For all the dislike I have of oval racing, I thought these guys did pretty good on this track. Before you dismiss it, look up how a NASCAR is setup. They do great in ovals but for road racing, they have: - the wrong aero - no significant down-force at these slower speeds - the wrong tires - way too thin for road racing at this weight - the wrong weight/distribution - 3,300 pounds (1500 kg) or about half a Formula 1 - the wrong horsepower - 850 HP - the wrong gearbox - just 4 gears and shifter on the floor All in all, NASCAR are horribly difficult to drive and control in this kind of track.
NASCAR needs to establish a fourth racing series (to add to the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series) that races solely on road courses. Maybe even throw in a couple of short tracks to boot.
spyke0511 half the field are rookies or younger drivers under he age of 25 and the second half are drivers that never made it in cup, plus lets not forget this is the second series drivers go through before becoming full time cup drivers, so yes, this is a developmental series
It's not like Indy and F1 drivers come to stock cars and do any better on road or oval courses. These cars are heavier and solid rear axle cars. They're not as sophisticated as even gt cars. They grew up from dirt tracking bootleggers, they're what they're supposed to be..... stop bitching because you can't enforce uniformity! Damn I don't even like NASCAR, but come on....
Still, if nascar raced on road courses instead of ovals I might actually watch it. Ovals don't make for good television, IMO. To this day, I still don't understand how nascar got so popular. I'm glad it's regressing back to where it should be, though. A lot of great Motorsports suffered due to flooding Nascar coverage. It destroyed Speedvision and turned into a nascar network.
Shark And Rexy NR 2004 I would’ve (not “would of”) been surprised had be been in front but he was in the top 15 before his spin. Given he was racing against guys who race every week I think he did great. I got to see him test an INDYCAR once at Michigan - he took it easy since it was a fun thing but I honestly think in his prime Bill Elliot would have been competitive in anything he chose to race.
And it doesn't get punished ! Typical Nascar shit. The previous move wasn't totally clean, but this was just disgusting and cheap. Rubbin is racin says every gay...
I completely agree. What pisses me off is how the Chicagoland Cup race is "the best of the season" when it fucking isn't. To just dump a driver for the win, or for position, is total bullshit.
They always have, road racing is not new to NASCAR stock cars. They had road races in the 60's. Lemans even ran a NASCAR stock car class for two years in the 70's.
With a name like Matt Tifft, he aint never making it to the Cup Series. Rubbin's racing and he did'nt have to spin Christopher Bell who was running good all day.
Bill Elliot. Thank you for the excitement of returning. Still good from what he was use to. At least he finished

That’s exactly what makes it fun to watch
You get the best type of racing when you put cars where they’re not supposed to be running at...
plus solid axles and everything else.....
ya, you can't expect these guys to corner flat out like a an F1 car in these dinosaur race cars.
Road course raceing is the best raceing!
Is it just me, or is Road America narrower than the other road courses NASCAR races at?
5:47 punt of the DECADE
Tifft deserves a pay back. Has no temperament. Unjustified. And Jarrett makes no sense.
NASCAR needs more road courses.
Agree. I think Barber would be a good choice.

Can’t believe James Davidson almost won this race
Is there a penalty on these races if someone makes a stupid move and cost other drivers the race?
Bill Elliott, Katherine Legge, Conor Daly, James Davison… There was no reason *not* to watch this race, was there?
"Playoff points" my a**!
Looks like they all been playing too much iracing and practicing their dive bombing spins lmao
concrete and steel walls wow looks intense
Boy after watching imsa and indycar roll around this track watching these guys is like watching whale racing.
spyke0511 well no shit it’s the fucking developmental series lol of course they’re going to make mistakes
spyke0511 half the field are rookies or younger drivers under he age of 25 and the second half are drivers that never made it in cup, plus lets not forget this is the second series drivers go through before becoming full time cup drivers, so yes, this is a developmental series
And road racers from other series usually suck on ovals.

Man, I thought Bill Elliot would of at least been on the front pack, still good race

He's 62 and hasn't raced even part time in 13 years, you expected that much?
Collin McNaught Probably but then again, like you said, he is old and hasn't raced in a while.
5:50 blatant intentional wrecking.
But it's fine when Kyle Busch dumps Larson for the win at Chicagoland, huh?
And it doesn't get punished ! Typical Nascar shit. The previous move wasn't totally clean, but this was just disgusting and cheap.

Nascar needs to schedule nothing but road courses and short tracks and be done in September. Ratings would shoot up.
I honestly never knew these things raced on road courses.
They always have, road racing is not new to NASCAR stock cars. They had road races in the 60's. Lemans even ran a NASCAR stock car class for two years in the 70's.
Minecraft NASCAR gfa5 gfa6
The commentary sounds like it was recorded in the 1970's
That was a messy ass finish...
Ikr I agree
Boring race, no overtaking
You're boring.

Fozzgate Tifft can't win shit
These guys are young keep in mind they are still learning
you're a fucking moron. I would LOVE to see if you could control a stock car even on iracing
Christopher Bell is learning real quick how to be in The Cup Series and doing a good job at it.
