Happened to me decades ago in a spiral multi-level lot. It was parked two levels higher. Some lots have identical views no matter where you are, so if you don't hear your horn, try the next section. Huge lots (airports) often give you a section ticket, so at least you're within 100 yards (I guess more than one or two people forget where they parked). Hi Nick, thanks for great videos. I would love to have more information about EQ:s. For example in which part of your longer journey is good to charge - in early part, when it is still 20% battery left, or some other point? And what if you have to leave your EQ MB stationary/unused for longer time. It is more tricky with electric than hybrid ones, isn't it? I'm driving now with A 250e just over two years and waiting for my new EQA to come.
Hey ostarinhelmi, No worries thank you! I think possibly I’ll make a video on this in the future 🤓 But yes Lithium-ion batteries are good to charge at any point as many times as you like / as often as you like etc. you don’t have to run them down to zero and things like that. If you were planning on storing the car (for long periods of time) then it’s advised to keep the battery state of charge (also known as the battery SOC) somewhere between 30% and 70%. Basically somewhere in the middle. This is for storage purposes and isn’t required for day to day use. Ooo very nice! 🤓
Another useful one Nick. Can’t see me using the writing with my left hand one though 😂 PS my warranty overhead unit just arrived, ordered in February 🙄
Well I think the easiest thing to do is if you’re receiving messages on the car that the 12v battery is low due to lower mileage each year….then it might be wise to invest in a trickle charger. Think Mercedes sell them and they’re just over £100 from them directly. I personally haven’t used any others though There are two on their website: accessories.mercedes-benz.com/en-GB/accessories/passengercars/products/safety/breakdown-assistance/charger-with-trickle-charge-function-5a-A0009823021 Best to chat with a dealer as there are two listed on their website site so not sure on the differences.
You do awesome videos! I still got to do the one from the last vid on the messages... I have to take my ipad in the garage with me to watch it then do it...I have the gls 450 matic 2021. I just love it. Is there anyway though to keep the suspension up elevated all the time? I am small and like to stay up high. I looked everywhere and could not find anything on this.. Thank You!!
Hey Delores! Thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! Sadly no I don’t think so, it’s main use is for increasing the ground clearance so it’ll only be when you’re on the move
No sadly not, at higher speeds greater than that, the car could be unstable if raised to high. (In case you had to do an emergency manoeuvre) It’ll auto lower down to keep it stable 🤓
Hello Nick, I’ve just picked up the new CLE and it comes with “Preinstallation” for projection function for symbols and “Preinstallation” for projection function for animations, is it actually in the car or is it an additional cost?
Ah that sounds cool! I’ve read that if anything states “Pre-installation” then you can potentially buy it in the Mercedes store app so probably best to look in there and see what Extras there are.
Switch on the lights? Some models have indicators on the mirrors and some may have projection of light underneath. It’s on by default and the only setting I’ve seen that controls it is under HOME, VEHICLE, LIGHTS and make sure the Ext lights are all on. Typically though only SUV’s have lights shining down but again it can vary.
Nick In the navigation screen I see doted lines and other items that I have no clue what they are. Is there a pdf that has a legend of all the symbols in the navigation screen. That would be a good video if not.
Hey Howard, I’ve seen dotted lines before on a menu but not on the navigation screen. Sadly no there isn’t a pdf with a map legend or anything like that. Have you got a photo? Email it through to me at “contact@npo-media.co.uk” and I’ll have a look
Hey Jagjit, thank you! As long as you have an alarm on your car then it should automatically set when you lock. All cars in the UK have an alarm which primes when you lock after about 60 seconds. Or was it the Acoustic Lock when you lock to get a toot from the horn?
Ah that’s called Acoustic Lock 🤓 Deleting on when your GLC was made and what year it is, For COMAND, it’s on the steering wheel. Press Home, Settings and then it’s in I think Vehicle and it’s called Acoustic Lock. For MBUX, on your centre screen, press Home, Settings and then vehicle and it’ll be in there.
Ah 2019 is when it switched over to MBUX & had a facelift. I’ve also heard from comments on RUclips that it’s not available everywhere round the world (sorry hard to tell where everyone’s from on here 🤓) but if you’re based in the UK it’ll be in one of those places on the previous comment 👍🏼
MB UI engineers probably never touched their electronic devices' settings, probably send them to ITs when encounter problems since little. On iOS or a Nokia 3310, audio settings are right under settings.
