@@zaccooper8356Purdy had a handful of bad throws. His throwing power is flat out inferior at this level. He didn't use Kittels. Deebo didn't help. Shanahan stopped running the ball in the 3rd. If you know you're going to run man defense all game you're going to need more 1st downs on offense.
Andy Reid - Mahomes is the Phil Jackson - MJ of this generation. No matter the circumstances, they will always find a way to win because they thrive in overcoming adversities. Hats off from a Niners fan
I am shocked by the short memories of some people (not meaning this podcast or anything). When they were down 10-3 at half, as a Chiefs fan, I was worried, but I was also like, "We have Mahomes, though." The memory issue is people not remembering just a few short years ago when SF had the Chiefs down by waaaay more than 7 points in the second half, and it was an amazing comeback to win. Did people forget that already? Haha. But yeah, the Chiefs offense was not nearly as good this year as the first SF-KC Super Bowl, so maybe that's what they were thinking.
@@Rosecain27 Lol, yeah, I thought that as I was clicking the "Reply" button, but I thought, fuggit, not editing. It felt way worse since it was later in the game, etc. Anyway, haha, it was done before, and a lot of people were like, "Never!" and I was just thinking... we've seen this before.
Yeah, it was only 10 points, but it felt WAY worse cuz Mahomes throwing those picks really late in the game....but SF just didn't take advantage of those opportunities and let KC hang around....and then Mahomes did what Mahomes does....also, to the 9ers fan that made initial comment, more NFL teams need classy fans like yourself. Good luck to yall in the '24-'25 season, from a lifelong KC native/fan🤙🏻
Bruh they were playing that single high safety like they think he hasn't grown. That shyt worked for Tampa in that SB cuz he had no o line ain't no team can do that again and it works😂
The difference was basically. 😅🤣😂😆 1. *Mahomes is a game changers. Brock Purdy is a game manager. Mahomes scored a TD from the 17 yard line. Purdy couldnt.* 2. *Defense wins championships. 49ers were stopped at the 17 yard line, and had to settle for a field goal. Chiefs didnt settle for a field goal and scored for the win.* 1. *Mahomes is a game changers. Brock Purdy is a game manager. Mahomes scored a TD from the 17 yard line. Purdy couldnt.*
It was vegas trying to keep the game close so more people bet on SF at the half .. a lot of people were taking the chiefs at the last minute for the game .. they had to get there money back somehow
@@TheIcemanthomas Last NBA playoffs, I heard that it was obvious the league was rigging the games for a Boston - LA final. Of course, they make a fortune by betting on those teams, right? Of all the ones that knew it was rigged for Taylor, did they bet all their money on it?
Most shocking thing for me was the 49ers final regulation drive when they took the lead. They have all the tools needed to drain the clock and KC's defense was exhausted! They chose not to dribble the ball down the field and attempt a game winning field goal. Yes, they needed to score, but with that many weapons on offense I was surprised. You can't leave that much time on the clock against a Mahomes offense. That is when I new Andy Reid would once again, "Mahomes" the 49ers.
Unironically one of the best Super Bowls in my lifetime. Nice balance between defense in the beginning and offense towards the end, pretty good overall officiating, and my favorite team won as the cherry on top. Fun fact: Patrick Mahomes averaged more yards per rushing attempt than per pass attempt in this game (7.3 vs. 7.2). A lot of that running came as he was slicing right through the Niners' D in the 4th and OT to help seal his MVP case.
sigh, I didnt see a fair game, I saw a great game, but not fair. From the shitty practice field that was 45min drive form hotel that may have caused Greenlaws and Debo's injuries to the non-existing holding calls that allowed Mahomes to run a million yards. It was close, 9ers need to be angry about this. Team with the better record should be home imo. Not this AFC NFC toggle crap. Or NFL needs to allow 9ers to share the field
I think the best thing SF did all day was containing Pacheco. He never got more than 10 yards..but then again McCaffrey never got more than 11 yards. It was a GREAT Super Bowl!
Mahomes got 66 rushing yards on 9 carries. How many times has he bailed the Chiefs out with his legs in big games? Defenses cant seem to account for that part of his game.
