Epic. I also use ocean modifier to fake fluid, but with solidify and intersect boolean modifiers. Haven't tried it with Suzanne, but letters work very well.
It looks pretty good. There are moments where it is clearly not an actual volume because the amount changes inside the enclosed object depending on the tip angle but it is sufficiently shiny and moving like water that it works for many basic situations.
thank you for the tutorial ^^ just what I needed, for the weird ''lip'' problem, i think i found a solution after spending a whole day playing with it hhh, anyways try to add another shrinkwrap modifier to the liquid ( it must be under the fist shrinkwrap modifier that you created ), set the warp method to the nearest surface point and the snap mode to inside, select the glass ( the object that's holding the liquid ) as a target, oh if that didn't fix it try playing the axis on the first shrinkwrap M ( the one you selected the ocean as a target ) try to select 2 axis, for example, Y and Z, that seems to fix it for me :D I tried using boolean to fix this but blender just crashes when you have a lot of objects
I saw the time on the video was short and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to follow along (relatively new to blender). But, surprisingly, if I just replay the video and take my time with this, this is more than easy enough to do. Thank you for this! Please post more tutorials in the future (and maybe even some longer ones?)
nice tuto, but i would like to know something, that big empty that rotate the bottle, how that empty is parented to the bottle, as i said i just saw you selected the empty and then you rotated the empty and the bottle rotated too
Great tutorial, thanks! I still have the problem with the "lip", even on a very simple geometry (cube with narrowed base). Did you manage to find any fix for that?
Awesome effect, reminds me of the Half Life Alyx bottle shaders. Also, the option at 1:03 is pronounced "project" as in "projection", because its projecting onto the object.
Yeah I have a Ferrero Rocher project with chocolate being poured overtop, want to make a tutorial for it just haven't gotten around to it yet, should be soon!
yeah that's the only downside, you could try and fake it by adding some keyframes to the ocean or maybe lowering down the spatial size of the ocean so the waves don't go up and down so much (might lose a bit of quality though not 100% sure)
WONDERFUL TUTORIAL! But you didn't teach how to put it inside the container and give the RENDER by Cycles. When I did that, the Ocean appeared completely and didn't stay inside the Glass. Could you teach me how to do this please? Thank you very much You've already won a written! If you have a course you're selling, just tell me and I'll buy it =)
I HAVE THE SOLUTION for deformation Give the liquid pane some depth and Try boolean modifier on Suzan set as fast and link plane with it then hide the plane. it will fix the deformation on Suzan
There are different ways to hide objects. By clicking the eye icon in your outliner you will hide objects in your viewport. In order to hide objects in a rendering you have to click the camera icon right next to the eye.
That is Insane man. I had an idea of doing it but didn't knew which modifiers to use. So Great work
I just got really excited for you zooming in. found some great tutorials and your the first to zoom in to make it easier to see thank you for that.
quick and straight to the point. thank you for not making this a 20 minute tutorial 😂
What’s the least intensive file format for a game engine. I don’t think this would work as an fbx unless it uses blend shapes
OMG YES. THANK U FOR THIS. I NEEDED TO MAKE A CHARACTER THAT HAS A JAR OF PICKLES FOR A HEAD. YES.
Bro woke up and decided to record greatness! thanks G
Holy this is nice, you can even bake the animations for use in game engines
Yah, but you also need high poly mesh for this which is not good for most games.😢
@@anzaklaynimation bake it and decimate

I did this as well, its a lot slower though
This is by far one of the cleverest way to simulate fluid 😍
EYO this is one of those golden tuts you find once a rare moon
Now that's a tutorial done perfectly, and what an amazing trick to learn😊
BRO! u are so unrated! amazing tuts!! need more stuff like these!!
EXACTLY what I wanted! Thank you very much for this concise tutorial 👍
my man did in 3 minutes what I've been doing for 4 hours with fluid simulation 😂 Great tutorial thank you :))
Haha glad it helped!
This was actually quite inspiring. Subscribed! Thanks!
It looks pretty good.
There are moments where it is clearly not an actual volume because the amount changes inside the enclosed object depending on the tip angle but it is sufficiently shiny and moving like water that it works for many basic situations.
That is impressive idea, good job. I really need some alternatives way that not takes much performance
That's actually some really impressive out of the box thinking, great job!
Wow Thanks man! Never would even thought to do it this way

