You can do this method with any of your favorite recipes. Mine is Olive Oil 40%, Coconut Oil 25%, Palm Oil 20%, Cocoa Butter 5%, Shea Butter 5%, Castor Oil 5%, superfat is 5%. Please run your recipe through a lye calculator. My batch is 70 ounces. I used about 800 grams of water in total. 600 grams to mix my lye. 100 grams for the sugar syrup, and 100 grams divided equally across my colorants. I keep my titanium dioxide premixed in a 64 oz bottle with water. I use 2-3 tablespoons of sodium lactate. Please be aware that hot process soap still needs 4-6 weeks of curing time. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you out! Thank you for watching!
I am SO glad I came across your videos. Baby Sharon Johnson don't have nothing on you! Honestly your patience with explaining and showing the process is a beautiful thing in itself. I've watched sooo many videos on fluid hot process, and I couldn't, nor can afford to pay Sharon for the secret to fluid soap. I couldn't get fluid soap. Now I'm positive I will be able to. I truly appreciate it. Thank you!!!
I made my high temperature hot process soap yesterday and it was so fluid , I didn’t know what to do with all that fluidity 😂 This is a amazing video u have here 💕
I've tried this process, took me awhile to understand the measurements, but it turned out beautifully. 70oz is approx 2kg of OILS (for my metric friends) I used different oils such as the inclusion of beef tallow (which tends to setup fast and usually is removed from the mould within 4-5hrs) . This makes a total batch (including Lye solution) of about 3kg (106oz) and if anyone wants to make a smaller batch like I did, put the recipe into soap Calc with a 38% water as of oils (soaping at full water).
I have been trying for years to master fluid hot process soap 😖 I am so grateful to you for being such a wonderful teacher!!! Following your instructions I FINALLY DID!!!! God bless you a thousand fold 🙏🏼 No one can touch you! You gave me confidence and you inspired me greatly!!! You are a QUEEN of hot process and a generous Queen at that ❤️
I searched high and low for a decent hot process technique and yours has definitely surpassed that by leaps and bounds. I'm prepping my lye water now so that I can make it tonight. thank you so much for taking time to explain everything in detail. I actually watched a pot boil on your video. I would never have done that anywhere else.
I was up until 5am this morning soaping so I'm just getting up. After reading the comments today I now realize that the ingredients I plugged into soapcal gave me more of a whipped cream soap. My batter went into the mashed potato state after about 8 minutes and stayed there. I didn't know what to do so I just continued putting in my additives. It was fluid but very frothy. As I was adding the lye to the 600g of water, a little voice said I was not doing something right. I continue because I didn't know what to do. I'll try again once I get over this heartache.
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. I am mot sure what your ratio of ingredients were but maybe you didn’t have enough lye? I would double check your inputs and give it another go. You got this!
Wow!! This is the BEST fluid hot process video!! I love love love your technique and you explain it all with such great detail. That batter!!! The most fluid I've seen so far. I make both CP and HP and I have tried other peoples methods and even their recipes but my batter never looks as creamy or fluid as theirs does. And not anywhere close to what yours looks like. I've gotten some great swirls on the inside but by the time I get to the top it's already starting to get chunky and I never get a good top. I love how yours looks even when you just swirled the soap with the skewer. The top still looks so smooth and creamy compared to what mine looks like. I will definitely have to try your method and let you know if I have success. Thank you for sharing such a fantastic and informative video!!
Hi! I’m so glad that you enjoyed to video. I just learned about fluid hot process myself recently. It has been a fun ride. I’m going to make more this week, so I hope you come back to check them out. If you need any help with yours, let me know!

It's been three years since you asked the question of how my day was😂 but I might aswell tell you, it was a product, good and also alil fustrating day, I'm new to soap making, I started with cold process soap, I did my second batch of soap today and it seized alil because of a naughty fragrance oil, but it still ends up being soap and probably isn't to bad, I'm now researching into hot process soap because I'd like to try that and your video is really great for a beginner to understand. Thanks.
This video was amazing! I love that you didn't fast forward through ANY of it. It is a bit of an intimidating process and being able to watch you step by step at normal speed really helps to take some of the fear away.

