"We can't technically use track mode on the street" -> the first thing that The Topher will likely do in his POV test drive video 😂
Blame California
@@mjl1712 Wait is track mode blocked for Cali buyers?
@@nycyabber7103 I don’t think it’s blocked but Cali law Enforcement will hand you a fatass ticket for the exhaust. Definitely not the place for enthusiasts.
@@nycyabber7103 Some people drank the propaganda Kooaid, thinking it's illegal in California. There is no State legislation in regards to it, including exhaust systems.
@@nycyabber7103 No, there is no law that prevents you from being in track mode on the street. Just follow the rules of the road like you would in any normal driving mode.
They used to make V8 mustangs as affordable pony cars for youngsters, now they're damn near in the corvette price range
Could be said for almost anything
The Dark Horse has extensive, expensive upgrades over the entry level GT.
@@CuriousGeorge1111 These “expensive” upgrades contain a Tremec 3160 found in base v6 Camaros
@@TheCaffeinatedDrive 😂😂😂
Corvette is 90k, those have gone up too.
The 05-14 interiors were the prime example of badass and classy touches of old school muscle
It’s gone now
2013 gt manual 5.0 here,
You are correct
Plastic everywhere?
but now you got the tablet interior lol
I agree with you one hundred percent I have an 07 Mustang GT myself
Wtf do you mean, completely empty uninspired interior?
That exhaust note on this car is godly!
Here's the EV style interior in your mustang that you never asked for.
And a steering wheel from an F150
i hate all these screens in cars, just give me a nice mechical gauge cluster
Every interior is starting to look the same with these large digital clusters lol
Digital dashes are cheaper that why every manufacturer is doing it.
@@nostalgic_pokemon_memories I like electronic displays on vehicles. Bikes have been doing it right for years with a small, colorful display that tells you what you want/need to know.
This looks like a laptop got cancer and was grafted onto the dash for life support.
“And they go so much faster than a foxbody ever could”
I took that personally
Same! maybe a stock one!! lol
Lol dude really compared a 2024 Mustang gt to a car that came out in the 80s 😂. Of course it's so much faster 🤣🤣
Me too. Don’t knock my old Foxbody. That thing was the fastest whip I had in my 20’s.
"are you sure about that?" lol
What if I told you fox bodies are UGLY.
Uglier than a PT Cruiser.
“They go much faster than a Fox body ever could” *Gutted fox body on Nos enters chat*
"stock for stock"
Yea... okay... bye bye
@Deandalapanda "stock for stock" I would sure hope so. The fox body is decades old. But like the guy above said, throw nitrous on it or turbo it for several thousand dollars in a $10,000 fox body would wear that Dark Horse out on the drag strip as it left dragging its rear pumper
Man this car is beautiful! That huge paneled screen makes it so gimmicky though.. it almost looks like you’re in a smaller suv from this POV angle. 😭
As a non-mustang fan, this sounds amazing. A bit sad though that they got rid of the iconic double brow dashboard. All of these new cars with one large infotainment screen are so lifeless - there's no design language or anything unique about them.
Agreed, wtf is the auto industry doing… 🤦♂️ copy paste interior infotainment systems
i agree! and it wont age well either
I agree, they should’ve kept the double brow for sure!
It was only ever on the originals, the S197 and the S550s.
Since it has the Fox-Body gauges I assume they're going for that vibe, which I kinda see if I squint a little.
Agreed, it looks so bland. Completely lazy design.
crazy how engineers/testers sat down with this system and said yea the laggy controls are fine.
That was the marketing team that had the final say. Obviously. Engineers wouldnt put a giant touchscreen across the entire dash.
Crazy that you can feed yourself.
@@Cultofpersonality09129 what?
It’s not laggy, it’s the refresh rate in the screen and the camera’s capture not mixing well.
@@mmonkeyman1403 Um no, that's bs. There's clearly a considerable delay after he presses a button, especially physical buttons and the slider.
