The effortlessness is an illusion, which comes from the combination of supreme talent and very hard work, in the way that the finest artists (and sometimes the very best sportsmen, like Roger Federer) can manage to convey. But the beauty is unsurpassable.
The impressive Cecilia Bartoli! K217 Reworked aria from: Pasquale Anfossi Metilde ritrovata (dramma giocoso per musica : da rappresentarsi ne' Teatri privilegiati di Vienna 1773). This aria, dated October 26, 1775, was written by Mozart to be inserted in Le nozze di Dorinda, an opera buffa by Baldassare Galuppi. The opera was brought to Salzburg by an Italian traveling company, which, needing to provide a new aria for its prima donna, commissioned it from a local composer, Mozart. Written for the title character Dorinda, it is a beautiful aria that is at the same time comical and contemptuous. The libretto for the opera was by the great dramatist Carlo Goldoni, but it is unknown who adapted this aria text for Mozart.

Bartoli and Ameling are very different, not that one is superior to the other, besides Cecilia is more famous for sure..but her singing is highly technical,to perfection perhaps, Elly's singing, perhaps less technical speaks to my heart more, just as the renditions of Emma Kirkby.I grant you that no singer sings Vivaldi as Cecilia, but I doubt that they sung it with such perfection in red hair priest's time! No need for confusion.

There is no doubt about Cecilia's virtuosity ... Though I am sure if Mozart new that Cecilia would be singing his pieces I know he would write differently... Whilst I love both renditions of this piece I give preference to Elly Ameling's rendition .. The two renditions are very different .. just as the singers are..
As I see it (and I love both singers), Ameling is more "pure" in the sense of not infusing her singing with many variations in color and texture coming from the emotions of the song. Both are outstanding technicians, and Bartoli chooses to color her interpretation with emotions, which I personally like very much. A similar but by no means identical comparison might be Michael Schade vs. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
@@cecilbartoli3624 Michael Schade has perfected an utmost beauty in his singing. I have been astounded at his impeccable phrasing, purity of tone, and vocal beauty. Even so, I tire of this after a while and welcome the visceral, varied, story-telling style of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. His singing has depth in its unashamed portrayal of the story the song is telling. It has its own sort of beauty, but more importantly, his singing is captivating. It is evident that D F-D has thought deeply about his renditions, both musically and culturally. I do not think that Schade has more color than Fischer-Dieskau. In fact, I think that F-D has more color variation, whereas Schade has perfected a more limited scope of colors.

Wonerful performance, two geniuses both fantastic. Cecilia is enchanting as always......bellissimo
Astonishing performance. 👏👏👏
I thank you Mozart for adding soooo much more to my life......
Hopefully he hasn't finished with that - the more you look Mozart in the cards - the more complicated it gets.
To mine too. Can’t live without Mozart

Straordinaria interpretazione!
Brava...
Cuanta belleza!!
Cecilia Bartoli ha una padronanza della propria voce della tecnica che mette quasi paura per la sua bravura.

No aclaras donde está la diferencia entre ambas .
Well he did: The role of Susanna in "Nozze" was written at least 3 times - according to my knowledge - of that twice for Nancy Storace!
Can you be more specific about the performance differences and how different is Bartoli from Ameling, I am confused!
