- After a DNF at what was the hardest event I've ran to date - the Scafell Skyrace - I came into this weekend with a lot of excitement and maybe, even a bit to prove! This one may not have been as technically challenging however it turns out that running 110K is an entirely different kind of difficult!

Loved it. Great experience and camaraderie all the way round. Finished just after midnight and that bridge was a very welcome sight!

@@AlPepperRuns We were a bit inefficient at the some of the stops with it being our first Ultra but finished in 15 hours 45 excluding the stops. You sang a bit of Bon Jovi, I was the guy that ran past as you were doing that. Great voice LOL.

Cliffhanger…though you obviously lived to tell the tale! Congratulations, Al. That’s a long bloody way! As a Yank who has never seen Hadrian’s wall, I enjoyed glimpses of it along your route. I look forward to Part 2.
Thank you! Part 2 starts along the more hilly part of the wall. It’s a lovely part of the world. But yeah… it certainly is a long way isn’t it!

ha! when I ran past the first glimpse of the wall two guys behind me decided "time for a vid" and 1 leapt on top... 3 steps later fell off!! lucky didn't crack his head but hope got it on film hehe

Absolutely love this and made an appearance at Lanercross Priory with my support crew. I believe you met my hubby several times running in the opposite direction from each checkpoint as he ran back to find me.
Haha, not that guy! We weren’t sure whether he was real or a shared hallucination?! He jogged happily up hills like they were nothing! Amazing. How did you get on?!
Great video. I ran / walked some of the hills along side you guys on the off-road section. Your enthusiasm was great to see and the camaradie between your group was in contrast to my solo run. Looking forward to the next part.

Thanks Jayden! Most have mine have been around 50k too. I may not be a mathematician but 110k is a lot further isn’t it?! It certainly felt it!

Well done Al! Can't believe how many ultras you've done this year! I'm usually cheering the runners on from the cabins in Ovingham but had to leave early this year. Saw some runners coming through the site around 3.30ish. Amazing achievement and look forward to part 2 🎉
Thanks mate! The guys at Ovingham were great! Had their own pit stop set up! It was just getting dark when I arrived!
Great stuff! There's usually a party going on at the top of the site. I keep saying I'm going to do the run 'next' year. I just don't specify which next year I'm talking about 😁

Absolutely fantastic event I got in for 0030hrs was aiming for sub midnight but was holding on for life from 50mile onwards 🤣 but very happy with my time 17hrs 32mins

@AlPepperRuns 😁 Was going well until Hexham! Then the blisters and injuries kicked in 🥴 Had to slow walk it out to the finish. Got in just under 22 hours. Hope you enjoyed it!? Was a great event. Hopefully bump into you at another race in the future! 🏃🏅

Unfortunately the wife had to pull out at 24 mile. I finished in 15 hrs 48 mins, best time out of the 3 I’ve done. We are still thinking over if there’s going to be a 4 th attempt. 🤔thanks for the reply Al
