You do not need to repurchase it for that vehicle. I don’t know how it works for multiple vehicles. I used it to disable hill assist and reduce the brake assist as you come to a stop. The brake assist is that annoying feature where if you maintain the same brake pedal pressure as you slow down, the car decides at the last few mph to apply additional pressure to basically stop short. Other than that, I use it for code reading which I haven’t had to do much of. Hmmm $80 or $200-$300? $80 does all I need.

I apologize if I misled anyone but what I said about the device including PRO and Credits was not true. Mine was a media test unit with all features available. To do what I showed you will need to buy the device, buy the pro pack, and earn or buy credits. I want them to include a bundle with all that like I received.
Apps are a convenience. You can do it all manually in long coding and avoid the credit system. They are charging for the convenience. I've looking to Carista, and they use a subscription model to allow 'customizations'. No free lunch if you want it easy.
I totally understand but I still feel its a shady business model or a cash grab if you will. I mean why not just charge an extra "one time" fee? I have to pay to enable a feature with the app then pay again if I need to disable it? Its a very nice selling feature and makes it different from vagcom but its the pay "per use" that bugs me. Was the creators, game developers in the past? lol
It is absolutely disgusting for them to do this. I would never buy anything like that. Basically a micro transaction for your car. Total BS. You pay for the dongle and then you need to buy some Credits?! WTF? Are you sure this dongle wasn't made by Electronic Arts?
Would you prefer the long hours on forums? How about you dont get it right? I've had this for almost a year and i have more credits that ill ever need and i havent paid for a single one ever
Why should i have to have some stupid credits if i already payed for the dongle?! I don't want to click trough some stupid ads everyday to get one credit per day or some crap like that. If it costs them more money then the price of the dongle, make the dongle more expensive. Dont add this bullshit. I would definitely rather spend hours on forums then support this crappy shady practices. If you use already proven to work manual modifications, the chance you will damage your car is not higher then with this. Were do you think the authors of this find the modifications? On the same forums you do.
This device would have been interesting at twice the price, trice the price even... as long as it had not included this damn micro-transaction bullcrap.
Your OBDeleven performance Video was very informative and easy to understand. I happen to have a 2020VW Atlas Cross Sports vehicle and I have had several issues with this vehicle’s functions and had to have dealer reprogram the system to resolve the issues. Anyway, recently I had a DRL go out on one side and after getting it replaced under warranty, another side went out and due to vehicle having over45k miles, it is no longer covered under warranty. The part only comes as assembly and it cost about $1000 +$600 for labor just to replace DLR only. I was told by few staff at the dealer to find a mechanic shop that would use your type of programming tool to shut off the DRL only instead of spending $1600 for to just to have DRL showing during the day time operation of this vehicle. So to make the long story short, is your OBD tool able to turn off the DRL function only, on my VW Atlas cross sports. If so, I think this will help lot of VW owners from spending large sum of money to replace the DRL lights. Maybe you can do a tutorial video on this function as well. I would appreciate it a lot.
I will definitely keep my vcds micro-can. OBDEleven seems more like a toy than a diagnostic tool (microtransactions...really???). I would not consider it for anything other than enabling/disabling convenience features. The logging/live data capability of VCDS is where it really shines and there is a clear reason it sets the bar for aftermarket vag diag tools.
I agree with you, but for the majority of people who just want to turn on or off some feature, it’s way cheaper and easier for them to do OBD11. That’s their key demographic in my opinion. VCDS is more powerful tool but most don’t need those functions.
But you avoid some (simple) things with your workshop or similar, if you had a tiny false with sensors... There your bullshit app don't cover. Just play a game for younger people who does not give a shit. Or some entertainment, till whole car is disabled...
Agreed. That $199 for the ROSS TECH VCDS can bus interface was the best investment I ever made for my Audi. Free lifetime software upgrades, free and FAST tech support even on weekends (!), online library and forum, plus these guys know AUDI/VW like the back of their hands. If you do work on your own car, it's a must have.
