- Its getting crazy when gaming handhelds can start playing PS2 games, but here we are living in the future! Watch me be amazed by my RG405v, what it can play, and what to watch out for!
Special thanks to everyone, Novella for the Zoltan artwork,, and everyone else you know who you are!

Great video, by far the best video about RG405V which I watched until today. Very clear and straight to the point. Great job!
That’s music to my ears! I work really hard to get to the point, sometimes to my fault, perhaps… but when people get it .. it’s the best.
Love how smooth you are with the review bless and that beat at the end is 🔥
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Really great, thorough review! Gotta love “huh” cat 🤣
Anbernic seems to be pretty consistent compared to a lot of the other brands you review. Seems pretty solid.
Agreed.. they certainly raise the bar. Thanks for watching!!
Great review!
Thank you so much!
The intro was really funny hahaha
Thanks! This really happens!
the 'wood feeling' on top of the plastic, is called a veneer
It’s totally cool
Hey, so just to clarify (because I am not great with android side of things) if I purchase one with a big ol sd included and go straight to the Linux side/anbernic front end, will I have access to the n64, GameCube, ps2 straight away? Or does that need to be accessed from the android side? I only ask because I bought a retroid pocket 3+ and ended up giving it away after several failed attempts and tutorials went wrong, I just wanna play games straight out the box (even if the firmware isn’t the best)
Thank you :)
Yes… If you buy the SD card that they include it will work out of the box with the Anbernic front end (that kinda looks like linux). Make sure you put the SD in before booting up though! Trust me on this!!
I have been contemplating whether or not to get this one or something else because I only get to spend this amount of cash on fun things rarely. I think your video has made me decide yes. Yes I do want this as much as I thought I did. Ha Hah!! Thanks for making a simple, descriptive, easy to understand yet short enough video to maintain my interest and my decision with more than just words on a page or having to watch a long boring video that doesn't reach the core of what I want to know quickly. Cheers!
Aah those are such sweet words to hear! This is EXACTLY what I’m going for in my videos. Trying to be thorough as well as get to the point and try to make it somewhat entertaining. Thank you for getting it and I hope you stick around. I really want to know how much you love your RG405v and if you need help I’m always happy to help!
@@RetroZoltan Mission accomplished 😎.
Please tell me you’re going to make a plug & play sd card for this system??? You know i will definitely buy one from you🙏🙏🙏 i just picked one up a few weeks ago for $100. Great video brother
Well…. kind of. Sadly, the Android OS doesn’t make it easy. You can add an SD full of games but it’s not the same :/
how does pokemon fire red and/or emerald look and feel on this device? and can you save and continue playing where you've left off with no issues? is it preloaded?
They look real good, and you can save and load no issues. May be a bit of a learning curve if your not used to Android OS. Those titles were preloaded on mine but depends on where you get it from, of course.
Would you explain the Daijisho app? Im a huge Atari Lynx fan and ive been looking for a handheld emulator for it!
Ill toss something together and see what sticks. I appreciate you asking and I’ll use Atari Lynx as an example.
@@RetroZoltan Wow, I appreciate that!
I am working on it now. I learned some stuff so thank you for the motivation!
OH the cat LMFAO
I love that damn cat. That’s chonkey cat.
I got a important question about the rg405v does the device always needs to be updated its firmware or should we leave the firmware alone?
Yes you should leave it alone
Oh ok thank you
Thank u pinlblueloxplayer
Cooling fan looks like a speaker, starting to want each model and I just found out about these
Wanting each model is a disease that’s costly (but so much fun!)
I'm getting mine soon.
I would love to know how much you like it!
@@RetroZoltan I've just ordered mine the other day. I honestly can't wait to try it.
@@SolarFarle let me know if you need help, I think you will ❤️ it for sure.
@@RetroZoltan Alright then.
@@RetroZoltan It just got in the mail yesterday and I'm loving it so far.
Hi guys, just wondering, can these run conker bad fur day originally on the n64?
Im assuming you’d have to download the ROM online yourself?
It’s not on the SD that comes with it, but yeah. How good are you at grabbing roms and putting them on SD cards?
@@RetroZoltan I used to handle ROMs years ago to play games on a n64 emulator and MAME (arcade, I think). My computer is pretty old now lol
Same … I call it a retro computer but it’s just that I’m too cheap to buy a new one! Lol
@@RetroZoltan haha true! Any websites you suggest for ROMs? I’m looking for mostly RARE games like banjo and conker.
I’m fairly sure RUclips would beat on me with a stick if I helped you too much. My best suggestion, I would say uh… do a google search for Banjo-Kazooie.n64 or .z64 as a start to your search… for research purposes only, or course.
Can it play Gran Turismo 4 on the native software specs?
I’m going to check … not a bad test!