As a guy who honorably still daily drives an 03 GT Mustang new edge I can’t express how much I want this POV experience myself. I’m partial to the old school no bells and whistles days but this is a special generation. The last V8 pony cars with a manual. ❤
Love the Jedi Survivor Easter egg in the time stamp naming 😂 Rick the door technician! 2:28
I like when you can feel a good vibe between the journalist and the employee. He seemed so chill and just happy to be driving in a cool new car happy to take directions from Topher. Great video!
This interior will age like milk
It's beyond terrible. Somebody should be fired for that.
@@craiganderson8569 it is completely devoid of any character.
Milk probably ages better. Can't believe so many people actually like this. And it costs 60k too, absolutely absurd.
@@username8644 the exterior is nice and parts of the interior is nice but that display is disgusting.
@@HarrisonVogl I’ve been saying this so much too. They did away with pretty much all of the character with the dash. I also prefer aftermarket radios over factory radios and you can’t swap this laggy stock screen for anything. Sucks
That extended display cluster is a deal breaker
Hey.! U not say wat can havs my screens dummy 😂
Oh god. We have the regular ford door chime in the mustang now.
Looks like a refined evolution of the S550 model. Kudos to Ford for keeping the V8 and the manual. Stang Power!
Refined 😂😂😂
@@svn5994 lemme guess mopar guy
You mean refined evolution of the Chevrolet Camaro with a Corvette cockpit styled interior? Ford even went to a similar developer for the infotainment software as GM. Hearing them discuss Magneride knowing that’s a GM developed thing. The tremec Manuel. Lol 🙄😩
@@G-Rated you car folks with your tribalism are sure interesting to watch with all of your silly little arguments I'll tell you that
@@luisramirez-or5vg don't mind these idiots. Half of them have never even owned a Stang and never will. Probably none of the other pony/muscle cars either. Dude said the interior looks like a Corvette 🤣🤣🤣. He needs LASIK, bi-focals and cataract surgery. He can't see a damn thing!
I love how this car sounds
the V8 rumbles sounds so mature imo
aside from the door chime, same as my 2010 focus 😂
@@SimonWilsonRules'yes officer, its stock'
I am not a fan of the big tablets as displays, I think the S550 interior is much nicer. I miss the 'hump' on the passenger side of the dash. Glad they're still making it in manual and it's a cool car for sure but I prefer the S550.
same
😂 that interior, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??? That’ll satisfy the soccer moms. That’s being said, that car sounds amazing, looks great on the outside, and is a ROCKET
My only issue with it is the tablet dash. It looks dated and it's not even out yet lol. Hideous compared to the S550 digital gauge cluster which was perfectly integrated
Exactly my thoughts. Im assuming is for the future EV version if they ever make one thats not a Mach E. It will translate better in that application.
Getting rid of the iconic dual hump across the dash ruined the originality of the mustang. It just looks like the same shit see you see on a Merc or BMW except it’s worse because it looks so laggy and huge bezels on the screen. Ford really Fumbled it. The s550 will age like fine wine and this one will age awfully
11:45 topher pov starts here
thanks man
As a current Mustang owner and a potential Dark Horse buyer I'm torn. I love the look, sound, and transmission options. I absolutely hate the interior and the laggy screen is both dangerous and difficult to live with. The interior feels like a step backwards from the one that I already have. It might be a deal breaker for me.
Laggy screen complete deal breaker. I'm not living with that daily… especially for the price and prestige of the vehicle.
typical ford UI. i have a 15 f150, 17 mustang and 22 bronco. all have the same UI issues.
i guess i can be happy to own a 2016 mustang with good old analog cockpit...i dislike all that screen shit in every new car. it wont last long. and laggy screens...no thx
These screens are going to age so poorly. The lag is bad enough. Basically have torque app as a dash now.
Buy hellcat 😂
One word, MANUAL!
and it still has the famous coyote tick, fantastic!
