I think this is your best video so far sharing the history of one of the coins in your collection! I feel like I’m in a continuing education course and really enjoy that there’s another side to collecting which is knowing what you’re collecting. It’s also very obvious that you are a Numismatic Fanatic! 😊
I’ve been stacking gold & silver for a while but mostly just for lowest price so I haven’t purchased and graded coins. Plus I like to hold my coins in my hands without the plastic cases. I had not bought any Pre 33 gold until I recently bought an eagle and double eagle at close to spot at my LCS. They’re not graded, but I still think they’re great!
I want some pre 33 so badly but it's definitely hard to save money for some especially with spot increasing, leaving me less and less "extra" cash. Great video and tips though. Really awesome stack.
@@StatesideStash definitely right. Thanks bro. Really been liking your stuff a lot. If you end up getting channel stickers made id love to add one to my sticker board. I only have a couple left and I'm not sure if I'll get more since I'm not putting content out anymore. Anyways, have a great week buddy.
It's better to say that Pre33 Double Eagle gold coins are 90% gold(Fineness) with a minted weight of 33.44g. Thus it has only abt 30.1g of Average Gold Weight(AGW) or only 0.967 of a troy oz of gold. It's not a full ozt of gold. The current gold Eagle is a 91.67% gold(Fineness). With a 33.93g, it has 31.1g AGW or the full ozt of gold. So there is actually 1g of gold less in the Pre33s, not 0.5g less.
I have yet to purchase any pre 33 gold as of yet, not to say that I won’t in the future. I have purchased gold and silver in all other area. I didn’t think I would get into vintage silver but recently I got a really good deal, so now I own vintage bars 🤷♂️ Keep up the good work SS, I enjoy watching your videos 💯💪🏼😎🇺🇸🦅
Good video. What’s your thoughts on the liquidity and choice between these two gold coins the British sovereign at .23 ounces of .910 gold versus the 10 pesos .24 ounce .900 purity.?
Nice vid. I love love pre33 gold, especially double eagles snd $10 Indian head....isnt awesome! If i had known more about pre33 gold i would have bought more MORE.... Pre33s....still ok .....now rather later😜
I'm glad my grandfather and his father gave them a big ol 🖕and kept their per 33 gold.. It wasn't alot but I'm glad to have it in my collection.... Now or days, I just get modern stuff because I'm not over paying for gold 😅.. Thanks for your time and the video
@@StatesideStash exactly, I feel the same way... honestly I'm more thankful that my parents and grandparents before me taught me all about it... because from what I understand most of the time it's only a handful of people per generation that really understand what craziness is going on in this world and how everything fits together
My l.c.s is selling anything ms63 and under for scrap . Graded or not same price. He says real collectors collect ms64 or better. I say ok save me the ms 63 's
In my view, aiming at lowest premium you will always be second to a professional seller the day you want to sell. Why would people buy from you so to speak. However, stacking semi numismatic coins, let’s say 10-30% over spot would add a rarity factor the day you sell.
Right now, MS64 common date slabbed St Gaudens sells for less than a 1 oz gold eagle bullion coin. Not a good investment unless you have rare date or MS66 or higher. That is pretty pathetic actually. I will never buy another one.
@@StatesideStash - Well on Apmex MS64 double eagle selling for $2600+, but you cannot even get spot on a buy back. Bullion gets you spot or above all day every day. So what is advantage of having slabbed double eagles MS64 or below?
@@StatesideStash That's a good idea. I had to number coins going to PCGS, I used a Sharpie on the Mylar. So why not use a Mylar, Mark the Mylar then open the Mylar to 45 degrees to display the coin much the same way you did in this video. Cardboard is tackier than Copper.

I really enjoy this channel and your no bs attitude. Very informative.
Thanks for the kind words Howard! Always great to hear from you!
Pre 33 is beautiful and the history is awesome.
I don't have much and nothing in a slab. That is a beautiful coin!
It's awesome to see all the detail!
It’s sad to see how detailed are coins were back then compared to now
Really enjoying your videos and your channel. Looking forward to what's next!
Appreciate it brotha! Always thankful for people like you who watch and comment
Man loving the content, every video has been extremely informative.
Thanks brotha!
I dislike slabs but with what pre33 gold is going for totally agree..
Same. I’d rather have that coin in my hand like the capsules you sent me but pre33 needs to be slabbed in my opinion
Congratulations on your two month anniversary posting videos on YT! Very impressive view and subscriber success 😊
Thank you!

Even if you just save as little as $40 to $50 a week you’ll get one in a short year! I have faith in ya! Keep stacking

When did you start your numismatic journey?
My overall numismatics I started two years ago. Pre33 gold maybe a year ago
Good info. Thanks
Absolutely!
I have a 20$ 1908 grade is 63. My grandfather left his collection in the family.

Welcome brother!!! Haha
I have a 1853 Copper Penny that looks just like that.
Yep large cents used the same obverse as the silver and gold coins did back in the day

That's not a Flip that is a piece of rubbish. I use the hard mylar Flip but only to send coins to be graded. Plastic is the best, we all know that.
Cardboard is for the shows and LCS that they use to write down grading
