We have a 3 yr. old cream colored Frenchie, Louis. He is so precious! He has no idea that Frenchie’s don’t swim well. He swims with my 7 yr. old yellow Labrador, Spencer, and tries to keep up with him. They are inseparable! He’s a maniac! The energy is incredible and he’s extremely smart, as well!
I actually love that he is over protective of ur daughter. He loves you and ur husband so much that he loves ur baby like you guys do. It's cute that he trys to play with her too lol
Same here! I had to back it up and watch again. Mine is afraid of the gate because it fell over once and freaked her out. Now when it isn’t even up, and leaning against the wall she will bark like a maniac at it, like she’s telling it off. She expects it to move. I’ll run in and shake the gate, and she will jump straight up and run away. A few minutes later, she comes back to repeat the entire thing. They are absolutely the craziest, funniest, most annoying and ADORABLE pups ever!!! My heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved your video. I have a French Bulldog (Oliver). Almost everything you have said is Oliver. We were very lucky he was house trained at 3 maths. He does have high anxiety when one of us leaves. We put him with a gate in a bedroom when we have to leave. He is a barker though and very protective of us. I have been saying we are going to get training for him and still have not done it yet. He’s a lot of work but we love him. Thanks again for your video.
I finally found a Frenchie who’s like ours - quite active and a jumper as well! I’ve been having suspicions that we got a mixed one despite looking exactly like a frenchie because of this behavior. We’ve been expecting a lazy dog but we got a very playful one instead :)
We have had it happen to several different dogs. Type I and Type 2 for French Bullies and 1 & 2 for a Pugs for me our pugs have been easy to potty train not our Frenchies. I know a breeder that swears that one of the owners needs to tinkle in a jar and let sit overnight then in AM take them outside on YOUR OWN PROPERTY And pour the human urine where you want your puppy to tinkle and pretty quickly you’re teaching them were to go…I haven’t tried it yet but next dog we will try it with a jar. My husband is going to need some convincing but like I said first it’s put into a jar.
I just watched a video & the guy said that male frenchies are a lot harder to train than females. Also it’s so sweet how he looks at your daughter& he’s a gorgeous boy!

He is adorable! My granddog ( Frenchton, half frenchy and half boston) is one if the lights of my life! He ate the arm of my couch when left alone with just his bro, at my house.
We've had two Frenchies and we loved them both. They have such wonderful personalities. Sadly, they both passed away recently because of normal health issues. Bijou, our female was nine when she became our angel. Lafayette, was ten and died rather suddenly from liver disease about a month later. Thank you for your post. It, and you, made me smile. Enjoy Ghost(?) and appreciate every day you have with him. Also, after about five years of age, have him checked regularly for liver disease. It's symptoms are common for many health issues which aren't serious. But, if not caught early, can be fatal.
Just rescued a Fawn Blue Frenchie through a friend. First two days we had some understandable potty accidents, since then perfect. She is the chill kind and a total cuddle monster. Pup cups and manicures for us Miss Cookie❤❤❤

I respect that you clean your dog's folds. I've seen another French bulldog owner on RUclips that doesn't, and you can see the skin infecting. The owner is just lazy.
It can be impossible to clean their folds, trim nails, clean ears, paste on nose and brush teeth cause mine WILL NOT let us touch those areas. He had to be sedated every 3-4 months to get it done. It’s not always a lazy owner… please don’t judge.. we love our dogs that’s were the $$ comes in guys

I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful video. We have a new female Frenchie named Bean. She is 16 weeks old. Our previous dogs were Boston terriers. Pretty much everything you said was spot on. I’m a little concerned because we have stairs and we have a swimming pool. I knew they could not swim so I put our fence up around the pool. But I’m worried about our stairs. I do have back issues and I don’t believe that my husband and I are going to be able to carry up and downstairs a dog all the time. And in the future we’d like to get a second one. I love the way ghost is with your daughter that is absolutely precious. I think Bean is a combination of wild crazy adventurous stubborn and then chill with my husband on his lap for hours. I’m not one to lay down on the couch. But she currently is laying in my lap chewing on a stick while I review this video. We’re working on it. Thank you once again it would be great if you could do some more videos of how things are going. Congratulations on your beautiful new daughter!