Well, to be fair.. you don’t have to use the credit system. You can also long code yourself. They just added pre defined scripts for the rookies. You can always long code in odb11 for free.
FYI, your passenger seat fault may have been from the NFC in your phone. when I place my phone on my passenger seat, the car warns me that the seat belt is unbuckled. Near Field Communication seems to mess with the sensor.
Your seats look better than my Sportwagen seats. Way better. I needed a wagon, wanted tdi, and so there you go. Seats that force you to slump over.....
Is there somewhere I can look up the full list of apps Available for my 2017 VW All-trak ? Just want to see if there are enough things that I care to change for the money. Very new to all this. Good video
I like this and I think the credit system is quite nice. I mean, I am familiar with VCDS, but I’d be willing to pay for the convenience of not researching and doing long coding. Nice to just be able to have it done already. Makes me want to get a VW just so I can have this!
I did fail to show that and the pricing is not shown until ready to buy. I posted a LIVE talk about OBDeleven on my channel and showed the Credit pricing in response to your comment. $2.29 CAD for 10 credits, $17.99 CAD for 100 credits, and $45.99 CAD for 500 credits when I tested it. The pricing and offers can vary. I've been talking to OBDeleven and asked them to provide a credits bundle with the device.
Garo Arabian I appreciate that, and I did own it for 4+ years. Nothing beats the connected feeling of driving a manual. However, I did upgrade to an R and went DSG auto for that. Why? Because this transmission clutch is not quite strong enough for 300+ Hp and Tq, and you get a lot more features going double clutch auto on an R.
@@netcruzer I've driven a DSG mk6 golf R APR II, C63s AMG and Arteon R-line, as crazy as this sounds, I still prefer my little 6sp stick Audi A3. The DSG crackles and shifting from paddles was fun but the car felt empty and soulless. I would like to get the new version of my car A3 8V in manual but I'm really struggling. There's only one for sale in all of Australia. Shame that so many purchased Auto from factory because people like me who purchase 5yr old cars will suffer. Because of that i have to change my choice of car.
Both of my current MK4 and prior MK5 (Golf/Rabbit) were manuals. One time the VW dealership gave me a 2017 Rabbit as a loaner, so it was an automatic, and although it was beautiful, I have to agree that nothing beats the feeling of driving a manual transmission and I would choose-up my current MK4 with all of it's special (but unfortunately all too common) quirks and it's 5-speeds any day.
I use Carista now.. how do you think its doing compared to obdeleven? I have the idea obdeleven has a bit more options.. altough i like the layout from carista.. just simple and all the information straight away.
Great video explained.. Wanted to know if you have any information if this is going to work with an iOS device in the future? Secondly can you do logging whilst driving for certain parameters and then check it later?
The 1 faulty control unit/s code you couldn't clear wasn't a dtc to be cleared it was saying the control module its self is faulty. It was the sat radio I belive
What's your name? Netcruzer? Whatever. Anyway, you've made a great vid to explain this product. Thank you from someone who's trying to choose which obd unit to buy. It seems you've also sparked considerable discussion in the comments section about many of the issues to contemplate for the buyer. Objective achieved thank you.
Not bad. But VCDS is allot more in Depth and versatile. Have it hooked up to my convertable tablet and take it to meets and tweek people's cars . Just allot more info and easier to show results..
Hi, thanks for this comprehensive explanation. I have a 2012 Touareg and have alot of problems with ACC not available..... normally a sensor fault. Can this device read the faulty sensor and tell you which one needs replacing. Many thanks
Cool stuff... Will it allow you to enable remote start (if you get the proper remote) or all windows up on lock/down on unlock, sunroof control from remote?
Yes, it would be great if we could get a confirmation on this...ie can it do the voltage-threshold-mod (or some other way) to disable that most annoying start/stop feature so that you don't have to switch it off every time you get in the car? I guess VW/Audi doesn't realize this is a deal-breaker for many potential buyers?
