Staring is very common in Autism, or intently looking at someone. If you didn't know that person had Autism, you probably would think creepy. BTW, this is Addi from the chat and I am on the spectrum, and one has to be told they are staring, it's not something that an autistic person is aware of in the moment. Hope that made sense.
Fun Fact. I read that mama Dee was cremated, sent back to her family. Who in turn flushed her remains down the toilet. I call that a bit of justice. Now let's go after all those criminal doctors that failed this girl.
This girl was emotionally, physically, and mentally abused for over 20 years. Her mother could have instantly killed her with all the drugs and surgeries she had her daughter take and go through. I'm sure they must have taken a toll on Gypsy's health and brain development.
@Lee Schn I can only imagine what this poor went through and then even after all of that she sat up there like a real women and took almost all of the blame she could have easily sat and played the victim role but she didn't I don't think the poor girl should have got jail time
She is so easily manipulated because of what her mother did. She wouldn't have done all those things that she felt was weird if she didn't have some damage done by her mother
Emily Carter yes me too. She seems so smart too for someone her mother always said was delayed. I hope she gets to live the life she should have been allowed once she gets out.
EXACTLY!!!!! No woman should be given the title of "mom" because they simply gave birth. Being a true mom is a privilege. Deedee was and never would be a mom
Lily Breton I agree with the mother part but I still don’t think it’s ever ok to take someone’s life. I just think that the situation could have been handled differently.
Jail doesn't help everyone it makes the person worse and ppl who r as manipulative like her mom deserve death so even if she was alive she needed killed and tortured the way she tortured gypsy
Tammy Brady I totally agree! She takes the blame and owned every part of it! Most people dont. When she is released I hope the very best for her. I have heard that she feels freer in jail than with that monster who gave birth to her.
I MY yeah it was appropriate in the unusual circumstances. I’m not sure what the non parole period is but I imagine she’ll get out as soon as that period expires. I doubt she will serve her entire sentence.
he has read her situation and why she did what she did. so he took on a persona of being gentle with Gypsy so she can feel safe while in court. but he knows that she has to go to prison its a very hard situation to be in.
“dO yOu HaVe a dRiVeRs LiCeNse.” Now, In this girls sheltered abused life... when did she have the time to get a drivers license, never mind learn how to drive? 😂🤦🏽♀️
The pain in her eyes when she talked about her plan to get pregnant. ): true desperation and limited options. Wish that the world didnt fail this beautiful young lady
Giving her tissues ahead of time. Making sure she knew where her water was. Making sure neither side took advantage of her or got abusive in any way Making sure she was given a fair sentence. That's what judges are for❤
Lizz why would she have lied then? It’s already too late to lie. The investigation found everything she has done, there’s no reason to lie because she already knew it was over. She would’ve went to prison one way or another.
@@paulaschroder2076 Thankyou Paula, I thought the judge is suppose to remain impartial ,to the case ,it comes over as , she is not guilty ,before she has a trial ,and it feels like the jury ,are going to be influenced by him as well ,I just feel the whole thing is unethical,!! I've never ever seen this behaviour in court before ,and part of my studies ,was to study different cases in court ,!!!
@@dawntaylor4210 Yes! My college degree was in psychology. The judge IS an influence on every person in court. The Undisputed fact is Gypsy orchestrated her mother's murder using a mentally disabled man. The judge is influenced by her "little girl voice" and small statue! Yes! The judges demeanor and actions are unethical. Thank you for this obvious observation!!!
@@Radioactivesharkk Agreed. She tried other plans prior. Had the bf not been around to egg her on, ACTUAL death never would have been on the table. She was already living in her own head. Planning the fantasy was one thing, actually acting it out was not something she was ready for!
the way she said “i don’t know how to drive” honestly hurt my heart because she’s STILL SO INNOCENT. she doesn’t even know how to drive, she’s never worked, she has had just about as much exposure to adulthood as a 14 year old. i feel so bad for her and i’m sad that she is 27 and never experienced anything at all.
Her mother was planning on keeping her prisoner for her entire life. She will be so lost on responsibilities and how to function in adulthood because she was never taught these things.
“Why did you buy the knife at Walmart?” -“ I did not buy it, I stole it.” Wow. I don’t justify what was done to her mother, but I can’t help that I understand to a certain extent the level of desperation she must’ve had at that point. That line alone spoke a lot about her. I hope the best for her going forward. May she flourish to her best self in 2024.
She was on a laundry list of meds at the time of the murder. She was never in the right state of mind during the whole planning and carrying out of the murder. She’s a victim of her mother. Naive and immature and wanting to be free... so sad.