My Willow Grace demands my attention, she wants to play, so she keeps grabbing my phone! To all the Frenchie parents "Love your special little fur-babies, they are so worth the Xtra mile! I believe frenchies are the sweetest little bundles of joy that turn your life upside down with laughter, happiness, and more unconditional Love than a parent can ask for - they give so much more than they take! Frenchie owners are very special also,! We go above and beyond to do the very best for our babies! I know for myself I would do ANYTHING!! For my baby girl, if I can just show her just a "tiny, Mynute, smidgen, of the pure Love, Joy,and peace that she gives me on a daily basis then I'm not ever going to possibly pay that back to her- but I will keep trying, every single day!

Hi! Just stumbled across this video and I’m in love with ghost!!!! I have a 9 month old frenchie female... and she’s a MONSTER 🖤she is everything you described in this video. She drives me so crazy but I love her so much! And now that I’m back working at the office, my house walls are chewed!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Currently looking for a male friend to keep her company... Also they are predisposed to IVDD which is “Intertribal Disc Disease” . Get pet insurance before they get injuries because it can get very very expensive. We have a shorty bull and he was very active jumping off beds, sofas going up and down stairs. One day he hurt his back and was in enormous pain became paralyzed. He has surgery that cost us $10,000 and that’s not including therapy. Luckily after two months he’s was able to walk. He’s not 100% but he is independent and we go for long walks. He can run and actually jump but is out of the question because if his back.
Probably the most vocal breed. Our little Jade is a diva. She has amazing dexterity and athleticism for such a small dog. I’ve seen her bounce a tennis 🎾 ball off the garage wall three times with her nose without letting it hit the ground. They are truly amazing little dogs. She knew instinctively from day one with us to sleep all night and was potty trained by herself. I call her a mini me of her mother my wife as they are inseparable and so much alike. My Boxer dog Rocky and Jade get along fabulously. When Jade gets near a picnic spot or trail we will hike that she anticipates she goes into meltdown mode in excitement for getting going. The howls and fuss is a Frenchy thing.

I have a blue bridle too, loves the water but wont swim (front heavy). It cost me a couple thousand dollars for soft pallet resection and opening the nares...breathing so much better. eyeball ulcers are common with them, so when rubbing the eye..off to the vet.. Internal hernias are also fairly common. I feed mine vrain free food..no more digestive upsets (you know what I mean). Great video btw.

My frenchie is exactly the same temperament wise, does not stop he would play all day! Am quite lucky as in he doesn’t have separation anxiety, he can do 7 hours whilst am at work an he just happily sleeps in his crate in the kitchen, gets up now and again for a little stretch an a play with his toy then back in his bed! He does get spoilt otherwise as he then goes everywhere with me after that! Other than that the rest is pretty accurate.

My mum's Frenchie has same personality and looks it's unbelievable. That said my mum got the same trainer the queen uses for her Corgi's and even that couldn't train the stubborn nature out of him while something more exciting is around.

I agree, Frenchies add up. Our little guy is spoiled, his set up cost us 2k and dog training has cost 3k the the Veterinarian has not been expensive, he is healthy. He is now 7 months old and we love him to death. The only other expensive investment is his nutrition and his supplements. Our large breed outside dogs never cost us so much. With this little guy we are always worried about heat or dognapping.
Did you just swear?, we have five of these dogs in our family and none of them have had health issues,one of them is 8 years old, any dog can get ill at any time just like humans, their folds do not need cleaning as much as that, I wash and clip my dog myself, yes these dogs do get anxiety but you do not need to get another dog, they do get used to being alone with training, these dogs are very cleaver and are easy to train, (good training..... good dog......happy dog).
You forgot about the farts!! Its every day, every hour they are always farting no matter what their food is. A Vet friend of mine told me they all do it and its because their intestines have no space and its all curve inside, that is what cause the gas!! I had 2 and it was toxic, but we loved them so much we didn’t care. But is good to know.
I changed my Lilys food to a turkey & Venison type no more clearing the room out farts! Its the beef even the lamb gives my frenchie those contant farts try and see if this works for your frenchie
Frenchies are wonderful but yes they are companion dogs. They NEED people. Ghost seems perfect for your family and I’m glad everything has worked out so well but I would caution not to let frenchies learn their own lessons the hard way...They are confident dogs, sometimes over confident, and there will be some experiences that may very well kill them, it’s not worth it to give them free range near an ocean and hope they learn, if they fail there will be no lessons learned, just a dead dog.
This was very helpful. :) I just brought a one year old blue/brindle Frenchie home today from the shelter to foster and see if he can be rehabbed before I adopt. (he bit a child who got between him and his food) I think he must have been overstimulated. So far he has been very sweet and lazy.... LOL.

