They are simply magnificent, conservation efforts will bring their old form. I saw what PCGS did with 1427 piece of buried gold coins. Peoples trust you with their treasure, unfortunately peoples don't have trust in some loud mouth. Someday I will have these kind of coins in my collection. Thanks a lot numi. Keep up the good work.
I love them, very glad I found you and this video I'm the proud owner of some as of resent little country auction had a sale of 100.coins found in jars under a sheed.
I have always liked early 20th century American coins (gold, silver, and nickel) and 19th century gold pieces, and it is a tribute to those designs that we have recycled them for our modern bullion coins and the first spouse gold series. Today, I look at the Philip Nathan run of Britannia designs, and I sense that they will be the collector's favorite of the future.
Love the $2.50s. Interesting denomination, the liberty head coins have an awesome design, and the incuse Indian design is fantastic. Do love the $20 liberties too (don't own any of those though... maybe someday...)
I bought a 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle from the mint back in the day. It came the same way your coin did. Out side the airtite. It had damage but it was a beautiful coin. Because it was almost pure gold it had rim damage. It graded PL69 from NGC. What if, right?
Anything 1938 to 1961 Dahlonaga Ga, Or Charlotte. $1 to $2.50 coins that were used by those people of the time. then New Orleans mint. Dixie coins. Other than that, gold US or Canadian bullion.
There's just something wrong, with having a Panerai on a bracelet. Took me years to accept that they use leather on divers. But now, it's as perfect as bread and butter ;-)
They used the same Liberty bust on the $1 type 1 gold and the $20 gold you have there. I noticed they used to recycle a lot of the same designs, obverse and reverse, on our currency. Perhaps they were missed opportunities for fresh new designs many had desired.
This was a super interesting video. I’m just starting to stack silver and understand what I want to collect going forward. The thought of collect gold is daunting but I have to say that you have picked my interest in pre 1933 gold
2009 HIGH RELIEF Saint Gaudens *Wish List* Prices are STILL VERY EXPENSIVE for a Beautiful Saint Gaudens Gold Coin! Thanks Again for Your Posts Numi !!! 😉
I found myself at this video again, even though i just commented on these coins, my favorite coins as an American as far as pre 33 are the indians, and then the liberty 10 and 20 dollar coins, but i am really thinking of getting the british gold coi
I’m trying to save for an eagle collection. Just one each size, not worried about year or mint mark. I love the idea of conservative and grading, but it’s pricey isn’t it? And unless I thought a coin was very special, I’m sure the dealer would have sent it was it deemed valuable enough. I also love the shield back sovereign. But really nice ones I have found are pricey and hard to find in person.
Awesome Looking Saint Gaudens gold Double EAGLES Are Beautiful Coins! *Thanks for Posting this Educational DETAILS Grading Video = Very Precious TEN DOLLAR INDIANS Are Fabulous!
Congratulations on your new partnership with Heritage. Hope it works out well for you. The coins you featured sell for a little over spot until you get past 61 or 62, and then they increase in value significantly. If given the choice between a nice old gold coin and modern bullion with similar premiums over spot, I’d choose the old coin almost every time. Older US coins have come down A LOT in price over the last 5-10 years. Maybe there’s more downside, or maybe the market has bottomed out. I’m hoping the latter is true. If money were no object, I’d take a 1907 Saint-Gaudens UHR. Amazing looking coin and great story behind how it was designed and struck. I think the 1915-S Gold $50 Panama Pacific Octagonal is the nicest commemorative the US has ever minted. It’s very heavy. Over 2.5 ounces. 1861 gold coins from New Orleans, Charlotte, and Dahlonega are in great demand because of the Civil War significance. Those mints were seized by the Confederacy that year and stopped or minting or minted very few afterward. All are very expensive, but the 1861-C $5 Liberty Head is pricey but not unattainable in XF or possibly AU. I’d love to add one of those soon. Like most people I could go on, but you get the point. My wish list is huge.
That’s the biggest issue I guess that the wish list is long and the good ones are still too expensive. Having said that I would love a Proof half eagle of any year in my collection.
Compared to sovereigns, are pre-33 American bullion gold coins like the eagle or half eagle any more difficult to sell in the U.K.? Is the premium over spot gold narrower on the American vs British coins?
My best advice to the consignor of these coins is to not have them graded. They have very little numismatic premium, which would be wiped out by the mailing and grading costs.
These are nice i think these old ones are super the st gaudens 2009 is where i focused i follow your sov lead in uk where i focus my small gold collection i buy old silver bars with ratio where it is
