- The government has announced funding of £2.6 billion for special educational needs and disabilities in schools. Aiming to result in 60,000 new places for SEND students.
Following Darek Drapers death in January of this year, Susanna Reid questions Education Secretary Gillian Keegan on the continual failings of the social care system, and asks what the government are doing to support carers.

We look after old people, it just needs more investment. We don't have the capacity in our culture for more to look after the aging population. Families are smaller too. Sadly in Asia, countries like Japan are struggling with an aging population too. It's not as black and white as that I'm afraid.
