Can't believe you got Seth Godin, that in itself deserves applaud. You are hands down becoming one of the best interviewers ever, period. Knowing when to be quiet, and knowing when to prime the pump gets the best out of your guests. You have mastered this. I can listen to the same guest on Lewis Howes, Seth Rogan, Chase Jarvis and I get the most when they are on Impact Theory. I think it's because you are asking and probing what your community wants. What I'm building you have personally had a major impact on. Thank You and Thank You for getting Seth!!
Seth Godin is one of the most transformative characters in my life. I encountered his work more than 10 years ago, and without his ideas, I would not have been able to build the business I have today. He has greatly influenced me, miles away here in the Philippines. He is a hero. And he is truly making the impact he intends to make. Thanks Seth! And thank you Tom from having him as a guest. Such power in his ideas.
Bilyeu got this conversation quickly and purposefully. Engaged Godin instantly. Not sure if it was the introduction, but that first question lit Seth up! I need to study this. Well done, Tom!! You can tell how much Seth respects you and your audience!!
That's true SedaleM because it's all testing until something actually works. Many people view the testing process as failure instead of testing a hypothesis. It is a mindset shift to discover that we can test ideas and see if they work and that's okay.
I think the questions asked were the value added in this conversation. It's why I listen to Tom. He thinks a little differently andhsi kind of thinking is what helps me understand a little more how to get more information out of people. Fantastic Job!!
It has been a full year now that I'm watching Impact theory, so I can say it - Tom, you are the greatest interviewer of our time. You are our Larry King. And in this episode you've been superb, a joy to watch. Seth's ideas and the way he conveys them is nothing short of amazing. This is probably my favorite episode. Thank you for everything you are doing. Because, same as Seth, you ARE making this world a better place.
Tom, having Seth is such an incredible accomplishment. Congrats. Seth represents what humanity truly needs to be. He is my "Hero" as he prefers in terms! I listen to him, morning, noon and night. Keep the movement going. !!!
I HATE when I have to hit the rewind button every 5 seconds. Unmercifully valuable interview. Tom and Seth never disappoint... thank you both for all you are doing.
He's the first person to have a real answer to your question about what impact he wants to have on the world...and it's the most gangster answer ever. God damn this was a good episode.
I'm an online art student. I am not good yet, but I'm determined to become a master through sheer discipline and hard work. These interviews are such an inspiration when I feel discouraged. Can't wait to be good enough that I can teach others and share the growth mindset. The world needs it!
Teresa Cole , Seth actually goes further than that to say “You” already are unique and would easily stand out in “the marketplace” and that its of value to develop on the many levels that have not been attended to (read developed) that support beyond the lower potential of merely “Fitting in” This whole notion grows from the “lynchpin” idea of learning and growing through knowing what we don’t know........... of ourselves!
He started with the story ive been obsessed with and moves on to hit me over and over FOR 52 MINUTES!!! Another interview I was writing notes furiously. Tom, you are such an amazing interviewer! I got so much value from this, THANK YOU!!!!
Tom you are a brilliant interviewer, who truly makes his guest feel valued and appreciated with the spectacular manner in which you introduce them. Moreover, it is not only the brilliant intros that make your podcast stellar in nature but also the manner in which you truly ask insightful and well though out questions that provide great value to the audience. Additionally, as an interviewer you have managed to strike the perfect balance between being present and leading the interview, while also allowing the interviewee to take their time answering the questions posed, a trait that is hard to find in many podcasts and interviews. I truly recommend all viewers to see the manner in which Gary Vaynerchuck interviewed Seth Godin and contrast that with the manner in which Tom conducted his interview as there is a world of the difference with regards to the dynamic shared between the interviewer and interviewee.
oh my god, i can't find words to explain how great it felt. Tom I got introduced to Seth via your book list and i can't thank you enough for that. This guys is from another dimension and finally seeing him in the show is the best thing that happened to me today. thank you so much
After watching some 20 episodes , I loved this the most ... Truly informative and believe me I actually put headphones /// full volume and closed the windows of my room /// did almost everything just to give my 100% attention and rewinded several times to get this in my head ... Thanks a ton TOM .
"I'm not trying to teach for my own sake. I'm trying to teach so that other people can help the culture around them level up, 'cause that's all we got." Wow. Solid guy.