@@felixrodriguez7423because he’s subtle about it. so dangerous with the arm you can’t account for it. the play call to let him run off a fake draw for 20 yards was straight fire. haven’t called that play literally all year but mahomes and reid are them dudes

Quarterbacks are so important. This is why you do anything to find a Legendary one. You can have Hofers at every position but if you don’t have a qb nothing else matters. Mahomes is so special.
That's just dumb. Let's be completely honest, if that punt doesn't hit that guy's heel, the narrative of this game is probably that mahomes couldn't make much happen. The panthers had an insanely game changing qb and lost to the superior defense. Denver had manning and one of the greatest offenses ever and lost to the superior defense. Mahomes lost to Tampa who had the best defense. And although mahomes ultimately won this game, his defense is the only thing that made it possible.
@@luxxus242It’s not how good the QB is as much as how much value you get out of the QB considering their salary. Brady won by taking much less than his value. Aaron hasn’t won since getting paid. Pat on the other hand is the only outlier. Two of his 3 Super Bowl wins he has the highest cap % in nfl history. Teams actually overpay QBs.
As a niner fan, i am heartbroken but i have to give it up to mahomes for that game winning drive. Mahomes is really this generations brady. He is so clutch. I can live with this loss. But damn it hurts.
It was such a Battle for the ages! 😮 Maybe the first game that was played at that level ⚡⚡⚡ you wish that none of the teams would lose ❤❤ I foresee a rematch brother ❤❤🎉
49ers had a ton of opportunities, three critical mistakes and terrible play calling in the second half allowed Mahomes to do his thing. KC gave them opportunities and didn't take advantage. Overall a sloppy game from both sides. But you can't be the sloppier team against Mahomes.
mahomes was shut down for most of the game until taking advantage of a lucky break in field position where a muffed punt off the back of an SF defenders leg put KC in perfect scoring position. Andy Reid's play calling and Kyles inability to make adjustments was the only thing keeping KC in that game. a bizarre boring game with key 49er players on defense going down without contact and a missed extra point that would have ended the game in regulation. SF got a taste of their own medicine after getting outplayed by Detroit and losing the same happened to them in the Superbowl
Jimmy G took this team to the Super Bowl, and look where he is now. It's really hard to say Purdy is great when Jimmy G took them to the Super Bowl too...
@@platoniczombietrue but if you look into it just a bit. There is a big difference. Purdy only in his 2nd season progressed much more than Jimmy g in his second season in the NFL. Jimmy g was on the bench. Then, if you even look at Jimmy g as a starter. He put up average numbers compared to Purdy. Purdy was MVP candidate. Was Jimmy g ever in that conversation lol? 9ers came much closer to winning super bowl than Jimmy g. Jimmy g stats awful in super bowl vs a bad chiefs defense while Purdy played good vs a real good chiefs defense.
Purdy did his job fine. Mahomes was given a much harder assignment and excelled. His one major early mistake was more than made up for with his awesome play later on.
When the 49ers had the ball, a black San Francisco fan at the sportsbook I watched the game at kept yelling in the 4th quarter and overtime "give the BALL to the WHITE GUY; GIVE the ball to the WHITE GUY!". It was pretty funny

Still not better then the 2000 ravens they gave up 165 points in 16 games that will never be touched. Only gave up 5.8 points in the playoffs in 4 games. Once KC or anyone does that I be impressed.
Thsnk you guys for giving spags his kidos! He deserves to be in the HoF as a defensive coordinator. He beat that undefeated patriots team with the Giants, and now has helped carry this Chiefs dynasty. Put the man in the hall.
Seriously. 4 rings as a coordinator is up there. One potential reason for hope is the selection of Devin Hester-it shows modern voters care more about positional/situational excellence and not just stats at a nominal position. If you grade Hester as a wide receiver it's not even an argument, he doesn't belong; but as a returner, he does. With Spags, if you grade him as a head coach, he's one of the worst ever, but as a coordinator, he's one of the best.
49ers had the game at the 2 minute warning. They were 4 yards from essentially clinching the game. Chiefs dialed the perfect blitz and Purdy never saw it coming.
Yeah, but i don't put that on Purdy. It's the coaches job to see the blitz coming and they had timeouts available that they should have used if they suspected the Blitz.
Purdy saw it coming. That's why it wasnt a sack. The fact that they were allowing free runners all game is indefensible. Purdy could've been a little better, but he was set up to fail in a lot of different spots.
