I'm SO glad to see you doing HP soap. I love making it. While it has benefits, it also has challenges and you NAILED it, my friend. Please do more! I've also found (so has the soapqueen) that adding sodium lactate at then END of the cook helps with fluidity. I also keep the "bad boy" fragrances for hot process because acceleration, seizing and ricing are not problems with HP soap. Further, you will never have glycerine rivers or soda ash with HP soap. Awesome job, soapy sister!
Hi im learning HP method. Can you plz tell me the names of the youtubers I should watch or any other source from where I can learn HP soap making, like people you know that are good at HP. Also it would be nice if you tell the names of the ladies that are making swirls with HP
Thank you! You're my favorite soaper and I love watching all your videos. I'm a beginner and learning from RUclips soapers. It's my new hobby when I can't sleep.and my cure for depression. I like that you explain the steps your doing and why.
Wow, I never thought they would turn out sooo good. I have never seen hot process before and it was so interesting. Thank you for having the courage to do something that you have never done before and to do it in public. Go girl.
I just watched this again. I think I've watched most of your videos at least more than twice. I just love love watching your soap videos! They're so inspirational and relaxing. I did do hot process after watching this the first time. Now I'm wanting to do it again. They turned out so pretty and you're just so encouraging with your beautiful personality! 🙏 I hope and pray you and your husband are doing well. Thank you, Ellen and God bless you!
I so agree about soapers being encouraging to one another, and I love it! Sometimes I feel like we're friends even though I don't really talk to anybody in the soaping community. A bit silly, I suppose, but I love watching the videos and feeling the love of the art really come through. The soap turned out quite lovely as always. ~ Be blessed Sarah Anne
I really like how you make your soaps, your one of my favorites, you really care about what’s in your soaps and the benefits of them for people and I like the fact you do them on low which I believe is better.
God bless you. Nice job. I have been watching soap making for over a year now and am buying stuff slowly to get started. Almost ready. It is nice to know the community is friendly. Thank you.
Oh my goodness, absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe this was your first hot process soap and it turned out THIS amazing! I really really want to try hot process soon. Very impressive work. -Shonna
I just started soap making and I really loved this video because it really shows what someone goes through when you're not 100 percent sure what to expect. "I wish you were here with me. Should I stop or keep going?" So pretty and such an amazing job!! Watched this while filling my molds 😊 good luck to you, and I hope you keep practicing with hp!!
Keep going! Making soap can be intimidating but with anything else, the more you read and try, the better you become. It's an art and when you are not an artist (or chemist) which I am not, it's even more challenging. You'll do great.
I love watching your videos! You inspire me as I am about to embark on becoming a soaker! I have my space set up and almost all my products. I am a bit nervous because I’ve invested a good amount of time and money to do this. But the more I watch you the braver I become. Thanks so much for all your videos! I am aspiring to be an all natural soaper because many of my friends and family prefer that, myself included! Thanks again!❤
I have never tried hot process but you have encouraged me today! I'm going to try my hand at this this weekend. You look like you've done this a thousand times! They are beautiful!!! 🥰 I love you, Ellen Ruth! God bless you and your family! 🙏
Hi Ellen, I just wanted to make a note that if you decide to make HP soap a lot, I've found this solution to be a better judge of PH. 1% Phenolphthalein. You can purchase it from Amazon and what you do is take a tiny bit of the batter and put one drop directly onto the soap. If it changes color AT ALL you know the ph is off. The strips are great but this "In My Opinion" is better. Just wanted to let you know what I've found. Again, Beautifully done, it looks amazing.
Ellen you did so well, I was so pleased it turned out lovely for you. I don't think there's anything you couldn't give a go, if you put your mind to it. Can't wait to see what you do next time. I'm loving watching. 🥰🇬🇧🧣
Awesome Job! I've been making hot process soap for over a decade. I've made some beauties and plenty of disasters. One of the many benefits of hp is that you can use less fragrance because the lye is cooked out before adding them to the batch. I use the oven at a low temperature. My wife and I both Love this! Thank you!
It is true, the soapers are fantastic and supportive. I just started making soap this June and have dabbled in hot process a bit, but mostly I've done cold process and they are both so fun! Congrats on your first hp, it turned out beautiful! I've watched a few videos with stick blender hp that doesn't need a heat source! Yes, I shall be trying that too! Thanks for sharing your soap making, they are all beautiful.
You did a beautiful job making your first batch of HP soap. I started off making HP, and I prefer the rustic look. I also like the fact that the scents don’t fade like I’ve experienced with CP soaps. I truly enjoy watching your videos. I got interested in soaping about 8 years ago. I did a lot of research before diving into it. I was so afraid to work with lye, so I started off with melt and pour. Once I felt comfortable enough, I started making HP, and then CP. I love the soaping community. Everyone is very nice, and always eager to answer your questions. :)
My very first attempt at soaping was hot process on the stovetop about a week ago. And just tried my first cold process 3 days ago. I’m in love with both processes already.
I am still brand new to soapmaking. I love working with Cole process and bringing in some elements of melt and pour for size and the one thing that always amazes me because to me it’s like magic is when the oils are blended together and if you don’t color them they have a certain hue .... Whether it’s a little on the green side or a little on the yellowish side and when you’re doing hot process I always think it looks like applesauce but then 24 hours later he got white soap! Chemistry and magic I love it. And the soap came out beautiful! I can only hope and pray that my First attempt at things come out it’s successfully as this did ❤️❤️❤️
Started making cold process and rarely will make CP now, but love HP. No acceleration, ricing, glycerin rivers, soda ash.... absolutely loooove it. I should add that I don't sell my soap. I just love making it (addicted) and I gift it mostly to appreciative neighbors, friends and family and that's the only soap my family & I use. You did great (but, of course you did)! Thank you for sharing your first time. There's not enough HP videos out there and there is always something new to learn. ; )
I'm excited for you. You are brave to do it live. I love it. Thank you. I'm considering doing it as well. You encouraged me. Keep it up and yes this video is very helpful for me Thank you
Well done! Congratulations for your first hot process soap. It came out perfect. It was so fun watching your video how to make your soap. Thank you so much. Keep up the positive vibe.
Thanks for sharing, lovely soap. I make both cp and hp, my customers like the cp because it is prettier but I like using the hp soap. I make hp soaps when the fo doesn’t play nice in my cp!
Hi Ellen Ruth: You are so fun to watch. It's too bad you can't block those who are negative. Unfortunately that is the world we live in. I think people are jealous of other's success. Just let it go; the mean spirit they carry is their burden, nor yours Keep up the good work. Cathi
Your video was excellent, thank you! I have had a break from soap making for a while, to come back and watch your inspiring video has given me a boost of enthusiasm and confidence. Thanks again xx

