The fact she even had the balls to get up there with Metallica and do her thing, and she can sing like that! Blew my mind!
My man, Miley has some major vocal chords! And it’s PURE, straight SOUL! A few years back, maybe 6+ years, she did a series on RUclips called Happy Hippie where she did covers. Holy COW! She did a cover of Jolene that still gives me chills. Her voice is amazing!

that cover is well-known, there’s a lot of work that she did about the covers, a couple of years ago she did another backyard series and she dropped plastic hearts (her last album, and then a couple of weeks ago she dropped attention, her live album which is amazing) 🥹
Honestly, all I ever knew of Miley was her pop album crap before she covered this song. Since then, I've discovered multiple gems from her outside of her pop stuff, and she's talented AF. It's like when I first discovered Pink had a punk band on the side. Lol.

Nah. Check out her Stevie Nix “Edge of Midnight” remix. I think you should definitely dig into her catalog a little more. I had a strong dislike for her music until I heard that song. She’s a lot different, and her voice changed quite a bit. Something legitimately happened, like an injury or something, I don’t know. She’s just different now.
Maybe her divorce….but I’m thinking her just maturing…usually happens…singers go through their crazy phase and them mature and blossom into something totally different

More likely she stopped listening to the Record Label's 'vocal coaches'. For some reason the vocal coaches the major record labels use for image and sound design have an obsession with making women sing in the higher octaves. They think it makes them sound younger and sell to a bigger demographic.
Yea that woman is definitely one of the most skilled of her generation. It's not just how big she can go but more so that when she does it's technical perfection. No crack, no shakiness and she makes it look effortless.

Coming from an eminem fan, Miley is one of the most talented people I've seen. Her voice is golden in all categories. Her pops was famous and she was on a Disney show so she had to "shock rap" as you like to say herself out of that. But you can't deny her talent. If anything listen to her cover of "Jolene" to hear the full depth of voice.

her recent album was #1 on top rock albums billboard chart and she's the best selling artist born in 90's and absolutely deserves it, her talent is insane. i saw her live last summer as headliner of lollapalooza and she did an amazing live show, the best singer under 30 years old in my opinion

To be honest, I was never really the biggest fan until she got into more rock. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always thought she had a fantastically unique voice( due to her beautiful low register- not quite THIS low in the past though) but she mainly did pop and that’s not usual go to for music. Now though, her voice has gone through so much. I think she’s an ex- smoker, she had to have some sort of vocal surgery( someone correct me if I’m wrong) and just.. you know, going through a divorce and losing her home has to be more than stressful. All of that and she came back with this really unexpected transformation, attitude and voice. She’s still doing pop, but she’s putting a lot of vintage rock influences into it that I personally love more than anything she’s ever done. she’s an absolute powerhouse on the stage. definitely check out more of her recent stuff. she’s also done live performances with big name artists like Billy Idol, and of course, Metallica, and others. She is becoming a force and Im a fan now. 😄

I'm a little sad you skipped over the rest of the interview. I never gave a crap about Miley until she covered this song, and her reasons behind the cover spoke to me. I'm not a pop guy, but if pop "artists" come into my world and make fire, they gain my respect.
My daughters grew up on Hanna Montana so I always made fun of Miley. Until I heard her music recently. She is super talented.

Its uncounted the amount of conversations I've had regarding Rap Music...ignorant people saying they are 'talentless, can't sing, gangster pish etc etc etc' then I have to explain the wealth of talent and creativity and sheer quality of lyracism etc..telling them they dimiss talent because they don't like the sound.. I point them toward your 'Rap God' video as a way to hear the sheer lyrical brilliance they miss in the drum machine sound...