Wish I’d of seen more of the Chiefs D on post game interviews. I love Mahomes but the KC D is the real MVP of the SB AND kept em in it the rest of the season. Good shit boys.
I'm not sure SF outplayed KC this game. KC had way more passing yards, more rushing yards, the longest rush of the day, the longest reception of the day, ZERO missed kicks, longer punts, both teams 2 turnovers. The only stat I see where SF was better was they sacked Mahomes 3x for 8 yards. SF missing that extra point was devastating..can't do that in the Playoffs / Super Bowl ask the Bills.
Shanahan on those first two drives of the second half, with excellent field of possession, ran the ball 0 times up 10-3. Guy still hasn’t figured it out in the big game - falls in love with the kill shot
I want to thank Colin and John as I have listened to you all season, and it was a real pleasure. That was an amazing season and Super Bowl. And kudos to Mahomes and the Chiefs. When the playoffs started and you tell any team that they had to get thru Miami, Buffalo, Baltimore, and SF that is amazing. It reminds me of those old Chinese Shaolin Temple films where you have to go thru this maze of god-like monks. I look forward to next season already. Enjoy the summer. Yes I know Colin does NBA :-)
for the Chiefs lol. Couldn't bail out Shanahan typical let's pass the ball when we should be running and controlling the game nonsense he does in these types of games.
@@aaronflanary271They gave up more than that to the Eagles and still won-it was pretty clearly the offense that was struggling in Tampa. Also it took a little while to transition from bandaid players to the guys he picked for his scheme.
Bro stop. Spags is ok, but his defense right now is young. Chiefs will win another 3-4 more super bowls. Nobody can stop the Chiefs. It's over for any team facing them the next 5 years in a super bowl.
I knew the MVP was gonna goto Mahomes, but i felt there was a SERIOUS argument to be made that Chris Jones deserved it. He literally saved the game for them on multiple occasions.
I think Trent McDuffie also had an argument for best player on the KC defense, made some spectacular blocks, no pass interference calls against him. Sneed made some contributions (aside from the horrendous penalty). That’s why its so hard to give SB MVP to any one defensive player. They are all contributing. Unless someone goes crazy with sacks or interceptions its going to someone on the offense. I thought even Butker had an argument before OT hit.
I appreciate your conversations and education. I also enjoy that you two don’t yell to get your points across. I get stressed out with other shows because I feel that I’m in trouble.
Bosa was great first half but he got a bit undisciplined 2nd half and was biting a lot on fakes. Chiefs really took advantage on the left side of the 49ers defence
The three big plays KC had -- including corn dog -- were all the same basic read-action on Bosa crashing down on the RB. The offense always tries to "fork" (chess term) one defensive player. Edge or CB usually. Force them to choose who to cover. They played off Bosa's aggressiveness -- or more likely an understanding of the positional "rules" of the SF defensive scheme.
Preach! He had a few outbursts this season but over all he’s been so wholesome. Brady made me want to stop watching football just for how he treated his team when they messed up.
Moody nailed some great FGs, but I'm shocked that they didn't mention the impact of his low blocked kick. The difference between a 3 point lead and a 4 point lead ended up being massive because it was the field goal that took the game to OT.
@@bailoch Not necessarily.... At the end of regulation, you really think they were just playing to tie? They were going for the TD to win it but it ended up being incomplete. However, since it was only a 3 point game they could kick the field goal on 4th down instead of needing to go for it. Huge implications.
@@barbellbryceit gave KC the option of OT. If Moody made the PAT, KC would have gone for a TD on the last play, which their red zone efficiency is about 50%. So essentially a coin flip KC would have won/lost in the fourth quarter.
@@barbellbryce They let the clock run during that drive, though. I think they would’ve got it with a few more shots to the end zone, with the season being on the line, and the insane red zone calls Reid has been holding on to.

SFs QB was playing the tougher defense. Spags was throwing everything at him and owning Shanahan schematically. Reid vs Wilks was a huge mismatch. This came down to coaching and defense

Everyone said all year the 49ers roster was like the avengers squad. And rightfully so-- they are UNBELIEVABLY talented!! Tonight, Mahomes was Thanos. He was inevitable. He absolutely carried that offense. What a performance.
