Lauren would like to have friends but often worries that she’ll say or do the wrong thing, which prevents her from interacting with other teenagers. In the past, Lauren used to have friends and misses those connections. Lauren expresses hope in the future that college will afford her a chance to start over with new people and life might be easier for her. In terms of her activities and interests, Lauren enjoys going to the movies but finds it difficult to be around other people. Lauren describes her mood as not happy or sad, just a series of worries circling in her head. These worries are the focus of Lauren’s current mood.
In the first of three DVDs, Lauren’s case is the first subject within the anxiety series, specifically in this case, social anxiety disorder among adolescents.