@Nick, Again a masterpiece video :) The presentation, carefully chosen words, crisp content, no bullsh** jokes, which makes me happy after watching the whole video. BTW I am a true follower and a subscriber since long time now ... from Germany! If you could answer one question would be great ! @9:15 you answered the resetting on one touch, I have a problem with my CLA 200 - after locking a car, front passenger's window goes a little down, which in Mercedes Me app eventually shows that the one window is open. Any idea how to reset the position? I am sure you must be knowing it, if you have time could you drop a line? Regards, Ravi
Thanks Ravi! Glad you’re loving the videos and thank you so much for being subscribed for such a long time! Hmmm, that does sound strange, I know why they go down a little because of the frameless design, just wondering if doing the one touch reset would fix it?
Hello Nick. Can see in your video (07.04 min) that you also only have 1 disk in your display that shows speed, for example. Have seen on other videos that the GLA 250 E has 2 discs in the display. I can't find that setting (2 diccs) option in my car. Is it because it is optional equipment? Thanks for the good tips.
Thank you glad you enjoy the videos! Ah that’s optional equipment on some models I’ve seen. One is a 7” digital display and one is a 10.25” digital display
Hi Nick, I speak of a AMG GL3, I accidentally enlarged the speedometer display to maximal screen usage while pressing steering buttons. But I don't know how I did it, can you help me recreate my serendipitous luck. Thank you
Hey Tony, ooo very nice! Ah I have a video on the instrument cluster here: ruclips.net/video/wRlJ8DEri8o/видео.html Basically you just use the touchpads on the steering wheel closest to the driver’s door 🤓
Hi …..is it possible to turn off headlights and taillights while engine running? An is it possible to turn off loud muffler sound when starting up car? Thanks
Not sure you can easily, if the car has it you could move the light switch on to the parking lights which will turn the lights off but again only if the car has it. And no sadly I don’t believe there’s anyway to make a car start quieter, other than switching to a hybrid or an electric car where they can start silently! 👍🏼
Hi Nick, Is it possible to use the iPhone Hotspot feature to link with MBUX as an internet service? By the way, I'm looking forward to my 2022 GLB 200 (AMG Line) delivery in October. Thank You. Robert
Hey R Alexander, Quite a common question this one, I’ve covered it before on my Most Asked Questions: ruclips.net/video/tu_Aktw93v4/видео.html Sadly no as there’s nothing you can do on there.
This varies round the world from what I’ve heard on RUclips so it may not be available. Best to chat with Mercedes on that one and they can confirm if your car should have it.
I had an A250 for my first Mercedes 🤫 Haha I miss it to the this day, however sadly it wasn’t 4MATIC But in terms of recommending it’s all down to what is right for you. Hard to tell in comments on RUclips but think of insurance costs and running costs as it is a 2.0 L engine. The car itself though is amazing, super responsive 👍🏼
Hey Chen Yun, sadly some cars are like that. I’m not sure exactly why, it could be down to the shape of the door with the electrics inside with the glass going in. Or it could be something to do with safety for kids in the rear or something.
Hi Kevin, really sorry you’ll have to ask someone who works at Mercedes 🤓 I’m sure they can, dealers will be able to let you know what the latest map version is and supply you with a card 🙏
Sadly you can’t do that on Mercedes Mercedes have opted on some cars to set it to the profile when you get in (so you just tap on your name on the screen)
Ah really sorry this is one of those things that vary massively round the world. In the UK, all Mercedes with MBUX have Sat Nav as standard so I’ve never seen a car without and to be honest didn’t even know that was a thing till someone else asked the question on here. Not sure how it works in the USA, so best thing to do is get in touch with your local Mercedes dealership who should be able to point you in the right direction! 👍🏼
Thanks Nick, do you know how to turn the reversing sensing alarm when Im reversing my boat on the back of my 2021 GLC AMG 43, drives me nute... Ta mate
Me and my wife have just purchased and 24 plate eqc premium plus amg and I wondered about you saying you could upload a picture on my profile. On the Mercedes me app it only allows 1 registered user which my wife has create an account. Are profiles different
Ooo nice! Some models of Mercedes do support profile pictures, it’s primarily on models that have the 2nd generation or 3rd generation MBUX though. EQC has the first generation of MBUX 🤓 so it might not. But you can still create profiles though!
I’m wondering if you know with the new C Class 2022 300 if there is some kind of warning for flat battery in the remote. Mine just went flat & I couldn’t start the car. I managed to open it with the Mercedes’ me app. But couldn’t start it. It worked with the 2 nd remote. This is concerning as you don’t seem to have an alternative to start the car. The service guy said , they are still learning about it 🥴. He Couldn’t tell me if the remote wirelessly charges. Cheers
Sadly it won’t wirelessly charge as the battery itself isn’t rechargeable. But they are easy to change, they just need a CR 2032 3 V cell battery. In the moment though with a flat battery in the key, if you place it in the middle where your cup holders are, there’s a spot labelled next to them where the receiver for the key is located. Pop it here and the car should be able to see the key and you should be able to start 👍🏼
@@npoleary yes it was telling me to place it somewhere. I must of had it in slightly wrong spot. Just went out & tried it again. Still didn’t work. I remember seeing a RUclips about deactivating the remote. Maybe I have accidentally done this💁. I am not happy about not being able to start car with the key. I probably would not have bought it , if I realised that.