I bougth a VCDS 10 years ago and used it so many times that Already payed for itself. I still can sell it for top$$. This OBD11 will never be fully paid. So on the long run, owning a VCDS is much better.
The second I heard "credits" (microtransactions, let's not kid on here) I stopped watching. Buy Carista instead. It's cheaper in the first place (there's even a free version), the Carista dongle costs about £15 ($21) and you don't have to pay to used it.
I was lucky i got my carista a few years ago and paid a one time lifetime price of £15 before they updated to the subscription and i still have full access for life. I also use carista all the time connected to Dashcommand on IOS for lap times realtime torque BHP fuel consumption and alike. I really recommend carista.
You have to pay the membership fee to make good use of Carista. With OBDeleven the diagnostic scanning and error reporting/clearing is FREE, but you are limited to Android only.
@@netcruzer - Hi John, there are free diagnostics tools in our app, it works with a wider selection of cars and on iOS too. All I want to do is make my '17 alltrack not warn me that it's less than 40f outside. Can this dongle/app thing do the trick? Is there an easier solution?
I’ve not found that yet but have not looked very hard. It might not be possible to change, it would likely require manual long coding if it can be done.
This video was informative and useful to me as i just got a preowned 2009 CC VR6 and, though it runs well, I keep getting a warning light that looks like the seatbelt not fastened warning even though my seatbelt is fastened. Op manual is in print only (have the manual but not finding any type of troubleshooting section). I like that this device is specific to VW/Audi and seems to be geared towards less tech savy types(longcode? Huh??)...yeah, i bet i could really do a number with that vcds thing. Thanks for the info! Now I'm off to find one of these scanners!
Everybody's getting their knickers in a bunch over the credits. I used them only once to code Urban Joke on my mk7. Everything else I did using OBDeleven I did manually without having any need for the credits. Do some research before throwing shit all over a device you know nothing about.
You don’t want to go changing long coding manually without a guide. Just use the apps or follow a step by step tutorial if changing something manually. And keeping stock values somewhere is a good idea to revert if necessary.
OBDeleven has more features. Carista is subscription based but doesn’t have pro level coding support. Only OBDeleven does that (and VCDS). I’ve tested VCDS, OBDeleven, Carista, Carify, etc. OBDeleven does the most and it’s best IMO for a VW owner.
Credit cost carries per region. Yes you do have to spend credits for each change if that app. Durning it on, off, different car, etc. To avoid that you can use buy pro access and code it manually instead of paying to use the apps.
I think I am going to go with the OBDeleven Pro so I can do the long coding without having to buy additional credits. I currently do not have an android unit so I am going to look for an inexpensive tablet that works on android, do you have any recommendations?
If you want a tablet sized Android, Lenovo, Samsung, and Asus all make decent low end 8" models. Or look at a pre-paid Android phone, with a 5" or larger display. Something about the manual long coding in OBDeleven is that it might be more difficult, because most forum posts (at least in the past) provide how to do it in VCDS and the screens don't match with OBDeleven. The credit system may be worth it for some of the more complicated changes.
I apologize if I have misled you but I've learned that the keyring device does not include a PRO code. You have to buy the Pro Pack to get a pro code, unless you are getting it from a 3rd party bundle somewhere.
Are you serious? I just watch the entire video and funny how he can’t figure out the SVM fault code Lmaof another obd cheap reader but now selling credits.
Credits are optional and specifically for apps that do complex long coding automatically. Seems reasonable they charge for that in my mind. To avoid credits you can get PRO and code manually like VCDS.

2:25 - Torque. Very nice little app to have... *EXCEPT* trying to figure out what car, version, chipset version, and modules you want to work with for said vehicle. For the non car-savvy (like me) it was pretty useless. This device seems like a decent option (except for the buy hardware, but more $$$ for its use for the non-code set among us). I'd like to have something that pairs with a GOOD dashcam (4k single channel??) to provide vehicle parameters like accel, brake, lights, steering angle, RPM and the like. Potential? Waste of time?

