Fellow enthusiast, perhaps you can tell me something. It's been so long since I played this game, so I can hardly remember the tower's name, but it was the tower with the badass demogorgon in the basement. Somewhere in that tower was a complex machine that had a madman (who hadn't slept in years) beside it. I tried for hours to learn the machine's secrets, but in the end I gave up and moved on.
      What was that machine's secret?

Sendai Battle or Bhaalspawn Battle or The Five as I saw many names, is THE most chilling song in Baldur's Gate. It especially fits ToB expansions, where battles are mostly played on pause, because so much shit is happening, and either you or enemy have to die in seconds (at insane difficulty at least). I had the most epic battles with Draconis and Abazigal with that song playing from mp3. That was amazing. Mages casting dem spells, priests casting dem buffs and warriors being dem pretty useless on bosses until they actually score a hit. What a times

By the end of the 20th century, RPG video games were on the verge of oblivion. Although the genre had its roots in the 1970s and 1980s, with the advent of new technologies and other forms of entertainment, they began to lose popularity. However, thanks to two legendary titles - Diablo and Baldur's Gate - the genre was resurrected and underwent a revival of sorts.
Back then, gamers were fascinated by the new experiences that video games offered. RPGs were one of the most creative and expansive genres, but they lacked something that would make them popular again. That's when Diablo and Baldur's Gate entered the scene and changed everything.
Diablo, developed by Blizzard Entertainment, was an action game with RPG elements set in a dark, demonically shrouded world. The player could take on the role of one of several heroes, set out on a quest to defeat the sinister Diablo and face hordes of enemies. The game offered both a single-player mode and multiplayer gameplay over the Internet. Diablo was a true revolution, combining thrilling action, an elaborate storyline and the ability to explore worlds together with other players. It was this mix that made the game extremely addictive and innovative.
The same was true of Baldur's Gate, which was a game based on the well-known Dungeon & Dragons license. Developed by BioWare studio, the game took players to the fantastic world of Forgotten Realms. As members of a group of adventurers, players could embark on dangerous missions, meet many characters and solve challenging puzzles. Baldur's Gate offered an elaborate narrative, complex quests and freedom of choice, making each game unique. The game was extremely advanced in terms of mechanics and introduced innovative solutions, such as full freedom of interaction with the environment and conversations with NPCs.
Diablo and Baldur's Gate were not only excellent games, but also an inspiration for other developers. Their huge success opened the door for the return of RPG video games to the scene. They were followed by other titles that continued the tradition, transforming the genre into something even bigger and more versatile.
The decline and resurgence of RPG video games at the end of the 20th century provided a real lesson for the gaming industry. They showed that ingenuity, innovation and loyalty to fans can bring great success. With Diablo and Baldur's Gate, RPG video games regained their popularity and became the foundation for other outstanding productions. Today we can enjoy the richness of the world of RPGs, which continue to innovate, develop and provide us with unforgettable adventures.
