I've been wearing these for a while. My feet don't get too hot and on summer days yes they are waterproof as long as the water does not go over the boot obviously. I got stuck in a 3-ft deep puddle yesterday and these things turned into buckets the whole ride home water can't escape from them unless you tip them over and pour them out. It's been two days and they're still wet inside.
Josh, sorry to hear about your boots. Yeah they generally keep your feet dry in most instances but in a situation like described, the boot will take on water.
@@chaparralmotorsports like a total idiot I try to use a heat gun to dry them from at least 6 incges away and it's still melted the interior lining now it's ruined
Thank you for your feedback! YES, the Corzal, Beliz and Toucan are all GREAT boots. This NEW Waterproof boot from Astars is more MX focused for the hard enduro / dual sport / aggressive ADV guy who wants just a little more protection. Thanks for watching! -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Chaparral Motorsports thanks Kyle.... we appreciate what you guys do and I love the idea of the tech 7 (which is a classic mx boot) being waterproof. I have rode with Scott boots, Thor boots, Garne boots but none were waterproof and my astar Corzal are soooo comfortable and a dry foot is in most cases the difference between a good day and soggy day💯 so I’d love to try the tech 7 WP!!!!!
Hi John, these pretty much fit true to size so 11 would probably be best. With that being said, one of our sale associates is in the same boat as you however he likes his boots to be tight. So he wears the 10s with a pair of thin socks. Not sure if that helps or not.
How are these for walking around? Still trying to determine what adventure boot to go with. Plan on spending plenty of time offroad so want the waterproofness and height of a tall boot but something that will be comfortable enough at the store.?
These are in-stock and being shipped from our source, but they have not yet hit the shelf here at Chaparral. They are very comfortable boots! I am currently coming out of the Sidi Crossfire boots... and am testing these Tech 7's against the new Leatt 5.5 boots. I'll have a comparison review here soon.... -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Ha Ha! Me too! My current boots are Sidi Crossfire boots from 2006 and they have over 300k miles on them... Still kicking it! Love them! -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
how stiff are they? im a beginner and usually just ride easy trails. I wear work boots right now, I did try my friends boots and HATED how stiff they were. It was very awkward trying to shift
Most MX boot will be fairly stiff. Try taking a look at some adventure (ADV) style boots. They typically offer more flex and mobility for off the bike comfort. www.chapmoto.com/boots/adventure
I wanted these but got the mx version, and water gets in them when i wash them, I swear it gets in on the leather above the toe area, but these have the same thing, are they really water proof?
They have a membrane that will help prevent water from penetrating when being worn, but when washing the boots off if you are not careful and squirt water overt the top then the interior will get wet.
Damn I just bought regular 7’s because they said “water resistant” but didn’t know they’re really not. Sad for me. I’ll have to put Wal-Mart bags on when it snows. I wish I had gotten these instead!
Absolutely agree, a great boot, very comfortable, but they are most definitely not waterproof. My first rain ride wasn’t a lot of water yet my feet were soaking wet. Drystar technology is not anything as good as Gortex when it comes to waterproofing.
Great review, except his poor understanding of water physics. You will NOT be dry if you "cross a waist high creek wearing waterproof pants"! :-) The water will go up the inside of the pants (pants OTB) or just straight down into the boot (pants tucked in). These boots will simply keep you dry wading in an almost boot-high creek.
perfect for my new T7 ,about time we see waterproof enduro boots
AMEN! How are you liking your T7? I am on the list..

What you need is a cheap walmart boot dryer, leave them overnight and they will be dry by morning
Then tip then over and let Drain. Common sense 🤣
Dude's never walked through waist deep water before.
Yeah these boots are waterproof to a point--and waist deep water is beyond that point. What MX/offroad boots do you use for waist deep water?
Well done, great review!
Thank you kindly!
I have the Corzal WP and there absolutely fabulous💪🏻🙏🏻

Anyone know about sizing? I wear a 10.5 US, should I go with a 10 or 11 in these?

How's the toe box height compared to a Tech 3 Enduro?
Hi Kyle, for agressive adventure riding and enduro would you go for tech7 or leatt flexlock?

Carry some walking shoes with you.
Weight is an issue for me on this style of boot. What do these weigh?
Thanks.
Great question, I'll throw a set on the scale.
A lot
Hey Kyle, thanks for the review. Do these fit the same way as the regular non-waterproof T7s?
Yes! Same Same! Nothing different than the waterproof liner. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
Thank you Kyle / Chaparral Motorsports
is there any other color?? or just black??
Hello, these are only available in black. Here they are on our website: www.chapmoto.com/alpinestars-tech-7-enduro-drystar-boots-parent-0202012620106
Do the lugs bind up on the pegs at all? I tend to ride mostly on the balls of my feet.
They shouldn't be much of an issue. Thanks for watching.
I’m Sidi always but these look awesome

I wonder if these are hot to wear, because of the waterproof?
They aren't too bad. Still offer some breathability.
Yes..Hot testimony

im gonna try gortex socks are 40 bucks on amazon
Well, they are water resistant. If it is just misting or you ride through a sprinkler they will be fine.
Why do I hear that these boots leak…noooooooo
Not sure.
Its not waterproof or water resistant at all as they claim it to be. But great boots thou