gorgeous. im going to start a soap and lip balm and candle business with my girlfriend. her husband is very happy about it.... watched a million videos and i want to say that you blew me away. i dont have the want to do hot process. it took me a few videos to think of do lye. i was going to by pass lye all together but found out lye is the thing that makes it hard as store brands. sooooo i have most of the stuff. you are very brave to do the hot process.
These are gorgeous! Looks like you’ve been doing it for years. I love hot and cold process, each for their own unique properties. I hope you’ll continue your HP journey. Looking forward to seeing some more.🥰
You did a great job looks beautiful! I just did my first HP last week but I did it in the microwave and it turned ok a little bit drying, so I should look into doing superfat and yogurt. thanks for sharing have a blessed day 💕
Way to go, Ellen!! Beautiful soap for your first time making HP. You've inspired me to try it. I've always wanted to try HP but just a little intimidated to do so. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Thank you for inspiring me!! To make HP soap. Today I made it, it was super fluid and I love how it turned out. Don’t stop making videos ever!! You’re my favorite 💕
What a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing this. I have wanted to do this for so long. I am an artist and hobbyists perfumer and have NEVER made soap before. Your have given me the courage to try this. I love the rustic look of this process. I think this would be a wonderful project for my homeschool mom's group. Thank you again!
Home Schooling is such a blessing. I think I have more fun than they do. This fall our group will do some pumpkin spice soap or something similar. It's a go :) So excited! Thank you also for the recipe and material list. It really is very helpful.
Hi Ellen! Just wanted to stop by and say I love your videos and your soaps! Your videos are informative and easy to follow, they also satisfy my OCD because you are so conscious with cleanliness ! I cringe when watching other videos and they make such a mess! Lol I just received my 2nd soap order from you about a week ago and I want to say how much I really love your soaps. The scents are amazing, your packaging is lovely, and shipping is fast! I have purchased handmade soaps from probably 5 or 6 soapers and yours is by far my favorite! Thanks again for what you do and keep up the great work! Tamekia ☺️
i like the thought that the essential oil scent and benefits may survive the soap process more with a hot process method. and not having to worry about the soap seizing with essential oils.
🥰 thank you so much! It was really fun. And I'm excited to be able to use some of my F.O. That didn't play well in CP😉
Hi im learning HP method. Can you plz tell me the names of the youtubers I should watch or any other source from where I can learn HP soap making, like people you know that are good at HP. Also it would be nice if you tell the names of the ladies that are making swirls with HP
It's ok we learn and do as we go.
Going to let know when I do my first basic batch.

Thank you! You're my favorite soaper and I love watching all your videos. I'm a beginner and learning from RUclips soapers. It's my new hobby when I can't sleep.and my cure for depression. I like that you explain the steps your doing and why.

You are so welcome!
i like the thought that the essential oil scent and benefits may survive the soap process more with a hot process method. and not having to worry about the soap seizing with essential oils.
Yes, i really like that too💕
Very cool! This is the second one I have watched and it looks very intimidating and a little like mashed potatoes in a good way. Nice!
Thank you 🥰 it was really fun!
Such pretty colors and looks so smooth
Thanks! I was super happy with the way it came out!