Mahomes isn’t Thanos, he’s John Wick. You can knock him out of the season every once in awhile, but you know that eventually Baba Yaga is coming for you. You can have a team loaded with talented position players, a great head coach, an MVP QB, home field advantage, out play him for 3 quarters, injure him, have runners fumble balls, have receivers drop passes or run backwards, the center constantly giving him low snaps…at the end of the game Mahomes is there. Baba Yaga.
I can not tell you how much I love to see the Chiefs prove ppl wrong! But the 49ers almost made me and many ppl in my family stroke out many times lol. This was a great Super Bowl and the 49ers are a awesome team!
Colin isn't that hip on the day to day stats of non superstars. He watches big games and tells you what he feels. That opens him up to putting his foot in his mouth a lot. The difference in this game was spag's ability to blitz knowing he had the luxury of two elite cornerbacks.
@@knightslegion1731Absolutely. And it's not like it worked every time either. They got us a few times because they have so many weapons. Purdy and the niners handled our blitz a lot better than Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Yep, you could see the confidence of the SF team just drop. It reminded me of the last time SF and KC met in SB. Chiefs were backed into a corner with third and 15, Mahomes threw that Jet Chip WASP route to Hill. A 50 yard throw that shifted the the momentum. SF was stupefied and just could not get back up to peak performance, just like Sunday.
It’s BEEN a dynasty 6 straight afc title games. Tougher conference Elite QBs all over Mahomes doesn’t care Once the FG in OT game was over Mahomes always finds a way… After what he did at Buffalo and Baltimore Never bet against him anymore ..
I knew the game was over when SF did not score a touchdown in overtime. Mahoms was so confident he could even afford a smile like we got this one on the last drive for a touchdown.
@ralphmack8590 I'm not absolving Kyle of blame, but people put that on his record like he was the head coach in Atlanta. Niners defense gave up 455 yards tonight!! That's the 2nd highest total all year for the Chiefs, and if you're blaming him for dumb penalties and missed blocks by the oline, then I guess the players are never at fault
Huh.... Must not like the Chiefs. CMC fumbles. Muffed punt. Blocked kick. About seven blocked passes. Every time the Chiefs needed a big play they get it. At the end of the day. The score board tells you who out played who.
Strangely, nobody's questioned why the hell Shanahan had George Kittle lined up next to Purdy in the backfield on the most important play of the game, 3rd&4 to pretty much win the game.... Kittle's a great blocker....when he know's who he's blocking!!! Neither he or Purdy even looked to their blindside towards McDuffie therefore had no chance of picking up the blitz, Kittle ended up blocking nobody... Also, Shannahan had predetermined who the ball was going to and had instructed Purdy who throw to but when that play was covered it was too late for Purdy to do anything else cos Duffie was in his face! Purdy's 1st read should've been where's the blitz coming from, if he'd realized that straight away he could've easily thrown towards it to an open receiver. When Mahomes was blitzed shortly afterwards on a crucial 3rd down he threw straight over the blitzer to Rashee Rice for an easy first down. Either Purdy doesn't know how to set-up/change his protection or Shanahan doesn't allow him to, either way it cost the 9ers the SB. On the most important Offensive plays the 9ers totally screwed up the protection and allowed free runners at Purdy (how'd you let Chris Jones run through completely unblocked??? He's usually double teamed!). Shanahan no doubt cost them the SB...... George Kittle in the backfield for the SB??? If McAffrey was there there's a chance he might've picked up McDuffie, although probably not cos Kyle Shanahan was dead set on the ball going to that one and only read who didn't get open... The QB's first read should always be where's the blitz coming from (if there is one), Mahomes always looks for the blitz first which is why he's so good against it. Shanahan lost the them the game they should've won and then fired Wilks the next day. I'm not saying Wilks shouldn't have been fired cos it clearly hadn't been a perfect fit throughout the season, but the timing of it was a terrible look cos it was Kyle's Offense that blew this game. And, how about Mike Pennel dominating Trent Williams (9ers supposed best player lol) time and time again?! Trent Williams is a 1st ballot HOFer but anyone who actually knows what they're on about knows that Trent is no longer the same player, his form this season was far from what he was, hence all the penalties he gave up all season including the SB, he started the SB nervous cos he knows he's no longer "that guy". Shout out to Mike Pennel, one of the "oldguard" who won the 1st SB against the 9ers, went away for a couple of years but came back this year and won his 2nd SB beating the 9ers once again. Shannahan totally outcoached by Andy Reid!
