How to fix the glove box hinge of an Audi A4 Quattro

I will show you how to oil the piston/plunger on the glove box if the hinge hasn’t broken yet.
If the hinge has already broken I show you how to install metal brackets over the broken hinge.
I also show you how the Bondic does NOT work to fix the broken hinge.

Thanks so much. Never would have thought to look for some specially made brackets to fix this hinge. £3.29 on eBay rather than a new glove box at £200!

Ahhh...the Audi damped glovebox lid. Another Audi solution to a problem that did not exist. Thanks Audi..

Think the piston seizes and that’s what causes the hinge to break also the footwell light doesn’t come on when you open the glovebox usually it’s via the door opening or with the lights on

You can drill a small hole in the backside of the piston and spray a little wd40 in there to make it operate much smoother.

I cant get my pins out. Any advice? I have a new door.