No, once deleted they are clear. But any major issue will come back nearly immediately so drive it and if no CEL it should be OK. Even a perfectly running car with no CEL could be full of Canbus faults. It’s very sensitive. One low battery could cause 20+ fault errors for low voltage warnings.
Good useful review/tutorial. I just got the next gen obd11. I notice that some things like battery information are not yet available (it comes back with zeros or 100% for everything), so it needs some more development. Also some names are in German. But it's a good start.
The credit thing does not bother me, because you are being charged for a feature that does not even exist in VCDS (apps, or they should properly call them scripts). Don't like dealing with credits? Then don't use the apps.
I just picked up a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen, and while there's some error, my OBDII scanner I have no is telling me that it doesn't know what the error is. Going to have to pick one of these up to replace it. I mean my current scanner WAS only ~$20, and it's more than paid for itself at this point, but it's time to replace it. lol
I think the biggest problem with this device is stupid, confusing point system (which btw is not bad at all, but it turned off a lot of buyers). I bought it to satisfy my curiosity, coded three things: 1) needle motion, 2) sound confirmation with lock, 3) mute button on steering. Its pretty easy to do it in long coding without the need for stupid points, the rest is useless crap. Although, it might become handy to troubleshoot something in future.
Interesting video, thanks for the info. I have a question for you. I bought a 2006 vw passatt that cranks but dont start, have spark and have fuel pumped, but no start, actually if i take the battery out for 2 weeks or so, it will start for a minute and dies and wont start again, this product will allow me to reprogram the key or reprogram the ecm?
I do like the easy of use compared to the Rosstech. But a credit based system is a no for me. family and friends all have VW/AUDI and we share tools and knowledge.
Thinking of buying this. But once you use your credit for a feature (example: mirror dip) is it set on your car until you deactivate it or you have to keep purchasing the feature every time you want to use it?
You only use credits to change an app's setting , so it only chargers you when you turn an app on or off. Not everytime your car performs an action. Just when you change the info on you ecu.
When you know what you doing it is a awesome device to get. Myself i know what to do and added many features and adapted some settings to my wish wihtout issue. Official they are not even avaible to my car but can be programmed when u know what to do

Thanks for the kind words. Purchase an OBD11 or anything after clicking an amzn link in the description and I do earn a small commission. 👍
I apologize if I misled anyone but what I said about the device including PRO and Credits was not true. Mine was a media test unit with all features available. To do what I showed you will need to buy the device, buy the pro pack, and earn or buy credits. I want them to include a bundle with all that like I received.
Awesome video well done bud. Only problem is my OBD plug has never worked for me, had it 3 yrs now..
This credit thing is bs. I was going to buy but dont want to be stuck watching ads or buy more stuff to make the apps work. :(
Apps are a convenience.
Thanks for the information. I am having a heck of a time getting my OBD-11 to work. There was zero documentation with it!
This device would have been interesting at twice the price, trice the price even... as long as it had not included this damn micro-transaction bullcrap.
Talamon San it’s bullshit not just bull crap. The developer of this thing is a greedy pig.
System Shock 🤘🤘🤘
Whats a microtransaction
Well, to be fair.. you don’t have to use the credit system. You can also long code yourself.
They just added pre defined scripts for the rookies. You can always long code in odb11 for free.
Micro transactions for tuning? F that!!
Is better that then going to your local delaship for them to charge you 100s of dollar ?

Netcruzer RC TECH CARS it is spelled “seat” what are you talking about. Seat is part of Volkswagen Audi just like Skoda. Same platforms
It is PRONOUNCE "SAY AT"...oy vey!! Spain brand of VW
FYI, your passenger seat fault may have been from the NFC in your phone. when I place my phone on my passenger seat, the car warns me that the seat belt is unbuckled. Near Field Communication seems to mess with the sensor.
would this turn on the voice control button on the steering wheel?
Your seats look better than my Sportwagen seats. Way better. I needed a wagon, wanted tdi, and so there you go. Seats that force you to slump over.....
