    And here I am, watching every single homeschool video of you although I‘m only 19 with no kids and homeschooling isnt even a thing in my country 💀😂
    Also, I would like to add, that those videos are really interesting for me since every child in my country goes through that typical state school system, just as I did. And I actually loved going to school in general. Loved being with my friends every day and I was actually really good in school, so I enjoyed it. My brother was the complete opposite tho, he was constantly struggling academically and socially. I‘m wondering if homeschooling would‘ve helped him!

    • @michelleyeck819
      @michelleyeck819 5 лет назад +4

      homeschool allows parents to teach the way kids learn so that may have helped in the education side but on the social side people are who they are. sometimes you can become more confidant in your own skin by removing yourself from the situation for awhile but, I have 4 kids and one of them is socially awkward and that's just there personality. That being said hes 4 so it could happen. until then I tell everyone hes my functional mute.

    • @lillyl6901
      @lillyl6901 5 лет назад +1

      michelle yeck maybe you‘re right! I think some kids are just intimidated by those huge classes some schools have. For a socially awkward child to be thrown into a class of 25-30 kids unknown to them 🤯 must be horrific! My school was different and I went there with everyone from my kindergarten class. Some kids I knew since birth.
      But our school system is also very different from the American one, so its always an interesting thing to watch for me.

      @@lillyl6901 it has changed a lot as well when I graduated it was mostly pen and pencil now teachers hear bearly teach they allow the electronics to do it for them witch is very sad. I sent my oldest to school a few years ago for like a month worst thing I ever did because they failed him from the start they should have done placement testing before they started him (they didn't they wanted him in a classroom so they could get tax money for him being there) and so they placed him in grade 2 because that was where we were at in his homeschool not shocking to me that school was ahead of where we were in homeschooling duh I told them this they were surpised. so they put in in 1st grade and that would have been ok had they started him there to begin with but they didn't so he felt like he was being punished started acting out and it was just a nightmare I brought him back home and never looked back. dont get me wrong his teachers genuily cared about him but the administration just wanted the tax money they would get for there head count. theres more but that was just the worst thing

    Such good advice! Not a momma or a homeschoolers. In fact I teach in public school. It's so easy to compare myself to other teachers and wish my classroom ran just like theirs. And I'm not my students first teacher. Their parents are! I'm there to facilitate their learning and assist these families in education. Loved the video!!

    Great advice! This will be our 6th year homeschooling and I feel like I'm FINALLY relaxing and realizing I have to do best for my kids and not what other people think is best for them. Or what everyone else is doing! My 3rd child has forced me to loosen up majorly. He's the one that has forced me to accept that not all kids are the same and to not compare!

    Thank you for talking about writing down a mission statement for anything you do in your life not just home schooling. Makes 100% sense and is so true. Without a deeper cause that hits you or hurts you that pains you to see in the world, none of the superficial causes will sustain your mission longer and or keep you going stronger. When the waves are rough and the days r tough, if not for a real vision that matters to you, the interest or joy of doing whatever you r doing ( RUclips, adoption, working for a certain company) will fade away over time. You are a wonderful mama and a person! I love your videos here and on your this gathered nest

    This helped just as a stay at home mom of two little ones. I find I'm constantly worrying, comparing, etc. Mission statement for my family is something I want to work on. I feel it's important to believe in what you're doing. I lack confidence and constantly doubt myself. Not being quite the reliant captain I want to be.

    This video was perfectly timed. God is so kind- He knew my momma heart needed this! This is our first year educating at home. The Lord has confirmed which curriculum He’d like us to use and He provided another homeschool family in our school district that I can get advise from. After we told them our curriculum choice, they started explaining why they preferred their curriculum more. I left the conversation doubting if we made a mistake or misunderstood the Lords leading. But He was kind to quickly bring to mind all the signs He gave us that pointed us to the one we chose. So thank you for making this video! It blessed my heart and the Lord used you to remind me I am following His leading not anyone else’s. 💗

    Even though I will be graduating with an Elementary Education degree next year, I completely agree with doing what is best for each child so that they will have the best chance at a success education. I would even love to, if my life style ever allowed to homeschool my future children if I saw that would work best for all.

      Classroom Of Creation I agree! I’m an Elementary Ed major as well & a current paraprofessional. I’ve already decided that my future children will more than likely go to private school or be homeschooled. Public schooling definitely isn’t off my option list but I’d like to consider other choices as well.

It is actually something I have considered because this year (she's in 4th grade) she has been giving us a very hard time attending school and I just know homeschooling is the best choice but let me be honest, I am super nervous to fail her and not be good enough. It's ok to be different ❤ I would rather my kid be different in the safety of my home than to go to school and face bullying and everything that comes from not fitting in.

    I really love to learn about this though. I think that homeschooling is amazing. I went to public school, but honestly don’t think I’d want my kids to go to it. I would want them to either be homeschooled or maybe private school. I really want my kids to have a more theistic approach to learning and I want them to involve God every day. I am going to college to become a teacher, but teaching is something I’m passionate about (my kids or not).

    Hi Angela! I'm a new homeschooling mom to two kids and am curious how your experience has been with compliance. I really dislike that word but this is my biggest fear-- my daughter is strong willed and opinionated (which I love) but worry she will give me a terrible time trying to get her to do her lessons everyday. We use minimal punishments and rewards and are gentle parents for the most part, with boundaries of course. I guess my question is--are your kids eager to learn your lessons 4-5 days a week?

    My family sooooo....ignorant about homeschooling! My Aunt at our Memorial Day gathering at my dads said basically homeschooling is for for lazy moms! It took everything for me to not say anything! They are so ignorant! My step mom knew I wanted to say something soooo...bad! 😂😂

    My hubby is just not on board. Not for any particular reason which is what bothers me. I have done research and think relaxed homeschooling/maybe unschooling would be perfect for our first son. My husband says cant we just be normal? Any advice on how to explain and compromise and figure this out?

      hey_ jeeta I would ask him for some clear cut reasons. Specific and then address those. And then explain how they're a non issue. For example if "socialization" is an issue there's co-ops and sports and classes for homeschoolers. Or maybe it's the cost? He's afraid it will be a lot. There's plenty of free or inexpensive curriculum to use. As humans we are afraid of things we don't understand. So maybe it seems completely off the wall to him? That's how the majority of my family reacted when I told them we were homeschooling. They didn't think I was capable of being disciplined enough to do it. Yet here we are 6 years later... And now they all love that the kids are homeschooled. Maybe compromise and do a year to year basis? I bet he'll come around after the first year if he agrees to it. Good luck!

      Could you talk about just trying it for a year? Or try some (un)schooling during the summer months?
