Excellent! thanks very much. Absolutely lovely to see so much green and exotic tropical land. HI bro, my historical perspective.. Kiambu is actually lands that were purchased in mid 1500s from various tribes living there like gumba, dorobo and athi. The kiambu folk are also called kabete or southern kikuyus who migrated from muranga and crossed chania to buy these lands as "ithaka". The book southern kikuyu before 1902 by LSB leakey did a great job to explain the place and its people even before the colonial settlers came to kenya. A big bone of contention that let to expropriation and eventual colonial settlement of kiambu was the colonialist assertion that kikuyus didnt really "own" kiambu" because many still owed debts on these lands when colonial settlers came. The land commission of 1934 discusses the whole land grab by colonialists before freedom fighters starting with waiyaki and harry thuku launched the efforts to get the lands back and eventually mau mau struggle. kudos for great video!
Gumba and ndorobo were south nilotic speakers related to the Kalenjin. The athi were pygmies which explains the short stature of kiambu kikuyus. Some Gumba migrated to northern Tanzania and are known as Gumbek. Also the Datooga and Tugen used to live around mt Kenya around 1400s but were expelled by maasai and kikuyu Coalition. All Ndorobo except Yaaku speak a south Nilotic language. The Yaaku speak an Afro-asiatic south cushitic language related to Oromo and omotik. Some ndorobo look like they mixed with the khoisan in Ancient times.
@@ledama6830 Kinale is part of Ndorobo who did not migrate but adopted Kikuyu culture most people in Kiambu are actually Kinale/Lari tribe, also the ancient Sigei are still there and their names are still used in Kikuyuised form even today, Kabete comes from Kaputei(a sub tribe of Highland Masai) who adopted Kikuyu culture. My great, great grandfather arrived in Gatundu South area from Murang'a around 1800 AD n at the time of arrival they found Kinale/Lari peoples and they infused with them, those who ran away moved up forest regions
Kenya looks remarkably like Zimbabwe even the grid pattern design of Nairobi to the tea estates. Karen surburb looks similar to Borrowdale and Highlands in Harare

Good content; from my experience with coffee here in the Slopes of Mt. Kenya, the dark berries are not spoilt. They are called "mbuni" and they are used to make a sort of low quality coffee. Anyways next time shoot the coffee belt in Kiambu County. Keep the fire burning!!
Good footage, but a bit of explanation on locations would add more value; for example, some info about the dam behind you (during the parting shot) could be very useful and so is more info on Brakenhurst - a wonderful place.
This is fantastic, I love the drone and everything in between. Your videos keep me coming back. I have a request; can you travel to new Kangaita/Kagumo/Kerugoya area in Kirinyaga and do your magic? Happy Easter my friend!!