Camarie Brooke..Well,it's great that Gypsy had clarity to plan her mother's murder using a mentally disabled man. !! Her mother obviously skipped a few days of drugging Gypsy. Thank God! .. sarcasm!
Paula Schroder Are you dumb? For one, you’re comment made no sense, and two, she was high on tons of drugs for the majority of her childhood. Don’t you think that takes a toll on your mental stability? And on top of being drugged all the time with medication she didn’t need. She was being physically abused, she teeth were crumbling from all the meds, and she was trapped in her house 80% of the time. I’m surprised she recovered how she did and she not still crazy. For you to say she was 100% in her right mind when she murdered her mom is so far from the truth.
@@camariebrooke2082 No I am not dumb. Thank you for your concern regarding my intelligence. I attended several colleges so I can read, write and comprehend and understand BULLSHIT when I see it. Obviously you must have read one of my sarcastic comments. This travesty of Justice hits close to home. I am a little weary of defending my knowledgeable views on Gypsy Rose and the boyfriend( I forgot his name). But I am fully aware that he is mentally challenged and was manipulated to murder the mom. Right about now you are indignant. For 20 years I was sexually, physically and mentally abused. I tried suicide at 13 years old. I won't bore you with details. I am almost 60 years old and I don't appreciate some of you being rude and posting nasty comments. As for Gypsy. After 20+ years, the only solution was MURDER! She meticulously crafted a grisly murder, but can't plan an escape!! When she was in the spotlight with cameras rolling, thousands of people around, STAND UP and simple say "I can walk and have never needed a wheelchair. I was never sick. In almost 20 years the opportunity was never there? Some one wrote me and said"Her mother would starve, beat, and chain her up. Common sense and logical conclusions would put 'Mommy dearest 'in jail. Mom would not drag Gypsy off stag or wherever, drive home and beat Gypsy. If something doesn't make sense than its probably not true. I believe people hate to be wrong and duped (fooled) by anyone! Gypsy has played a conn! Dense people will defend until their dying breath if I say the world is round and Gypsy will say the world has no oceans! She will be believed because of her tiny baby voice, small body and youth. She has played you like a fiddle! And ruined a young man's life! Again,I'm so weary of saying this, the only way out of MY abuse was to commit suicide. I won't presume to say my abuse and millions of children abused everyday compares to Gyspy! But I would have liked to change places with her! I know I'm probably wasting my time. Because some , uncouth ignorant person will tell me what a useless loser I am. Go ahead: I have had worse comments directed to me as a child. I almost preferred the beatings. The sexual assaults was my least favorite on the list of torture.
zwergie256 It was mentioned in the trial many times and there was even pictures used in court of a pantry full to the brim with medications for many different diseases. She said herself she would take many orally but she also had a feeding tube put in her body and her mom would also put many medications through the feeding tube while she was sleeping.
Swan Kelly I believe that from what I read deedee would drug her to make her sleep everyone child protection would go out. And if you look at the medical records it would had stated she has all this stuff. Because no doctor was truly sure and others didn’t really suspect anything. Remember she used the hurricane Katrina situation as an excuse for the records being lost so the doctors trusted moms word.. so sad for this girl
All those medications her mom forced her to take probably will shorten her life by a lot. All the damage on her liver and who knows what else. The sad thing is even though her moms gone, her life will still be affected by her.
I love that she wants to hold the mic! Never being allowed to do a damn thing her whole life has made her the kind of person who will enjoy EVERYTHING when she gets out.
@@BrookeRainwater I was thinking the same thing lol. Why brilliant? I don't think it was a trick he (the judge) just felt true compassion for gypsy because of all she went through. At least that's what I took from the video.
@@grace4742 In England yes your right but in the United states it doesn't. This is why I thought it was a weird way to word it but if Vanessa Casey is from England then it would make sense
LoLuvLo watch gypsy’s revenge. It’s on RUclips. She isn’t completely innocent in this. If someone can plan murder, they can plan to leave. She’s a bit manipulative this girl. She also sent those messages about the bitch is dead. Video of her in bed with the boyfriend the night after they killed her mother! I’m not dismissing her mother...but, she planned it all. With an autistic boy who had no impulse control. So, is he her victim because she manipulated him into killing her mother?? Think about that.
