A win on a 9 year old race car in a series where only the newest hardware wins is impressive in itself. I'd be seriously pissed in Matt's boots, but It's racing. Jeremy locked up the back tires getting into the turn, put himself into a bad spot and spun both of them, but Jeremy got it going better quicker. I have to say, Nicely done. Glad to see I'm not the only driver to go for YEARS on oval tracks to get a first win on a road course. Good job, Jeremy
@Kuromori Body isn't the same as Chassis. A NASCAR Truck started life in the late 1998 season and didn't retire until it was 19, almost 20 years old - And ran every brand of truck that ever ran in Trucks at that time. They called it 'Freak'. It'd been totaled many times and reconstructed. Here on RUclips, actually. NASCARMAN History: FREAK: The Truck That Wouldn't Die. I don't remember what I referenced to come up with the age of the race car here, but cars with lower-budget teams tend to live for several years before they're replaced - in some cases, over a decade. At which point, they're usually either not worth keeping running or they're no longer allowed to compete due to technical issues.
Upset of the year and decade. Feel-good win and story of the year too. Move over Gilliland in 2006 for the biggest upset in this millennium. Way to go, Jeremy. What a win. What a story.
With what happened to Matt, he'll get his breakout win in a big way I believe. He gave Jeremy enough room in the turn and Jeremy just simply lost the back end of the car and Matt was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Gotta give props to Jeremy though for real. All the years that their team has put together a car and supported this series is phenomenal and Jeremy earned it big time. It all comes down to the last couple laps and everyone is racing for the win so whatever happens, happens. Its racing folks.
I like both NASCAR( not nearly as much anymore) and sportscar racing. NASCAR should race at more road courses. Some of the best races in last few years have been at road courses. I'm just saying if you really like road racing then you should watch sportscar racing more. I honestly don't know why more people don't watch sportscar racing like the IMSA series. The cars are absolutely beautiful to look at and so much diversity in the cars and the sounds of the engines.
A win like Jeremy Clements' win used to be the norm for the Xfinity Series back in time periods like the 90s when the series was not Cup teams but all independent and family-run teams, and you did not need fancy equipment like engine programs and wind tunnels to run decent in Xfinity races! Moments like these where the driver wins an Xfinity race in an almost ten-year-old car in outdated equipment on a shoestring budget without a lot of the resources that big teams will pour millions into are a rarity today because sadly, the series has become so dependent on technology!
I understand all the positive sentiments towards the 51 for being an underdog team and whatnot, but that still doesn't negate the fact that he made an absolutely stupid move and got on the brakes way too late for that to ever work. Tifft gave him room and the 51 just ran him over because he was in over his head. That was an awful piece of driving and he was extremely lucky to still win that race.

This is hands down one of the craziest finishes I have ever seen.
lol i agree, great race with a epic dramatic battle for victory--this is what i love about motorsport racing!!! :0
Never a dull race at Road America
Great win for Clements! Nascar needs more road course races!
Your wish is granted
@@mynameishuhhhh They listened!
This comment aged well
I have never in my life seen the top two spin out, recover and remain first and second.
The BossMan78
that tandem drift they pulled there while saving that was epic for sure
That finish was like something out of a video game. But I'm always pulling for the underdog. Congratulations Jeremy Clements.
Here we are, 5 years later and Jeremy Clements got another Xfinity win!

This is a certified crazy NASCAR finish classic

Unfortunately, this aged very, very poorly.
Wow a spin and he still wins?! Impressive
Jokingwith Tenzeeno The only other person I know to do it was Denny Hamlin at Pocono in 2006 after leading.
So this is Michael Annett's first top 5 finish this season even though he's driving for arguably the best team in XFinity.
Annett sucks
So happy for him he deserved and that was an impressive rookie burnout
i love how the cameras get confused on the last lap
This driver needs to be in the cup series with this team
we need a NASCAR Road Racing Series !
supersevenn Just watch sports car racing
if you cant tell the difference....sportscar racing is like eating the perfect cheese with a fine white wine and Nascar is hotdogs n beer
I'll take hotdogs and beer over wine and cheese any day of the week!

v8 supercars is as close as it gets.
Jeremy Clements deserved this. It may have been his only win, but it was the best win I've seen.
I was so happy to see Jeremy Clements win
Today, Clements is a 2 time Xfinity winner at Daytona.
This made me love road courses! :)
Not only was it Jeremy's first win, but any of the top 3 would've gotten their first win
Clements' best finish 1st and best start 3rd as of 14th May 2021

This was the saddest truth of all the truths no one can comprehend. I'm not being nasty whatsoever.
great job man congrats
yes good win for #51 i pick for the win this #51 and #5 and #11
I say they need to add road Atlanta, Return to Montreal, Run long beach, and add the Toronto street course. also GO TO ELDORA
Every road course race is stellar. Why we still bother with cookie cutter 1.5 miler ovals i just dont understand.
nascardude1400 I hear ya man
Cole Trickle won a race?
Corey Wharton Cole was best driver ever
8:13 that looked like a tornado
that was a racing deal great finsh
In addition to Clements winning, how about that run for Brendan Gaughan in the 62?
Now if only danica can get her first win
thorjay t I know. And she has 0 fans. But can we still let the bitch pretend she has a fucking chance?
I would never imagined NASCAR doing road course racing
Joe Hernandez
In the past few years the road courses have had some of the best races
they should run the cup cars also, not charolette

...who calls it like it is?
I can smell the salt from here. Does a dose of reality really hurt that much?
Clements just dumped tifft what a joke!
