Thanks for watching everyone! Another orchard update this weekend/ early next week . I have also created a Patreon page for those interested in getting fruit seeds and plants off me. I'll be giving away a lot (jackfruit, abiu, jaboticaba) + selling the limited stock from the orchard as it matures. Cheers for the incredible support , A patreon.com/b2bhomesteading
Your three-year journey towards self-sufficiency is incredibly inspiring and admirable. Your dedication and hard work are evident in every step towards achieving this goal. It's clear that your commitment to sustainability and independence is making a meaningful impact on your life and community. And I am a floating village life from Vietnam.
Slingshot and a bag full of grapes. Every time the Cassowary has a crack at the crops they cop a grape to the head. It's a fun game for everyone! 😂 the bird will eventually decide to eat elsewhere, and you'll have half a bag of grapes for arvo tea
Homestead vids as addictive as the fishing adventures!! Plz post more when you can! We love ya in Canada and miss you (& the family) when you haven’t posted! ❤️🇨🇦
In terms of feeding multiple animals, we always cut a length, or a few, or storm drain pipe (lengthways) in half. It gives you a nice long trough type set up and keeps the animals from eating directly off the ground, minimising consumption of worms. Really enjoying watching your homestead grow and will drop into the Cafe when we next head North from CQ. All the best ✌️
A good deterent for insects is to startr putting nest boxes for insect eating birds like swalows and sparrows etc around the property so it builds a flock. These eat tons of bugs and insects which will help dramatically
I have Peking ducks & it's like an Easter egg hunt every day. 😅 They find the most ingenious spots to drop an egg. If left alone, eventually they will round them up into a nest. Currently have a queen sitting on 14 eggs.
Having watched a couple of your videos and being in the area recently, I dropped into the pocket cafe for breakfast. The food, service and coffee was excellent and it's a very unique cafe. It's also like an art gallery/museum. Well worth stopping in😁
So pleased to see you guys doing so well. I really love your updates. Quark is a gorgeous addition to the family. I look forward to seeing your next vid.
Quark is amazing. Definitely a special duck the only one to survive. Wow bro your yard has come a long way from the last time I seen a video. I would love this I live in a concrete jungle absolutely nothing hear. Thanks for the up load bro
Azz that was inspriational tour, up in FNQ you got growers of your tropical exotics that just let the tree grow so tall and it becomes a cherry picker task and fruit bat haven. i like what your doing keeping the trees manageable height and at a size that keeps them secure and selling your produce at the pocket. Definitely I got your location in my maps for next time I'm up in FNQ cheers.
Great to see you AZ. You are a legend on sea and land. The Pocket looks amazing as does the animals and botanicals. Best of luck reaching your goal in the future.
To keep bats off or birds off fruit trees there is a Bird Barrier Netting Mesh with zippers that can be used to cover your fruit trees, does help keep them off.
Make a mixture of 1 Cup of white vinegar to 2 cups of water add banana straps into a small jug stir vigorously, then hang the jug in your fruit trees. Will help keep warms and nasty bugs away. Hope this helps😊
You are able to grow so many great varieties of fruit there. We cant grow the tropical stuff here near Goulburn but we can grow the classics like apples pear oranges etc and a few more less classic fruits like pomegranate and crab apple.
In Thailand, they get those banana flowers n fry them up with pork to bring in the milk for breast feeding mothers who ain’t flowin so good. True story. My midwife told me so-here in NZ
Wow ! I like you place ! I'm mad about the size of your Abiu... I'm living in French Guyana end here it's a kind of endemic species but mine are so little... I'm gonna try to feed the more to see if it change the size... Congratulation for your work ! by
Hey mate great to see you are doing well on the farm. Grandma use to make a bug repellent from chillies, garlic and soap the soap was a wetting agent. I used it few times on my veggies worked a treat 👍
I’m in the same region, just harvesting my first bananas now but have 3 varieties on the go. Would love a rundown on varieties and growing/harvesting tips
Diatomaceous earth for insects. You can get food grade and then non-food grade which is better. Also, apple cider vinegar can sometimes work on certain insects by attracting other insects that yet other insects like to eat and they wind up eating the other bugs. Some though actually deter bugs. I think.
Lookin’ lush, Az!! Just wondering what you use to kill off the unwanted grasses/weeds? I’m on a few acres and am finding the organic stuff a bit costly to use so often.
Hey Az, not completely sure but the lemon grass looks to me like citronella grass.. Might be coming by next week I'll drop some lemon grass in if you want? Keep up the great work, everything is looking amazing. Also about the bugs.. chilli spray. Gete the hottest chilli boil strain and spray. Cheers
I absolutely love this idea! I really wish I could visit but I'm too far away. Also wondering if you have any recommendations for tropical fruiting plants that would do well in South East QLD?
Love following you guys but I’m nervous you’ve planted everything so close to each other which ok now when they are young but may become an issue as they get bigger. Am sure you thought all that.

Love these vids mate - now what kind of sunnies are those and where can I get some!?
The same my country.

I’m in the same region, just harvesting my first bananas now but have 3 varieties on the go. Would love a rundown on varieties and growing/harvesting tips
Hi, I live FNQ too and was wondering where you got your grafted durian from? Was it a local nursery? Thanks

Ducks are the best, even down here in a suburban block.
Awesome bro

Thanks mate! tried a few. Firepower and basta have been good as necessary evils when the organic doesnt do the job
I love the gardening vids. But you have to be cautious with the machete. You nearly hit the duck at 13:12 ❤😢

Great tips, thanks mate! Smells like lemon grass. I think is, just on steroids haha or just the perfect conditions

Maybe brother, anyway I think from memory you have both. Still coming down I think Saturday.
Partners birthday.
Copper for the bugs, and a gel blaster for the big chooks.
Legend! Thank you
sorry the copper is to help flowers set, worm castings sprayed on the foliage will help stop insects. Good luck. Love your videos 👍🏽
Quark.......Someones a Deep Space Nine fan 💖
