    Ah mate, really felt for you watching this, you looked broken and even the banter was starting to dry up and you were just pointing at the nice views towards the end 😂
    Honestly tho- massive kudos for getting that far and then back too, it looked a real beast so nothing to be ashamed of!

    Real admiration for you on this one. That wasn't 40k of running, it was 40k of full-on scrambling. I love how the word technical is used as shorthand for "nine thousand places to break an ankle". Hope the next one is a little easier than this.

    • @AlPepperRuns
      @AlPepperRuns  4 месяца назад +1

      Haha, thanks Jan. Yeah, technical is a rather pleasant but perhaps somewhat misleading term for it. We spent half the day scrambling across boulder fields!

    That was good, a guy in our club did it so it was nice to see the route. Do you want electrolytes? No. Then you get more cramp 😆 Ready salted crisps in the pack from now on Al.

    The Lakes have been our holiday place twice a year for the last 19 years so I know how brutal that terrain is (also we're currently in the Lakes so just doing simple walks is hard!). I said it on FB but HUGE kudos for getting done what you did. Honestly all of that route, whilst beautiful, is absolutely brutal! Scafell Pike should never be underestimated, even if it's terrain you're super used to, it's still tough and takes mental and physical strength. I think you (and Smiddy) did a fabulous job. 👌🏻👌🏻

    The best film yet, mate, not in a mean way but in a way that showed you having every emotion possible to humans. Having DNf’ed twice myself in Ultras, it’s hard to take initially. Just remember, “fail” stands for “First Attempt In Learning”. You’ll come back stronger; you’ll come back more determined; and you’ll come back with just as much enthusiasm as always inspiring us all to go out there and get it. Which reminds me, if you have cramp and someone says, “Do you want some electrolytes?”, the answer is always a resounding “Yes”! Keep up the great work, pal. 💪🏼
