I would love to know the number of people that you’ve inspired to get their hands in the dirt and work the land. Because it’s not just those who watch your videos, like me. I have 2 neighbors that have started planting in the landscape and food crops just by seeing the pleasure I get from doing those things. It’s wonderful what you and Aaron are doing, Laura. It’s snowballing and if there’s something that needs to snowball these days it’s definitely self sufficiency and working the earth.
I only had a veggie garden when I found my love of gardening, but Laura really inspired my dream for a cut flower garden. Ive run out of space in my current garden, were in the process of turning part of our field into a cut flower garden 🙂

I really do believe that that number is endless! As so many people watch this channel and are inspired. I watched this channel EVERY morning while I was having breakfast during my pregnancy, when my daughter was born, she would react every time she hears Laura's voice! You've inspired a whole lot of us! Thank you for showing up and putting out content!
Me!!! She has inspired me! I had the black thumb of death at first. I have been watching her for about 6yrs I think. The last 3 years have been when I finally got my hands in the dirt. Her videos have been so helpful. My thumb is growing greener by the day.🤣💗

My friend and I purchased some annuals to plant in our porch containers about a month ago. This weekend she told me all of hers died and that she drove by my house to see how ours were doing. They are showing out! My husbands response, “it’s because she doesn’t watch that garden answer lady.” Made me laugh but I have learned so much from your channel. Oh my Laura, watching you garden, more than anything else, makes me wish I were young again and had the energy to follow some of your footsteps in the garden. I am 80 and can’t possibly do these projects now but watching you certainly makes me yearn for the youth it requires. Thank you for teaching our young and old how wonderful gardening can be. Laura and Aaron, what can I say? I watch a few gardening videos on RUclips and you are by far the best one out there! You explain very well, what your doing and why so the people who may not be as experienced as you are get a better understanding. Sharing your extensive knowledge is such a joy to listen to, something’s I know as my mum taught me how and why but there’s other things I had no idea about. I so appreciate that you listed several problems you had with your seedlings and what you'll do differently next time. This is such great information for me as this is my first time growing from seed and actually first time gardening. It's fun and exciting for this 75 year old but very challenging too.

There’s an old cranberry bog here that has since been turned into a state park and it has lovely, sprawling boardwalks like that leading all through the bog and around the park. No railings, just little boardwalk paths big enough for two people to pass by one another out in the bog.

It's filling up Wonderfully Laura! It'll be a Mass of Beauty in no time! Can I make a suggestion for you to try? The Celosia would be stunning in a "High Style" arrangement. I'm a retired floral designer and this style is so easy and striking. Use a low - shallow dish and keep the Celosia the focus by keeping it also low and centered. Add some broad leaves (ie Hosta) tightly at the base of the Celosia - then add height with twigs and pods like curly willow, To finish take a few long grass leaves and loop/tape into the different sized loops to add to the twigs for balance. Give it a try - I think you'll love it!!! Thank You, as always for lifting the spirits of Gardeners around the World!

Laura - I am a new gardener in NC. This afternoon when I went out to check on my vegetable beds, I was so discouraged and wanted to cry. Really a grown woman all by herself sitting in the garden sweating and crying on the inside is not a good look. I know the problem is that I haven't solidified my watering strategy, because I do not have a faucet near the garden. That means I end up hauling water back and forth from the kitchen, which is a real struggle at my age. When I came in and clicked on your video and got to the end when you talked about your challenges with water this year, I realized that I am not alone. I deeply appreciate your sharing your struggles - aka learning opportunities - as well as your successes. It makes a difference for me and others like me, and it encourages us not to give up. Thank you.
I almost gave up on my dream of growing cut flowers because of back pain until I watched this video. I wanted to grow flowers to donate to nursing homes and children’s hospitals in my area. Although all the snapdragons seeds I sowed have all bloomed in their large salad containers, I can still transplant dahlias, bells of ireland, amaranth and sunflowers. Those "weeds" in the orchard were actually quite lovely. That's what a meadow looks like, so I thought you had already put one in. Keep your eyes open for ducklings parading behind their mama to the nearest water source soon. And, cherish these cool days in the middle of May. Here in N Texas, we're approaching triple digits, that is, if we haven't already reached that point. Makes gardening a bit of a chore and I resent this early Summer. ~ Lisa

I used Biotone Starter fertilizer in all my potted flower pots this year and every flower has loved whatever is in that "bag of magic"! I'm in central AL and everything is growing nicely this year.

I know y’all are very environmentally friendly so here’s a friendly suggestion for you. When mowing a patch of high vegetation as Aaron did by the flower shed at the end of the video, start slowly in the middle. Then mow outward. Animals will run out for shelter instead of toward the middle of the area. Still really enjoying your videos. Thanks for taking us along your garden journey. I cannot tell you how much I’ve learned over the years. I’m on year 3 with my cut flower garden. Each year it gets bigger! Thanks again for the inspiration!

