Diesel Camper I just had this done to my Cherokee today cause it was shifting hard in 5th. I was concerned because it seemed to be driving a little odd after this was done. How long does it take usually ?
Great video, buddy. I'm replacing my PCM so I have to do the quick learn as well. Just curious if the EZDiag app is still pretty well supported. How much did you pay for it? Or did the software activation come with the Icarscan? Thanks!
can you change the tire size with that icarscan x431? because all I need to do is be able to trans relearn, tpms pressure change and tire size. if it cant do all 3 ill just get the alfa obd
I believe theres an option starting in 2006 to hold the transmission in 3 rd gear while towing. I have a 2005 like yours and when towing uphill I'm forever upshifting when I would rather it didn't . Is there an option on this Icarscan which will allow this? thanks for posting the vids
I haven't seen that option in the icarscan, but I'm pretty sure it exists on the DRBIII. I know it is an option on smarty UDC pro and I have it activated. Very nice to keep the gear hunting down.
Will this show the steering angle? I need to change my clock spring and I’ve been trying to find a reasonable priced scan tool to see this function on my 2010 Ram. Great video by the way.
Fantastic! Thank for the high quality videos! I can’t believe I’m just now finding your channel. What are your thoughts on using this scan tool to do the re learn on a stock transmission from BD Diesel? They sell a fully stock 68 RFE that only has a new valve body separator plate and pressure control module to deliver up to 250 PSI clutch apply pressure.
better do a learn with the new pressures. I have 2017 2500 with 68rfe and going to up grade the valve body with pressure controller . One video from ats mention having to do a quick learn because of modification. The guy in the video said anytime you do a transmission mod or truck engine mod, to do a quick learn or you can damage the tranny. So I'm researching scanners that do a quick learn so far this but I cant find the software for Icarscan, But the foxwell NT680Pro does it too. That scanner seems to a full diag professional scanner for $384, Icanscan is $235 plus you have to get the software plus their subscription cost
I wouldn't think so because it communicates with the tcm over the can c network. I don't see how the tuner could fry the tcm and not all the other items on the network. If there was a network problem your truck would go nuts too.
It is necessary after a rebuild or changing anything valve body related. The computer remembers how much fluid it takes to apply a clutch. Not doing a relearn after certain jobs can cause severe transmission damage.
I’m going to replace a solenoid pack in my 3.7L dodge nitro. Do I have to take it in to a shop and have them do a quick learn / relearn. If so would it be ok to drive it there myself. Will it self learn and if so how long will it take? What is the best way to go about it?
I Cesar, if it has an rfe transmission then yes, you need a relearn. If the shop is close I have been told by one of the engineers that worked on those transmissions you'll be OK, just drive easy.
This tells me something...your average oil covered street mechanic doesn't have a clue of what he's doing, these videos are so nice to see
Is this tool still available
Hi is working too for Chrysler pasifica 2006, re learn transmission
Nicely done - thanks!
Also wondering if this would work on a 42rle
Do you know if the launch 129e scanner tool has the quick learn function?
Is it necessary after replacing solenoid Package?
from what I understand two transmission shops said it has to be done.. it seems like mine needs it after the Solenoid pak was replaced
Do you have a link to this tool?
Diesel Camper, where did you buy this? The cheapest I found is 300.00 on ebay
I just looked on Ebay and its 500+
Awsome video. So I have to do a relearn if I put a new solenoid in my 68rfe. Thanks
Where can we purchase this scanner?
Will the transmission have to go through a whole learning how you drive process ?
Yes but the quicklearn will start that process properly.
Diesel Camper I just had this done to my Cherokee today cause it was shifting hard in 5th. I was concerned because it seemed to be driving a little odd after this was done. How long does it take usually ?
does it do key fob programming , can it pull the key code from the vin or does it need the current key fob to program a new one
How exactly would this work on a truck which is deleted and tuned and with trans tuning? Like Weston M I’m also running an H&S Mini Maxx
Should be fine.
Nice video quality :). Wonder, what camera did you use?
That was a galaxy S5. I'm using a pixel 2xl now.
Can this tool quick learn 6l80 and 62te as well?

thanks, I was considering smarty UDC for tweaking and tuning anyway. that'll work out well! cheers
It's recommended to put the gear shifter in "3". This will stop you from upshifting when towing.
@@Giovanniko1 If I had that option I would
Where can I buy this tool?
I think I got it on Amazon

I'm really not sure, you'd have to see if it's listed on their website.
@@DieselCamper Yes use the LEFT handed Sky Hook
Burton Yeager launch Diagun x431 or thinkdiag
is this the US Launch version or the Chinese version and have you had any problems since this video ?
Chinese, when I purchased it I didn't know there was a difference.
@@DieselCamper like it or not ?
If i change the transsmision fluid i need to has that procces?
Well thanks for your video
No this is not necessary for a fluid change.
Could give a link to where to get this?
Where can I find the app for download. Thanks

@@RobRocker09what did you end up getting
@@donkintz281 Went to Rev max and got the their valve body, they test it to 350 lb pressure before they ship it, then did a quicklearn
I mean what scanner did you get
Could a minimax tuner have anything to do with my Tcm getting fried . We deleted it and it burned a couple clutches and fried the tcm
I wouldn't think so because it communicates with the tcm over the can c network. I don't see how the tuner could fry the tcm and not all the other items on the network. If there was a network problem your truck would go nuts too.
can you change factory settings like enable day time running lights ect with this tool?
Sure can.
@@DieselCamper you wouldnt happen to have a link or place to get the app and obd bluetooth connector by any chance?
Do you have to use the x431 or can you use any ELM327?
X431. Elm327 only does obd protocol.
Will it show you the transmission CVI numbers for each clutch pack?
I'm not sure, I don't have access to an rfe truck anymore
DJDDDTECH it will show LR, UD, and OD CVI numbers. But it’s better than nothing.
Does this thing have vgt actuator calibration?
www.x431.com/news/newsShowAction.do?id=1917
On line 2 it mentions turbo actuator calibration so I think it does! 👍
Seems like it does a lot of things, I shall start saving my pennies for one of these.
Yeah, if you assume each option or test you have the dealer perform would be $100 then you can see how fast this thing pays for itself.
No kidding
Diesel Camper one more question, does it have gauges/datalogging?
where can I get one of these scan tools
Will it work on 65 and the 66 rfe for 2013 ram1500
It should work on all rfe models
What is the reason for doing this?
It is necessary after a rebuild or changing anything valve body related. The computer remembers how much fluid it takes to apply a clutch. Not doing a relearn after certain jobs can cause severe transmission damage.
@@DieselCamper thanks. So, this only applies after transmission changes/repair.
Will this work on a 2012 with a 68rfe?
Sure will.

$200

so after a couple of years what is your opinion of the x431 ?
Still use it but I have a dedicated android phone for it because newer versions of android dont work.
