    We had a pond in our garden with a waterfall. Our Koi would swim to the edge as soon as anyone came near, waiting for food. They all had names. My grandchildren just loved them. It was magical. Enjoy and make memories.

      Laura has to get a waterproof camera soon to see the antics of the fish underwater 😆 it would also be interesting to see how the pond looks from inside with the sun glowing through the lilypads must be magic 🌟 also do put a blackface elderberry at the back would be perfect esp in the spring with the blooms among the evergreens

      When the Koi get bigger, they will love chunks of Watermelon. When we lived in PA we did a 15x25 pond with two waterfalls. Our Koi would come up to greet us as soon as we walked onto the deck and would talk to them. Love Koi kisses when hand feeding.

    Brian having the boulders extend out further from the immediate pond throughout the berms really does make a difference to a cohesive design. The rock colors and textures are a gift to this garden as you plant around them. We’ve added a few smaller ones to our garden and they are a beast to move and place so the fact that you already have them is such a gift from this project. So beautiful.

    I love this pond series and learning about the Aquascape Ecosystem Pond. This type of project and the learning it would provide through ongoing care would be an invaluable and enjoyable learning experience. I am a Special Education teacher (and avid gardener) and will look into ways our community and schools could partner and build a pond to elevate a common area while providing a valuable hands-on learning experience. Thank you so much for putting the series together, I loved seeing the collaboration and the artistry, and the pure talent. Cheers!

    Welcome to pond life! We've had a succession of ponds over the last 34 years in 3 different houses. Not only are the ponds beautiful to see and hear, they bring so much life to the garden. Birds, squirrels, frogs, turtles and insects visit all day long. When the sun goes down, its a wildlife watering hole for racoons, possum, fox, rabbits and deer. Please add a motion activated camera to your pond so you can see who visits the pond. You won't believe it!
    Thank you for your great channel! A friend sent me a link during early 2020 and I have been watching ever since. It kept me going during lock down.

The grass by the waterfall is perfect. It’s nice to see you moving plants. Sometimes I feel like I don’t like something but don’t move it to a better area then I think it’s just a plant I can move it, give it away, get a new one. It really is that easy. Enjoy the day

    In Washington we have a native rose that I assume you all have down in Oregon as well. It’s called Wood’s Rose and it has a more open, natural growth than cultivated varieties. It would be a really cool option for your to get some roses with a native, natural appearance that would suit the vibe nicely. They’re a soft pink single bloom and have color most of the summer. Major pollinator magnet. I constantly see them in meadows and forests while hiking around the PNW.

    • @Chet_Thornbushel
      @Chet_Thornbushel Год назад +6

      Oh! I also just remembered- we have a native/wild bleeding heart that I think you would love! And it blooms all summer and doesn’t sort of fizzle out and disappear by august like the ones you typically see planted. I have several in my shade garden and they’re lovely. The proper name is Dicentra Eximia I believe. Those and the Wood’s Rose are definitely plants that can be purchased through nurseries but they just aren’t as common as the cultivated ones.

What an incredibly beautiful creation! I've learned so much about making it look as though it has always been there and created by nature. I just can't imagine how happy you and Aron are. Your children will have such wonderful memories playing around and in it. Once the fish come over to you for their feeding, your children will be so excited. What was your mother's reaction? I had areas of protection for my fish too but they always managed to get them.. Heron are territorial so that fake one may keep them away.. Hi this is the second day I have run across your channel thanks to Aquascapes!! I have a degree in Botany and used to work in the nursery field!! You don't know how refreshing it is to see you hard at work in your aquascape space!! I'm sorry but I'm new here and I'm not sure what you do for a living but it is awesome to see that you love being in nature and working with your hands and getting dirty!! Your family is lucky to have you!!!!

    The artistry in the pond footage with the music was incredible. I’m having to pause the video to write this. I could watch it over and over. You should make this part of the video into a clip. Or maybe into a longer format video of pond footage with music to it. I found it so calming and relaxing. I’d love it if you’d consider that.

    I was hoping for more pond videos!!! thank you! Can you take us with when you do maintenance? I was wondering if you have to clean the pump like you do for a pool. These videos have been so fun! Thank you for taking us along for the excitement! So happy for you!!!

    I love Bethany’s practical and comfortable overalls. They’re a real game changer in the garden. I got some of Duluth’s gardening overalls, and I never want to wear anything else.

      I agree, I have 2 pair from Duluth that I wear all the time now. I had no idea how perfect overalls are for gardening . . . . should have taken a cue from all the generations of farmers!!

    Cats on rocks are giving me Lion King vibes or Rocky Mountain mountain lion vibes. Remember to run drip to the rearranged plants or perhaps you already did but didn't film that part. This is such a peaceful place.🐈🌲🐈

    So beautiful and I can just imagine how relaxing it can be just to sit in the mornings or evenings. I love how the kitties think you did all that just for them. You can tell how much they love the rocks and being able to explore. The kids will never forget this experience. Great job.

    You should pop a cute tent in the pond Forrest area for the kids to play in! Maybe even a fire pit area in the fall! It looks Spectacular!🥰