Someone doesn’t know what direct injected engines sound like lol
yep, they all have that tick at about 2k RPM.
Love everything about the car besides the screens on the interior, they look like a afterthought
Modem times requirements . It looks less plasticy.
I like the screens, but yes, they look like an after-thought. They could have integrated it into the dash better, by molding it to it or something.
So many new cars have the same tablet stuck onto the dash look to the interiors. Ford did better than most, but still wish it looked more built into the dash instead of just stuck to the top edge of the dash.
@@Power5 I'd say ford did it worse then most as they put the hvac controls in the touch screen. Most other manufacturers are moving away from that on thier new models. Meanwhile ford is moving to it
I was speaking more from aesthetics, not functionality. But I agree. Give me my knobs and buttons for normal things. I want a volume knob so I can quickly turn down the volume when needed, you know, when pulling into a parking spot or looking for a house address.
I have started to love this new generation of the mustang. Other than the dash design. I like to have the capability of using an aftermarket radio because they tend to be much better than factory, and like you said, the screen is laggy. Something you don’t get with nicer radios.
Good to see a manual for change!
Youre not going to buy one.... lol Companies losing money because people are crying about there not being anymore manual transmission cars when they themselves cant even afford a used car
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS, AUTOMATICS SHOULDN'T EVEN BE A THING IN CERTAIN CARS!
The car sounds awesome! Waiting for you to do the POV Drive
Pretty clutch man. You might've gotten the best ride along video so far.
18:41 bro’s entry was cleaner than what that interior needs to be to last.
I tested the screen response at a car show. I was very impressed with the button response and it never seemed slow. I don’t know why you experienced slowness but seating in the car with the Lead Mustang Engineer she showed me absolutely zero delays.
The shifts with that shift knob look satisfying.
I can’t believe we’re getting a new muscle car that’ll last the rest of the decade, too bad the Challenger is now an turbo I6 and the Camaro is essentially dead again
Maybe not. That screen just seen like a ticking time bomb
@@jasonw98 hahahah I agree, I have yet to see a screen to last beyond 10yrs lol
Is the Challenger I6 even confirmed? I wouldn’t be shocked if they don’t produce that at all
@@Milano322 or even borrowing engine from Giulia
@@brolyvi1211 The C7 is technically nearly 10 years old since they started being sold in 2013, doesn’t seem like there’s been many issues with the digital gauge cluster based off what I’ve read
Definitely a looker! Excited for when you get behind the wheel!! Hopefully a track day too!
glad to see they're still making stick shift cars
Why? Youre not going to buy it? lolol
All these people complaining about new cars with "automatic transmission" when they cant even afford to buy a used car 😂😂
@@deandalapanda ???? they definitely sell a lot of new Mustangs with manual transmission genius
I'm a Mopar guy to the soul, but I'm Very impressed by this new Stang, cudos to Ford for not forgetting the street muscle enthusiasts!
Mopar baby!
Sad mopar surrendered to the eco lunatics.
I must commend you on your very keen eye!
To future buyers: enjoy the 20k markups!
Ford is pissed about the dealer markups, and they said they're considering going to an online sales model, where the dealership is just where you pick the car up and take it to get serviced.
@@lvbuckeye yeah I've heard that too, a while ago though. We'll see if it happens. I bet dealerships will fight against it with all of their money and influence.
20k ? Yeah right. That’s what raptors have. Expect to pay a much much premium mark up.
Lol probably 30k, even 40k imagine a Mustang close to a 100k. Lol, even a Cayman or a 911 (991.1) is better in that range. Be it a base model or a S.
@@lvbuckeye Sadly due to legal reasons they will only be able to do that with EVs.....maybe 1 state or 2 they can do it with the gas cars but I doubt it
This guy's honest review is everything.

As a person who struggles with commitment, the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is perfect for me
The interior and the front end just remind me of a Honda Accord.
Honda does it better lmao
This exhaust sounds amazing with headphones in. Ford did a great job.
