Staring is very common in Autism, or intently looking at someone. If you didn't know that person had Autism, you probably would think creepy. BTW, this is Addi from the chat and I am on the spectrum, and one has to be told they are staring, it's not something that an autistic person is aware of in the moment. Hope that made sense.

This girl was emotionally, physically, and mentally abused for over 20 years. Her mother could have instantly killed her with all the drugs and surgeries she had her daughter take and go through. I'm sure they must have taken a toll on Gypsy's health and brain development.

When she was in the spotlight with cameras rolling, thousands of people around, STAND UP and simple say "I can walk and have never needed a wheelchair. I was never sick. In almost 20 years the opportunity was never there? Some one wrote me and said"Her mother would starve, beat, and chain her up. Common sense and logical conclusions would put 'Mommy dearest 'in jail. Mom would not drag Gypsy off stag or wherever, drive home and beat Gypsy. If something doesn't make sense than its probably not true. I believe people hate to be wrong and duped (fooled) by anyone! Gypsy has played a conn! Dense people will defend until their dying breath if I say the world is round and Gypsy will say the world has no oceans! She will be believed because of her tiny baby voice, small body and youth. She has played you like a fiddle! And ruined a young man's life! Again,I'm so weary of saying this, the only way out of MY abuse was to commit suicide. I won't presume to say my abuse and millions of children abused everyday compares to Gyspy! But I would have liked to change places with her! I know I'm probably wasting my time. Because some , uncouth ignorant person will tell me what a useless loser I am. Go ahead: I have had worse comments directed to me as a child. I almost preferred the beatings. The sexual assaults was my least favorite on the list of torture.

Carla KoalaBear Parry but....the autistic kid she manipulated into killing her mother is doing LWOP. How does the justice system take her vulnerability into account, but not his? The balance is completely off. Gypsy is not learning disabled, she is astute enough to plan EVERYTHING. She is a manipulator, just like her mother. She should have gotten at the very least a 15 yr sentence, and Godejohn should have gotten life with the possibility of parole after 30yrs or something similar. The balance is off here. Without gypsy and her planning......DeeDee would still be alive. She was astute enough to plan her mothers killing......but, not brave enough to carry it out herself. Yes....she is a victim, but she sorted that out by manipulation of a learning disabled autistic kid! She’s her mothers daughter alright. 👍🏻

She comes across really honest, responsible, aware of her role in this and able to answer as adult and not as a child as she had to act like previously.. She does own up to her part in everything. Her abuse is clearly noted by the court but I understand she did indeed help kill someone. I think it would make sense to have her serve a handful of years and then transition to a rehab to finish her sentence. There she can appease her crime but set her up to be a healthy person in society since she was never raised to do so. Side note: She may have not been actually sick but I bet her body took a beating with all the unnecessary drugs and surgeries. I think she will be recovering from what her mom did to her for the rest of her life both mentally and physically.

This whole situation is so incredibly heartbreaking. One point I haven't seen many people bring up is the medication that Deedee was giving Gypsy were hardcore narcotics. She was on several different opiates & benzodiazepines. She had no choice or really any knowledge of exactly what her mother was giving her via her feeding tube. She was drugging her while she was asleep & she had been on these medications for years! She was addicted & there wasn't anything that she could do about it. Besides suffering from severe PTSD she wasn't in the right mindset due to these medications & she never should have been held responsible or been found competent to face trial. Her mother abused her physically, mentally, psychologically, & medically. She had full control over every aspect of her life. It's just horrifically sad & I don't think anyone deserves to be murdered but she definitely should've gotten arrested & charged with abuse & fraud & spent the rest of her miserable life in prison with no control over anyone's life including her own. That would've been the best outcome but I understand 100% how Gypsy felt there was no other way to freedom. It's not like she hadn't tried on multiple occasions to escape & she was terrified of her mother. Unless you've been in a situation where you've been controlled & abused like Gypsy you have no way of knowing how terrifying it truly is.

If Gypsy is going to be held for 10 years, she should be held in a psych hospital. She needs all of the help the state has to offer. I just hope that in prison, there are classes or programs she can go through, because this young lady was raised in a way that I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Munchhausen by proxy is real and Gypsy suffered her entire life because of it. Her mother kept her sick. She made Gypsy think she was sick. Gypsy’s mother wanted attention and wanted the free things that came along with the charade she was using her daughter for. It’s ridiculous! How could Gypsy possibly fully understand what would happen if she had her mother killed. I’m not saying it was right. I think she should be punished, but not in prison.
Nic does, however, need to be in prison for what he did. I understand he has a mental health issue, but he knew right from wrong. Things could have been done differently, but they weren’t. No one can change that.

She really sat there and took that much responsibility even after everything her mother did.
We have to give her credit for that.
I do believe she wanted that life to end rather than her mother’s life,
however in the reality of it all she probably thought this way the only way out the way she says,
I thought I’d just remain a missing person forever.
Really shows she had no idea of how real life works and the magnitude of what had taken place.

Gypsy was dangerous but not because she was bad, but because she was manipulated and trained for YEARS to trick and deceive. I hope her wardent, jail counselors (if they have that sorry I’m 19), and doctors actually help her figure out that’s not the way to treat herself/others. God bless you Gypsy you’re strong and I really hope her mental health and emotional health improves when she gets out

The second guy to ask questions was good. He was actually going somewhere with the questions and making sense. He wanted to clear the idea that Nick was just as bad and as responsible for the actual murder part. He wanted to use a machete, he searched them online, he wanted her to carry the knife into the bus, he told her steal it. In all, he was still the master/ dominator. This was her last idea while it was Nicks main choice, he didn’t even want to try to get her pregnant, but was willing and wanting to kill her mom.

Such a tragic tale. Feel for both of them. Respect for telling the truth. Cases like this are so bizarre. She was being captive & really didn't understand (due to her mom's manipulation/lies her whole life) that there was even another possibility to live free. Yet her mom is dead. He was influenced by Gypsy to commit this crime but not in the way we're used to seeing in these type cases. I don't think either thought out the impact of what they're doing. It's so hard to reconcile all the moving parts in this case, your left to wonder was justice really served.

Neighbors thought Dee Dee had probably lost her phone and it was a joke. Just crazy. I didn't know them personally, I just followed people that followed them and friended them just to be supportive, as I have a close family member with CP and other issues that I've helped take care of. I couldn't imagine taking my child's freedom and life away for my own selfish, insane needs.

      C. R oh I know, I have 2 sons with autism, as well as a husband with it. In this specific instance, Nick seems to be using HIS autism and his struggles with it as a crutch. I apologize if I came off insensitive or ignorant.
