- This is one of many videos showing my progress on the development of a customized ECU for M102 8V 2.0L engine. The ECU runs a program that I've written which give me the freedom to define perfomance and fuel economy.
The M102 engine is a beast that was never given the attention it needed to perform, but now it can.
Wonderful car peter.its a really good conversion for the old engines. You need to start making them for sale.

Question though, how's the conversion and ecu upgrade in comparison to a M111 engine?
@@Carbugii M111 was the M102 successor so it has many advancements over M102. It is full EFI, has 4 valves per cylinder, has intake variable valves(some have both intake and exhaust) and much more. The M111 offers better fuel economy and performance. Now, how about M102? This is a serious engine that was built to last. I've seen some M102 pushing 300+ BHP with turbo. This engine, with my words, was never given the love M111 was given. M102 was only offered in 2 variants, carb or K jetronic (FD). This is where my ECU comes in. It equips the M102 with the capabilities of a modern engine. With a computer, the engine can now bring out the beast that was cashed in it. I get outstanding fuel economy, 9-12.8km per liter in city, 12-15 Kms on highway. Performance is another thing. Acceleration is wild my friend, you easily get to 100 kph on gear 2 on a 5 speed manual gearbox. What I'm saying is, you don't need to change M102 engine to get power and fuel economy, just EFI it.
One bottleneck I've observed first hand with M102 to M111 swap is wiring issue. Those who have managed to make their M111 run don't fully get all the wiring correctly done which means, part of the engine doesn't work( like the variable valve operation, cold start throttle, acceleration feel, etc). If one chooses to do the engine swap, I ask them to be sure they have a proper wiring technician who will connect all wiring correctly to the ECU and the body. Also, marrying the M111 harness to the body to make sure the cluster dash works or you are left with dials not working.

Great Job broo, I wanna asking what ignition coil you are using? we can use anything ignition coil or must be specific for M102 engine?
Any coil on plugs should work. Check the length though.

how do you place individual fuel injectors on each cylinder if it was using a carburetor before ? do you drill the manifold?

You are most welcome. Yes, we've already installed it on a Peugeot 505 stationwagon 2000cc successfully and it's been running since June this year. Fuel consumption is great both on city and highway drive.

Hey man. Yes it will :) Since it is a 2.3 engine, the fuel will need to be slightly added but that's it.

Just so you know, this ECU doesn't have maps or tables for ignition or fuel, it has mathematical formulas that derive the ignition angles needed and fuel needed.The way to tune it is programming it in C++. I already have a base program from which you can tincker with values and also add features to it that didn't exist before.

Hey man. Thank you😁. Regarding BHP, I haven't gone back for actual tests. I have been tuning it and this month, I'll go for the tests. It drives way better than while I had carb and I know I'll get better figures.