Carla KoalaBear Parry but....the autistic kid she manipulated into killing her mother is doing LWOP. How does the justice system take her vulnerability into account, but not his? The balance is completely off. Gypsy is not learning disabled, she is astute enough to plan EVERYTHING. She is a manipulator, just like her mother. She should have gotten at the very least a 15 yr sentence, and Godejohn should have gotten life with the possibility of parole after 30yrs or something similar. The balance is off here. Without gypsy and her planning......DeeDee would still be alive. She was astute enough to plan her mothers killing......but, not brave enough to carry it out herself. Yes....she is a victim, but she sorted that out by manipulation of a learning disabled autistic kid! She’s her mothers daughter alright. 👍🏻
"How did you know you didn't need a wheelchair?" "Because I could walk." "Why didn't you take the car?" "I don't know how to drive?" "Did you have a license???" lmaoooo some of these questions are just so ridiculous lol
It was very interesting to watch Gypsy's manner throughout. She comes across really honest, responsible, aware of her role in this and able to answer as adult and not as a child as she had to act like previously.. She displays more sanity than I could sense from reports of her mother. I think the jail sentence was needed but I think she will go on to do well and adjust to the world after this. I know nothing justifies the crime but it's clear how confused and desperate she felt at the time.
@@jords5757 Yeah! Do you think that maybe honesty must just be so freeing for her after being forced to lie or pretend all her life. Hopefully she has enough rehabilitation and strength to have a good productive life when she gets out :-)
She was in effect “kidnapped” by her own mother. Emotionally, physically, psychologically held captive. I can understand her deluded attempt to get free. I do think she needs therapy and not jail-time. Her fantasy life was for her more real than the horrific real life she endured at her mother’s hands.
Multiple things justified the crime and she did not deserve her sentence. If this had not happened I assure you it would have been Dee Dee on trial for murder.
In one of the videos I watched on this Gypsy was "diagnosed" with a disease that wouldn't allow her to live passed her teens. What do you think Dee Dee was going eventually do?
That defence lawyer and his comment about consent really bugs me, she gave consent but then wanted Nick to stop and the lawyer states “but you still gave consent”. Ughhhhhh
Some people just don’t understand. This might be a little TMI but even when my boyfriend and I️ are having sex and maybe I️ feel like a certain position is hurting me or whatever I️ tell him to stop and he immediately stops. He doesn’t continue to force himself on me or ignore me when I️ tell him to stop. So yeah I️ know what you mean, so frustrating when people don’t understand that when a man/woman tell the other person to stop it means that they should STOP, and that’s when the consent ends
@@sshitshow Because at the end of the day its not his entire say. Theres other things taken countable for courts abt murder. She took a plead deal anyways.
We can all sit and judge this girl and say "could've should've would've" but most of us have not one inkling of an idea of the horrible things she endured because of own mother. It's a very sad and tragic case all the way around.
Tonya I agree completely. I’ll never pass judgment on this girl. I even feel like she was so completely controlled she wouldn’t really know about ‘real’ life. She obviously thought this would work and she’d just be a missing person. She was 21 at the time? She thought $5,000 would help them escape and start a new life? That might last 2 months. She just has no idea. Nobody should be judging this girl. She obviously has been a victim of Munchausen by proxy.
Same goes for the guy I think. Most people are saying the mother deserved it. He, actually loving this girl must've felt it even deeper than any of the people saying that. Not saying it makes it ok, but at least understandable.
God when the judge and all the legal team left and poor Gypsy was left on the stand with Godejohn trying to stab her to death with his evil eyes, I felt so uncomfortable for her. I simply cannot feel anger towards her. She’s been through so much we will probably never even know about. I appreciate the judge’s kindness towards her.
Attorney: "when you bought the knife[ used to kill your mom] at Walmart...." Gypsy: "no I did not buy it I stole it." Attorney : "my apologies..." Wow.
I caught that too...the truth has set this young lady free...mind wise...cant wait till she comes home and becomes a productive citizen...on top of every movie director is going to want her story to make her $$ by and books... #gypsyisfree
I’ve always thought that too! If you changed the scenario slightly and imagine a man kidnapped her as a baby and then keep everything else the same, would anyone be punishing her? Is it because it’s her mother that she’s in prison? No, I don’t condone murder but I feel like no one understood MBP until this last year and that’s why she was punished like this tbh
I am not going to win any good-parenting awards but I feel so much sympathy for Gypsy. Her situation was so tragic. Her mother such a monster. There will be no happy ending for anyone involved in this.
Don't feel sympathetic for a human killer. That is wasted emotion. Rather, focus on the weakness of this one lady. Who sympathizes with a killer. She is allowed to kill those who abuse her? You feel bad she lost control of herself. Waste all around.
