This no longer works, as I keep getting the "Shell is Busy, Another device is accessing Shell, Disconnect the device and try again" message every time I try and do this. Very disappointing.

When I selected all the correct boxes in the Debloat toolbox I keep receiving a message that the shell is busy. There is a box for me to click on that sends me to ADB bugging which tells me to turn it off and then on again and I just go round and round. Is there something else I need to do? Thank you so much. Totally agree, it is a great addition, but not everyone likes it, I don't have prime video so, I just removed that on mine!
I wish I could get it , I live in Spain and get content from behind a VPN and freevee just fails to open.
@@antoniocrawley I think your stick must be registered in the UK and also the VPN must be active before the stick has booted to stop Amazon detecting you are outside the UK.
@@cwtek1 yes, that makes sense I brought it here 3 years ago and indeed it is registered in UK , I thought the VPN would get around it as I have it set to 'Manchester'
Hi Chris, I have a 2nd gen 4k Max. I downloaded you debloat tool but can't find anything that has Imdb or freevee in the line. Any advice?
Unfortunately it doesn’t work with the 2nd Gen 4ks.

How would we know what else your program might do on our system?
It’s not my program but it is from a trusted source made by a developer that has been around for a while. So you will just have to put your trust in it like thousands of other have, if you want to install it.
It’s a start, wish I could get rid of apps I don’t use and don’t want, must be a way somehow so you could customise your own app build on the stick

@@Joy3LastNames There are other things the app can get rid of, but I haven't tested these myself, so I am not sure if removing them could cause issues further down the line!

Hi Chris, I followed this once before with great results. However, my firestick did an update and put everything back on. Today I've followed your video and at the point where the play button is highlighted and pressed the ticks are removed from boxes 3, 4 and 5. Pressing the play button receives the message please wait, and then nothing. I don't use Prime Video, Music or freevee etc and would like to free up some space for the apps I do use. Any advice please?
Perhaps try restarting your stick by holding down play/pause and middle button until you see the message your device is powering off and try again.
Can I remove other apps built into the fire stick like Amazon kids live shopping, photos,music and files ?
Music you can remove from Manage installed applications, the others you should be able to remove but not tried it myself so not sure of any side effects.
Great video. I am using the 1st Gen Firestick 4K and want to use Prime Video from someone else’s Prime account so I’m wondering if I can use your steps to Remove Prime Video then side load Prime Video and attempt to log into the other persons Prime account? I could remove firestick from my Amazon acct and then start all over using the Prime Account we are sharing but with all the apps I already have setup it would be a hassle. Do you think I can delete Prime Video using your steps and then side load Prime Video and login with someone else’s Amazon account username/password?
I am not sure it will let you do this as the Firestick version will just pick up your login details from the stick itself, you could see if you can find an Android Tv version of the app.
Does this only work outside the US? Followed instructions freevee still in the way. Found issue one of the needed of the check boxes for IMDB was in a higher spot on this list and I missed it.
I am not sure myself if this works inside the US as I am in the UK, but has anyone else had problems removing freezer inside the US?

Just bought the new 4K Max 2nd gen. Followed your instructions and the boxes are not listed anymore so unable to remove freevee, prime or Amazon kids. Please advise.
Unfortunately this guide and app was made for earlier versions of the firesticks, hopefully the developer will update soon.
I have bought the latest Firstick the one with 16gb storage, when i followed your instructions to remove Freevee and Prime Video as before non of them are listed on your app
Because these new sticks are running fireos 8 I don't think this will work on the newer sticks at the moment.

I have the 2nd generation firestick and see "can't parse the package. " I have the most current update installed. What can I do to install debloat toolbox?
This will only work if you have Fireos 6 and 7 im afraid, if you have a 2nd Generation your fireos will be 5, so it may be time to get a new updated stick!