From the camera angle it did look like I did but there was still a few cm. Should have had it slightly forward further! Lots of safety systems of cars are there to protect the occupants and of course pedestrians. Some models of Mercedes have a thing called Manoeuvring Assistance which can slam the brakes on in the event of small mishaps like this but not all do have it.
@@npoleary thx for your reply Nick, love your videos btw. But at nighttime no matter what way you turn the light switch the low beam stays on. My question is there any other way possible. It’s the new model cla.
Hey Jake, if your car has the capability to do it, then it’ll show in the app. Sadly not all cars came out with this feature. It primarily just cars over the past couple of years or so and mainly with MBUX.
The newest GLC came out in 2023: ruclips.net/video/KubtRZEVNn4/видео.html So if it has a screen like this then it will Any model before that sadly probably not
What completely off? It’s normal in Mercedes for them to stagger down (so max, medium, low) over a set time. 40 minutes does seem quite long, just wondering if the element gets too hot on max or something? Have you spoken with your local Mercedes?
On what like distance / walking away from the car and it auto locks? Surprisingly quite a few cars I’ve tested don’t have that, some do but it’s just each manufacturers way of implementing tech I guess.
If the touchpad is on the right side for you, it may actually help you with keeping an eye on the road, since you can write blindly. I'm right handed and have a car with the steeringwheel on the left, so the touchpad is for me also on the right side. If the touchpad was on the left, it was a bit harder for me. But not for left handed people ofcourse.
@@robertshawiv1513 oh there are some streetnames that are hard to pronounce or have roman numbers in it. Or idk, you eat something (bubble gum?). Or you have a cold and speaking is a bit harder.
@@patrick71994 Sounds like a waste of technology that could be used for something more constructive, but hey, that’s just my opinion. I appreciate your input though. 👍🏻
@@robertshawiv1513 yeah I don’t use it very often either. But it is nice to have a choice. Maybe someone at Mercedes bad this as a little side project for themselves because it was cool or something. It is cool… but I agree that it is not very helpful most of the time.
I’ve heard from the comments section it’s not found on all Mercedes worldwide as it can vary If you have it for cars newer than 2016 it’ll be under something like Home Settings Vehicle For cars older than 2016 it’ll be adjusted via the steering wheel, use the left and right buttons to go to Settings, Vehicle. In both scenarios it’s always called Acoustic Lock
@@npoleary yes i do that only, but anyways thanx alot for ur reply, i really like ur videos and i learn alot here in dubai, to my most friends i teach them😻
Hey Luis, thank you! I don’t know about pro 😅 but thanks! Sadly it’s enabled on all cars, I’ve not found a way to turn it off permanently. I think it’s due to emission regulations.
Sorry I wouldn’t know how to do that 😅 It’s either choose the option at factory when the car is made or add it later via their store. The positive from this is that it can be added, I do remember a time years ago, if a car didn’t have it for example, that was it, you were stuck with it. At least things like this can be added now 👍🏼 Just bear in mind if you do purchase Apple CarPlay it may lead to a cropped experience on the screen. Let me know what model you have and what year and I can let you know what I mean.

Hi Nick, I would like to now, how switch on the lights on the reverse mirrors, my Mercedes model is E220 AMG line station, 9/2017! Thanks!!!
@@npoleary thanks Nick
No worries! 🤓
Nick
In the navigation screen I see doted lines and other items that I have no clue what they are.
Great tutorial again. How do I enable anti-thef sound on the glc 300 please?
Hey Jagjit, thank you!
As long as you have an alarm on your car then it should automatically set when you lock.
All cars in the UK have an alarm which primes when you lock after about 60 seconds.
Or was it the Acoustic Lock when you lock to get a toot from the horn?
@@npoleary yeah get the acoustic sound when I lock the glc300.
Ah that’s called Acoustic Lock 🤓
Deleting on when your GLC was made and what year it is,
For COMAND, it’s on the steering wheel. Press Home, Settings and then it’s in I think Vehicle and it’s called Acoustic Lock.
For MBUX, on your centre screen, press Home, Settings and then vehicle and it’ll be in there.
