The IMF has been disavowed. Tom Cruise climbs the tallest building in the world. And Simon Pegg brings the Marvel humor. Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol shook up the franchise... in a good way.
The next episode will be: Hackers (1995)

I was born and raised in the UAE and lived in Dubai for a few years. No, we've never had end-of-days level sandstorms like it was portrayed in the movie. Also, I don't remember the market place scene in the movie but I believe there isn't anything resembling that location anywhere near Burj Khalifa. So they were pretty inaccurate, but hey, they're just movies.
Agreed. True. And yes, they're just movies.
Now need to know what stuff David's been almost caught doing before. Tell us, David, tell us for the lore of it. We deserve to know! Just add a new segment to the end, David's Confessions, where each week you do a one-liner of something you almost got caught doing. For the 40 year old Brits in the audience, I'm picturing Jesse's Diets from The Fast Show.
The main character of the mission impossible show was Jim Phelps who was played by Jon Voight in the first Mission Impossible movie.
I actually don't agree with the speculation that the MCU influenced the shift in tonality for MI. I think it all comes down to the director Brad Bird because he also was the Director for The Incredibles and when you keep that in the back of your head when watching this movie you can really see how much similarities there are between both when it comes to how comedy and suspense are used
I love 4/5/6, they are my go to popcorn entertainment movies. MI3 was good, but like David said it was more intense and dark...which isn't a bad thing, I just enjoy watching the later ones more because the stakes don't feel as dark/intense. The first 2 just feel like relics from the worst 90s blockbuster action movies, granted I haven't seen them in years but I have no intention to go back and see if that's accurate lol
As someone born after Hackers I just had to check out a small trailer to understand what it is. Wow.
Y’all should do the movie Holes. CG doesn’t hold up but the story definitely does.
Please do Gangs of Wasseypur, its really good and really different perspective for you guys.
The most unbelievable part of movie was how come Mumbai wasn't fullof traffic.
I think Bullet Train is right up your alley
In other news BBBY: bed bath and beyond is memeing. Im throwing 100$ at it tomorrow morning. Good luck.
Ghost protocol might change the way the franchise was done, I still think MI3 story was the best one out of all of them even though the action and stunt scene are way better in the future series . The way Tom Cruise acts with his emotion is top notch.
Totally agree. MI3 is so good.
The sand chase is boring?! Holy shit xD
You guys should do the patriot games and the other Tom Clancy movies
The one that franchise changed with M:I 3 IMO.
Ghost protocol is the best mission impossible movie in my opinion
MI4 was my first MI, and i saw it in the theatre and was epic...so then i decided to watch from MI1 and uh...the old ones were boring lol.
Gangs of Wasseypur 1-2, Indian gangster movie, and one of the best in the world, do both in one video, its one movie
damn
another episode where james obviously hates doing this and makes me not want to watch
This movie is redonkulous
2 things of nitpicks?
Hey try out 3 idiots its one of the top 100 movies of all time
The Kremlin Hallway scene has 26m views on RUclips
9:43 - Note to self, object if Riley is somehow ever to be given access to nuclear launch codes.
I know your doing Hackers (1995) next episode, but I am interested to see what your guy's ratings for Prey is. Its filmed in good ol 'Berta's Cowtown.
1:03:40 Yeah, Johnny Harris! I realy like his invedtigations ;) VOX is also doing a really decent job covering difficult topics
Some of THE most fun film experiences ever! I liked that the villain doesn't mind doing shit him self, but he lacked the menace(same with H.Cavill), and the "Russian"scientist (Bosnian actor) sticks out like a sore thumb, he's not a character but a caricature. This is one of THE best franchises with the worse CGI ever, it's literally cartoony, not sure if no one around Tom told him.
Brad Bird should be making way more movies :)
Man, haven't watched it yet. But when I saw what movie it was today, I was like "Oh fuck yea."
"Nothing" is a great little film....you should check it out
When do you guys upload videos and podcasts?
I call this sequel the one where nothing works
Thanks for the setup, filming, editing, and uploading!
awesome profile pic 👌
Man.. the Orville is just incredible. David is bang on, just WATCH IT :D
James gets my respect for referencing Malthusian crisis. Hooray for books! They're more than just movies.
I have been living in the UAE for 30 years now. No, this kind of sandstorm never happens, at least not in the city.
Also about the camels, this is a serious issue because a collision with a camel is usually fatal for everyone in the car, therefore, roads crossing the desert are usually double or even triple fenced to prevent this.
I agree with David, the Orville is top notch! If you liked Star Trek TNG, you will love the Orville... (especially season 3)
the singing is starting up though... and whenever seth goes to music it's telling that they starting to suck and he knows it.
Seth needs to also stop dating the pretty girls and then killing them off when they break up...
I'm really enjoying The Orville. Star Trek Picard and Discovery are so heavy and dramatic, but Orville and Strange New Worlds have that light episodic vibe that i miss from Next Gen and its ilk.
I really liked the orville, but s3 for me is the worst so far, of course personal opinion and will preface this with i think people can be and identify as whoever they want and i have no issues with that. But i watch these shows to escape from all the issues and political bull going on.
So for me season 3 has fallen flat, they kept trying to push these real world issues into the show and personally i am just tired of it.
If like me and i assume a lot of people you want to throw on a sci fi / comedy show so you can have a laugh and escape from all the real world drama for an hour then the orville season 3 is not it.
And i will say, at the end of the day its all personal preference / taste so if you are enjoying the season and enjoying the stories and real world issues they are pushing then that's great.
@@carl3831 That's totally fair. I can see how some of these serious social issues are a step too far from the comedy fare the trailers promised us in the beginning.
I feel like we might have similar criticisms about s3 but overall I'm happy that Orville exists to push actual Star Trek to be better (or at least more nuanced). For a long time it seems like the Bad Robot creatives took fans for granted and delivered such cringeworthy storytelling that I honestly felt bad for everyone involved. Strange New Worlds is a step in the right direction after STD and Picard imho.
HACKERS! Hell yeah, excited for that. I knew you'd get to it sometime.
Jhonny Harris is the guy who worked for Vox and did the Vivalny thing?
It was Hendrix the whole time because they could’ve just killed him but they didn’t
So Ethan is the reason the mission is impossible 🤯
Where are the reviews of the first 3?
Let's hear it for everybody's fun loving cult leader [allegedly], Tom Cruise!!!
Woot-Woot!!!
TMJ's collective hard anti-"hood people" stance is problematic.
These videos are too long
its a podcast
Its Swedish hes talk on the TV, not Russian.
