    I bought the otofix d1 lite but im gonna run this by the mechanics at work before I mess with it. Don't want to make something worse when I'm just trying to make things better.

    Best calibration is drive car normal till engine get warm.Stop on left corner on road and let car idle in DRIVE for 1 or 2 minutes.Swich engine off in DRIVE ignition ON position and press acelerator pedal down,hold for few minutes and put transmition in Park,relise pedal and ignition off. This is proper way of calibration of transmition and vehicle will get better preformance,because pedal,TPS and transmition is calibrated.I have ForScan software for ford which has many self testing procedure,but not for transmition self test.

    Should the transmission fluid be at operating temp before performing this? Seems like not as it wasn't mentioned in the procedure but thought is was worth asking about.

    • @thezombino6119
      @thezombino6119 6 месяцев назад

      Whether it's operating temp or not - the transmission has adaptive values based on temperature and some other data prospects.
      The engine will keep the transmission engaged at higher engine RPM's the cold the engine is. This is for emissions so that the engine reaches operating temperature quickly. Once that has been done, smooth easy shifting will follow and your transmission may adapt to how you are driving, braking, etc.
      Tldr; you can perform this at any temp.

    Got any way to do this without having to buy an expensive piece of E-junk to set another piece of expensive E-junk. Sure, everybody has an expensive Snap on tool. Any other way of doing this on an older car with the 41TE trans?

      @@hjer731 So that will connect to the access plug on an OBD-1 Chrysler A-604 trans? I tried one from O'Reilley's that was supposed to work but the kit didn't come with the proper trans diagnosis connector. It had one for the engine but not the trans. It's OBD-1 bub not OBD-2 and, as far as I can find out, only Chrysler made them. I have an Actron that was fairly cheap so tell me how I can hook it up when the connector on the trans access port is completely different than the one on the Actron. Please inform me.

      @@hussainquillmann9338 Fixed it because I wanted to. Old car with very low miles so why not. Gripe is with the old electronics systems, OBD-1 when everybody was doing their own thing. Electronics great but they can be very aggravating. Had to assume that the trans control modules that I located were old and old electronics slow down & fail to work properly. Solved the problem by locating a 3 speed trans that fit the engine & went that way. Only thing electronic on the 3 speed is the TCC control solenoid & that is mostly electric. All these new multi speed transmissions are totally clutch engagement (no bands) & have to be controlled by an electronic module which is in turn controlled by inputs from the ECM.

    Can I borrow your 10 thousand dollar scan tool?...JK.Why is this necessary?You are saying that simply changing the fluid can make the trans misbehave?Is this due to the viscosity change in the fluid?Also should this test be performed with trans at operating temp?...Where are you we have questions here?

      What he is doing is a quick learn. Disconnect the battery and reconnect t. Drive the car through all the gears and it’ll relearn pal. That’s what you can do. Doesn’t hurt to do this procedure after ANY transmission service or repair.

    • @dooleygank3942
      @dooleygank3942 5 дней назад

      Many vehicles do not reset the stored transmission values by disconnecting the battery. For example, after 2005 some Toyotas require the reset to be done by a scan tool/computer

    • @stevanzaharic

      You traying to say "smart custemer" to pay for self testing procedure for nothing which is not able to change nothing in transmition .If transmition has trouble codes it can be shift solenoids problems which cousing problems failing due to not regulate service of change of trasmition oil which course block of solenoids or leacking inside and some gears is failing in performance.
