Oh, my sweet summer child 😂
@Grey17Podcast I typed this comment while listening to Justin early in the episode, I'm just getting to listen to the BTR section now, and I'm pretty amused that we both chose the same reference to describe our feelings about his comment 🤣
lol.
Yeah, this “arc” is really the biggest fail of the show and comes across as petty.
Regarding the discussions of the real-world deaths of Stephen Furst and Andreas Katsulas, there are great Peter Jurasik videos on RUclips from conventions where he (1) reads a eulogy for Katsulas, and (2) has his last panel with Furst, where you can see the chemistry still working and they are having a lot of fun.
Wow the hinges got bombed from orbit this episode, it's impressive.
Parts of my anatomy swell when I see a new episode on my feed. Delightful x
May want to get that looked at.
@@Grey17Podcast I tried showing it to people but that just got my account banned
This is the best episode of the first half of season 5, by far. incredibly moving. I was going to leave a 5 star review, but after Scott's blasphemous remark about DS9 being better than B5, i will have to lower it to a 4 star
DS9 is better. :)
@@Grey17Podcast ds9 is brilliant but it falls short of B5, mainly because there's no *plan*. It's very clear on a rewatch that they were just writing episode by episode without any idea where they were going and even less of a clue how they were getting there. It doesn't become properly serialised TV until the back half of season 7.
@@Grey17Podcast I gave up after Odo and quark got marooned at lake Tahoe in season 5. Nothing happened during the overall storyline. Lost had better story through lines than DS9 did. DS9 was such a frustrating show compared to the praise that it gets.
@@mattlinfante The funny thing for me is that rewatching DS9 after BSG I could see some of the faults of the latter being present in the earlier show. A big one for me is how religion is treated in both shows, in that it just exists when you need a plot development. It never feels like it has a proper vitality. It also shows the signs of being put together bit by bit, the continuity is a mess (and what is hilarious is that virtually none of the episodes with O'Brien as a main character actually matter, or even get referred to later). Add that to the annoyingly vapid, twee emptiness of Roddenberry's world building it's a show that has diminished badly in rewatches
I saw b5 fully first, but like both shows for different reasons.
I really don’t know what was wrong with us this week….. I really don’t…..
'middling episode'???!!! What did you watch? It's one of the very best written and acted episodes in the entire frickin' series?
Kevin is... Kevin. :) ~Scott
I'm a Babylon 5 fan and I'm Twilight fan
Ok the ending pizza hut commercial was great. I had to listen twice to understand what the hell was going on. 😂😂😂
I didn't hate the first 10 minutes, but that's probably because I had no clue what you were talking about.
Surprised there was little discussion of Londo's attributes. Or maybe that was what the first 10 minutes was about?
We don’t know what the hell the first 10 minutes was about either.
Excellent discussion! Crazy how loopy it started. But the Londo discussion was excellent.
Kristi Noem even showed up in this eventually. What a world we're in.
Woohoo for sloppy sections!
As a former Mormon, Justin, yes....yes I do think that 😂
I really enjoyed this episode, can't wait till the surprise over Lennier. I could have gone longer without learning anything about "soaking" though. I mean... damn. Oh, and fuck Kristi Lynn Noem!
And I Like most things from every single Star Trek movie and TV series, that including Star Trek Voyager, and Discovery
Spoilers given-------My thoughts on Lennir and his character arc are this--i didn't like what he did, but I have no issue that it happened. Not all character growth is positive and I don't think it comes out of nowhere.
As he said himself, if you do the right thing for the wrong reasons, the work becomes impure and ultimately destructive...I'm paraphrasing here. That's exactly what happens to him.
I didn't like that it happened, but I think it works. The seeds are there.
To quote Gkar, no one here is exactly who they appear to be.
Sadly it does happen. Been in that situation myself
Please put spoiler tags
My apologies@@Grey17Podcast
Oh, hey! You guys suck for putting that damn PPG link up. As if I don't already have enough unnecessary expenditures. (Gonna get one soon.) :)
Lol
We aim to please!
I'm a Babylon 5 fan and a Twilight...eh liker, I'm not going to say I'm a fan. I was forced to watch it years ago and its not really that bad, since then i've watched them all a few times each. Imprinting by the way isn't sexual or attraction, its a phenomenon backed by scientific observation that animals will often imprint on the first animal they see. Its a bond of complete trust more than anything else. Twilight takes a few liberties with how it actually works, but what's new about movies and shows taking something and modifying it.
thanks all
All that talk about hotdogs, and no one wanted to discuss Londo's... appendages flopping out?
I'm disapointed.
I always seem to forget about this episode. I tend to miss it because of my complete dislike of early Season 5, but it isn’t a bad one.
