For me personally, privacy on the internet does not exist since I have a Dad who is famous and writes (occasionally about me) a well-known blog. I think the point is (and it's a good one) that if you post it, it can be accessed and all these people (whether they recalled it or not) posted references, at least, to the info Dave was getting through his earpiece. Message is strong and relevant.
Even crazier is the fact that stuff you don't post, like your bank account info can be intercepted and stuff you don't even upload can be stolen from your local files.

That would make you even easier to track down, as iCloud is supported by multiple servers it'll be harder to track down people that are disgusting enough to have it let alone joke about it. Hard drive's are a hackers best friend it shows them everything there is about you, i for one wouldn't recommend joking about it in the first place, but it is your life, and yours to control, just think before you do it might be the difference between standing strong and standing behind bars.

Well, I don't even have a cloud account and IF anyone has a warrant to take a look, they sure can. They won't find anything related to porn at all. However, hard drives are kept on person whereas cloud information is kept on online storage. To hack a hard disk drive would require actual possession of a hard disk drive.
exactly, i never heard somthing more stupid than someone claiming that a public accessible cloud, where everyone cann access data through stolen passwords or security problems can access ALL data. Didnt people learn anything of the icloud hacks and other leaks ? An encrypted drive at home is more secure. No need for child or animal porn. In times of identity theft ,everybody should be more carefully with their private data

Apple indexes their iCloud servers, and their operating systems and hardware is backdoored for American intelligence agencies. Saying "hard drives are a hackers best friend" means you don't know what you're talking about, aand you clearly don't know what hard drive encryption is. If you encrypt a harddrive partition properly, neither the feds OR hackers can get into. Stop shilling for Apple, they don't have your best interests at heart.

One doesn't even need government resources. Just a laptop with a wifi sharing device, name the network something along the lines of "Free Wifi", and bring the setup to a public area for a hour. Once someone connects and uses my network for Internet, anything that he/she is doing or has done on the laptop can be retrieved.
Be careful when you connect to free wifi in public, and never ever login to internet banking or purchase with credit card when on such networks

This clip shows only a few moments... who knows how long it took... but it is indeed very very possible. Just google your best friend or someone you know and see how much information is available.

The loud clicking was added for effect. that sheet looks quite thick so maybe it would cover the actual computer sounds. also they're in a town area so outside noises would have helped cover the computers.

Great video. Many people dont think about their onlife lifes and what they state at all.
it's not just the younger crowd it's everybody.
It's very easy to make what they did difficult:
* Make your Facebook photos and posts private (friends and friends of friends only).
* Never reuse passwords.
* Use strong passwords with alphanumerics (upper and lower case) and symboles that are atleast 8 characters long.
* Pay for phone number privacy where you can (prevents sites like white pages from scraping your number and using it to find your address)
* Avoid using your full name in conjunction with your full location on the internet

There is another issue there too: be careful what information on you your friends put online. If I have your phone number and home adress, and person C has your mobile number and we both upload our adress books to facebook (becuase that's what facebook asks us to do and hey, we are not critical), then facebook knows your email, home adress, phone number and mobile number without you ever registering. Then if you reply to a website with a 'like' button, they can couple the info to your IP.