How do you save a game ?? I can’t save pokemon emerald it says “Save failed. Checking the backup memory… please wait.” Then it continues by saying “The backup memory is damaged, or internal battery has run dry. You can still play, but not save.” Can you help me out fixing this? I paid $200 for this thing… smh
So normal “saves” won’t work. It’s complicated now and you have to use your emulators save option. This is GBA right? Are you using the Anbernic loader to play this?
This has become my Early GTA machine. Playing San Andreas on this is such a treat
You saw my crappy driving playing?? Lol I need to ease off the analog sticks!
@@RetroZoltan there's no wrong way to play if you're having fun😄
@@Tebsteroni I love when your traveling with someone and hearing the comments when you drive like an ass. Lol
You playing the android version or the ps2 version
@@Unfixingprawn in the vid, the PSP version (I believe). Or were you asking about San Andreas? There is an Android version? I had no idea!
Can you connect a ps4 or xbox one controller? just incase I don't like the buttons, I need a backup. i'm sure id love the buttons anyway. ps. could you try pac man world 2? see if it works ok? ps2 version, or gamecube, dosent matter too much to me. thanks. or, like you said, I could just cross my fingers and hope for the best.
I (sadly) don’t have a ps4 or Xbox one controller to try this (sorry!) but I’ll check out your game soon!
@@RetroZoltan I'm sure a quick google search could help me with the controller situation, but I cant find anything about the game. thanks man! I'm subscribing.
@@RetroZoltan ah, I found out that I can use a different controller. Bluetooth. I guess it makes sense since its based around an android.
Good info thank you. I tried PS2 version of Pac-Man World last night and it failed. Going to try another ROM and GameCube one also. More soon.
@@RetroZoltan hey, I forgot to ask, what was wrong with the game? Didn't start? Or was laggy?
Will it run without the SD card? Because I'm gonna buy the cheaper one without the SD
Yes you can. Treat it like an android tablet pretty much.
@@RetroZoltan Alright thank you, nice video anyway as always
@@gershonvillamor4490buy the sd card if you’re not familiar with installing roms, makes it instantly useable for newbies
Is not Zoltan from the movie Big?
That’s Zoltar my cousin.
I got 128 GB one does it have all the games it says it has
It should if where you got it is reputable. I think it’s hard to screw up with 128GB
I have a big problem with my powkiddy x55 , its on my last video can anh one help ???
The problem have been for monthe😊
Describe your problem in the x55 video comments and maybe we can help?
I just the rg405v and I can’t play any of psp….. when I click on the games I get a screen that says ppsspp how can I fix it….
Curious. Did you buy this new? It’s loading like it’s loading the proper emulator but not the game. Did it come with the PSP games or did you add your own?
I bought it new…. The games were already in it but they don’t load… all I get is the ppsspp on the screen…. Thanks for replying back maybe you can help me fix this
This doesn’t happen out of the box normally so I’m guessing something went wrong. How are you loading your games? Though the RG menu?
How do I remove the on screen controls on ds etc?
Try getting into the menu by pressing “menu” (which is on bottom middle screen), then “options” then “virtual game pad” then turn down “controller impact” all the way to zero.
Controls on screen will still work but you can’t see them. The menu button can still be found in same place too.
Most systems (not DS) will make the controls graphics vanish after a few seconds of gameplay. A few do t (like the DS emulator)
Unless if your using RetroArch?
Is there a way to have the Amernic game menu load up by default? I don’t want to see that horrible android os 😂
You know … that is a really good question! Let me find out … and I don’t blame you for feeling this way!
Ok good news! When you choose the Anbernic menu it’s like that for life until you switch back.Reboot and it goes right back into it! Hope that helps!
@@RetroZoltan yes! That does, going to get one now. One thing I love about the RG35XX was the menu, nice and simple.
Are these preloaded games? It better be. Also, this is basically a modified Nintendo switch.
Yes these are preloaded on the SD that’s included. I’m guessing this MAY vary depending on where you get it though. Modified Nintendo Switch? Probably … i need to get one of those (or make one)!
My buddy bought the V so I might buy the M just so we can compare. Lol
The V is great! Depends on which form factor pleases you
Cannot play Burnout dominator on Ps2, so sad
I wonder if it can on RetroArch under a different core (if there is one). I’ll have to fiddle with that and see
@@RetroZoltan Thanks!
unlike Odin2 it cannot play 3ds or Switch games.. hey you asked.
Lol I did!
Oh man I have to get my hands on an Odin2
Nice can't wait for a review.. new orders prob won't be received until end of Dec realistically.
Good video man, im on the fence on whether to buy one or not if i do buy one, the option of 128gb is correct with preloaded games right? Also is it easy to add more games onto it if i wish?
Thanks!! Depending on where you buy it from will have different options. Most likely though it will come with 128gb of games. Adding games is supported of course, and easy.
Thanks, just one more question where would you recommend buying it from? Droix?