@@npoleary its a 2019 model coupe
Ah 2019 is when it switched over to MBUX & had a facelift. I’ve also heard from comments on RUclips that it’s not available everywhere round the world (sorry hard to tell where everyone’s from on here 🤓) but if you’re based in the UK it’ll be in one of those places on the previous comment 👍🏼
MB UI engineers probably never touched their electronic devices' settings, probably send them to ITs when encounter problems since little.
On iOS or a Nokia 3310, audio settings are right under settings.
hey man,can you do a video on the 2015 COMAND software?
Got you covered!

Vídeo muito útil. Duvido que os donos de Mercedes soubessem destas dicss que ajudam imenso.
Obrigada! Que bom que gostou do vídeo! 🤓
Regards,
Ravi
Ah I have a video on the instrument cluster here: ruclips.net/video/wRlJ8DEri8o/видео.html
Basically you just use the touchpads on the steering wheel closest to the driver’s door 🤓
Thank You.
Robert
Hey R Alexander,
Quite a common question this one, I’ve covered it before on my Most Asked Questions: ruclips.net/video/tu_Aktw93v4/видео.html
Sadly no as there’s nothing you can do on there.
I saw that high end versions of GLC 2023 have Acoustic lock, but for me is missing, what can I do to have it in menu?thanks!
This varies round the world from what I’ve heard on RUclips so it may not be available. Best to chat with Mercedes on that one and they can confirm if your car should have it.
Do you know if it’s possible to change the direction of the trackpad? I’m not a fan of sliding my finger one way and the apps moving the opposite way.
I don’t remember seeing a setting in system settings to reverse the direction of the touchpad sadly
Good idea though! 🤓
Do you recommend the CLA 250 4MATIC 2021 as a First MB?
I had an A250 for my first Mercedes 🤫
Haha
I miss it to the this day, however sadly it wasn’t 4MATIC
But in terms of recommending it’s all down to what is right for you. Hard to tell in comments on RUclips but think of insurance costs and running costs as it is a 2.0 L engine.
The car itself though is amazing, super responsive 👍🏼
Probably a long shot, but the rear passenger windows don't go all the way down on the b250e. Don't suppose there is a way to override that?
Hey Chen Yun, sadly some cars are like that. I’m not sure exactly why, it could be down to the shape of the door with the electrics inside with the glass going in. Or it could be something to do with safety for kids in the rear or something.
Hi Nick can you tell me if I can get an updated navigation SD card for my 2017 C220 the map is just up to 2016 can one be got thanks Kevin
Hi Kevin, really sorry you’ll have to ask someone who works at Mercedes 🤓
I’m sure they can, dealers will be able to let you know what the latest map version is and supply you with a card 🙏
My car is 2014 300E how can I but my picture on the screen?
Thank you so much
Hey Mohammed sadly it’s just cars with a multimedia system called MBUX. It started to come out in 2018/2019 onwards
Show pls how to set your each key with seat position
Sadly you can’t do that on Mercedes
Mercedes have opted on some cars to set it to the profile when you get in (so you just tap on your name on the screen)
We purchased a used 2020 GLC 300 and there is no Navigation. Do we need to purchase it and if so how? Also, AirPlay seems to work not so often.
Where abouts are you based A. Madrigal? Sorry hard to tell in the comments 🤓
@@npoleary Southern California in USA
Ta mate
If you go to Settings and then Quick Access, you can toggle parking sensors off there 🤓

Nick can you tell me why I don't have the vehicle information in menu????
Vehicle Information Menu? Which model and year do you have?
Me and my wife have just purchased and 24 plate eqc premium plus amg and I wondered about you saying you could upload a picture on my profile. On the Mercedes me app it only allows 1 registered user which my wife has create an account. Are profiles different
Ooo nice!
Some models of Mercedes do support profile pictures, it’s primarily on models that have the 2nd generation or 3rd generation MBUX though. EQC has the first generation of MBUX 🤓 so it might not. But you can still create profiles though!
just want to ask. How to turn on the defrost on side mirrors or heater .
Heated rear window switch 👍🏼
The side mirrors work together with the rear one 🤓
@@npoleary thanks😄
Yeah I have a photo of the exact placement 🤓
share.icloud.com/photos/034TDjBFdmGCZC8uIeBLsGsgw
It does work in this position 🤓
Hi Nick, RE: warn early. I don’t have “camera and parking” in my assistance menu. I have an 2020 A250E AMG
Specs can vary from car to car (equipment chosen etc)
If you have parking sensors then there might be similar menu to access the settings for them
Are there troubles with mercedesme and connection to the car?
Not that I know of? It can be due to network infrastructure too. What’s happening?
