    Brilliant closing argument. He linked the opening statement so well with the closing. Great timing in his delivery. I liked the way he used Gypsy's part and separated it from what Nicholas did. Explicit and measured. Bravo!!!!

    This sums up my feelings on this case perfectly. Did he have a disorder? Yes. Was he manipulated? Maybe. Is any of this relevant? No. At the end of the day, he took a life, he knew he was doing it, and he knew it was wrong. That's all that matters.

      @@McCucumber Life in prison when she already spent every moment of her life imprisoned by her mother? Please, she conspired to have her mother murdered but it wasnt out of cruelty and it wasnt to be malicious, she was trying to escape her mothers abuse. If the circumstances were different and Nick never came along Dee Dee wouldve eventually killed gypsy herself. Gypsy didnt ask Nick to stab her 17 times or to do it so severely he cut down to her bone. Nick wanted to rape her mother whether it was before or after the murder. Nick might have a disorder, but hes clearly a danger to society and while I dont agree on life in prison only because he's autistic, I can see why he's there and why Gypsy isnt. Gypsy was trying to escape, Nick was brutal in his murder when he didnt need to be. If he had simply slit her throat once and killed her, his sentence might've been less harsh, but he took pleasure in what he did and thats wrong.

I don't care the reason a person is nuts, if a person is nuts and the public isn't safe with them on the streets I don't really care the backstory. But according to you, crazy people, get to do crimes, because of their past that drove them to be crazy. Your idiotic logic says that it's ok for children who were molested to grow up and molest other children. Logic and reason doesn't hurt, just sucks you don't have any.

    Bad parenting , no loving relatives. This is very important when raising a child. Especially if they are mentally and/or physically challenged. I feel sorry for those two but they cannot be let loose on society at this point in their young lives.

    The key is the difference between factual guilt (what the defendant actually did) and legal guilt (what a prosecutor can prove). A good criminal defense lawyer asks not, “Did my client do it?” but rather, “Can the government prove that my client did it?” No matter what the defendant has done, he is not legally guilty until a prosecutor offers enough evidence to persuade a judge or jury to find “legal guilt.” In the end the FACTS aren’t really important. It’s all about what can be proven in a court of law. In this case the prosecutor did his job. The defense attorney did not. Horrible case. Three mentally ill people who no one ever helped. So many culpable people who ignored all of the signs on all three of them.

When her mother gave GYPSY PERMISSION WHY DID GYPSY GET HER MOTHER MOTHER MURDERED. I will support you! He was a sick man that groomed her into believing that murder was normal and that his demon kills and made her believe that since he was ok with killing that was an option! She deserves freedom!

    Very reminiscent of the prosecutors closing argument in the theater shooting case. He bought certain items because the victim would try to fight or flee. He wore clothes that he thought looked scary to the victim. Good point about no plan to save Gypsy, just plans to control the murder and what happened afterward.

    I have a lot of sympathy and empathy for gypsy. I’ve seen some comments here and there claiming she manipulated and used this poor disabled guy. I don’t understand that or see it at all. I cannot even imagine the total LACK of empathy necessary to not see just how brutally abused gypsy was! The ONLY support system she ever had caused her to be ill lied about her bing ill forced her to lie about various diseases made her believe she had various diseases ..isolated her from those who might’ve helped her ...refused to let her have even the barest of the freedoms other children teenagers and a stinking adult child crave or even just have.. that has to be a VERY rare lifetime of lies stacked on fraud stacked on exploitation stacked on theft and on and on..you can also tell the defendant is DEFINITELY NOT manipulated by gypsy by just reading/hearing their texts/messages. Prosecutor’s closing was excellent!

      I think what people are concerned about is that Gypsy grew up with and was completely isolated with a manipulative, abusive, con artist so could she (by no fault of her own) have possibly absorbed some of these characteristics from her mother? It's impossible for us to be in other people's minds or hearts so who knows for sure but the whole thing is definitely disturbing and sad.

      Brooke M
      That is exactly why I think Gypsy should be sentenced to a mental hospital for 10 years instead of prison. She faced so much trauma and abuse and lack of age-development that she should be getting rehabilitations, so she is ready to live in the actual real world with real people.

    • @brookem4904
      @brookem4904 5 лет назад

      @@Johnny-ci8mw I agree with you completely. Her upbringing not only harmed her but did not prepare her for the adult world in any way shape or form. Sadly our mental health care system is a joke so she will stay in prison. I believe her only hope is her father and step mom who are more than willing to help her adjust to life and basically re parent her. We can only hope it's not too late