This group of coins my provide reason as to why so many coins are cleaned. 50 years ago if my grandfather gave me these 50+ yrs old coins stored in a musty envelope with a haze on them, I would not hesitate to grab a rag and make them shiny again.
There is a saying in the US about all problem free coins being already in a holder, and those who are not, having issues. So interested on seeing if any of those will get details.
What a nice little hoard someone sent to you. It looks like all of them have MS details but just covered with that haze from the paper envelopes. Did you ever do a follow up video to see the results? I would be very interested to see the grades. Thanks for posting.
Unless they are semi rare or rare they are not worth getting for an investment they have come down a lot as a coin. I had 10 of the $20 all slabbed and I was very lucky to get my money back after holding for 8 years. Switched to Sovereigns and they are doing very well.
In my opinion, an 8 year holding period is too short of time to expect much appreciation. Over long periods bullion type coins appreciates at approximately average inflation rates. You might be lucky and catch a quick upswing but they don’t happen often and you more likely will hold through 10 or 20 year periods where gold doesn’t move much. So it’s best to see this as an inflation hedge that hopefully you enjoy owning, holding and seeing in hand.
My favorite gold coins. Looking forward to seeing the end results after conservation and grading. You must be the reason there’s such a high wait time for conservation at NGC/NCS. 😛
I will like to purchase a graded $20 Double eagle liberty head .and what grade should i aim for?? And which GRADING COMPANY IS BEST NGC OR PCGS? THANKS
WOW that is wild I am still missing the $4 dollar Stella for my collection also. I do have a 1870 p PCGS-62 $3 gold piece. I have been looking for a 1870-s $3 gold but I doubt I'll ever be able to purchase one.
Also, some of these will hugely benefit from conservation as you mentioned. Few have PVC damage but that may be resolved by the conservation if it is not too bad. Most will grade between AU:Details and MS-61. Very cool coins.
I agree - they will look a lot nicer conserved and in slabs. Glad you like the proof half eagle...certainly the pinnacle of my collection at the moment....much like your awesome pre-1900 gold proofs from Britain #DOWant :) .
I must say, i dont like pre 33 going to any other country, but i guess its more important that the pre 33 goes all over the planet than not in order to save it, for example, i have 1924 1 ruble communiat, great coin, i have a 1936 maybe, right before our best friend of germany did well. The shit the soviets made was still under america, well, well? Our coins were pretty good, the silver ones anyhow
Du you have any Danish gold coins in your collection? If not you really should have at least one or two - I've noticed you like nice coins. They're not the most rare (in Denmark at least) except I think of the released years only one year is semi rare and then there's some rarer than hens teeth because those very limited numbers out there shouldn't be there at all - they should still be in the Danish National Bank and no one knows how they got out. Especially the years 1913 and 1915 to 1917 there's a lot in great condition of as a few years back the National Bank sold an amount of them in nice cardboard brochures - directly from being stored 100 years uncirculated in the bank directly to you. So while the Danish coins (yet) doesn't win on rarity they IMHO is some of coins with the best minting - ever. Under a magnifier it's stunning all those very small details which are absent on most other countries coins. Especially the shield on the back is very rich in details. Even on the small 10 kroner coin - in fact I think from a technical point of view it's actually better than the 20 kr. despite being smaller NO(!) details seems lost when compared to the larger 20 kr - even though the 20 kr is the richest coin I know when compared to other countries coins. Now I only hope that the National Bank will sell some of the previously unreleased years in the same style as the other mentioned. I'd be the first to buy them all. Was a priceless moment when I walked into the bank to buy them all they released. Have always been buying stuff on flea markets and sold again to make som profit and since they don't take credit card in the National Bank (weird, I know) I then had a rather large pile of random bank notes some more worn than others - not directly from an ATM. The lady behind the counter "Oh! That's all your savings!" :D
I think the $3 gold piece is pretty cool - an obscure and often forgotten member of the pre-33 family.
They are simply magnificent, conservation efforts will bring their old form. I saw what PCGS did with 1427 piece of buried gold coins. My favorite pre 33 gold coins are the $10 Indian head designed by st gaudens
Absolutely stunning collection !
Thx. You for showing us some beautiful history .
💯