Nick my Merc navigation voice is off is there a way turn it on ??
Hey Satish, which model of Mercedes do you have and what year?
@@npoleary thanks Nick !! it’s a GLE 450 2022 model
Ah on the Navigation screen, on the menu button at the bottom, 3rd button along is how you mute and unmute 🤓
@@npoleary thanks 🙏 Nick
Why didn’t the car stop itself not allowing it to hit the cones? Thank you for the answer
Wish you could come explain mine
How can i have my outside lights off ,for example at a drive in movie need car running but need lights off 2020 cla?
If the engine is on, flick your lights to the parking lights (left or right side) 🤓
@@npoleary thx for your reply Nick, love your videos btw. But at nighttime no matter what way you turn the light switch the low beam stays on. My question is there any other way possible. It’s the new model cla.
Hey Alan, where abouts are you based? In the UK, if you turn the light switch to the left parking light or right parking light, it’ll turn them off
@@npoleary That doesn’t do it either lol. But maybe cos I’m in Canada. I’m gona check with my dealer next week when getting service done.
Has anyone found a way of opening/closing windows/sunroof with the Mercedes Me app?
Hey Jake, if your car has the capability to do it, then it’ll show in the app. Sadly not all cars came out with this feature.
It primarily just cars over the past couple of years or so and mainly with MBUX.
Does the profile picture not work for a 2021 glc300? 😭
On the car? I’m sure that came out on the newest release of GLC a few years after that. It definitely works on the one with the portrait screen 👍🏼
@@npolearyfor some odd reason, it doesn’t work on mines 😢
The newest GLC came out in 2023: ruclips.net/video/KubtRZEVNn4/видео.html
So if it has a screen like this then it will
Any model before that sadly probably not
Im having an issue with my heated seats going off after 40mins & not coming back on
What completely off? It’s normal in Mercedes for them to stagger down (so max, medium, low) over a set time.
40 minutes does seem quite long, just wondering if the element gets too hot on max or something? Have you spoken with your local Mercedes?
@@npoleary yeah completely off after 40mins and dont come back on.. no i still need too. 👍
How do you cancel route guidance??
On what model of car? 🤓
@@npoleary 2020 CLA.

@@npoleary Thanks!
how does it not have proximity locks ?? pretty much all cars do
On what like distance / walking away from the car and it auto locks?
Surprisingly quite a few cars I’ve tested don’t have that, some do but it’s just each manufacturers way of implementing tech I guess.
7:03 What’s the purpose of this feature? Looks like a risk factor while driving to me. Am I missing something?
If the touchpad is on the right side for you, it may actually help you with keeping an eye on the road, since you can write blindly. I'm right handed and have a car with the steeringwheel on the left, so the touchpad is for me also on the right side. If the touchpad was on the left, it was a bit harder for me. But not for left handed people ofcourse.
@@patrick71994 What does the handwriting option do that can’t be done by voice command?
I did not find acoustic lock in the setting of my Mercedes e class
I’ve heard from the comments section it’s not found on all Mercedes worldwide as it can vary
If you have it for cars newer than 2016 it’ll be under something like
Home
Settings
Vehicle
For cars older than 2016 it’ll be adjusted via the steering wheel, use the left and right buttons to go to Settings, Vehicle.
In both scenarios it’s always called Acoustic Lock
👍❤️

👍👍👍👍
I'd like to know how to disable "auto start/stop" permanently from a pro such as yourself.
Hey Luis, thank you! I don’t know about pro 😅 but thanks!
Sadly it’s enabled on all cars, I’ve not found a way to turn it off permanently. I think it’s due to emission regulations.
why are the sat navs so inaccurate ? unusable
Show us how to get AirPlay without having to pay 400€ in a 80.000 bucks car lel
Sorry I wouldn’t know how to do that 😅
It’s either choose the option at factory when the car is made or add it later via their store.
The positive from this is that it can be added, I do remember a time years ago, if a car didn’t have it for example, that was it, you were stuck with it.
At least things like this can be added now 👍🏼
Just bear in mind if you do purchase Apple CarPlay it may lead to a cropped experience on the screen. Let me know what model you have and what year and I can let you know what I mean.
What is all this , ‘ What’s up guys ‘ about ? , have we gone all American all of a sudden ?
This tablet like dashboard is so ugly and lack personality. OEMs needs to move away from this concept urgently
What’s your favourite kind of style interior? One with a widescreen or something across the dashboard? Or like one built in? 🤓
Not so much 'HACKS' as 'explaining standard functions. HACK would be something that is not clearly documented, for example soft reset of MBUX.
None of these are secrets.