You just shared in 1 video what took me 2 years to learn basically on my own. Back in 2000, we only had a few spots to learn HP soap making so everything was trial and error. 🤣 Lots of error. I’m making my first batch in 5 years in a couple of days so thank you for this refresher. This information is so valuable to new and old soapers alike. I always loved the process of HP more than CP and you did it great justice. All the best to you!! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Sassy! I think I made my first HP in 2006 and then never made another one until I learned about the fluid method. It is so fun and rewarding.

I will be watching this video while I try this method for hot process soap making. I am truly thankful that you shared the entire process. I made a batch the other day but not with a crock pot and I was pretty amazed. Thank you for sharing. I definitely will use your steps for my next hot process soaps! ♥️🤍🖤🇹🇹
@@ZAJANatural Well, It was not as fluid as yours. I entered my recipe in soap calc for a 36 oz batch. Used the required ratio for the Sodium Lactate, yogurt and half the amount you had for the sugar serum. It did not budge lol. The soap came out lovely but the batter was not fluid at all. I would have to research the usage rate for the Sodium Lactate and the Sugar Serum for this method and try again. (I used 1 tsp ppo for the SL and 1 tbsp ppo for the yogurt).

Hi, Thanks for video and kudos to your efforts in replying to comments. I too have a question. Your recipe has about 6 percentage steric acid. I wonder if change your recipe to say what I have mentioned below will I still get fluid batter keeping everything else same. Shea butter 25% Cocoa Butter 25 % Olive 20 % Coconut oil 10% Castor 10 Palm 10 ?
That's a lot of solid ingredients. I honestly think it would set up way faster. I would suggest making your butters less than 25% of your recipe, and upping the Olive oil.
Yes. You take in account of the water that you need for the entire batch. Then take 100 grams or so from that before adding the lye to it to make sugar syrup.
Been making my soap hot process for YEARS, LOOKING for a better, faster way...can't get the hang of c/p no matter how I try! This looks like it may be just what I need! Tyvm! Hello! I did not put the amount of lye because you will have to calculate that yourself based on your own batch size. I did put the percentages of each oil in my pinned comment.
Hello! thank you for sharing! I love your soap. I am a little confused with the recipe as the oils are mesaured using a percent scale and the water/ lye and rest additives in grams. Can you provide the oils weight in grams too please? (Are they a kilogram of oils?) so i can make a proper relationship with the other ingredients. Thank you Zaja!
I am amazed at the fluidity of your batter. I just found your channel and I have watched this video 3 or 4 times already trying to learn your process. I have just one question, at what point in the cook do you go from high to low temperature? I know that you turn it off when you are ready to add your colors. I will be watching all your videos and I will subscribe to your channel. Great job!!
Conchi Tellechea Hi Conchi! Thanks for discovering my channel and for your question. I turn the heat to low after I have tasted the soap to check and see if it’s done. At that point you can even turn the crockpot off. But I like to keep mine on low to keep it hot.
Great video! Yet it's sad listening to your plans for the following summer. As you filmed this in 2019, much has changed in plans for travel with Covid-19. I hope you still get to Europe with your kids!
I need to learn the magic of fluid hot process soap, so far my HP is like mashed potatoes consistency lol Love the trick with the activated charcoal, I have a pink I want to use that’s too bright I’m going to try that!
Thank you for sharing. I think it's important to note: your HP soap needs more time to cure because of all the extra water added to make it fluid. Without the added water, HP soap is absolutely ready in 48 hours; albeit, the batter is not as fluid as yours.