Is there somewhere I can look up the full list of apps Available for my 2017 VW All-trak ? Just want to see if there are enough things that I care to change for the money. Very new to all this. Good video
Download the app.
I bought the auto meter unit.... unlimited credits lol
NoZenith how to log in into the app?
I like this and I think the credit system is quite nice. I mean, I am familiar with VCDS, but I’d be willing to pay for the convenience of not researching and doing long coding. Nice to just be able to have it done already. Makes me want to get a VW just so I can have this!
So no transparency around the cost of credits and apps with ads, and you connected that to your car🤪🤪
+Alex And probably needs a rooted phone to install. XD
The intent is to provide users with a sense of pride and accomplishment
I did fail to show that and the pricing is not shown until ready to buy. I posted a LIVE talk about OBDeleven on my channel and showed the Credit pricing in response to your comment. $2.29 CAD for 10 credits, $17.99 CAD for 100 credits, and $45.99 CAD for 500 credits when I tested it. The pricing and offers can vary. I've been talking to OBDeleven and asked them to provide a credits bundle with the device.
1ytcommenter no it doesnt
1 add = device returned for refund. No tolerance whatsoever.
It's pronouncd SAY-AT. Interesting product. Here there is a guy who does all the VCDS coding you would want for $25
Where is he?
Awesome product. I got it. Accumulated enough credits and used it. OBDEleven worked like a charm!!! Much better than Carista
I like your car because it's a manual transmission. Thank you for saving the manuals 😊

Ordered one in last the 10 minutes wanna do mirror dip on my 6R amd check codes ect. They have a good offer on atm
It’s perfect for that!
Not bad. But VCDS is allot more in Depth and versatile. Have it hooked up to my convertable tablet and take it to meets and tweek people's cars . Just allot more info and easier to show results..
Does this allow the activation of dashboard LCD features such as oil temp, boost gauge etc?
Hi, thanks for this comprehensive explanation. I have a 2012 Touareg and have alot of problems with ACC not available..... normally a sensor fault. Can this device read the faulty sensor and tell you which one needs replacing. Many thanks
Would this device allow you to prime the fuel pump when doing fuel filter changes in a tdi?
I am asking the same question.
Cool stuff...
Will it allow you to enable remote start (if you get the proper remote) or all windows up on lock/down on unlock, sunroof control from remote?
Hi can you use the app to turn off stop/start as a default?
Yes, it would be great if we could get a confirmation on this...ie can it do the voltage-threshold-mod (or some other way) to disable that most annoying start/stop feature so that you don't have to switch it off every time you get in the car? I guess VW/Audi doesn't realize this is a deal-breaker for many potential buyers?
Yes you can, i’ve tried it myself.
GC82 - that's for basically a single use. It's $39 a year to keep.it long term.
I was lucky i got my carista a few years ago and paid a one time lifetime price of £15 before they updated to the subscription and i still have full access for life. I also use carista all the time connected to Dashcommand on IOS for lap times realtime torque BHP fuel consumption and alike. I really recommend carista.
Carista cannot do long coding as far as I know, but I will be getting one to test ASAP.
It might not be possible to change, it would likely require manual long coding if it can be done.
is it possible to do all the long codings (like in VCDS) using this device without using any credits
Yes! Buy the pro version which allows manual long coding and adaptions with no credits. My tail light coding video shows long coding using Pro access.
Nice video.Do u know if we can switch off the SAI Pump after the pump has been removed to get rid of check engine light and fault codes?
My fear is that it is so easy to turn your car into a brick on wheels.

Richard Kaz the app has a memory of any changes made so you can put it back if you mess up.... Like I did.
You don’t want to go changing long coding manually without a guide. Just use the apps or follow a step by step tutorial if changing something manually. And keeping stock values somewhere is a good idea to revert if necessary.
Hey man
I'm really confused between carista and obdeleven pro.
Which device got more features.
Which one should i really get..?