I’m always amazed at what I pick up from your videos! We have hard water here in Phoenix Arizona - I just realized from your videos how much hard water marks I have on my plants from watering overhead. From now on, it’s watering under the leaves for me!
Those beets and carrots 🥕 look scrumptious. I got some at the store and they were awful. I always get the bunches that still have the stalks on them - my cat loved munching on the green leaves. 😋

I’ve gardened all my adult life (age 70) and, man alive, you are a whirling dervish! Every thing is so lovely. I really love all the huge trees y’all brought in. I googled black lace elderberry and, alas, won’t thrive in my 8b zone! Love, love your videos!
I don’t mind the sounds of the house being built, it’s life! And you have edited it in a way that calms and relaxes us. As I work in my garden I hear all sorts of things from the neighborhood. The close houses chirping birds, the barking dogs, kids laughing or screaming, fast cars and motorcycles revving up, the conversations and occasional fights among people … not gonna hide it weve all had an embarrassing argument with a person in the yard and not really noticed someone around until they’re peeking around the corner of their garage. We all share fences you know the suburban lifestyle l appreciate it knowing we’re all here on Earth trying to do our best. I enjoy the community and that we have eachothers backs and at other times I want to have a farm in the middle of no where when I can’t stand the certain little things like leaving a dog out all night or when the stray cats come to use our yard as a littler box. But in the scheme of it all we remember why were here. Spread some joy and savor the presence of the people and community you love most. I love your channel and what it brings to so many. Thank you 🙏

Like Aaron, I am a grass and tree person, and though I know you guys are very busy, I am hopeful that you make a video specifically on doing the grass area around the South Garden, maybe on the Highlights channel? I'm very curious about the process since you have the dark brown mulch down already. I just can't wait to see the South Garden when all the grass is finally planted! It's one of those things that makes such a profound difference in the appearance of the full garden. I can't wait! I can't wait! I can't wait!😄 I was just curious why you didn't do it when you did the inner and outer circle? Is it harder to do large areas at a time? Was that just logistics and time? Hi Laura and Aaron! The orchard is so pretty! An idea I thought of watching Aaron mowing, wouldn't it be fun to have wildflowers grown tall with a mowed path/maze!! The kids would love it 🦋. Also FYI, you have a terrific following in Toronto, Ontario Canada!
I had 10 lily Pink Perfection bulbs that I planted in containers four years ago that decided to sleep in year three. This was a shame as it was a central plant for my patio in the summer and autumn.
Then this April I counted about 60 stalks and now hundreds of flower buds, which should start to bloom in about 3-4 weeks. I will have to divide them in November and give the spare bulbs to friends.
I found some seeds last year for corn that could be grown in a pot! But I did not know you needed to shake the stalks to get them to germinate? Thanks to my neighbor who would come and shake them every so often. I had 1 ear and it was WONDERFUL!!! Good luck with your corn.

You guys should get a bunch of prairie dropseed plugs for the meadow area. I feel like that would work very well, and it's so pretty and soft, but also not super tall, so you could get in there and harvest when you need to.
Laura - I know you’ve moved primarily from starting seedlings inside under grow lights to the outside heated greenhouse, but I would love for you to do a video or give some detail on starting seeds inside! After watching your channel for many years, this year was my first season to start seedlings under grow lights inside and I struggled with moisture (even with Gardener Supply’s self watering seed trays) and finding a good balance in temperature for all the dif types of seedlings after germination..I live in central Mississippi, zone 8. I know we live in a much different climate, 😁 but I’ve learned so incredibly much from you! Please let us tag along if you decide to start a few things inside next year ☺️

Really beautiful beets and carrots, bravo! I do hope your corn pollinates, you may still have time to hand pollinate if this is recent video but I want to tell you that corn is wind pollinated, I reckon you are not aware that corn is not pollinated by pollinators because of what you said around 18:35 but corn is wind pollinated BUT it can be done by hand quite effectively by taking the tassel pollen (male part of plant) and placing that pollen on the silks (female part of plant) so that each silk strand is touched with pollen, it's a good idea to do several days in a row because there is only about a week window when the silks and tassels are ready at the same time. You may know that each one of the silk strands actually is attached to one corn kernel and so if each strand isn't pollinated then that kernel won't grow. The reason some corn ears have missing kernels on malformed ears is poor pollination of the silks. It is really as easy as taking a tassel with pollen and rubbing it on the silks but more technical descriptions can be found by doing a search on youtube; you will find many videos on how to hand pollinate corn, Baker Creek Seeds has a good video as does Seed Savers Exchange.
Laura, you’ve mentioned that Benjamin likes to play under that willow tree. Have you considered putting the old water feature there and maybe adding a small seating area? It could be a mini garden for the kids while you work in and around the greenhouse. It’s also close enough to the house so whoever watches the kids while you and Aaron are busy can play with them there. Just an idea. 💗

I vote for planting around the cut-flower shed! I think that space is prime for cottage style planting! Next to the orchard and the meadow look, I think it would look simply enchanting ✨🌼

What a beautiful harvest! It makes me so excited for my 1st carrots coming up and the beets I'm going to plant this weekend; our first garden is 2 4x8 raised beds and I'm having so much fun!

we use to have ducks that would nest every spring at our office, there was no body of water around this industrial area. we bought a baby pool for them and they would do their thing and then be on their way. If they like your area you may see them next year as well.
Awesome start! I have a 12x14 foot vegetable space that I refer to as the farm - today it's rainy so I'm planning to go buy some plants, I have prepared the soil and it is ready for this, my second season!! Ahhh life is good!👏👍❤️🌱
