    Excellent visual reference using the alignment rods and how they “touch” at impact, not before, using hip rotation. Thank you!

    Hello, for Thailand, I always watch videos of Clay Ballard and it helps me to improve my golf game. Great value for self-improved golfers. Thank you so much for your advice on all videos.

    Until I purchased the recommended divot board, this video really didn’t click for me. Now that I’m getting instant feedback I can see immediately how fluid spine results in more consistent solid strikes. Normally I had perhaps 40% good ball strikes and the other 60% were either way forward or more often 6 inches behind the ball. After just 2 sessions I’m now getting 90%+ solid strikes. I’ve learned more valuable techniques here than all of my personal instructor lessons combined. Love these videos!

    I love the advice. I noticed that you lift your left foot and rotate your toes down range to open your hips. I have started to try and open my left foot to open my hips so I don’t feel stuck and to take that torque off my left knee. Great video as always!

    Hey Clay,
    Fantastic advice, and thanks so much for video. Your advice has given me lots of power, but the wrist cupping and power position has brought to life a nasty hook. Any advice for this?

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  3 года назад +1

      Hard to say without seeing your swing but it sounds like you're flipping turning the handle to close the face. Feel like your hands are more in front of the ball at impact and the club is releasing out in front.

    This is exactly what I do aka my hips come into the ball. I have been struggling with this for years. 2 instructors basically gave up on me, but I haven't. In my practice swing I don't do it. Put a golf ball there and I do. The struggle continues. Clay have you seen people with a proper practice swing vs when a golf ball is there?

    In regards to your instructions at about 650 in. Holding the lag and releasing late. I do remember you had a previous video that goes against that. Slamming a hammer down or axe from the top..almost casting from the top but it’s the body rotation that brings the club into the ball. Can you clarify? Thank you.

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  3 года назад +1

      You want to get that club lagging behind then release it out in front. So, there is a casting motion. You're just casting the club toward the target instead of at the ball. Hope that makes sense.

    I find I actually hit much more consistently by hitting ALL irons from the middle spot between my legs.....rather than moving forward for longer irons. I find it much easier to get good consistent contact that way....and never duff by hitting behind the ball.

    If you lag correct you will be releasing instead of flipping the club changing the course of your hips arms and wrists. Set up and lag will lead to the other things falling in place. Dont fish.

    This is confusing step one talks about staying in posture and getting close the the ball and not falling out then 345 talk about your weight and center of balance falling away or staying behind the ball

    This explains why football is more popular than golf. The 11 man roster is replaced by an 11 point plan that happens in 1.2 seconds of a swing.

      @@TopSpeedGolf I have no doubt that a young, strong, flexible athlete with great hands can pull it off most of the time (which is why a few tour players tried it early on before abandoning it) - that isnt who stands to benefit from RUclips lessons. If you give this to a 60 year old 15 handicap at 70mph with driver he will never get it off the ground.
      Also, Speith is done for man. He had 3 seasons that he couldn't miss a putt, and now that he's putting like a mortal his terrible swing and less than 60% GIR (251st) have completely removed him from the conversation. Sure, he'll catch fire with the putter sometimes. That short-right psuedo-planned block from 150 can only hope to compete if he makes 25 footers all day every day.
      Now, Clay's move isnt all that similar to Speith EXCEPT that the club is way behind him. Clay relies on having good hands (wont last forever bud) which is better than Speith who sets his hands weak and drags the club behind him with his chest trying to do nothing at all with his hands. At least Clay is swinging the thing, Jordan steer-shoves the ball.
      I never mean to throw shade, by the way. I enjoy the conversation and I cant help but speak up when I see a great athlete teaching average players a feel swing.