How do you not love a real gentlemen, people that opens doors and keep their promises and listen and they hear without you speeking.....addicted for life, gratitude to you😍❤ Seth
I shared this video on my Facebook page like this, "If you want to escape the matrix.. if you want to be an entrepreneur, NOT work a typical job but add a crushing amount of value to the world, I am giving you an opportunity to listen to this interview. If you let it, it will begin to change your mindset, just how it has done with mine. Welcome to how the world really is, YOU AS THE CREATOR."
Damn Tom, one of the best videos you've had on this channel. Congratulations, it seems like it was a little dificult for you and your team to bring Seth to your studio, but if definely worth it. Thank you for doing that, for all of us. I also admire and respect all the time you spend studying the person you're going to interview before the presentation, it is one of the most genuine things that you do on your channel. Lets be legendary my friend. Regards
Can’t tell you how many of your episodes I’ve watched or what order I’m watching them in... so far, this one has been my favorite! Even paused to grab Linchpin from audible and finally listen to seth’s wisdom. You’re doing great work and inspiring my company at every step in mere months. Thank you both.
Amazing!! Empowering brought me to tears. One of the greatest lessons I've learned from Seth Godin is nobody is coming to rescue any of us, we have to rescue ourselves. The only way anyone can rescue themselves is if they truly believe in what they are doing. I do believe in what I am doing. It is not in me to concede regardless of being rejected countless times. I Witness each little successes as it affirms my pursuit. My passion comes from the knowing within me that I am adding to the greater good of the whole. In oneness with each other, not division, is where true success blooms.
Five minutes in and I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorites! I don’t even watch TV or use my Hulu account anymore! I literally enjoy my no ad RUclips educational channels more than any other form of entertainment and it’s really all I wanna do in my free time. In one month I’ve changed my entire life and a lot of it is from the inspiration motivation and change of thought pattern I have gotten from these videos. I wake up early in the morning meditate take a long walk to the gym while listening to educational videos. By 1 o’clock all of my tasks are completed and I have to find more positive things to do so I usually just watch more of your videos. Thank you thank you thank you!!! 🙏🏽
These two are peas in a pod. I love this. Seth, Tom, thank you both for agreeing to (and actually) making this happen. "What did that process look like?" Priceless. This is filled with 'obvious' principles articulated in a no-nonsense format. Much appreciated for your sage wisdom and expert communication.
It has taken me three days to watch this because I didn’t want to miss anything. I’m literally in tears. Seth has changed my perspective on a lot of things. I just want to study him. He’s so much of what I want to see myself evolve to. Though we do not share all of the same experiences, we certainly share the same heart and perhaps the same DNA. Thank you for bringing him to me. You asked all the right questions. Much love. ❤️
For the last three years, whenever I need reassurance in business, I watch this episode. The advice/information may be the same each time but it can take on new meaning in all aspects of growth in a business. Thank you!
What an amazing interview with Seth Godin. Seth made it very clear that society isn't set up for creative thinkers but rather to produce subordinates who operate in a system. We have an incredibly broken school system that is still geared towards generating industrial workers. His response to that system has been remarkable as he focuses on "how to do things in the world that leave a better trail to help people." It's crazy that Seth has turned down many profitable opportunities to focus on "what matches the promises he has made to the world." It's clear that our focus shouldn't be about the next dollar but rather how we can add value to the people we serve. There were so many golden nuggets here. Seth talked about how so many people lack faith in themselves for no good reason. "How can someone say that they aren't a good writer when they don't have a ton of bad writing to prove it?" That philosophy encouraged me to write more instead of focusing on what I think wouldn't work. Like Seth said, "if you have bad writing someone can help you get better, but if you don't have any writings then how can you get better?" Since watching this interview with Seth so many times, I've seen an improvement in my business and blogging efforts. I literally shifted my focus to a greater cause, and I practice my skills to improve each day. This was very insightful and life-changing. bit.ly/tdcpartner
Unbelievable! I have been watching your videos for over a year now and this has been by far the most impactful episode for me yet! Keep up the good work!
You get better if you care enough to be bad in the first place. All we gotta do is to accept there’s no shortcut And put in the work. Showing up everyday. I love how Seth answered how he’d like to impact the world. His genuine interest in levelling up the culture can be sensed through my phone screen. Amazing interview Tom. Thanks.
What a combination of two of my favourite content creators. Been a fan of Seth for years now and Tom within the last 2 years or so. Smashing the like button before I listen, it is impossible for this not to be EPIC!!
