Supply and demand in dynamic action. Questions: Where ARE the legitimate cab drivers? None appear in the video. How much would enforcement of this situation cost? Be smart! Uber and Lyft drivers do not solicit you.
Taxi companies should do something about it!
They do this in Atlanta, too. I've flown there to visit in-laws. My fiancee and I are from Broward, originally. BSO is a bad joke. So corrupt, reactionary, and retaliatory. Unfortunately, the counterpart Sheriff's offices and local PD's in just about every county and city in FL is corrupt.
People don’t want to pay more in taxes, don’t expect the government to have more employees for parking enforcement. It’s simple.
Funny enough, the city missing out on taxes is why it's illegal. Hey! They claim it is for safety but its bs.
These scammers are such scumbags but let's be real actual Ubers are better because literally NO ONE is calling taxis anymore. Why would I want to pay $70+ for a ride home when I can pay $15 on Uber/Lyft.
Trying to get to Miami & end 🆙 in Pompano. Once someone is assaulted or killed or a bad accident happens it won’t 🛑
How difficult is it to put up signs informing passengers that it is an illegal practice, and to call x number if asked if you need a ride?
the greatest free country in the world...
greatest B S.. ever..
All fools these people are up to know good i wouldn't trust it
when you make laws and make people jump hoops to abide by the law then you need to have inforcment
Apparently people never watched the Film "Taken"
Umm...the Public Information Officer just publicly said the airport cannot "control the entire span of a curbside"?
FLL has 3 terminals and one U-shaped roadway that connects all 3.
Besides illegal private cabs, that is a serious safety issue.
Yeah, she's full of it because seconds later she goes on to explain that there is a 7 person team that patrols the entire curbside lol. She means that it's too small of an issue for them to focus on at the moment. Of course, until someone is robbed or worse.
There are 4 terminals, learn how complex the airport is before you comment on anything...
Yesssssss that happen to me the other day a gentleman walked up to me and said I’m a Uber and taxi if you need a ride
This is very dangerous, smh
Supply and demand in dynamic action. Questions: Where ARE the legitimate cab drivers? None appear in the video. How much would enforcement of this situation cost? I’m guessing at least three or four permanent officers with authority to write citations. That ain’t cheap, and it IS a factor.
(The above being said, we booked a legit Uber driver on the Uber app to get from MIA -> FLL on 1/19, and had a very good experience. He explained how much he has to pay, both to use the airports and the tollway connecting the two cities.)
Umm you're not the sharpest tool in the shed huh....clearly there were licensed taxi drivers interviewed in this video and it showed them staging in their designated area, waiting patiently, following the rules. If only general public and airport leadership could do the same. Why anyone would get in a private car with a random stranger soliciting you on the sidewalk just to save a few bucks is bonkers to me.
i bet u those illegal drivers wont long haul u like a taxi driver would
Same happens at the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentuck Airport ( CVG).
Where are airport officials???
At your mom's house?
Lazy Cops!!!
Well, this is one way to get kidnapped.
Wow..can’t leave car like that where’s the cops
So Flo has literally become a 3rd world country...smh
Legit Taxis need to take on these fakers.
it goes on because no one does their job anymore
Start fining thousands of bucks each time. Make it a felony on the 3rd time. Do something.
The real problem is the airport is for indicating taxi stand well enough
If you wanna take a ride from a stranger that’s not illegal
some of these driver with SUVs they dress nice and are professional i met one in 2012 and he's still my driver for me and my family's and I also recommend him to some friend's. share ride driver are the worst no English no patient's and not helpful. 1:16
Did the reporter turn over identifying footage and license plate numbers?
Media Let people work they not stealing and reportero do not dangerous there more things to said dangerous like Open border
make HARSHER penalities
Impound the vehicles and start deportation process. Then fine the airport for not enforcing the rules.
GET THE TAG # WHEN THEY PULL OFF FOR BSO
They can easily deny they were there with just the tag number.
They do that in the JFK AIRPORT. I DIDNT KNOW THAT WAS ILLEGAL lol
I'm sure they are lots of places they do that at airports all around the United States. Possibly at JFK and LaGuardia (LGA) international airports.
