I might’ve gotten to this problem too late with stuff shorting out from the bcm getting wet but thanks for the information. You saved me from having to take it in to have someone else do this.

Finally just fixed the issue after weeks of procrastinating. Put a straw into the clip and struggled for hours trying to get it back in place. Tips for anyone doing this would be to make sure and pull back the carpet lining around the hole in the firewall and to make sure your straw is cut short enough that it allows you to put the clip back in place so it’s not hitting the angled tunnel going down the hole.

I appreciate the video. I had the same problem on my JX35, and the simplest solution I found was to just snip off the little disc where the water exits from the drain. That is a debris catcher, and a pretty lousy design. That can be done from where the drain exits from under the car without having to remove the tube at all.

No way I have the patience for that and my wife's Infinity QX60 is in the shop now we're paying $400 for them to clean out the drains or do something after paying $1K after insurance deductible when initial leakage caused mold to sprout out of the leather seats last spring! They should make clearing this tube part of preventative maintenance service. Post your rate, next time I'm going to drive it down to MIA looking for your shop LOL

So I just attempted this fix in my 2011 Sedan, I’ve done engine swaps that took less time lol..frankly I think you’re far better off just adding onto the hose and sticking the additional hose out the hole. This is an absolutely rediculous part and whoever designed this shit should be shot. I got everything out clean and added a straw to drain and I could not get the plastic firewall peice back in for 3 hours even with 14” needle nose pliers. I had it lined up however you are fighting insulation and a weird approach angle. I even but the side of my air vent to allow better access and still could not. Eventually the peice was destroyed and I was forced to add the hose extension but in hindsight I would have done that from the start. What a fucking stupid design Nissan. Give your head a shake.

Because it will happen again. I had my mechanic "fix" the issue like 3 years ago and now it's clogged again. It's only ever been my driver's side floor. So I'm doing exactly like this video and others show you. I will try the trimmer wire also ... Pushing down from the sunroof drainage on the driver's side in case I have a blockage before it gets down to the $15 part. I've seen another guy pull it out and clean it up and just clip off the middle piece and put it back in without the straw.