Mahomes, simply incredible. Just look at what this man has done in his first 6 yrs starting, put that up against any QB in NFL history and it ain't even close. Took an average team to the SB and won it, and against a top defense at that. Those last 2 drives when they needed their guy he was flawless, his skills, talent, playmaking abilities, and will to win is simply unmatched, and time has NOTHING to do with that, Mahomes' career is only just beginning .Even with all those weapons Purdy couldn't win against him or that KC defense, that's the difference between Mahomes and every other QB in NFL history. That's 3 and counting for the G.O.A.T. and he's not even 29 yrs old yet, can't wait to see what the doubters and haters are gonna have to say about this one, LMAO. What he is doing has never been done before, never even been seen before, nor in the way he's doing it too. Not just great, but so talented, clutch, poised, and can do it ALL, his running ability is so took for granted cuz he's so good in the pocket. Clearly the G.O.A.T. the only ones who'll say otherwise are haters and Brady fans that are in denial, thinking cuz Brady played 20 plus yrs that he's better, NOT. Time has NOTHING to do with the difference in the talent, abilities, and all around greatness between Mahomes and every other QB in NFL history. PERIOD
Brady won 4 super bowls without an all pro TE. He won 6 without an all pro WR. He came back from 28-3 in less than 20 mins. Brady has 6 game winning drives in super bowls too. He beat Mahomes in the Super Bowl at 43 yrs old. Mahomes can get to Brady for sure, but he’s gotta win 5 to start the conversation. Montana is still above him right now. Mahomes even said he’s not on Brady’s level at all yet lol
Brady Superbowl with bucs defense was reason why he won not including he has pro bowl offense ab and Mike Evans and running back from LSU ....mahomes never stack or join team that always ready stack ....mahomes play on built teams
@@blondie214 he doesn't have to win anything more, Brady's skills, playing making ability, and talent pales in comparison to Mahomes, PERIOD. This was an amazing podcast. You two broke down the game and everything so well and intelligently without trying to be a shock jock or with a weird hot take like some of the other shows. I really enjoyed the discussion here.
I really thought the niners had us as I watched that first half. But as we in Chiefs Kingdom have been trying to tell everyone but been laughed out of every comment section... never, ever count out Mahomes/Chiefs until the game is over. We've seen them come back time and time again. Mahomes never gives up.
Thank you! I was literally saying that all game. As a matter of fact, I actually relax when we’re down at the half because that just kicks Mahomes into another gear.
When SF was up 10-0, I said, "Didn't you guys learn last time." Then SF defense went to pose in the end zone after a turnover. I just laughed. It was like SB LIV never happened in their memories.
I don’t think you can blame Shanahan or Purdy. It was MCM that fumbled away the opening drive, the kicker that missed the extra point, and the special teams player’s heel that contacted the back on that punt return.
Kicker getting the kick blocked I think actually helped the Niners in a weird way, the Chiefs took way too much time off the clock at the end and didn't have enough time to score a td, if they needed a td, they probably would've won in regulation
I blame the coach. In the third quarter, with a small lead, he abandoned the run and got pass happy. Late in regulation, seemingly in control at the 2 minute warning, he fails to dial up the plays to get one more first down. In OT, on 3rd and 4, he tries a pass instead of a run. In 4th, he kicks a meaningless FG that everybody knew would be answered by a Mahomes TD.
Muffed punt and CMC fumble killed us. Defense, of course no stop at the end. None of that is on Brock. Go for it on 4th down there. Moody missed an extra point.
Again the team lost the game not LC won the game. KC legit fumbled on the 9 yard line and offensive was terrible in the first half. 49ers never once looked like they could beat KC
I appreciate these guys colab commentary. Especially from JMs direction. Real objective evaluations of players and coaches without the bias you see every day on sports talk shows with commentators that want to always paint themselves as being right on every subject and topic they touch on.
@@gunmankhan8167exactly, but if you listen to a lot of other people, they LOVE to pump up Purdy to ridiculous high levels. Some were putting him in Montana levels.
Reid and Mahomes are a remarkable duo. Seems like you could put them on any team in the league and they would win the Super Bowl within 2 years. They are that good.
There wasn't nothing iconic about it...Put Purdy with the KC offensive line and no real no. 1 recievers...and put Mahomes on the 49ers and see if you'd think it was iconic...hell Mahomes would have dropped 45+ on KC with Purdy as KC's recievers...