Yes what DeeDee did was monstrous but I think she should've gotten help too. She was obviously suffering from something and I dont think being murdered was a solution
@@Borrelaas she didn't need to do much manipulating. He wanted to, he did, and he was proud of it. Had no problem telling them everything. Snitched on himself
Let this poor girl out. This hits home to me, and I just want to give her a hug. She was a victim to so much abuse, yet you can tell she is still a kind gentle person. Imagine if you were in her shoes... her mother was evil. There’s no other word to describe her. You can tell the judge has sympathy for her as well. If you don’t have sympathy for this girl, you have no heart. Free Gypsy ❤️❤️❤️
Christina Schulz Agreed! what can we do as a society? She is no threat to us at all and its ok really, she's a sweet poor girl gypsy is, I feel this is not fair and this not justice. Gypsy is a princess like Rapunzel locked in the tower.
She was physically, medically, and mentally abused for more than 20 years. She shouldn’t have to spend a day in prison. If I was the judge, I would have sentenced her to a mental rehabilitation and correctional facility because of the impact of the trauma, abuse, and isolation; that way she would be able to thrive when she is released.
and emotionally.. and socially... and financially. poor woman admits to "stealing" from her mother when everything was raised FOR gypsy herself, she "admitted" she stole from her mother before leaving bc she actually thinks she stole. she was 23 and that money was raised and donated in her name. legally it all was gypsys.
She is actually really pretty, when she was under the care of her mother she was so strange looking, as her features are eccentric. She is a beautiful young lady now especially with her long hair. Also, despite having only a second grade education she is incredibly eloquent and obviously intelligent. So far from being “slow” as her mother tried to say she was.
She does own up to her part in everything. Her abuse is clearly noted by the court but I understand she did indeed help kill someone. I think it would make sense to have her serve a handful of years and then transition to a rehab to finish her sentence. There she can appease her crime but set her up to be a healthy person in society since she was never raised to do so. Side note: She may have not been actually sick but I bet her body took a beating with all the unnecessary drugs and surgeries. I think she will be recovering from what her mom did to her for the rest of her life both mentally and physically.
Is anyone else impressed with the truth? How many other criminals sit and lie? She literally is giving them the entire story despite how it will turn for her.
I really believe that due to her extremely sheltered, horrific and abusive upbringing she can’t be held fully responsible for this killing. She really thought her life would turn out like a fairytale after her mother was killed and that she’d live happily ever after. She had almost zero knowledge of the outside world. She seems like a very sweet, genuine person. I feel for her.
I truly believe if this had not have ended this way it would never have ended, not justifying mom death, but so believe it would have continued, still. sad.
This whole situation is so incredibly heartbreaking. One point I haven't seen many people bring up is the medication that Deedee was giving Gypsy were hardcore narcotics. She was on several different opiates & benzodiazepines. She had no choice or really any knowledge of exactly what her mother was giving her via her feeding tube. She was drugging her while she was asleep & she had been on these medications for years! She was addicted & there wasn't anything that she could do about it. Besides suffering from severe PTSD she wasn't in the right mindset due to these medications & she never should have been held responsible or been found competent to face trial. Her mother abused her physically, mentally, psychologically, & medically. She had full control over every aspect of her life. It's just horrifically sad & I don't think anyone deserves to be murdered but she definitely should've gotten arrested & charged with abuse & fraud & spent the rest of her miserable life in prison with no control over anyone's life including her own. That would've been the best outcome but I understand 100% how Gypsy felt there was no other way to freedom. It's not like she hadn't tried on multiple occasions to escape & she was terrified of her mother. Unless you've been in a situation where you've been controlled & abused like Gypsy you have no way of knowing how terrifying it truly is.
Her composure & sincerity seemed to throw the Defense attorney off. He couldn’t ruffle her feathers, even when he implied she may be illiterate. I was so glad the Judge treated her with compassion. He was so kind. Every witness, defendant, etc. deserves to be treated that way, but this is a very unconventional case. She’s more a victim than culprit.
Well said. He did try to ruffle her feathers indeed! It makes me wonder if they also feel deep down that she is a victim as well..how could anyone knowing her full situation even feel good about putting her on trial for this?
Why would the Defense attorney try to ruffle the feathers of their own witness? The defense called her as a witness to show her part in the planning., she didn't say anything that threw anyone off, it would be counterproductive to try and make your own witness seem incompetent This is Nicholas Godejohn's trial, she was testifying on behalf of the defense.
It was the prosecutor who was thrown off. He didn’t want her to take as much blame as she did - so that he could convict Nicholas. He was the one who started having her read the deposition transcript.
