I've just done the same mod on my Golf 6 GTI 2011. I used the climatronic switches and trim panel from a Golf 6 Cabrio. Plug and play. No coding. Easiest mod ever! :)

Hi there , managed to swap the controllers , the new one wont lit and the car auto lock sys start playing up , i have got an obd11 pro , i need the long coding for the aircon syst for the new controller please but my question is i cannot access the long coding on the obd11 after the swap keep saying something went wrong i guess the module arnt able to read the new controller , would it be possible to stick the old one and connect the obd11 change the coding to the new one before even the swap ? I couldnt think for anything else atm
Hi couldn't help but notice your stereo was not screwed in, iv got a golf mk6 with the sat Nav stereo but got stolen once now it been replaced but again someone tried to steal it but couldn't because I grinder to screw heads down. Just wondering do you take the stereo system out all the time and if so does it need reprogramming when i install it or if I install it again??? Thanks
cut 2 cables, pin 16 and 20, you need 20 from car to 16 on climatronic, discard the old 16 from the car, then you can programme for lower temps and also higher temps, and remember heated seats on restart, then fit new stereo, check my latest coment above.

I prefer the old layout on my Skoda. The new one feels too loaded. Both old and new are still day better than the ones in Golf 8 without any haptic feedback

But, the A/C compressor isn't working and can't start. I tried another working unit from other car and the A/C compressor start and work on my car in this case. Do I need to do any coding, setting in order to let the A/C compressor work with my unit? Thx
Hi, not sure if you know but you can extend the range on the temps, 16 degree to 29.5. and set it to remember heated seat settings. but the best thing i programmed in was big speado, an absolute must in my opinion.

I’ve just asked the same question, he hasn’t answered yours after three years, I won’t hold out any hope. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t, my only issue will be with the lighting, the new one will be red and then there’s the issue with the trim panel

They just have seating icons, indeed, but the buttons' functions are still the original ones at the start of the video. If you'd want seat heating, you'd have to replace the seats, obviously.

[Basic Settings - 04] Select "Compressor Run In; Automatic Start" from the drop-down list.It will show completed, but wait 120 sec (2 Min) and observe the flashing A/C button light on the HVAC panel.After the Basic Settings has completed, the A/C light will quit flashing and the fault code will clear. Unplugging the Passenger airbag button while the battery is plugged could bring an Airbag Error only erasable with a Vag com device!! so take care.

Mostic! You need to hold down the heated rear window button and the A/C button for 3 seconds to sync the compressor to the new unit.

Mk7 Golf unit won’t work. I replaced my Mk6 Golf R climate unit with one from a B7 Passat. The panel trim I purchased on AliExpress.

No, it will not work. Completely different incompatible units!