Dude, it is just awesome! Mindblowing, so simple. Thank you a lot!
The best video about this! is really amazing! i can't thank you enough :)
Relatively simple and brilliant!
amazing I keep going back to it
really cool alternative to liquid simulation. very cool
Thanks for this really helpful tutorial
This is beyond fantastic!!
man i have never used blender but this looked interesting so here is my view
you are a angel bro, in brazil i will say like "muito brabo, pai"
Thank you this is what I needed
If you're a noob like me and want a tip, start with a sphere first. It's super simple with minimal modifications needed.
nice tuto, but i would like to know something, that big empty that rotate the bottle, how that empty is parented to the bottle, as i said i just saw you selected the empty and then you rotated the empty and the bottle rotated too
One day I will be great animator and the 🌎 will remember me 😤 great tutorial I'm still learning ❤
finaaaally what i need, very simple
thank you! exactly what i was looking for.
Thanks man exactly what i was looking for
its freaking genius good job
Me doing a boolean modifier the whole time.... 🤡
Thanks, that's a great technique, and it should help with render times too.
😂 oh yeah this is a huge difference from Boolean with render times
@@cheuqs Yeah, my PC was suffering with 5 FPS
thank you useful video but why didn't you complete until you get the finale result , mean the cube with blue liquid?.
Super beautiful 😍😍
Great tutorial 🎉
Thank you!
Great tutorial, thanks! I still have the problem with the "lip", even on a very simple geometry (cube with narrowed base). Did you manage to find any fix for that?
Awesome tutorial...!!❤🙏
Reminds me of HL:Alyx's bottles. Nice work
Subbed! this channel is gold!
Thank you man! It’s simple and useful! I’ll tag you on IG on my project with this technique ✨
I'm amazed by what you've done. How can I import this into the unity game engine?
Very nice tutorial. Btw, the wrap method you use is Project (verb) not Project (noun). Just thought I should mention it.
Realy nice idea, thank you!
Genius. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much. Really helpful.
Hey thanks man thats awesome
excellent tutorial!
1:18 if you are having issues here, leave BOTH negative and positive checked.
So good! love your channel :)
this is really helpfull and time saving. Thanks
I'd use "Crease" instead of extra loop cuts.
this is fucking nuts. well done, you've saved me a lot of money in a tight space
Awesome effect, reminds me of the Half Life Alyx bottle shaders. Also, the option at 1:03 is pronounced "project" as in "projection", because its projecting onto the object.
Very well explained. Your attention to detail is impressive 100%
how i would export this? because when i render this the ocean not s inside the object
soryy the english not is my first language
I cant get what you mean but try disabling the plane from rendering ( the camera icon near the eye icon )
Sick! Haha so cool. tnx for sharing.
really awesome tutorial
Easily gets a follow, watch his other videos guys we need more of this short easy honest content
Satisfying
its really cool man
genius
Super Awesome, Many Thanks!!!
Subscribed! Great stuff!
pretty useful, one last thing, is this eevee or cycles?
Did you make the water based on the shoe shape too?
Yeah, each shape is just duplicated then scaled down and used as the fluid
Nice, I followed the tutorial and it worked so well last night :D@@cheuqs
Hey, ive asked how to apply a wave or ocena mofidery to a sphere, can you try that? imma try and do it myself based on this
okay but now how you make the liquid actually stay in the object that contains it because it goes through it when I move it its all messy ty
About the side lips what if we only use vertex group for the top layer, so it won’t affect the lower vertices
This is Genius!
really smart
Amazing video fr! how to I bake it ? every time i bake it it freezes on a single frame
There is no fluid sim so no need to bake! but if you need to bring it into another program you could try Alembic or FBX format
@@cheuqs did that , thank you!
thank you mate
is it possible to make a character model out of fluids? especially in animations?
i dont know i set the exact number like yours but my wave is too strong, it up and down too much
nice. thx alot. do u know how to use liquids withoud the ocean so the liquid can be controlled by rotating the object?
I believe you could do that with textures and displacement but not 100% sure if any textures could give you a good water surface look
@@cheuqs ill keep on searching. theres alot of tutorials out there like yours, im thankful of.
can you do fake liquid slime animation that is pouring and moving on surface .. like a cream pouring on a biscuit?
Yeah I have a Ferrero Rocher project with chocolate being poured overtop, want to make a tutorial for it just haven't gotten around to it yet, should be soon!
@@cheuqs I will look forward to it :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD THANK YOU!!
Thanks man
anyone figured out how to prevent the waves from going up and down the object? end up with half of it disappearing
could explain about what are the material nodes used in this for liquid.
毫无疑问,天才
thanks
If I tilt the bottle too much, the liquid will escape the bottle. Is it possible to make the liquid move only inside the bottle?
Nothing happens with the shrink wrap modifier any solutions?
the animations not working i need help
I wonder if you could do this with a boolean modifier
there is the ocean plane is visible in render. what can ı do
very cool
That is genius
One problem: this method doesn't take into account preserve volume
yeah that's the only downside, you could try and fake it by adding some keyframes to the ocean or maybe lowering down the spatial size of the ocean so the waves don't go up and down so much (might lose a bit of quality though not 100% sure)

hi bro can use resolve that problem? i dont have idea and have the same one
Same here
I want to use this in a website, will spline allow me to import it in?