Just to add one more thing.. I applaud this judge for being so courteous to Gypsy. I never witnessed him being rude to her. She needs to know not all authority figures are crazy.
The common person sitting in the courtroom cannot film the proceedings. However, the court has someone filming everything and typing everything being said to have as an official record.
I remember when her case came out and the fact that she was forced to take epilepsy medication despite not having epilepsy...actual epilepsy patients came forward and i remember one person said "Taking my epilepsy medication feels like abuse in itself, I cant imagine being forced to endure it without life or death being a motivator. She tortured."
i enjoyed the act but they left a lot of things out made up a whole bunch of stuff i want a movie of Gypsy like a bio-pic and with everything 100% accurate.
I think she was going from the frying pan into the fire.......I think Godejohn would’ve been just as bad as her mum. I think he would’ve controlled everything she did too.
@@LoLuvLo It's a likely story for people who grew up in abusive households. I remember an old co-worker tell me once that she thought if her boyfriend didn't hit her, then he didn't love her. She thought this because her father would physically abuse her mother and her and then tell them he did it because he loved them. She thought that was normal and it took her a long time to come to terms that it wasn't normal and it wasn't love.
darkdistiller ...now THAT’S sad. Years of therapy is all that can cure that mentality. We never know what goes on behind closed doors. Surely more dysfunction than we realize!
So if it wasn’t him it would’ve been someone else probably worse. She didn’t have a chance. And I’m probably going to get backlash for this but she seems happier in jail where she can get her education her meals are paid for and I’m sure when she gets out she’s going to have so many people supporting her she’s gonna be able to be anything she wants to be. And I’m trying to make good of a bad situation when I say that. Do I think she deserves jail no absolutely not.She would’ve been so much better in the custody of her father and stepmother with her brothers and sisters around her.
Tammy Barnwell ...she DOES seem happy in jail, doesn’t she! She will at least learn to thrive around other people by being her real self without getting in trouble for being Gypsy. She was already in jail with her mom. The jail she is incarcerated in can’t be worse. She can finish maturing properly. I just hate she has this record now. When she gets out, people will probably help her rather than hinder.
Because he doesnt really understand what hes actually doing. He thinks like 'gypsys mother is hurting her so ill make it stop' he thinks/processes like a child. You should watch his police interview it will give you a better understanding. Its very sad.
I do believe in the justice system but this is not justice. Gypsy lived 20+ years as a prisoner. She doesn’t deserve any jail time. Her mother was killing her slowly and using her as a pawn. Gypsy deserves a life not prison.
@GingerRose min sentence in a psych ward could have been done an argument could be made that all of the physical and mental abuse and even nicks controling acts made her mentally unstable for a long time
@@drea.m3978 if it was a spur of a moment to fight for your life at that second then that would be self-defense. She and her bf planned this over a year and had all the materials needed for them to kill the mom. That's why she is receiving jail time. It's just how the system works
yours truely Gypsy actually planned most of it. Also, according to dictionary.law.com. The definition of self defense is: “The use of reasonable force to protect oneself or members of the family from bodily harm from the attack of an aggressor, if the defender has reason to believe he/she/they is/are in danger.” I have not seen anything saying self defense can’t be premeditated or has to be in the heat of the moment. But then again, I’m no law expert. That’s just my understanding of it
I will never understand this case. One of my biggest fears is my little girl getting sick or hurt and this woman purposely made her daughter pretend to be sick? As a parent how could you do that, how could the sight of your child sick just not break your heart
Munchausen by proxy is what her mom had. People with this disease crave attention and praise from others and any and all cost. They are known to make people they should be loving slowly sick or even kill them. They make them dependent on them.
Despite her upbringing, she seems very intelligent and quite poised. Didn't allow abuse to turn her heart black and shes not allowing jail to turn her into a hardened fool. Proof you can be strong AND gentle at once. She's going to do great things when she gets out. 😏
Nekkiepooh1 her heart isn’t black. She was abused by her mother for her whole life with absolutely no way out. Put yourself in her shoes and then comment
Nekkiepooh1 that Woman wasn’t a mother to her. A mother loves you and plans on bringing you up properly. That woman abused her, kept gypsy against her will and used her for getting money from donations. She pumped Gypsy with medications she didn’t need and had her have real Surgeries she didn’t need! Gypsy didn’t even know how old she was and she wanted to get out of that situation. She also was, as said before, under tons of medication, only attended school until 2nd grade (guess whose fault that is) and got punished for having tried to escape her mother. (That time she told the 35 year old man about her mother which resulted in him taking her to his hotel room and dee dee finding her 4 hours later and abusing Gypsy because of that.)
