Hell yeah totally agree Named my Rottweiler after the character great movie some people might say I’ve watched it a couple of hundred times to much But I can’t get enough of
@@BradleyWentzel "I AM AN FBI AGENT!" ha. that still cracks me up. :) So many great scenes, but jumping out of an airplane w/out a parachute is the best. It may not actually be possible to catch someone and hold on until you land, but I don't care. Great scene.
This movie had an incredible cast. Keanu is great. But this was a Patrick Swayze movie. His energy just permeates every scene. This movie and Roadhouse, and Red Dawn cemented the deal for me, and there will never be another one like him. Oh, and that one movie with Liam Neeson, let's not forget that banger...
I met him ( I’m a musician he and his wife attended) they were both soooo sweet- he was all about US!! In awe of the music! We were all like OMG it’s Patrick S!! And he remained soo humble , sooo short lol! But he danced w many people at the party, and w his wife. Sweet people , humble
Once I saw this movie, I wanted to surf but I didn't know how to swim. Learned how to swim late in life, then a friend gave me a surf board before being deployed. The ocean humbled me. I took a beating but never gave up. Now I own 6 surf boards and had my first skydive this year, thanks to this movie for inspiration, my friend and my kid for inviting me to skydive on his 18th bday.
Swayze was the one and only Bodhi. He brought that character to life with so much depth and passion. The aspect of his spirituality was perfectly portrayed. You could easily believe that he was a real person.
I literally felt sick to my stomach after watching the remake in theaters. Literally everyone who left the theater looked sick. I physically felt like I was gonna vomit after watching the remake.
I was a skydiver at Perris, California when Patrick Swayze took his beginner’s course. Apparently he was a natural (as a good dancer) and was able to do some (maybe all) of his own skydiving scenes. It’s very clear in the movie that it’s him whereas Keanu didn’t do any skydiving scenes himself. That being said, the skydiving scenes were preposterous, for example, you can’t have a conversation while skydiving and you don’t freefall for long - typically 60 seconds. The low pull was rather unbelievable too, if I remember correctly.
This film inspired me so much, tried surfing as a kid, went on a skydive, but armed robberies was my thing, i used a gremlins mask. 8 robberies, now on life sentence in san quentin. What a ride dude.
I found this 'spiritual side' of nature every single high altitude mountain peak I ever climbed over decades - DOZENS of them. They will test all your physical and mental strength. You want to give up at times. but something inside just keeps telling me to KEEP GOING. You take those last few exhausted steps to the tiny summit and suddenly witness you are on top of the world and the beauty of it all is beyond words! The emotions just hit you, every time. 4 months after chemo and surviving stage 4 cancer, I was on a mountain at around 14,000 feet, everything just slipped away as I was rest-stepping uphill. I watched my whole life pass before my eyes, from childhood on, and then I suddenly found myself on top. I cried. It was the most amazing feeling I have ever felt! God I miss climbing!
Swayze really drove this film, with a bunch of great supporting actors. I still can’t see what others see in Keanu from an acting perspective. I understand he’s great to work with, great work habits, but he just isn’t believable as an actor for me, sounds really stilted. I purposely went through his films looking for one where he would prove me wrong, but haven’t found anything.
@@LRRPFco52I mean he’s playing a former jock turned uptight fbi agent who’s a goody two shoes experiencing a whole new world opening up to him while trying to figure out how to do what’s right. To me he’s perfectly cast in this role as Johnny Utah.
@@TomMcMahonMUSIC I would have cast Matt Dillon, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, or Johnny Depp as Johnny Utah. Any of them would have brought actual depth of character and believability to the role. The scene where Keanu says, "I am an F B I agent!" felt like Bill & Ted. It just was stilted. Should have had pain in his voice showing the internal conflict like any of the others would have intuitively known to do.
This movie turned out to be something special. Patrick and Keanu being cast in the roles they were and the performances they gave made this movie magic. It wouldnt of been the same without them.
The charisma of Patrick Swayze is unmatched in this film. The impressionable Gary Busey and the baby faced Keanu Reeves make a quality movie together and is action packed throughout the film.
There are several quotes from that movie that bounce around in my head every day. “Fear causes hesitation and hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true“
I remember seeing this as a kid and I thought, who in their right mind would think to cast Patrick Swayze as a bad guy? Might as well go ahead and make Denzel Washington a bad guy next! 😂shit... Wait a minute ... 🤔
30 years ago my sister described this movie to me in 3 words. Surfer, Bank, Robbers. "Somebody push play". I love this movie. I always wondered what happened to Gromet. Glad to see he's ok
I was 18 when this was released. It really struck the right chord for our generation at that time. It's a great movie that has stood the test of time. 😁
Few movies grab your soul and become life changing, Point Break is one of those monumental movies. If you're not livin on the edge, then you're taking up too much space. 🏄♂️🤙
The first time I saw this movie I was at the Beach in a hot summer night and in the local community they had this big poster announcing the event whoever wanted to see it was for free, a big White screen set along the Beach as a courtain. And when the movie started I felt the whole vibration and started to get almost inside the movie, those surfing scenes and the skydiving and the bank robbering man right then I knew want I wanted to do, from that night I've always knew that I had to give a shot to the title and jump on a surfboard and feel the experience. I thank Katrin and the whole team for bringing to life the Best Action Movie of All Time...By the way Katrin is an awesome director and has the mindset and clarity to direct action movies. See Zero Dark Thirty...🏄♂️
the great thing about this film is , Patrick swayze ,insisted on doing the majority of his own stunts , including the sky dive & learned to surf to give it more senerity & believability , as he did in alot of his films, he was what the Americans would call an all American, was a jock in high school ,could dance , sing & was an accomplished martial artist aswell , rode horses for fun which helped out in some of his early roles ,
"Utah, two, get me two" That line wasn't in the script, Gary did that on impulse, he thought just sitting in the car looking at the magazine was boring, they liked it and kept it in.
Bodhi is one of the greatest characters ever to hit the screen. RIP Patrick Swayze, you were one in a million.
A very Memorable Character in a Great Film.
My two best favorite characters of all times is "Bodhisatva" and "Allonso" from training day.

That’s awesome 👍
Kathryn Bigelow is a beast. The intensity and the soul of Point Break are unparalleled to this day. She created movie history here.
THEY DONT MAKE EM LIKE THIS ANY MORE. THE BEST OF THE BEST❤
the first fast and furious movie is almost an exact copy of this movie

💯
This is the best right here. You can't beat an original. The remake, I refused to watch!
You can't top Reeves and Swayze.
Couldn't agree with you more
100% brother
I gave in... watched the "remake" but wishing didn't!. My curiosity well and truly killed my cat!
I literally felt sick to my stomach after watching the remake in theaters. Literally everyone who left the theater looked sick. I physically felt like I was gonna vomit after watching the remake.
This movie is the sole reason I took up skydiving. 30 years and thousands of skydives later, I still love it.

No doubt. No Point Break, No The Fast & The Furious. Respect to the original story!
Monthly?? Rookie, I watch it weekly! Hahah
Amazing film ! Busey is larger than life. Swayze at his best !