I just recently got the newest version 2nd Gen 4K stick (I still have my 1st gen 4K)
And a 1st FireStick they released.
I tried pairing my 1st Gen 4K remote along with the new one that came with the New FireStick 4K.
It goes into Pairing Mode, Tells me to press the Select button
I do and It won’t let me Pair the older 4K remote to have on it as well.
It says ready to Pair, and My Older 4k remote starts flashing a kinda yellowish type color
But never pairs!
It Let me Pair my PS4 controller No issues.
My 1st Gen 4K I had a old remote paired , The one That came with it, and a PS4 remote all on the 1st 4K.
Any ideas?
Also, I’ve noticed on the new 4K stick it’s not showing the OFFLOAD Apps , like it did on older 4K stick.

Did you press the play button in the top right corner of the screen or the play button on the remote, if it was the remote you need to navigate to the play button in the top right of the screen.
When I click on the play on the right corner that not view the usb debugging why ? Can you help ?

The problem freevee keeps coming back how do you stop it from re installing it's self all the time. Need to disable updates I guess...
Unfortunately many have reported it seems to come back from time to time not sure how to block it but turning off updates would be a good start!

Didn't work. At the point of pressing the "play" button after selecting the apps to uninstall (7:45) I get a message that says "Shell is Busy. Another device is accessing Shell, disconnect the device and try again. Toggle Debugging OFF and then ON." So I toggle off and an but just repeats the same cycle.
Chris, I've uninstalled and reinstalled debloat toolbox, turned off and on ADB debugging. Toggled off and on. Also turned on apps from unknown sources and I still get this message "Shell is Busy" "Another device is accessing Shell" "Disconnect the device and try again". Interesting thing happened after I deleted freevee ! The app still showed on the screen but when I hit it suddenly it disappeared
Yes the Amazon Video app does stay on screen but wont open if you try to open it!
It keeps telling me the shell is in use and to toggle the debugging. Toggle it, select the apps to delete again, and it tells me to toggle debugging again. Nothing will delete

My device has frozen and now just the firetv logo appears during boot up, please advise.
There is a large number of devices doing this at present we think this is due to updates pushed out by Amazon. Please see this video for more details

After I rebooted I noticed space was freed up.

You will need to factory reset your stick and set it up from scratch!

See if you can find it in the list shown in this video and if you can find it try and remove it the same way.

I get a Parse Error when I try to download your app
Please try restarting your fire stick by holding down the middle button on your remote control whilst also holding the play pause button and tell it says the device is shutting down. Let the device restart and then try installing again.
Well, here's a new twist, Freevee is back. When I check debloater, I don't see IMDB but I do see living room. So I selected it and hit play/execute in debloater. But it says, "no task to run". Then says, "please wait", then nothing and living room is still there. I'll try to reboot the Firestick just in case
I am sorry to hear that, unfortunately an update may have temporarily stopped this tool from working!
Is your ADB debugging still active ? As Amazon have removed it on an update maybe this is why

I deleted it. Tried getting in couldn’t it was gone... But the next day it was back installed I’m confused.. same with Amazon kids…
Sometimes an update will reinstall it!
Did not work for the same reason I couldn't remove the AMAZON KIDS. Someone else has the same problem with the ADB bugging.

I’ve got debater app on firestick but when I try to use it I get message saying shell is busy and toggle off and on adb debugging . Also after I’ve downloaded debater app it doesn’t show in my fire tv section at all . I’ve restarted firestick but still doesn’t work ? Any suggestion?

I think you will need to make sure you do not have a VPN switched on, make sure you are in a country that Freevee is officially available, if its still not working then try clearing the cache and data for freevee by going to settings, applications then manage installed applications then find freevee in the list. If it still doesn't work then the next thing to try is to factory reset your firestick!

Why on earth would I want to get rid of two great free streaming apps?
They may not be everyone's cup of tea a friend of mine has Freevee on their stick but it always tells them its not available when they try to go into it, so they ended up removing it, also Prime Video is not free unless you have Amazon Prime!

Did it work without the usb debugging, if not then make sure you restart your device and make sure USB debugging is switched on.