If Gypsy is going to be held for 10 years, she should be held in a psych hospital. She needs all of the help the state has to offer. I just hope that in prison, there are classes or programs she can go through, because this young lady was raised in a way that I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Munchhausen by proxy is real and Gypsy suffered her entire life because of it. Her mother kept her sick. She made Gypsy think she was sick. Gypsy’s mother wanted attention and wanted the free things that came along with the charade she was using her daughter for. It’s ridiculous! How could Gypsy possibly fully understand what would happen if she had her mother killed. I’m not saying it was right. I think she should be punished, but not in prison. Nic does, however, need to be in prison for what he did. I understand he has a mental health issue, but he knew right from wrong. Things could have been done differently, but they weren’t. No one can change that.
She really sat there and took that much responsibility even after everything her mother did. We have to give her credit for that. I do believe she wanted that life to end rather than her mother’s life, however in the reality of it all she probably thought this way the only way out the way she says, I thought I’d just remain a missing person forever. Really shows she had no idea of how real life works and the magnitude of what had taken place.
Her mom abused her for years and almost killed her with unneeded medicine and medical treatment. Deedee deserved what she’s got. Gypsy doesn’t deserve prison, she was in prison for more then 20 years with her mom.
As awful as it is to say, I'm glad Gypsy was the one who lived in the end. Her mom almost killed her multiple times with those medications without anyone ever knowing what she did to Gypsy.
Gypsy was dangerous but not because she was bad, but because she was manipulated and trained for YEARS to trick and deceive. I hope her wardent, jail counselors (if they have that sorry I’m 19), and doctors actually help her figure out that’s not the way to treat herself/others. God bless you Gypsy you’re strong and I really hope her mental health and emotional health improves when she gets out
I know I’m hella late to comment on this video but hearing her story is heart breaking. I really hope she gets to live a great life after this, no one deserves to be treated how she was and in my opinion doesn’t deserve to be in jail at all. She was escaping her abuser, being in jail is the most free she has been and I hope she does something amazing with her life when she is out!
The second guy to ask questions was good. He was actually going somewhere with the questions and making sense. He wanted to clear the idea that Nick was just as bad and as responsible for the actual murder part. He wanted to use a machete, he searched them online, he wanted her to carry the knife into the bus, he told her steal it. In all, he was still the master/ dominator. This was her last idea while it was Nicks main choice, he didn’t even want to try to get her pregnant, but was willing and wanting to kill her mom.
That woman has been manipulated her whole life. She must suffer from some form of PTSD after everything she has been through. When will someone show her some mercy? Does anyone know when she’s due for parole or when her sentence is up?
NOT ONE TIME DID SHE HESITATE ON ANY QUESTION.... very respectfully answering...#THETRUTH little did she know He would of eventually killed her too... she really does need help...prison is not it... hopefully she comes out and does great things with her life and finds her a decent husband and doesnt do the same to her children... intensive therapy needed here.. wish her the best...
Funnylady as if she the one that manipulated him into this . he wouldn't have killed anyone , without her twisting his mind into what she wanted. she's a coward just like Charles Manson. he conned others into the act. there were many ways out of this an having someone else do it is not the way. she could have have her a huge dose of insulin thats a better way to do it put her in the hospital then she could have got out of it.
Such a tragic tale. Feel for both of them. Respect for telling the truth. Cases like this are so bizarre. She was being captive & really didn't understand (due to her mom's manipulation/lies her whole life) that there was even another possibility to live free. Yet her mom is dead. He was influenced by Gypsy to commit this crime but not in the way we're used to seeing in these type cases. I don't think either thought out the impact of what they're doing. It's so hard to reconcile all the moving parts in this case, your left to wonder was justice really served.
This case sticks with me. I had followed them on Facebook for a long time. Was actually watching the comments when the comments from Gypsy and Nick were posted. Neighbors thought Dee Dee had probably lost her phone and it was a joke. Just crazy. I didn't know them personally, I just followed people that followed them and friended them just to be supportive, as I have a close family member with CP and other issues that I've helped take care of. I couldn't imagine taking my child's freedom and life away for my own selfish, insane needs.
Poor girl wanted to escape her manipulative crazy ass mother and make a life and a family of her own but just met a manipulative crazy ass man instead. 😭 Her whole life is nighmare wow I’m so baffled...