That was very nice of you to share those gold coins with us. Thank you Numi.
Fantastic show numi!!! Love the pre33 and history as well as golllllld
Gorgeous! I can’t wait to see them when they come back from conservation and grading. Thanks for the video. Semper Fi. Dave
It's March 18, 2022 and I just purchased the Gold Double Eagle, BU. I don't know the year yet as package hasn't arrived yet. I love pre-33 gold.
I truly love pre-33 gold. I have them in everything but the twenty dollar. That's next on my list.
Great video just started and I'm holding on to my cash for the coin show later this month and I'm going to start with pre gold
Numi did you post video of graded results for these Double Eagles?
I really like the $20 double eagle, awesome video!
I bought a 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle from the mint back in the day. It came the same way your coin did. Out side the airtite. It had damage but it was a beautiful coin. Because it was almost pure gold it had rim damage. It graded PL69 from NGC. What if, right?

2009 HIGH RELIEF Saint Gaudens *Wish List*
Prices are STILL VERY EXPENSIVE for a Beautiful Saint Gaudens Gold Coin!
Thanks Again for Your Posts Numi !!! 😉
Hi Numi. My choice of an early US gold coin is the 1915 Pan-Pacific $50 Octagonal. *:-)*
Wow those are great! I had never even heard of them so thanks. They have to be pretty pricey huh? I can't even find one for sale.
All that gold, gonna start calling you the leprechaun 😉
I found myself at this video again, even though i just commented on these coins, my favorite coins as an American as far as pre 33 are the indians, and then the liberty 10 and 20 dollar coins, but i am really thinking of getting the british gold coi
Thanks for the video. Very interesting and lovely design coins. Will be good to see pictures of the pre and post conserved coins.
They're beautiful the $20.00 gold coins. I just received one from 1902.
Why would he send them to you to be graded? Just a question.
I’m trying to save for an eagle collection. Just one each size, not worried about year or mint mark. I love the idea of conservative and grading, but it’s pricey isn’t it? TEN DOLLAR INDIANS Are Fabulous!
I like the type ones and type 2. But I have them all. I live in the USA so I can buy them anytime I want.
My Dad coveted his $20 money flip for over 40 years. Bought at a coin shop in Aspen co. Turned out to be fake, but still an oz of gold.
Beautiful pre-33 gold you have ,New Sub👍🏻👍🏻
My favorites are liberty double eagles and $10 Indian head
Congratulations on your new partnership with Heritage. Hope it works out well for you.

Sovereigns are easy to sell and half Eagles I have had have been easy to sell
My best advice to the consignor of these coins is to not have them graded. They have very little numismatic premium, which would be wiped out by the mailing and grading costs.
and they would be negative if they go to auction houses to get better value (after paying the auction fees on the graded semi-numi's).
These are nice i think these old ones are super the st gaudens 2009 is where i focused i follow your sov lead in uk where i focus my small gold collection i buy old silver bars with ratio where it is