Hi,im a new biggner h.p. i made a soap, and i have a white chunkes at the end ,when i cut the soap, does it dangerues to use the soap afther 4 weeks? Or it o.k.? And its just not beutifuel and smoot soap? Sorry if i have mistake, english is not my languish.the soap was 1 hour and half on low heat, and it didnt have the volcano stage
If it has white chunks it may be lye. I know this is two years later, my apologies. Sometimes it can also be that the stearic acid was not melted enough, or your coconut/palm oil did not melt fully. It's hard to say.
Hot process soap is already cured it just needs to get hard (1week is good). If you add extra water or milk then the bar will be softer and need to harden longer.
Hot process soap should still be left for at least 4-6 weeks before selling. You can use it in a week, sure. But it won't last that long. A good cure is good for soap, no matter what method is used.
I just found your video. Thank you thank you. How much lye did you use? 50/50? I love this recipe, I used almost these same oils last night but mine wasn’t as liquid as this and this is what I’m looking for 🥰
Hi. Love this. What was the amounts of your oils versus percentage. I'm trying to determine how much will mixture I need to use the lye mix you suggested to get fluid (800g of water). If you could provide the full recipe it would be amazing. Ive been trying to do fluid HP for so long and this is the best video Ive found so far. Im hoping it will work today when I try it out. Thank you!
Great questions~ Sugar I believe adds to the fluidity and also helps with the lather. I taste the soap because by doing so I can tell if the soap is done. If the soap tastes sweet (before adding the sugar of course) it is done. If it zaps my tongue it needs to be cooked longer.
Hello! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I don't think using yogurt or sugar in soap that has already fully cooked would be a good idea. It would most likely mold.
Hi! Love your video 😍, thank you for sharing this. By the way, did you use mica powder there? Which one is better, mix it with water or with light weight oil? I read somewhere that you're supposed to mix mica powder with oil
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You can mix mica with oil or water. When I am making cold processed soap I mix my mics with oil because I know it will be saponified. When I make hot process I mix with water because by the time I add color the soap has already saponified and I don't want extra oil floating around in the soap.
Sangeetha S A Do you mean when you add it to the cooked batter, it doesn’t remain fluid? Colors are not as vibrant in hot process. Maybe because the soap has already gelled.
Sangeetha S A Have you tried premixing it? I keep my TD mixed in a 64oz squeeze bottle. I mixed about 10oz of TD with the water. Whenever I need white, I just give the bottle a good shake and squeeze.
I'm sorry. I am just now seeing this question. Neither are necessary, but essential if you are trying to keep your batter fluid. I do not have experience with vegan yogurt, but you can give it a try. I imagine it's the cultures in the yogurt that does the trick.
Thank you! I don’t share my recipe as it took a long time to get it right. I will however say that you can use any recipe and just make sure the extra ingredients are correct. I will share my notes later when I go back into my workshop.
Hello , thank you for your amazing teaching. I am new on the all soapmaking . The measure of the additives that you mix with water you take out from your water or add some just for mixing it?
Well, you COULD go "blue", just use variation...blue with td, act/chcl... etc...and have scale all the way from almost white to completely black all through the spectrum of blue...🙃😁👏😘think of the variations on spectrum!😍😂👏👏💖

If it has white chunks it may be lye. I know this is two years later, my apologies. Sometimes it can also be that the stearic acid was not melted enough, or your coconut/palm oil did not melt fully. It's hard to say.
What makes it fluid is the extra liquids (water or milk or yogurt)
I believe the yogurt does the trick. I don't actually use any extra water, I just partition my water to use it at different times.
What do i do if after tasting it there is still zapping, it means there is still lye, do i cook some more?
Yes, cook it more on low until it loses the zing.
Hi,your superfat was added in the beginning??Not after the trace??I didn't see you addi g the super fat after the trace

