    • @yaojo27
      @yaojo27 Год назад +3

      @@oktaecyoong You can assign different programs to each knob so that it can be adjusted without affecting other volumes. You can have games set to the first, communications set to the second, and media to the third. So rather than adjusting volume through settings menus, you can just turn the knob. Depending on the mixer, you would need to assign it through whatever program you're using, but it's a one-and-done setup.

    If you're looking for something to control volume like that but perhaps more powerful, you can use midi controllers that connect via usb c which essentially control the windows mixer from software.
    Look up pcpanel mini or turn up mixer if you want it on the desk.
    The software lets you set knobs to specific apps, the in focus app, multiple apps on one knob, master sound, individual sound devices, ect. and the buttons can be set to cycle sound devices, switch to specific device, toggle devices, mute, play, next ect.

    • @HelloDavid

      It was mainly a physical space constraint that required me to switch it to the other side. (Due to the longer desk, which would cause the Cabinet to block my closet) I am liking the change (maybe a little less heat on a hot sunny day) but that's not to say I may not switch back again in the future.

    Great to see that someone is focusing on ergonomics and other things which really matters instead of RGB lighting and other trends. I remember watching your videos when I was buying my electric table, I have really enjoyed how I can adjust the height according to the situation (gaming, eating, standing, measuring blood pressure...). I am not surprised that you are using the same keyboard I have, although I bought it in white, which makes it easier to use in a dark room without keyboard lights turned on, the battery life is amazing. Now I am looking for monitor arms for my two monitors. That amazon one on your other video didn't look too bad. I noticed you are keeping your computer on a separate table, did you use extra long cables? I have kept my computer on my desk because I adjust the height, but it would really make my desk look better, if computer could be on another table. Maybe I need to check my wires and see if it is possible.

    The only thing I would say is the laptop tray. Amazon's one is basically a solid sheet of metal that blocks air flow. It would be fine for lower power laptops like XPS, but if you decide to buy a performance laptop in the future, you way want to get a laptop tray with a more open design. I believe Vivo has one.
    Another thing is, what stopping you from using a dual monitor arm + laptop tray instead? That will make the setup even more cleaner isn't it?

    Very nice setup David!
    And props for focusing on audio quality. That's probably the main aspect I focus on when doing my setups. You can have a gorgeous display like the C2, but with crappy audio the break in immersion is jarring. On the other hand, even with a basic monitor/tv, a high quality audio setup will still allow you to be lost in whatever media you're into, be it video games or movies/tv shows.

    Consider a DAC upgrade for your listening. It will do better than the solution you show here and let those new speakers sing! I just got the Topping DX 5

    I swear to God I see a desk setup video of yours every week, but somehow you only make them every year. I've seen 12 so far

    I suggest building a custom keyboard! Lately it's been very accessible and it seems like something you'd be interested in

    Bro, get a DAC, it will improve your sound a lot. The AMP amplifies your sound quality (for good and bad). So either just put headphone into PC jack, or use DAC + amp. Not worth use amp only. Also, level the speaker to your hair level will improve sound quality a lot. And if you want more immersion for cheap. Get a multichannel DAC with a subwoofer, and mount 2 speakers behide you. I get the whole PC speaker sound system done for 300 CAD used. It gives me a cinema experience, as I use a big, cheap monitor.

    Considering your setup is very specific to a windows laptop, let me suggest you wait for the Asus fold 17” oled. I think it is perfect for your setup

    Do you think you could do a more in-depth video of the wiring and what it looks like switching between Laptop and PC? Trying to work on a similar set up for myself

    I've used so many tips from this channel & recommend it. Always has something helpful in each vid. I like the cable sleeves. For the cuttable cable covers, what is the brand you are using? I don't think there was a link for those. & what cable strap specifically if you don't mind? Edit: It has occurred to me that op has never answered a question yet, so there's...that.