Yeah, got my headphones on listening to it. That coyote can sing.
I used to think bigger screens would be so cool and futuristic and now that we are in that era of cars, i wish we would see more hideaway infotainment systems and more focus on interior design
If they want to really boost sales, they need to make a fox body with today’s technology
I dont need it. I dont need it. I dont need it.
I. NEED. IT!
You don’t, you really don’t
"60 thousand dollar car"
dealerships calculating ADM-😆🤣😂
I wish I had this version of the ride along and not stuck in NYC traffic. Sounds great when opened up!
I can't help to wonder how good of a muscle car one could build for the same or less money as buying a new car like this.
Looks like the 6th gen Camaro and S550 had a baby! Super happy ford is keeping their V8 muscle car around, sad to see the Camaro go.
I GUESS THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CAN'T KEEP UP FIGURATIVE AND LITERALLY!
“They got rid of the phallic gauge cluster, so that’s good”
*ford guy chuckles*
The guy that help develop the software and lay out of the digital dash lives up the road from me. From Canada!
That interior is going to age like milk.
It's already looking dated, gotta agree with you on that.
That instrument panel is dull. This is a throwback muscle car, so at least offer analog gauges. Kudos for continuing the manual and hand brake. Seats look fantastic! Nice improvement for Ford.
Ford: lets make a sports car and put a steering wheel out of a pickup truck
@@gaivoronno...it doesn't. This is just silly. What car in this segment makes this interior feel dated?
@@tri3pleagent what are you asking?
I miss the dual cockpit design, but I still want one!
Very Cool Mustang upgrade. Looks like a spaceship inside ..
It’s tough to watch this when he’s driving like my grandma. God damn step on that thing man!!!!
say what you want, this is a muscle car that keeps a v8 and a manual. thank you ford
I think it’s time to accept the fact that they aren’t going anywhere. Lol
Ewww manual the slower not fun transmission rather go fast and have fun than be slow and pretend like I’m having fun losing races to modern day autos
@@Rerollful nah, manual better :)
"Manual", and completely loses the spirit anyways with those giant ass touchscreen panels everywhere. There's nothing manual about this car, its all dumb screens, electronics and animations.
@@username8644 electronics are awesome, if you don’t like it just by an older vehicle lol. it is a manual, it quite literally is
This looks absolutely sick, exterior is on point
The 2.5ft long touchscreen tablet completely ruins the interior though. Looks tacky and stupid in comparison to the rest of the interior trim which is actually styled pretty cool imo.
If there were an option or mod to entirely remove that tablet and just have a basic tach cluster, I'd unironically put money down on one of these in a heartbeat. Why does every new car need to have these unnecessarily colossal displays in them? This is something that everyone's going to look back on in 20 years and laugh at the obsolescence lol
Outrageous the price of V8s. Also, the square Dash seems like it would be difficult to see over? Probably not but that's what it feels like.
Thanks for doing one with the manual transmission! Nice car indeed
WOW! You're the *FIRST* of my favorite reviewers to get access. Did NOT expect that, well done!!
Noone cars.... $60k... yea right... you forgot the +$60k dealership mark up
I’m not feeling the new design, but I said the same about the S550 and it grew on me, gonna wait and see more of these pop up on the road and see how I like it in person.
The dash goes crazy 😤
Love the Jedi Survivor Easter egg in the time stamp naming 😂 Rick the door technician!
Would have to wait to see if that screen gets fixed in a later model but everything else looks good.
I agree with you about the front fascia. The biggest "detractor" for me is the matte/black instead of it being color matched. I think the GT has a nicer looking front end. Other than that, I think Ford nailed it.
I guess I am an old-school guy because I cannot imagine living in a world without hearing the sound of supercharged V8s, I don't care how fast or efficient they make electric vehicles if the sound of the vehicle doesn't put a smile on your face its not worth it
As a lifelong Chevy guy, Ford is winning my affections in every way.