Ohhh I wondered why during his interrogation he said she got the knife from Walmart but had no idea how. I was like…she bought it like she would buy anything else. But now I understand he meant she didn’t have any money
I'm so fascinated by this case, I feel so much for Gypsy I just want to give her a big hug, she's already served her life sentence living the life she had with her mother, there is no evil or malice in that girl, she needs help and support not to be locked away in a cell. My heart will always be with her
Well considering her mom was just making money nonstop from donations for her "sick daughter", checks from the government for her "sick daughter", and whatever job she may have had, she probably didn't actually notice lol
She was getting so much money how would she know what was missing she probably had a check every day from rich ppl . This girl been to 100 doctor visit who knows how much money she had

Because some , uncouth ignorant person will tell me what a useless loser I am. and emotionally.. and socially... and financially. poor woman admits to "stealing" from her mother when everything was raised FOR gypsy herself, she "admitted" she stole from her mother before leaving bc she actually thinks she stole. she was 23 and that money was raised and donated in her name. legally it all was gypsys.
She wanted jail I'm pretty sure. I think she said something abt not wanting to always be around doctors. Which is understandable.
She took a plea deal offered by SA for to serve a sentence of 10 years in exchange for pleaing to second degree murder.
@@chode-i-dis4119 es comprensible con todo lo que ha vivido, quedó traumada y más
I like how the judge treats her. Very considerate of a uncomfortable situation offering her water and tissues etc
The mother was real pretty too.
She is funny looking.
Come on now
yes shes pretty, but her nose.
@Amani Ahmad 8D Varagårdsskolan if a person is pretty then they're just pretty, maybe not on the inside but of course she was a well.
Other than her nose she looks good
She does own up to her part in everything.
The judge is so sweet to her. I'm shook I've never seen a judge so nice.
Zaire Diaz but she still got 10yrs
Kate because she deserved to have 10 years she knows her crime. He was super respectful towards her regardless.
Sandria Martinez the judge is not her father 🤣🤣
@Sandria Martinez how did u even come up with this haha just wondering
Sadly Zaire, she doesn't deserve 10 years! Anyone would've done the same thing
Is anyone else impressed with the truth? How many other criminals sit and lie? She literally is giving them the entire story despite how it will turn for her.
She is probably tired of the lies.
Thats just bc she plead a deal. She didnt tell the truth from the start.
@@anakrol13 im confused wdym she didnt tell the truth from the start bc of the plea deal?

Angel Mary I agree 100 percent!! And I do not feel sorry for her mother
@@KassieShayee1996 me neither...she set herself up for her own ending!!
Very well said¡
Yea I noticed that too. She really kept it together.
“You can’t film anything in the courtroom”
bruh how are we watching this now
The common person sitting in the courtroom cannot film the proceedings. However, the court has someone filming everything and typing everything being said to have as an official record.
😂😂
Yea they have people in there filming! It is public records!
Bruh lolol
Audrey Chan I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING! 🤗
This judge treated her like a human being 💚💚
I remember when her case came out and the fact that she was forced to take epilepsy medication despite not having epilepsy...actual epilepsy patients came forward and i remember one person said "Taking my epilepsy medication feels like abuse in itself, I cant imagine being forced to endure it without life or death being a motivator. She tortured."
My son and I are epileptic. Its true
Well said Daniella😘
I’ve been watching The Act so I’m doing a bunch of research in the middle of shows. This is a crazy story.
i enjoyed the act but they left a lot of things out made up a whole bunch of stuff i want a movie of Gypsy like a bio-pic and with everything 100% accurate.
Totally agree a total act!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how kind the judge is to Gypsy!
I think she was going from the frying pan into the fire.......I think Godejohn would’ve been just as bad as her mum. I think he would’ve controlled everything she did too.
Agreed. It was already very EVIDENT.
She has to be getting some kind of therapy or psychiatric help. She is suffering trauma.
She probably gets intense therapy in jail.
Why did "the act " portray Nick as clueless when he showed alot of initiative in gypsy's recount 🤔 interesting
He seems manipulating and controlling.
Because he doesnt really understand what hes actually doing. He thinks like 'gypsys mother is hurting her so ill make it stop' he thinks/processes like a child. You should watch his police interview it will give you a better understanding. Its very sad.
Also....her mother had her convinced that she would go to jail if they found out she could walk. So she was afraid to tell anyone the truth.
I do believe in the justice system but this is not justice. Gypsy lived 20+ years as a prisoner. She doesn’t deserve any jail time. Her mother was killing her slowly and using her as a pawn. Gypsy deserves a life not prison.
