It is better to make a groove inside the entire side, and then lay one on top of the other along the entire length of a thin steel rod. In the end, you cover everything together with plastic and it is very strong and looks good.
Well it opens smoother for sure, but it is not a huge difference. Honestly, I am not sure whether it is worth all this trouble - if you are super picky then yes, otherwise probably not.

I just fix the hinges. However my airbag warning light on.
May be need vehicle to fix it. If anyone need to diy. Consult your mechanic first.

Woofer is in the trunk, behind the panel on the left "wall", where you can see the slots.