Beautiful coins😍👍
I’ve always wanted a liberty head double eagle in worn condition to just carry around in my pocket.
I love them out in the open, but when I'm not playing with them I put them in capsules.
Some nice $20 gold pieces. My favourite would be the St Gaundins Doble Eagle hands down.
SalivateMetal That's how most people start out buying gold.
What is the typical gold content in pre 33?
All these coins looked clean
I would be amazed if they were not at some staged cleaned. It was not always a crime in the coin collecting community to polish up your gold
That’s probably why 2/3 of them got a ‘details’ grading.
I am based in HK and it’s very hard to get those from LCS
Goodness gracious ❤
My pre 1933 choice, given money was no constraint would be the Brasher Doubloon!)
Id love to see your collection of pre '33 gold coins
There is a saying in the US about all problem free coins being already in a holder, and those who are not, having issues. So interested on seeing if any of those will get details.
Its funny how you are from there, and im from here. I stack Britannias and old Triumphs.
What a nice little hoard someone sent to you. It looks like all of them have MS details but just covered with that haze from the paper envelopes. Did you ever do a follow up video to see the results? I would be very interested to see the grades. Thanks for posting.
The grades were 2/3 MS details unfortunately
Can you do a video on all of your U.S. gold coins
I love the $20 gold as well as the $3 dollar.
Gosh they really are stunning
Does anyone know if north Korea also has silver or gold coinage? I hope so, i want to think people have cool coins
What a big ass pick up amazing stack
Besides the obvious, a flowing hair Stella.
I started my stacking journey in 1994 by buying 15 double eagles. Paid $385/ea., those were the days.
I have a 20dollar liberty head double eagle coin 1904 where can I sell it
Unless they are semi rare or rare they are not worth getting for an investment they have come down a lot as a coin.
I had 10 of the $20 all slabbed and I was very lucky to get my money back after holding for 8 years. Switched to Sovereigns and they are doing very well.
so is sovereign better at holding value?

What's the best value pre 33 gold coins? That have best value over spot but also hold their value when resale in future?
Probably half eagles
My favorite gold coins. Looking forward to seeing the end results after conservation and grading. You must be the reason there’s such a high wait time for conservation at NGC/NCS. 😛
There is a long waiting time for me too
Started my stacking journey in 1994, buying 15 pre-33 double eagles.
I will like to purchase a graded $20 Double eagle liberty head .and what grade should i aim for?? And which GRADING COMPANY IS BEST NGC OR PCGS? THANKS
66 grade and either company is good
I love these so much. I am thinking those are what I will trade my crypto currency for when the time is right. Probably some St. Gaudens too.
Very nice video! Thank you sir.
WOW that is wild I am still missing the $4 dollar Stella for my collection also. I do have a 1870 p PCGS-62 $3 gold piece. I have been looking for a 1870-s $3 gold but I doubt I'll ever be able to purchase one.
A 62 $3 is just amazing
I picked up a MS61 $3 goldie a few weeks ago. Awesome coin and yes pricey as heck.
Personal favorite is the $10 1908-1932 indian princess
Very pricy ))
i would have this gold coin
Canadian Gold Maple Leaf
I wonder if Israel Switt had any more 1933 St Gaudins hidden away somewhere
The last coin is the best! Frosty D!
Any gold Coin hard hard but I think an Ultra High Relief Double Eagle MCMVII in PR-69
Hello, I have a Liberty mint 1900. I want to sell it, how much is it?
majd

Very nice! New sub
Welcome
is a 1891 CC a rare one?
I would like a gold 5 dollar gold liberty head gold coin
Those are amazing!
You mean the first mint in the USA. 😊
Great video as always. The $4 Stella comment made me smile :)
Also, some of these will hugely benefit from conservation as you mentioned. Few have PVC damage but that may be resolved by the conservation if it is not too bad. Most will grade between AU:Details and MS-61. Very cool coins.
Although they are not the rarest I think that conservation will help see and enjoy them properly in this case. I would like your half eagle proof )))
I agree - they will look a lot nicer conserved and in slabs. Glad you like the proof half eagle...certainly the pinnacle of my collection at the moment....much like your awesome pre-1900 gold proofs from Britain #DOWant :) .

Saint guadens double eagle hands down
Зачем метальные монеты закатывать в гробы!?
Is that Fake Sovereign you are talking about from Liberty Coin?
No I don’t think so )) it belongs to a SilverForum member
That does not contradict itself. I'm talking about the dealer "LC" who sent a 1911C Sov to a Silverbug
Hope to see 1911 C someday, that will be something. 🤣🤣🤣😃🤣🤣🤣

10$ are my jam (2024)
These are hot!
I would not put those coins in a rough paper envelope.
I’m spoiled on us coin design can’t get into sovereigns and sterling British coins.
P.S. my dream coin is a 1797 large eagle $10.
Improperly handled!