28:00 .... he actually introduced a very powerful and practical approach to deal with those thoughts and habits that won't go away !! Its even part of meditation techniques .... Nice Talk!
Tom B., You probably hear and read thank yous left and right, but if you ever read this I just want you to know that impact theory is by far the best intimate, motivational, and wonderful RUclips channel I've ever come across. I wish you could be awarded every single day for creating a space to share wisdom 🙏 to the people in need.
Tom Bilyeu I discovered you only a month or so ago... and I am so happy I did. Thank you so much for all of the work you are doing. A really awesomefully inspiring contribution !! THANK YOU !!!
Yes Tina, Tom really does do a great job at the intro and outro of the interviews. I have watched other interviews where the interviewer totally loses control of the interview. Tom does a great job of guiding the interview and making sure that the audience can get some core wisdom that they can apply to their lives and get some positive results.
Holy wow - it's past 3 a.m., I'm exhausted, and my brand new journal is overflowing with all the aha! moments and inspirational ideas generated in this past hour's worth of interview gold. The only thing I could ask for regarding this video is to have found it sooner! I'm a long-time fan of Seth Godin's work and what he stands for - and I am beyond grateful for all of the knowledge gems packed into just one interview. But I'm most impressed with this interview process itself. As a recovering journalist, I'm intimately aware of how rare it is to have an interviewer as on pointe as Tom Bilyeu is during this video. I lost count of how many times his insightful, deeply researched, heartfelt questions made my inner nerd's heart pitter-patter, each earning Seth's delighted and impressed smile. Well done, sir! GAME-CHANGING hour (plus copious notetaking time) of my life, thank you! Now, sleep! I have 2+ years of your videos and Seth's magic to catch up on! (And resulting action items to get started with!)
"engage with people so you don't even need a lawyer", "living your life with no fine print"... wow, that is magic! I would like to be able to work in partnerships like this.
Seth's interviews are always amazing to listen to. But, Tom I have to applaud your questions and the level of presence you bring to every interview. How much attention you give to every word coming from the person in the other chair, is always something that stands out to me. I loved how to started to go into 'Impact Quote mode' at the end of the interview. Great interview man!
Yes, the interview on David Gogins was amazing. He talked about turning pain into gain and having the mental toughness to get through anything. This interview with Seth is great in that way too.
Seth is a Rock Star, I have followed him for years, start my day with him each day, read many of his books, all that said, this interview was still fascinating and engaging. Tom, great job on this interview, great questions, awesome research you did. You clearly are a fan as well!
tom your like the modern day napolean hill interviewing all the great giants of this era. I always look forward to your content, keep up the great work.
Pure diamond with a brilliant cut is nurtured so one can experience a luminous precision. That's how I find Seth Godin. Thanks, Tom. This is my favorite interview :)
nice to see a calm, nuanced talk with seth godin! completely different to the talk he did with gary vee 😁seriously though, how can you not love seth? he always brings so much value and his advice has helped me tremendously in my endeavours!
One of the best interview. It's incredibly enriching. Thanks Tom for spreading the treasure of wisdom which can shape the person like me and others and impacting the world to make it a better place.
His talk is really inspiring and the fact that he’s a real person who I can get that notion through a phone screen a year after this has been put on RUclips is amazing alone I’m ready change this world for the soul purpose of telling a story that will give others the chance to have there voice heard while growing themselves in all aspects of life
There's something very clear to me that Seth demonstrates. He's an "issue spotter" to the top degree. Having the ability to sift and sort between complex facts and circumstances to see the one point that becomes a sequence. Add to that an eccentric sense of intelligence and, "boom" you have dynamic simplicity.
I was a winner of one of the 15 minute conversations with Tom Bilyeu back when the site reached 500,000 subscribers. It was really great to talk to him - such an honor! I asked what one piece of advice he would give for success. I liked his answer, but this: break up each goal into "survivable failures" may be the most ingenious advice ever! Two reasons: 1. You can never fail beyond recovery. 2. You prepare your mind from the get go that there will be failure, so you will neither be paralyzed by the fear of failure nor surprised when it happens. That just may be my new mantra. "What is the next survivable failure in acheiving my goal". It's oddly optimistic. 😊
I feel like this is everything I needed to hear. I have been sitting on the fence of my reality and my dreams and this helped me to realize I am the only person standing in my way.
