I live in Norway. The only KENYA I have seen on the national TV here is Kibera slums. Only Africans can tell their own stories through their own eyes. Great work bro!

True! Stayed in Italy same thing then moved to Spain same same!
Right, alot of countries got slums or possibly worse just homeless people. America lots of homeless or tent cities. Does Norway have homeless people? Ylls government gives out money to everyone right?
@@stepfrom1500 ofcourse but the government usually takes care of that👍🏽

The way you did the drone flight on this video is top notch , when I grow up I want one of those Karen mantions 😁
Thanks Bro, will still be coming for some skills... Dreams are valid, just push the hustle
I have been in Nairobi since 1988 n this is the first time for me to visit n see Karen from above. Thank you brother for taking me through Karen. Jaribu ufanye ya Kayole please.
Nitafanya someday Bro
I am not sure how I ended up here, perhaps it was home beckoning me. You see I was born and raised in Karen until the age of 12, when I had to leave abruptly and go make a home elsewhere. That was 50 years ago. I have not had the opportunity to go back.
Watching this video, Karen has changed tremendously. The small village feel is gone, with so much over growth and back to back housing. Nothing stays the same as time goes by. But I wish every day that I hadn't been made to leave my life in Kenya. Yes, despite living in the west, my heart still considers Kenya to be my country. As they say, the hearts wants what it wants.
Thank you for the video.
Looks just like some of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in Toronto except for the red fertile soil. Good video bro!

Good job. Try and do Kangundo Road all the way to Famous Machakos Town.

Anyone who wants 'to grow up and live in Karen' can just plant trees in their land (Edit : or balcony , or kitchen) and be patient. Create your micro-climate where you are. The whole of Africa should look like this.
😁😄
Those were the exact words used by Wangari Maathai, that the difference between Kibera and Lavington or Karen is just trees.

@@pamelacelina9439 Almost... almost.
I'm hopeful as well
Hebu niulize kwani umaskini uvamia hadi miti? Mbona kibera, mukuru na mathere slums hakuna miti? Look at this Nairobi suburbs?? You wonder if is the same Kenya we know
My grandma had a thatched hut, but her compound was clean, manicured lawn and lots of trees. It's all in the mind. I once planted trees along the access road to my place. My idea was to make a boulevard of some sort. One morning, I found all the trees and hedges uprooted. You cant change a pig.
Back in the day a place like Ndeiya had no trees, just shrubs. Today the place is covered with trees.
The slums are mainly temporary housing in terms of they weren't in the plan.
Slums are as a result of encroachers just grabbing any available space and putting up some sort of shacks
We introduced hanging gardens in kibra n they just serve to show landlords where there is space to squeeze another shack...Crazy😣
Beautiful video for a beautiful place, i like Karen green like that bro. From Johannesburg SA
The greenery is beautiful, the rest of Kenya should ensure spaces are occupied by trees not rubbish billboards and bare land
One more reason I stopped blaming the government for my poverty.. Ati wahenga walisema aliye juu mungojee chini?
Positive attitude is the first step to executing change. To a certain extent, you are what you think. Other factors not withstanding of cause.

Excellent job as always. Was focusing on your background while driving, and wondered to myself, when will this vibanda phenomenon come to an end? I know it's a sensitive issue given the economic hardship with most Kenyans, but they seem to mushroom in every urban settlement denying revenue / rent to developers. Sometimes I think people use poverty as an excuse to take personal responsibility... Remember wadosi wa kibera?
I have a solution to that and need a partner in this regard.

I lived in this beautiful Karen area. It useful to be haven on earth. Most houses were of colonialist architecture design. The beautiful well maintained garden and a kayaper fence surrounding five acre plots looked stunning. Now all those have been subdivided into half acre plots. It seems somehow crowded now.
Like it should
Thank you for showing us around Nairobi...the world need to see this beautiful progressive city.

Thanks for talking about the no-fly zones (flight paths and homes of top government officials). I asked the same on your Runda video and some people really attacked me 😂
You were corrected. And you agreed you are a newbie to the vlog. The issue has been discussed a million times...
ハチドリ then how come you were clueless about the question I asked? If you don’t know something just sit it out man and feel free to learn from others. I might be new to the vlog (which is good news to the owner of the vlog) but I am a drone owner and a certified drone operator too. I’m 1000% sure you’ve never even seen a drone outside your browser
@@sebastiannyawalo8548 I didn't even know about it till I watched one of Abel Mutua's videos when he arrested her they were caught by NSIS for flying a drone in 'theirs' zone
Rhena Adhis yes Adhis. There are restricted areas that need authorization before flying
Kindly show the side of the story of Karen: the Kuwinda slums! That's how your story becomes complete! It will challenge those key people to think seriously about the slums
That side of the story you're asking for is more than adequately covered by Western media. (I come from Nairobi and currently live in the West.)
CNN and BBC will do that for us
This is not wealth. Suburban development is not sustainable in any way. In fact it's subsidized by the lower and middle income earners. Just look at the total taxable amount per square km. There is nothing to tax here.. that's why you see most of the city's ground infrastructure is lacking.. most of the revenue is used to tarmac and lay other infrastructure in large sparsely populated areas just to keep a few rich guys happy then the rest gets left overs after corruption has taken its toll. High rise Mixed use development is what makes a city rich (financially) suburbs are scams
Next time, rules permitting, try to go into some of the construction complexes and share the architecture or house designs plus the prices. Just to give the viewers a general info on what it costs to live in these neighborhoods. I'm sure for the sake of marketing majority won't object (in turn more views for you too: RUclips $$😊👍).
Good job bro! I have stepped a foot in Karen but from the video this place will comfortably compete with high end residences around the globe. These kind of neighborhoods don’t easily come by even in the US.
Thanks Bro, appreciate sana for your support.

Karen Estate lies seventeen kilometers west of the city centre and is one of a few Nairobi suburbs where tall jacarandas loom large, straddling long driveways onto huge mansions with plush gardens. It hosts diplomats, powerful business people, the upper strata of Kenya’s political class, expatriates, and much of Kenya’s privileged white, Asian, and Black populations.
Nice video. I wish you mentioned Karen Blixen under whose name the place was named. Her property is presently a museum.