The "superfat" is saponified regardless so I calculate it with the rest of my oils and add it all at once.
Do you have to use yogurt? Can you replace the yogurt with something without animal products? Thanks 🤗
You can try vegan yogurt.
Obrigada! 🇧🇷
Thanks a lot for this great video, very useful. Good luck!
I just found your video. Thank you thank you. How much lye did you use? 50/50? I love this recipe, I used almost these same oils last night but mine wasn’t as liquid as this and this is what I’m looking for 🥰
I found your comment where you added this info 🤪 7 months ago lol. So thank you and shame on me for not reading
@@donabouse5957 Lol, no worries!
Very helpful video. Thank you❣️
Hi again,if u dont mind,i have another question, why u put suger eith water, and what is the amount? To one kilo of soap
How much sugar water do you add in?
About 60 grams.
Good mama, wife and soap maker ❤️
Do you need to do water discount, since there was quite an amount of sugar water added? Thank you!
Hello. There isn’t a water discount anywhere. I just separate the water and add it where I need it. The sugar, colorants, etc.
@@ZAJANatural Thank you very much for the sharing! Sorry, I'm a year late! Awesome work👏👏👏👍👍👍💯💯💯
Crockpot is on high or low.. What is the total batch in grams
It is on high. Can't recall the total batch in grams, but you can calculate based on your own recipe size.
Wow..Great video..What was the water %used??Batter is very fluid..Thankyou..Great that i found your channel nd subscribed too❤️❤️
I used about 800 grams total. 600 for the lye, 100 for the sugar syrup, and 100 divided evenly for my colors.
Please help I want to make hot process soap where can I find the measure amount of ingredients
I think I have that comment pinned.
Whats the sugar syrup ratio? And how many sodium lactate to add?
Hi. Thank you!
Olive Oil 40%, Coconut Oil 25%, Palm Oil 20%, Cocoa Butter 5%, Shea Butter 5%, Castor Oil 5%, superfat is 5%.
@@ZAJANatural huge thanks, Im so excited to test it out! I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thanks for sharing your talents.
Thanks for watching!
2 ?? Why do you add the sugar to soaps?and why do you taste the soap?
Great questions~ Sugar I believe adds to the fluidity and also helps with the lather. I taste the soap because by doing so I can tell if the soap is done. If the soap tastes sweet (before adding the sugar of course) it is done. If it zaps my tongue it needs to be cooked longer.
I see thx
Hello. How do you figure out the yogurt and sodium lactate and sugar quantity for a recipe? Thanks
How much sodium lactic you use per pound and how much sugar water do you use per pound. Thank you
same question xD
I use 1-2 tablespoons for a 70oz bath. Same with my sugar. 1-2 tablespoons added to 60-100 grams of water.
Love your tutorial. That blue and white is pretty. Have you ever tried using yogart and sugar syurp in rebatched soap? Just curious.
@@ZAJANatural thanks for your info! Have a great day! 😊
Why do you have to wait 4 weeks to use it? The lye is cooked out isn't it? Or no I want to make hp soap.
The lye is gone even in cold process soap if made properly. The wait is so that the soap can dry out and become a better, milder bar over time.
@ZAJA Natural SOAP ASMR ok, I got you. Thank you 😊

Thank you!
Can I use my cold process soap recipe to do this?
Yes you can!
Thank you so much for sharing.
My TD portion does not remain fluid in SBHP. Wonder why? Also TD part does not become fully white in SBHP the way its white in CP.
Sangeetha S A Do you mean when you add it to the cooked batter, it doesn’t remain fluid? Colors are not as vibrant in hot process. Maybe because the soap has already gelled.
@@ZAJANatural the white portion in SBHP is not fluid and not bright white. Wonder why
Sangeetha S A Have you tried premixing it? I keep my TD mixed in a 64oz squeeze bottle. I mixed about 10oz of TD with the water. Whenever I need white, I just give the bottle a good shake and squeeze.
Thank you so much for this I’m going to try this tomorrow. I appreciate you❤️😍
How did it go?
150 degrees or higher will make hot process soap in a stainless steel pot with Stick blending.
That was amazing! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
what liquid did you add to your colorant
Hot water.
Is sodium lactate and sugar water necessary or can you just use yogurt? If I can use yogurt can it be a vegan version like coconut?
I'm sorry. I am just now seeing this question. Neither are necessary, but essential if you are trying to keep your batter fluid. I do not have experience with vegan yogurt, but you can give it a try. I imagine it's the cultures in the yogurt that does the trick.
Wow beautiful BLUE - love that measure spoon can you please share the link from Amazon please?
Hi! amzn.to/3q14rMO
Could you direct me to your full recipe please
H0w much sugar water
Can you share the actual measurements for your recipe,, Your soap is gorgeous
Thank you! I don’t share my recipe as it took a long time to get it right. I will however say that you can use any recipe and just make sure the extra ingredients are correct. I will share my notes later when I go back into my workshop.
Hello , thank you for your amazing teaching. I am new on the all soapmaking . The measure of the additives that you mix with water you take out from your water or add some just for mixing it?
do you discount your water to start?
Yes I do. I reserve the water to mix the sugar and colors with later.
Well, you COULD go "blue", just use variation...blue with td, act/chcl... etc...and have scale all the way from almost white to completely black all through the spectrum of blue...🙃😁👏😘think of the variations on spectrum!😍😂👏👏💖
Have you ever had your soap to mold?
Never. You don't want to add too much yogurt, seeds, fresh flowers, or anything else that might induce molding.
Just found your videos! Love hp & your is amazing! Subscribed!
Thank you!
Could you add goats milk at the end of the cook?
I would add it during the cook.
Great video
Thanks for the visit!
so happy i found your chanel
