Just wanted you to know... I did what you said. Ordered my lights on Amazon - swapped out the refrigerator light and the freezer light and all three came on (even that little one at the bottom, on the refrigerator side, that I didn't swap out) I appreciate your detailed and thorough video. ❤❤
Heyyy, thanks a bunch for this tutorial. Was able to buy the parts and will install over the weekend, avoided a pricey home warranty claim with your help! :)
Before replacing the panel, try cleaning copper poles first on panel. First remove panel as instructed in video on freezer side. If only fridge blinks than do just that side. Take a small file or metal brush that fits inside male plug fixed to panel, and clean the two male copper poles that project from the plug. Put panel back into freezer as instructed in video and see if this fixes the problem. It worked for me. There is a strong likelyhood that this is the problem. LED lasts for many decades so unlikely the need to replace panel. Note: A nail file can be used as well. Just cut it to a thin width to fit width of plug.
Very informative video. I have the same issue with my fridge. Thank you. I have had this fridge for year. I do not understand why Whirlpool installed these led lights vs. light bulbs. I suppose to pay quite a bit of money for these led light!!!!
Thank you SOOO SOO MUCH. I also had the dim fridge light you had. tried replacing just the fridge light but nothing changed. Was ready to throw in the towel. I didn't think about tackling the freezer too. I didnt realize the package also came with the freezer switch, so I changed that one too and behold, all seem to be super bright now! These lights are a total POS, they go out way too easily so I'm REALLY not enthused to (eventually) have to do this again once it all fails. In that case, I might not even bother. That said, at least I know how to replace them now and that's good, thank you 🙏👍
Thank you for the video. I don’t think the led lights are the problem but maybe something on the motherboard goes bad there made super cheap, unfortunately is not so cheap for the consumer to replace.
@@jonburrows2684 hey bro! I mainly used the video to figure out how to remove the LED boards without breaking anything. Really helpful. You'll notice the boards are pretty much the same. Only one of then controls the other ones. For me, I removed the boards, cleaned them carefully and mounted them back. It's working since then (4 months approx). Good luck there!
My freezer compartment light is off, the other two 9n the fresh food side are on but dimmed. I ordered the freeze panel and am hoping it will light-up all 3. Would love replies Thanks for the video it is identical to mine. I may never get both arms in there and will be tough for me do but I'll sleep in the freezer before I pay these guys $100+ per light.
Yeah huh? Factory replacement lights priced at their weight in gold! You may get by just replacing the one light but I've found LED light drivers are sensitive and one light going bad may affect the other two. Try this link for a more reasonable price on all three lights. www.amazon.com/dp/B09KMQ1FHB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
It should as I did it with mine worked fine but lights started acting up again within 6 months so going to order all 3 and hopefully by replacing all 3 lights that should fixed the issue only fixed the freezer & main but not the middle thinking that’s the issue now
I found them on amazon. They are not brand name originals though but were about 1/10th the cost. Original replacements are crazy expensive. www.amazon.com/dp/B09KMQ1FHB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
The main one at top in fridge holds the LED drivers. Even if it is not flickering a failed driver on its board can ruin a new light. If the main fridge light is flickering and the other two are not, you may get away with replacing only that one. In any event, the main light with board has to be replaced if any of the three flicker.
My guess is the freezer light is completely burned out. It appears either of the auxiliary lights can burn out the driver in the main light (top light in fridge). Most likely have to replace main light and freezer light at least. Remember to unplug power to fridge before plugging in new lights.
@@SweepeasPoppa Yes, it seems the LED drivers are a bit touchy, if one goes the others may be on their way. www.amazon.com/dp/B09KMQ1FHB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

My money is circling the Whirlpool every time I have to fork out another $40 for these POS lights designed by a chimp. Never buying another Whirlpool product again.
Yeah, and the Whirlpool factory replacement lights were over $400.00, crazy expensive! The sad thing is I believe that many major brands are now built in the same factories by the same people.
thank you sir... a great step by step instructions.
Thank you! My light didnt come out so easily, but your video taught me how to swap yhem out!

I just wanted to thank you so much for this! I was able to fix my brother-in-law’s fridge super quick! So grateful. ❤

Thank you, wanted to try led out but at the same time I don’t want to break the entire frame, Video helped a whole lot, thanks again.
Fantastic video! I will order the parts from Amazon. You give stellar instructions. Thank you.

How much do they cost and where did you buy?

Good vid. What about the third light? I cant even get the wire disconnected from it
It should disconnect the same as the freezer light
Thank you!

Some times you can just take it out and warm it up and it will come back on.
Do I have to replace all of them. 3?

Is there a recall on this garbage yet?
Not that I know of and the factory replacement lights are unbelievably expensive.
You don't need the music, the issue is irritating enough.
Where did you get replacement pieces ?

Where do I find the light kit for 30$?

Try cleaning the copper poles on panel plug first. Doubtful you need to replace panel. See my comments above.