I can't recall the day I saw a impact theory interview, but I m really glad that I did Tom bilyeu thanks a ton for all the work you have been doing ....I will be working my ass of to be on the show one day.
I really love the idea of 'generous hustle'. I have done damage to my body mind and spirit by pushing through, grinding, hustling, at times in my life. I don't regret any of it. I strive now to live a playful life of joy, and inspire and help others remember how to learn who they can be through play. I am also building a 'toolbox' that helps me and will help others to navigate the unknown, the now...
Gabrielle Angel Lilly Yes!! I can really relate- I just overcame the dark side of an entrepreneurial and ambitious mindset. I suffered from a deep productivity anxiety before, and it's so amazing just to say that I've have gotten past that because I am so much happier and empowered. It's so clear now what I want to do and how I want to craft my life! I'm happy for you!!
I found Impact theory because of a friend and your time with Seth was only my third time here but Tom, I already know I'm all in. How you research and interact with your guests to pull every scrap of awesomeness out of them is intoxicating and though I'm in my mid sixties and was feeling tired... after just three days here I'm feeling like starting over but being much better this time. Thank you... and I'll see you tomorrow!
What a terrific show. This should be on every single week. He's THAT good. Thank you Tom for getting him on, and thank you Seth for sharing your wisdom with us!
Great interview! I liked the way Seth emphasized the fact that we are living in a period where connections are important, and if you are lucky to meet/find somebody who inspires you, you can achieve great things. A key moment for me was when I found this channel. I am convinced that after a year while I watched the interviews each week, I have a different mindset. I am able and have the courage to do things that before I couldn't do, because I was afraid. But, as Seth said, fear is good to realize what you can do when you actually do. :) Thank you Tom for the interviews and I appreciate all you effort with Impact Theory. You rock!
TV Smack Talk, Tom totally killed it today with his restraint. I fell in love with him all over again just by watching him listen.
And the look of Joy on Tom's face as he was doing the intro!! I felt the excitement. This is just good stuff!!
Who is Seth Rogan?
@@SlovakwithMarian He means Joe Rogan
Is it silly if I feel motivated to do amazing things because I want to deserve getting interviewed on this show?
Seth Godin is one of the most transformative characters in my life. I encountered his work more than 10 years ago, and without his ideas, I would not have been able to build the business I have today.
He has greatly influenced me, miles away here in the Philippines. He is a hero. And he is truly making the impact he intends to make.
Thanks Seth! And thank you Tom from having him as a guest. Such power in his ideas.
Totally agree! Seth is amazing!
Bilyeu got this conversation quickly and purposefully. Engaged Godin instantly. Not sure if it was the introduction, but that first question lit Seth up! I need to study this.
Well done, Tom!! You can tell how much Seth respects you and your audience!!
"Get hooked on 'this might not work, this might work, we'll find out'" Absolute mindshift. Amazing.
That's true SedaleM because it's all testing until something actually works. Many people view the testing process as failure instead of testing a hypothesis. It is a mindset shift to discover that we can test ideas and see if they work and that's okay.
Seth Godin brings so much value at every appearance 💫
Agreed!
This is probably my favorite episode. yeah me too.
He's the first person to have a real answer to your question about what impact he wants to have on the world...and it's the most gangster answer ever. God damn this was a good episode.
This guy is my favorite interviewer because he actually shuts up and lets his guest talk
I'm an online art student. I am not good yet, but I'm determined to become a master through sheer discipline and hard work. These interviews are such an inspiration when I feel discouraged. Can't wait to be good enough that I can teach others and share the growth mindset. The world needs it!
Tom this is out of this world literally. ❤❤❤❤❤❤👍
This Is better than school ! 🙏
Agreed!
The best kind of learning is intentional learning. I love Seth's teaching style.
Honestly! Because Godin is a Real teacher!
Right in some sense. But, may be no school after 10th grade or so and no, if you wanna do engineering or science in any field.
"In a crowded marketplace, fitting in is a failure. In a busy marketplace, not standing out is the same as being invisible." - Seth Godin
Yes, Seth talks about becoming a lynchpin and making yourself unique and irreplaceable if you want to survive the wave of the future.

I’m shocked at how Tom summarized the interview so well. It’s not scripted... he’s just fcking focused and knows how to connect everything lol
Model success to replicate success. Absolutely love it.