The exterior is not bad but the interior doesn't look like it belongs in a Mustang.
The retro 🦊 body gauges are 🔥🔥🔥!!
Gosh I love the sound!
I’m 30 years old and mustangs have never appealed to me before, but I’m digging this one
Glad I got the S550. Would hate to have to look at that boring iPad interior all day. Looks like the kind of interior you'd expect on a cheap Kia.
Still can't get over the fact that the Dark Horse is within just a couple thousand dollars of the C8
Good luck getting one tho
@@zalcan3620 that will most likely go for both cars for at least the next year or two, at least at MSRP.

Impressive that it has the same MPG ratings as my old V8 Lexus while having 200 more horsepower.
MANIACAL🤣😆
Honestly. I cant stand that screen replacing the dash
Can't wait to get these in the UK. I will be first in the list. 5.0 sounds fantastic
Dude the shift at 3:55 was just violent, but in a good way
As a fellow Topher, and a fan of this new mustang, I'm pretty excited to see how this car turns out, and what people will do to them.
I wanted a muscle car not an IPAD
I always get excited when I see a new Tedward video
Can’t wait to take one for a drive
Gorgeous car, inside and out. Happy to see some of the improvements. Sad to see the laggy screen but that might be improved with a software update. $65k is a lot though.
That’s how much a scat pack is except this is faster.
Those screens are so awful. Everything else seems pretty awesome.
getting big AMG V8 vibes from the interior sound. Love it.
New mustang is NICE LOVE IT
Felicidades amigo, espero algún día tener un auto de esos. ¡Saludos!
Just wish it weren't so heavy. I really like everything else about it, though.
"Go so much faster than a Fox body ever could." Somebody's never been to a drag strip.
NO EV will ever replace that noise. God it is lovely.
AAAAAAAAAAAAHMEN!
The problem we're facing right now is that the price of everything has gone up substantially but most people's income has not so everything seems more expensive than it should be. Example in 2004 the cost of this mustang would be about $36k so price really isn't far off (orignal msrp of 04 cobra was $43k in 2004)
I'VE COME ACROSS SOME VERY NICE 1999-2004 models FOR SALE HOWEVER THE PECKER BEATERS SELLING THEM BE IT DEALER OR PRIVATE SELLERS HAVE THEM PRICED IN A STRATOSPHERE AS IF THEY JUST ROLLED OUT OF THE FACTORY, AS IS A COMMON PHRASE OF MY ALMOST EIGHTY YEAR OLD MOTHER! THEY DUN BUMPED THEY HEAD!
Very nice ride along video! Love the features and powertrain of these new mustangs, and the exterior is growing on me. But still can't get over that interior :/ wonder if Ford will be making "Classic/Heritage" editions with more analog style guages and such
They need to make one with analog gauges and a decent looking interior!
That door chime is killing me soulds just like my fusion. 😂
Was thinking of getting one then saw the slap on digital display. The Mustang was cheap but had a certain unique feel to it when you sat in it and now it’s gone.
I still prefer the 2023 Mach 1 specially for the price .
i'd take a gt350 over this. those are fords best design in my opinion
@@StrongerThanEver84 those are great too . But super expensive.
Mach 1 to me is great because you can get it brand new and still for a great price . But GT350 are dope 🔥
What price?? This isnt going to be $60k... its going to be $60k MSRP + $40K dealership mark up 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Exhaust note sounds awesome. This seems more like it should be a GT option package instead of named Dark Horse. I'd expect more for $60-70K and that Tremec should be in all Coyote manuals. Dark Horse name deserves a bigger engine.
Whoever approved of the name Dark Horse, should be taken to the Dutton Ranch and tied to a wild one for an hour.

When you can get a ZL1 for cheaper that will blow the doors off this thing
Congrats Ford. You made an interior befitting of a mini van.
The slow laggy infotainment system is a real big disappointed. Especially since it also contains all the HVAC controls and vehicle settings. Its also not well integrated into the dashboard.