I just subscribed, and I want to thank you for this video! I think Frenchies are absolutely adorable and was talking about them with my husband. We have 2 very healthy 6 year old Pitties and they're my world but, I also like to learn about other dogs. Thank you for your channel! They are a lot of work but so worth it!
Also they are predisposed to IVDD which is “Intertribal Disc Disease” . Get pet insurance before they get injuries because it can get very very expensive. We have a shorty bull and he was very active jumping off beds, sofas going up and down stairs. One day he hurt his back and was in enormous pain became paralyzed. He has surgery that cost us $10,000 and that’s not including therapy. Luckily after two months he’s was able to walk. He’s not 100% but he is independent and we go for long walks. He can run and actually jump but is out of the question because if his back.

Probably the most vocal breed. Our little Jade is a diva. She has amazing dexterity and athleticism for such a small dog. I’ve seen her bounce a tennis 🎾 ball off the garage wall three times with her nose without letting it hit the ground. They are truly amazing little dogs.
She knew instinctively from day one with us to sleep all night and was potty trained by herself.
I call her a mini me of her mother my wife as they are inseparable and so much alike.
My Boxer dog Rocky and Jade get along fabulously.
When Jade gets near a picnic spot or trail we will hike that she anticipates she goes into meltdown mode in excitement for getting going. The howls and fuss is a Frenchy thing.

I have a blue bridle too, loves the water but wont swim (front heavy). It cost me a couple thousand dollars for soft pallet resection and opening the nares...breathing so much better. eyeball ulcers are common with them, so when rubbing the eye..off to the vet.. Internal hernias are also fairly common. I feed mine vrain free food..no more digestive upsets (you know what I mean). Great video btw.

My frenchie is exactly the same temperament wise, does not stop he would play all day! Am quite lucky as in he doesn’t have separation anxiety, he can do 7 hours whilst am at work an he just happily sleeps in his crate in the kitchen, gets up now and again for a little stretch an a play with his toy then back in his bed! He does get spoilt otherwise as he then goes everywhere with me after that! Other than that the rest is pretty accurate.
since becoming a stay at home mom his anxiety has gotten way better!

My mum's Frenchie has same personality and looks it's unbelievable. That said my mum got the same trainer the queen uses for her Corgi's and even that couldn't train the stubborn nature out of him while something more exciting is around.

I agree, Frenchies add up. Our little guy is spoiled, his set up cost us 2k and dog training has cost 3k the the Veterinarian has not been expensive, he is healthy. He is now 7 months old and we love him to death. The only other expensive investment is his nutrition and his supplements. Our large breed outside dogs never cost us so much. With this little guy we are always worried about heat or dognapping.

Did you just swear?, we have five of these dogs in our family and none of them have had health issues,one of them is 8 years old, any dog can get ill at any time just like humans, their folds do not need cleaning as much as that, I wash and clip my dog myself, yes these dogs do get anxiety but you do not need to get another dog, they do get used to being alone with training, these dogs are very cleaver and are easy to train, (good training..... good dog......happy dog).

You forgot about the farts!! Its every day, every hour they are always farting no matter what their food is. A Vet friend of mine told me they all do it and its because their intestines have no space and its all curve inside, that is what cause the gas!! I had 2 and it was toxic, but we loved them so much we didn’t care. But is good to know.
Air filters work wonders for these breeds. LOL

I changed my Lilys food to a turkey & Venison type no more clearing the room out farts! Its the beef even the lamb gives my frenchie those contant farts try and see if this works for your frenchie

Frenchies are wonderful but yes they are companion dogs. They NEED people.
Ghost seems perfect for your family and I’m glad everything has worked out so well but I would caution not to let frenchies learn their own lessons the hard way...They are confident dogs, sometimes over confident, and there will be some experiences that may very well kill them, it’s not worth it to give them free range near an ocean and hope they learn, if they fail there will be no lessons learned, just a dead dog.

This was very helpful. :) I just brought a one year old blue/brindle Frenchie home today from the shelter to foster and see if he can be rehabbed before I adopt. (he bit a child who got between him and his food) I think he must have been overstimulated.
So far he has been very sweet and lazy.... LOL.
OH no, we have worked so hard with both our dog and child to prevent that from happening.
