      The thing I took from this game is Niners have a better defense than what people gave them credit for,I thought the Chiefs would expose that secondary,Chiefs had some good passes but man I never thought Niners defense was that physical,it was a gg,that's facts,49ers and Chiefs belonged in this game,nobody wanted this SB but it was one of the best I've seen besides last years

    I think Coach Cowher said it best after the game, “the 49ers didn’t lose the game, Mahomes won it” . I personally can’t stand the Chiefs but I gotta respect them. They won that game fair and square. Congrats on going back-to-back

      Eh. Mahomes play was rough, including throwing the Int. Then in the 4th with the SF defense gassed, and Steve Wilks, for some reason, decided he needed to switch his guys into a soft prevent defense, which is what gave away the game. Then he started blitzing, which Mahomes can handle, so that was another mistake by the 49ers defense that gave away the game.
      If Wilks called the 4th Qtr like he called the first 3 Qtrs, the 49ers are hoisting that trophy.

      I am shocked by the short memories of some people (not meaning this podcast or anything). When they were down 10-3 at half, as a Chiefs fan, I was worried, but I was also like, "We have Mahomes, though." The memory issue is people not remembering just a few short years ago when SF had the Chiefs down by waaaay more than 7 points in the second half, and it was an amazing comeback to win. Did people forget that already? Haha. But yeah, the Chiefs offense was not nearly as good this year as the first SF-KC Super Bowl, so maybe that's what they were thinking.

    Most shocking thing for me was the 49ers final regulation drive when they took the lead. They have all the tools needed to drain the clock and KC's defense was exhausted! They chose not to dribble the ball down the field and attempt a game winning field goal. Yes, they needed to score, but with that many weapons on offense I was surprised. You can't leave that much time on the clock against a Mahomes offense. That is when I new Andy Reid would once again, "Mahomes" the 49ers.

    Unironically one of the best Super Bowls in my lifetime. Nice balance between defense in the beginning and offense towards the end, pretty good overall officiating, and my favorite team won as the cherry on top.
    Fun fact: Patrick Mahomes averaged more yards per rushing attempt than per pass attempt in this game (7.3 vs. 7.2). A lot of that running came as he was slicing right through the Niners' D in the 4th and OT to help seal his MVP case.

      Seriously. 4 rings as a coordinator is up there. One potential reason for hope is the selection of Devin Hester-it shows modern voters care more about positional/situational excellence and not just stats at a nominal position. If you grade Hester as a wide receiver it's not even an argument, he doesn't belong; but as a returner, he does. Strangely, nobody's questioned why the hell Shanahan had George Kittle lined up next to Purdy in the backfield on the most important play of the game, 3rd&4 to pretty much win the game.... Kittle's a great blocker....when he know's who he's blocking!!! Neither he or Purdy even looked to their blindside towards McDuffie therefore had no chance of picking up the blitz, Kittle ended up blocking nobody... Also, Shannahan had predetermined who the ball was going to and had instructed Purdy who throw to but when that play was covered it was too late for Purdy to do anything else cos Duffie was in his face! Purdy's 1st read should've been where's the blitz coming from, if he'd realized that straight away he could've easily thrown towards it to an open receiver. When Mahomes was blitzed shortly afterwards on a crucial 3rd down he threw straight over the blitzer to Rashee Rice for an easy first down. Either Purdy doesn't know how to set-up/change his protection or Shanahan doesn't allow him to, either way it cost the 9ers the SB. On the most important Offensive plays the 9ers totally screwed up the protection and allowed free runners at Purdy (how'd you let Chris Jones run through completely unblocked??? He's usually double teamed!). Shanahan no doubt cost them the SB...... George Kittle in the backfield for the SB??? If McAffrey was there there's a chance he might've picked up McDuffie, although probably not cos Kyle Shanahan was dead set on the ball going to that one and only read who didn't get open... The QB's first read should always be where's the blitz coming from (if there is one), Mahomes always looks for the blitz first which is why he's so good against it.
    Shanahan lost the them the game they should've won and then fired Wilks the next day. I'm not saying Wilks shouldn't have been fired cos it clearly hadn't been a perfect fit throughout the season, but the timing of it was a terrible look cos it was Kyle's Offense that blew this game.
    And, how about Mike Pennel dominating Trent Williams (9ers supposed best player lol) time and time again?! Trent Williams is a 1st ballot HOFer but anyone who actually knows what they're on about knows that Trent is no longer the same player, his form this season was far from what he was, hence all the penalties he gave up all season including the SB, he started the SB nervous cos he knows he's no longer "that guy". Shout out to Mike Pennel, one of the "oldguard" who won the 1st SB against the 9ers, went away for a couple of years but came back this year and won his 2nd SB beating the 9ers once again. Shannahan totally outcoached by Andy Reid!

    Mahomes, simply incredible. Just look at what this man has done in his first 6 yrs starting, put that up against any QB in NFL history and it ain't even close. Took an average team to the SB and won it, and against a top defense at that. Those last 2 drives when they needed their guy he was flawless, his skills, talent, playmaking abilities, and will to win is simply unmatched, and time has NOTHING to do with that, Mahomes' career is only just beginning .Even with all those weapons Purdy couldn't win against him or that KC defense, that's the difference between Mahomes and every other QB in NFL history. That's 3 and counting for the G.O.A.T. and he's not even 29 yrs old yet, can't wait to see what the doubters and haters are gonna have to say about this one, LMAO. What he is doing has never been done before, never even been seen before, nor in the way he's doing it too. Not just great, but so talented, clutch, poised, and can do it ALL, his running ability is so took for granted cuz he's so good in the pocket. Clearly the G.O.A.T. the only ones who'll say otherwise are haters and Brady fans that are in denial, thinking cuz Brady played 20 plus yrs that he's better, NOT. There wasn't nothing iconic about it...Put Purdy with the KC offensive line and no real no. 1 recievers...and put Mahomes on the 49ers and see if you'd think it was iconic...hell Mahomes would have dropped 45+ on KC with Purdy as KC's recievers...

    Don’t forget Joe Gibbs who went to 4 Super Bowls and won 3 without a Montana or a Mahomes. He’s just as good as Walsh and Reid. Had to deal with Lawrence Taylor every year too. Oh, if you are unaware, he’s in the Hall of Fame.

      Gibbs won 3 SBs with 3 DIFFERENT QBs who were slightly above average. Way tougher to do than with a sure fire HOF at QB.

      Joe Theismann was not “slightly above average”. He was a former NFL MVP and had he not gotten hurt, he would’ve been a Hall of Famer. Now Rypien and Williams fit the bill, but Gibb’s run was started by Theismann.

    • @Dbo_Sports
      @Dbo_Sports 7 месяцев назад

      And no… Gibbs is not on the level of Bill Walsh. Without Walsh all of these “West Coast” coaches wouldn’t be here. No Holmgren, no Shanahan, no Gruden, no Reid, no McVay etc. His legacy of his assistants and his system, far outweigh Gibbs.

    Cam Newton was right about Brocc Purdy. He's a Game Manager. OT was the difference. Brocc Purdy wasn't trying not to lose the game. But Patricc Mahomes was trying to win the game. That's the difference between a Game Manager and a Game Changer. Facts and Blessings 🙏🏿✊🏿✊🏿