GingerRose Yea but you can look at it as self defense
@GingerRose min sentence in a psych ward could have been done an argument could be made that all of the physical and mental abuse and even nicks controling acts made her mentally unstable for a long time
@GingerRose and she could have went with a jury trail also
@@drea.m3978 if it was a spur of a moment to fight for your life at that second then that would be self-defense.
Payton It's a mental illness, it's not for us to understand. But I agree, unfathomable.
It's actually a mental disease I forget what it's called but it is.
Munchausen by proxy is what her mom had. People with this disease crave attention and praise from others and any and all cost. They are known to make people they should be loving slowly sick or even kill them. They make them dependent on them.
She forced her to take tons of medication she didn’t even need and it’s disgusting. The medications made her have symptoms of diseases as well

How anyone watches her testimony, her police interrogation, her interviews and thinks she deserves to be free is insane.
Exactly!
Got to give it to Gypsy for recounting all the events. Sharp mind after all she went through.
She planned it out, sure she'll remember the details forever
Yeah this sharp mind of hers destroyed the life of a young mentally challenged boy. She deserves life in prison.
I bet Annalise Keating would have got her a shorter or no sentence at all.
Of course she would've, this could've been in her biggest case the class act thing
i love you and this comment. thank you for this 😂😂

She would have covered it up perfectly
And that’s just that on that 😭😭👏🏽
Despite her upbringing, she seems very intelligent and quite poised. Didn't allow abuse to turn her heart black and shes not allowing jail to turn her into a hardened fool. Proof you can be strong AND gentle at once. She's going to do great things when she gets out. 😏
Wittski Whiskey you are so right.
She’s so sweet. I feel so bad for her
Her heart is black. She murdered her mother.
Thank you Covid19/2020 shitshow for bringing me here to watch this trial.
Bridgette Hill She was asked to decide between hospital and jail. Obviously she chose jail, she’s been in the hospital her whole life
She can’t be in a psychiatric hospital because she basically was in it her whole life. Jail is better to each her discipline than making her crazier
Bridgette Hill she is quite happy in jail . She stated it was more freedom then she ever had in her life!
Even the man trying to free her was controlling and already labelling her as a slave for a fantasy oh god 😣
She really sat there and took that much responsibility even after everything her mother did.
We have to give her credit for that.
I do believe she wanted that life to end rather than her mother’s life,
however in the reality of it all she probably thought this way the only way out the way she says,
I thought I’d just remain a missing person forever.
Really shows she had no idea of how real life works and the magnitude of what had taken place.
That judge was so kind to Gypsy. Thank God for that. She deserves kindness, compassion and understanding.
Her mom abused her for years and almost killed her with unneeded medicine and medical treatment. Deedee deserved what she’s got. Gypsy doesn’t deserve prison, she was in prison for more then 20 years with her mom.
YES!
Couldn’t have said it any better
She planned a murder of course she would got to prison for it.
The judge was amazing considering her situation. Kept telling the lawyers let her breath, takes sips of water.
The water was because the sadist mother had Gypsy's salivary glands removed for no reason.
The judge understood what really happened- that it was an extreme case if Munchausen by proxy
As awful as it is to say, I'm glad Gypsy was the one who lived in the end. Her mom almost killed her multiple times with those medications without anyone ever knowing what she did to Gypsy.
Yes
exactly
Gypsy was dangerous but not because she was bad, but because she was manipulated and trained for YEARS to trick and deceive. I hope her wardent, jail counselors (if they have that sorry I’m 19), and doctors actually help her figure out that’s not the way to treat herself/others. God bless you Gypsy you’re strong and I really hope her mental health and emotional health improves when she gets out
The judge coming in clutch with the tissues 😹 he’s probably using them too.

She was granted parole. So happy! ❤
That was her lawyer!!
That woman has been manipulated her whole life. She must suffer from some form of PTSD after everything she has been through. When will someone show her some mercy? Does anyone know when she’s due for parole or when her sentence is up?

Her sentence is until 2024 and I believe she’ll be 33 by then.

Ohhh I wondered why during his interrogation he said she got the knife from Walmart but had no idea how. I was like…she bought it like she would buy anything else. But now I understand he meant she didn’t have any money
I truly believe that she was made to lie for so long by her mother that she felt so FREE to tell the truth the whole Truth.
I'm so fascinated by this case, I feel so much for Gypsy I just want to give her a big hug, she's already served her life sentence living the life she had with her mother, there is no evil or malice in that girl, she needs help and support not to be locked away in a cell. My heart will always be with her
