So I have high iron levels but my transferrin saturation is normal at 58% towards high but my ferritin is optimal! So confused.

How about high iron but normal ferretin levels. How about cooking with cast iron skillets.

You wouldnt have hemochromatosis because the ferrtin levels are normal, you can get tested to be on the safe side. Follow up with your Doctor, request to get your iron level tested again within 3 months.

Hi there. I am also wondering if my daily use of cast iron pans has caused my high iron levels. Waiting to hear back from my doc.

Are there other (supplemental) ways to reduce iron levels like taking turmeric?

Hi Mike, good question! Turmeric is not effective at reducing iron levels. A few methods to decrease iron levels include:
      - Tea/Tannic acid
      - Vegetarian diet/Reduced red meat intake
      - Calcium citrate
      - Long-term endurance exercise