OBDeleven has more features. Carista is subscription based but doesn’t have pro level coding support. Only OBDeleven does that (and VCDS). I’ve tested VCDS, OBDeleven, Carista, Carify, etc. OBDeleven does the most and it’s best IMO for a VW owner.
@@netcruzer thank you so much man
Microtransactions for vehicles? No thanks.
Only for apps they develop. You do the leg work to long code and there is no additional cost. I like the security of not risking fucking something up
How much are credits and if you wanna do the same mod on 2 different cars do you have to buy the app twice?
Thanks, great video.
Credit cost carries per region. Yes you do have to spend credits for each change if that app. Durning it on, off, different car, etc. To avoid that you can use buy pro access and code it manually instead of paying to use the apps.
Thank you for this video!!! I have been looking at the Ross-Tech and OBDeleven. Your demonstration of the differences are first class!
Glad you found the comparison helpful! I'm curious, are you going to get OBDeleven or VCDS?
Great video,
Could check if it supports E-Golf 2018 face lift
So could you use this to “code out” an EGR valve?
I guess my main question is, does this void any warranty on a new car?
Credit system is lame
Hi, thanks for the sharing, really appreciate it! Will this OBD eleven give you the battery registration function for Audi?
Are you serious? I just watch the entire video and funny how he can’t figure out the SVM fault code Lmaof another obd cheap reader but now selling credits.
Credits are optional and specifically for apps that do complex long coding automatically. Seems reasonable they charge for that in my mind. To avoid credits you can get PRO and code manually like VCDS.

Is there a way to see deleted faults? In case you want to buy a second hand car, to be sure there’s no big issue with it.
No, once deleted they are clear. But any major issue will come back nearly immediately so drive it and if no CEL it should be OK. Even a perfectly running car with no CEL could be full of Canbus faults. It’s very sensitive. One low battery could cause 20+ fault errors for low voltage warnings.
Just get vcds lite for $99 plus an eBay cable ($7) instead of doing dumb micro transactions for tuning.
VCDS is free program, just buy the orignal cable. I think you got scammed
Roberts Biezais from where?
Those cheap Ebay cables don't work for cars 2005 and newer I believe.
Will this control the electronic parking brake motor for pad change?
before buying, is there a way to see what options are available for a particular car ?
Hi , which one is the best ? The obd11 or vcds ?
Thanks
I just picked up a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen, and while there's some error, my OBDII scanner I have no is telling me that it doesn't know what the error is. Going to have to pick one of these up to replace it. I mean my current scanner WAS only ~$20, and it's more than paid for itself at this point, but it's time to replace it. lol
VCDS cost isn't so much in the hardware but the extensive R&D and product support.
Ask yourself how much of that you get for $60.
Quick question for you can you see a car's mileage with this software? My center screen has an error and won't display the mileage
Yes you can
Good review man..gotta do the cobb now😁!!
I just paid a guy that has the Ross tech, a computer and experience with VCDS €20 and he switched everything I wanted.
How hard is it to add new parts to your car (ex: dynamic chassis control) or different lights with the VCDS?
i don't know what it's like where you are but my Audi dealer will make all those changes for me for free whenever I take it in for a service.

No I don’t think so. Car has to have the hardware to support it.
What head unit do you have? Do you think is gonna be compatible with a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta?
I do like the easy of use compared to the Rosstech. But a credit based system is a no for me. family and friends all have VW/AUDI and we share tools and knowledge.

i saw a setting that says video in motion. does that mean that i can mirror my phone or something?
hello buddy, should the device always stay plugged in? or will we remove it after the transaction?
Thinking of buying this. But once you use your credit for a feature (example: mirror dip) is it set on your car until you deactivate it or you have to keep purchasing the feature every time you want to use it?
You only use credits to change an app's setting , so it only chargers you when you turn an app on or off. Not everytime your car performs an action. Just when you change the info on you ecu.
When you know what you doing it is a awesome device to get.
Myself i know what to do and added many features and adapted some settings to my wish wihtout issue. Official they are not even avaible to my car but can be programmed when u know what to do