One of the greatest episodes of Impact theory... Seth Godin is a master of marketing and leadership... Thank you Tom Bilyeu. Highly Educational
For the last three years, whenever I need reassurance in business, I watch this episode. The advice/information may be the same each time but it can take on new meaning in all aspects of growth in a business. Thank you!

28:00 .... he actually introduced a very powerful and practical approach to deal with those thoughts and habits that won't go away !!
Its even part of meditation techniques .... Nice Talk!
I'll have to go back and listen to that 28: 00-minute spot Mayank. Thanks for pointing it out.

I truly thought the process I was doing was bullshit but to hear two individuals describe what I was doing a relief. Thank you.
Tom Bilyeu I discovered you only a month or so ago... and I am so happy I did. Thank you so much for all of the work you are doing. A really awesomefully inspiring contribution !! THANK YOU !!!
What an interview!! And Tom what a great interviewer you are. The intro and outro of show was 🔥 What a way to honour Godin the legend
So glad you liked it! I loved having him on the show!

One of the best interviews that I have watched after David gogins interview
Yes, the interview on David Gogins was amazing. He talked about turning pain into gain and having the mental toughness to get through anything. This interview with Seth is great in that way too.
I got chills like a dozen times, especially near the end. Wow
I really love Tom’s voice! He’s very smart! He actively listened to every GOAT that he interviews, this making him hit the right questions every time!
Seth is a Rock Star, I have followed him for years, start my day with him each day, read many of his books, all that said, this interview was still fascinating and engaging. Tom, great job on this interview, great questions, awesome research you did. You clearly are a fan as well!
Definitely a huge fan! Seth is amazing!
So much humble with all those accomplishments. I am learning from Seth Godin and I want to learn from him
tom your like the modern day napolean hill interviewing all the great giants of this era. I always look forward to your content, keep up the great work.
Lemphedema leg wrap
Wow, that is an interesting way to view Tom as "a modern day Napolean Hill," were else can we get this type of compiled greatness. Amazing!
Pure diamond with a brilliant cut is nurtured so one can experience a luminous precision. That's how I find Seth Godin. Thanks, Tom. This is my favorite interview :)
nice to see a calm, nuanced talk with seth godin! completely different to the talk he did with gary vee 😁seriously though, how can you not love seth? he always brings so much value and his advice has helped me tremendously in my endeavours!
very humble human being, Seth Godin
I have rarely seen a person as well prepared for an interview as this. Great questions, great interview, congratulations, you nailed it.
A powerful inspiration to find your passion and be brave enough to stand alone. It’s going to take work
One of the best interview. It's incredibly enriching. Thanks Tom for spreading the treasure of wisdom which can shape the person like me and others and impacting the world to make it a better place.

Life changing interview Tom.thank you.Seth deserves the name GODin
Legendary. A legend and a legend in the making.
Thank you. So much wisdom in such little time.
His talk is really inspiring and the fact that he’s a real person who I can get that notion through a phone screen a year after this has been put on RUclips is amazing alone I’m ready change this world for the soul purpose of telling a story that will give others the chance to have there voice heard while growing themselves in all aspects of life
Thank you so much, Mr. Bilyeu.💝
"If you think there's a shortcut,your'e wrong".COOLSOME SETH.
I am committed to self-development & thriving.
I feel like this is everything I needed to hear. I have been sitting on the fence of my reality and my dreams and this helped me to realize I am the only person standing in my way.
thank you for this interview Tom, you did it again
Wow, what an exceptional episode. Well done.
Didn't know Seth Godin. All I can say is ...... WOW!!!
Seth Godin! He's hum ility, so deep, human, emotional, wisdom,... 🙏
I can't recall the day I saw a impact theory interview, but I m really glad that I did Tom bilyeu thanks a ton for all the work you have been doing ....I will be working my ass of to be on the show one day.
It's my pleasure! I look forward to you earning your spot on the show!
This is absolutely fucking amazing. Thanks Tom, so so so much for picking this guy's mind and sharing it with the world.
The Legend stops by!
The best talk and insight I've actually ever heard.
Not a day goes by without me watching one of Tom's interviews. Thank you!
This was soo good! Buying Linchpin now. Thank you!!!
Keep changing the world Tom! Pure Gold. wow. Salute sir.
I love this interview. I just want to shoutout Tim for this in depth RUclips description it literally has everything
You rock!
First experience with Seth Godin, he really has a beautiful soul!