Don’t forget Joe Gibbs who went to 4 Super Bowls and won 3 without a Montana or a Mahomes. He’s just as good as Walsh and Reid. Had to deal with Lawrence Taylor every year too. Oh, if you are unaware, he’s in the Hall of Fame.
Joe Theismann was not “slightly above average”. He was a former NFL MVP and had he not gotten hurt, he would’ve been a Hall of Famer. Now Rypien and Williams fit the bill, but Gibb’s run was started by Theismann.
And no… Gibbs is not on the level of Bill Walsh. Without Walsh all of these “West Coast” coaches wouldn’t be here. No Holmgren, no Shanahan, no Gruden, no Reid, no McVay etc. His legacy of his assistants and his system, far outweigh Gibbs.
Cam Newton was right about Brocc Purdy. He's a Game Manager. OT was the difference. Brocc Purdy wasn't trying not to lose the game. But Patricc Mahomes was trying to win the game. That's the difference between a Game Manager and a Game Changer. Facts and Blessings 🙏🏿✊🏿✊🏿

The panthers had an insanely game changing qb and lost to the superior defense. Denver had manning and one of the greatest offenses ever and lost to the superior defense. Shanahan once again chokes a double digit lead in a SB. 3rd time. Playcalling in the 2nd half was putrid. Abandoned CMC. Special teams disaster too.
yup his play calling in the 3rd quarter was trash they making excuses for him he will never win a superbowl
Exactly
The probability of being up 10 points or more in 3 Super Bowls and losing all 3 of them is 0.2%.
Yup
3rd time? I thought this was Shanahan second time.
I knew the game was over when SF did not score a touchdown in overtime. Mahoms was so confident he could even afford a smile like we got this one on the last drive for a touchdown.
Yup
I've enjoyed both of your analysis this football season, thank you both. Great podcast.
Kyle gets all the credit he also should get the blame for coming up short in the Super Bowl for the 3rd time with leads in all 3!!
EXACTLY!!!
Bro he wasn't the head coach in Atlanta. Stop blaming Kyle for that. It's like blaming Steve Wilks for this loss.
@@Ballaholic1728 to what? You're the big brain 🧠 OC. It's Kyle's fault
@Ballaholic82 he woulda got the credit if they won. He should have credit with them losing too. And Purdy and all the team
The Niners out played the Chiefs but, the Chiefs out coached the Niners.
Huh.... Must not like the Chiefs. CMC fumbles. Muffed punt. Blocked kick. About seven blocked passes. Every time the Chiefs needed a big play they get it. At the end of the day. The score board tells you who out played who.
@@NickLaMarca-f8l yep. If only the coaches didn't tell the players to muff the punts and get their kicks blocked.
Team stats indicate both teams are near image of each other per half
This was a brilliant and fascinating discussion. Thank you for the insight, great to have some new ideas to digest and think about
Great SB and season wrap up. I really enjoyed both you and John.
the winning play was the same play they run with Skyy Moore and Toney against the Eagles
crazy how wide open kc receivers get in every big game

@@GenghisWanghis yup and this variation is "with mustard" 😂
Not sure anyone else noticed that
It’s the same route, but slightly different play (sprint right roll out). Good for Mecole Hardman’s redemption arc.
That's for tyreek saying tua was the best deep ball thrower he's ever seen. Them dolphins went deep alright,
Straight to the ocean floor
Like the Titan submarine
If Pacheco had not fumbled near the goal line during the first half, the texture of the game would have been different.
Chiefs actually fumbled FIVE times. Just lost one. This game could have gotten way out of hand.
And if McCaffrey hadn't fumbled on the opening drive and If the punt muff hadn't happened SF wins easily, if, if ,if....
If the refs throw a flag on Warner for mauling kelce on the Mahomes pick, different if that gets called too
And the block fg for the niners and fumble
McCaffery also fumbled. So you can't look at it that way. Tit for tat.
Spags might be the most underrated coach in the league. He needs more credit for this title.
PERIOD
Deserves all the credit in the world. But so does his defense. His team wasn't "mediocre" this defense deserves to be remembered
Great point!
