I miss hd nation so much! Still rocking a Panasonic plasma from 2013 that you guys said had an excellent picture quality for price at the time. Almost 6 years old and my plasma still has AMAZING picture quality! Great to see u guys together again and wish you the best!
I had to go back and watch HDN-Tekzilla from 10 years ago with Robert and Patrick. It was a lot of fun seeing what was new then, which seem like you get for free today in a box of Capt'n Crunch. Looking forward to looking back on this day, 10 years from now!
I had recently upgraded to Sony A9F 65 inch from Sony W954A 46inch but with the money invested to buy a new OLED tech and 4K I do not see a big difference in color. I do not know why it is my eye or 4K content not playing but overall I will honestly say OLED are still not a wise decision to upgrade. It needs more development where color will pop, everything will be a pleasure to watch football, movie even games. OLED has lots of issues to be erased burn in, motion flow, too much brightness they call it refreshing to reduce burn in etc etc.
I will love to see what SONY will do if they licensed the HISENCE technology ! I also wonder why PANASONIC exited the North American market leaving a opening for everyone else to fill. I saw a lot of great performing PANASONIC TV's in the UK , OLED and LCD , that I really don't understand their move out ! Do you know why ?
OMG from Robert Heron to Robert 'Silver Nape' Heron!!! :P :P :P BTW the TV manufacturers should look at Corsair's LED tech. I think that will be the way to go for LCD.
Yup, Sony put out an 11 inch OLED in 2008, the XEL-1. It was $2500, the screen looked even smaller than it is/was, primary colors were... not accurate, except for green, which was incredibly off. Skin tones were pretty meh, and the reflective coating on the screen made it hard to use in a bright room, tho it was plenty bright, and a lot of folks fell in love with it, cause nobody had ever seen blacks like that before. -Patrick
I haven't seen robert in awhile and all i can say is HOLY F&%# ive known for years that Robert was older than patrick but it finally happened. its like he's been hit by a gypsy curse look at Robert in the DLTV clips on here from 2005, and then HDNation 2014 he looks about the same now look at him here.
@@Tekthing what 2018 tv is best you think just curious tryna get an idea from you guys having a hard time deciding, wish hd nation would come back miss that

Glad to see Robert back with Patrick. Why no love for the projectors, didnt they show any worth sharing?
We've talked up all the projectors we can on our podcast, AVexcel.com... the projectors we saw at CES were under NDA till this spring -Patrick

guy on the right (your left): where did you buy that bowling shirt? very very snazzy!
Just a thought. Can the picture on the LG roll-up screen be adjusted so it can be ceiling mounted to roll down like a projector screen?
No idea!
@@Tekthing It would probably weigh too much.
ha,no man gosh!
It’s May 2019 when the TCL 8 series is coming out??

Samsung was already showing off MicroLED based TVs at the show, and several mfgs seem to be looking at similar tech. -Patrick
@@Tekthing YES!!!! Do it with HiSense's new dual layer VA Panels. And we all can die happy.
Is the new JVC 4K Projector DLA N5 good
Does the new oled improve the burn in problem?
so all the Tv makers are taking thier cue from Spinal Tap...Turn it up to 11
No mention of micro led. What can’t you talk about coming?
That thing we signed the NDA on...
TekThing You can just can’t give out specific details. Will future be better. Mind blowing? Or just bits and pieces of over priced features