He simply CANNOT do the things Mahomes can, you think he would've made those plays with his legs that Mahomes did, not a chance in hell. People always try to bring up time to strengthen Brady's case, but time and longevity has NOTHING to do with the difference in the abilities, talent, skills, and playmaking between the 2 of them, and there NOT EVEN CLOSE in that matter, PERIOD
I know you said Kelce didnt go off for 10 and 150....but he did go off for 9 and 93 soooooo
So Chiefs win and all these talking heads just want to talk about how good the 49ers are. Congrats on your moral victory SF we will think about you at the parade.
KC got outplayed the majority of the game. The punt hitting that guy's foot shifted the momentum. That was a gift, and KC capitalized.
SF should have won but there coach choked it away.
This coverage was so good, id watch these two talk football everyday! The admiration and understanding of the game, the nuances, the details, the discussions of the different coaches belichek, walsh, mcvay, kyle shanahan, reid, and the respect for the champs, mahomes, reid and understanding what matters in an organization that makes for great teams...wow, this was a great reaction video. I loved the whole game, i love romo and nantz, and these guys especially the guest explains why this game was so good from beginning to end.
His record is now 9-2 (0.818) when down by 7 or more in the playoffs. Bart Starr was 9-1 in his entire playoff career. Bonkers.

BTW, I’m becoming a real fan of John Middlekauff. I learn more about football when I listen to him. 👍
This dude doubted the chiefs all year 😂
Really?
John's dad again
This game showed exactly what Cam Newton was talking about. There’s game managers and game changers
What about the blocked extra point or the blunder on special teams that gave the chiefs the ball back?
Special teams lost the game, blocked extra point, ball hitting foot on punt return…4 points lost…
@@2Greenlid no overtime potentially if the field goal doesn’t get blocked
@@2Greenlid8 points. The muffed punt ended in the end zone for KC
McCaffrey should have got the ball more. All on coach
Blame CMC? And a rookie kicker? You crazy, they went away from CMC in the 3rd, they panicked
Purdy overthrew some marketable touchdown throws.
That is a correct and sober summary. Thank you.
Congrats Nick Wright! You never wavered on Your Chiefs..
Never a doubt.
Loved these pods with John and Colin all season. Can’t wait for next season with these two! It’s great to have content right after a game
Hats off to the 9ers, great effort., but, thank you for contributing to 2 of our 3 Lombardis for the case these last 5 years.😁

@@GoKU-xx2vg nah, he's just another sports analyst 🤣😃
Blocked extra point lost it for SF
Fumble on the goal line by KC could’ve lost it for them 🤷🏾♂️
The lost punt return a lot more because it was a momentum changer! Brought the chiefs back in the game after IC and could not produce a good drive!
Nah. Them missing on 3rd down shortly after the 2 minute warning was what cost the game.
It would have changed the dynamic of how KC played late. Not necessarily cost the game.
Again the team lost the game not LC won the game. KC legit fumbled on the 9 yard line and offensive was terrible in the first half. 49ers never once looked like they could beat KC
Dynasty has started
I appreciate these guys colab commentary. Especially from JMs direction. Real objective evaluations of players and coaches without the bias you see every day on sports talk shows with commentators that want to always paint themselves as being right on every subject and topic they touch on.
gut feeling took Chiefs and the under been having a run of good luck lately and topped off a great week with my wins

A 2nd year QB isn't Mahones at this point. I think these guys are on to something. Big brain.
Insane take from Colin tbh. Purdy played to his level and his coach let him down.
Dan Marino lost a SB in his second year. He is a HOF but never went back.

@@clownkilla7003True but Purdy will never reach Mahomes level. Even Mahomes year 2 may be better than Purdy will ever be
@@gunmankhan8167exactly, but if you listen to a lot of other people, they LOVE to pump up Purdy to ridiculous high levels. Some were putting him in Montana levels.
You guys are great together. Very entertaining. Good football analysis.
Reid and Mahomes are a remarkable duo. Seems like you could put them on any team in the league and they would win the Super Bowl within 2 years. They are that good.
I love John. Hes such a real dude

Gibbs won 3 SBs with 3 DIFFERENT QBs who were slightly above average. Way tougher to do than with a sure fire HOF at QB.
He's on the racetrack now
Joe Theismann was not “slightly above average”.
YES! Joe Gibbs is the most underrated head coach ever.

But mahoomes is older, more experienced. But dude is amazing.
But Cam is a joke. Trash outside of a season.
