This morning before my coffee and Laura, I ran out seeds in hand and planted mini pumpkins 🎃 on a new arbor. It was beginning to rain and I wanted to get them in before the rain. I checked and it isn't to late, but getting close. Now I am enjoying my coffee. Good morning everyone.
If you haven’t gardened at least once in your pajamas, are you really even a gardener? 🤣. Have a good day!
@@Knoxlette that was me, nightgown and flip-flops. I just thought I'd take advantage of a good rain. 😆

Good morning!
I just realized that I had mini pumpkins/squash growing beside my porch! It was a “volunteer” plant that I at first thought was a cucumber 🥒 but remembered putting small squash in that spot last fall 😆
I love how Benjamin always wants to help! He is learning so much! What a great lifestyle you are creating for your beautiful children! ❤️
Hello👋 pat. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Zack Hudson and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
In any video I do the same coment: ''Your Garden is a Fairy Tale'', becose your garden is a Fairy Tale indeed Laura! Greetings from Flowers Zone, Albania.🇦🇱
Benjamin is getting to be a pro at seed planting! 💚💚💚
I never wanted to grow food. This is the first year I’m growing vegetables. You have inspired me so much! Thank you for all you do!
Me too. I planted two cherry tomatoes and I'm so excited to see them forming. WOW
One of the easiest to plant is Zucchini. And herbs, sage, rosmary, lovage. Tomatos and curcumbers are also easy but need more water.
So agree! I hope to do some cool weather crops!!
Sherry-Knoxville
Me too! I've only been gardening for a few years and my interest has only been in ornamentals but watching GA has been an instigator. This year I built 4 self-watering containers out of 5 gallon buckets and am growing 1 grape tomato, 1 green pole bean, 1 cucumber & 1 batch of carrots (which are due to be harvested soon so I'm germinating another set). Oh, and 1 pot each of basil and parsley. I can imagine that if this year is a success, I'll want to expand...
@@Ibis333
Hope you made a video about your self watering containers!!!
Sounds very interesting 🧐
And smart!!!
Your raised bed garden is always so beautiful. I love how you allow self seeders and stray sunflowers bloom where they are planted.
I just love that you grow healthy food and give some to the chickens so they are healthy and the eggs they give you are healthy - that's what it's all about! Love this♥
It is so nice to see everyday a little or a big change in the garden. It show the live. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Guten Tag. So einen wunderschönen Garten. Greetings from a German in Michigan.
Laura, you are my go to for ALL questions gardening,I have learned so much from you!! I love your videos and I appreciate the time it takes to film and edit these! Thanks Laura for sharing with us your knowlege!!!
I gardened and cooked with my son when he was very young. Now his favorite things to do is garden and cook. He has a bad back so he doesn’t garden much anymore, mostly trees and bushes. I love that he cooks for his family. Your son will love growing things.
Everything looks so beautiful! But those yellow flowers in the centerpiece made me smile! Bright like sunshine! Love it! Also love that lavender hedge. As you say…glorious!
We love seeing Laura's lavender! We are on our 3rd summer of Lavender after seeing Laura's and they have gotten better and better every summer! Thanks, Laura! 🙂
It's so beautiful!! I just saw a tutorial about bending the cut long stems over the blooms and weaving them with thin purple ribbon to make lavender wands to place in linens etc. Now I wish my lavender looked like Laura's!
I bought lavender about 4 years ago ,only atiney plant ,its now ,about 2ft ,and quite bushy ,I didny know u cut them right down ,so thank u for that ,will give it ago when they finished flowering
I love your cooking segments. Could you pls show a stir fry with the veggies? Thanks.
Excellent idea Karen! Thanks!!!
Yes! 🙏🏻
Agreed-and plz include cabbage recipe!
What I love most about the raised bed garden is that, even though it is new, it has a sense of history and feels like it has evolved over time.
Last night, I was admiring my flower beds when I spotted a HUGE weed. The phrase, "Oh my word." came out of my mouth as I stepped into the bed to pull the weed. Yup, I am "Lauraing" it in my garden.....and that is a good thing.
Just when I was thinking I wouldn't get to see the container... Laura saves the day and remembers to show it to us! Gorgeous blend 💜💛
Benjamin's hands are so precious covering seeds with dirt. I love watching him learn. So sweet.
So glad to finally see portulaca being used... moss rose is my all time favorite!!!
Laura, your hands are beautiful tools ready for anything your garden requires. Proverbs says, "She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks." Thank you for showing us that hard work can bring joy in the doing and rewarding in the harvest.
@Lauri Muhonen ~ Wow! I love this Proverbs you put it. I am going to make myself a sign, with that on it. Thank you for sharing it!🤗
@@kimberleyfrasquillo3684 , Proverbs 31:17 is one of my favorites. Where will you hang your sign?
@@laurimuhonen9484 ~ probably in my kitchen. I spend a lot of time there.🥰

Good morning, Laura☕️ The veggie garden is just spectacular 🙌🏻 Those chickens 🐓 are livin’ the good life. I love that you planted all those sunflowers 🌻 in one bed. Can’t wait to see them! Have a Blessed 😊🐈
The rose arbors are just spectacular!!! Love all of it!!! 💕🫶🏻☀️
It’s so fun to see how Benjamin has really started taking an interest in planting this year. I love that you are being patient with him and letting him actually do it. I bet in no time he’ll be working right along side you and Aaron.
I look forward to your videos every day.
Thank you for sharing with all of us.
Good Morning! 😃🥬🍅 I just love the raised bed area! I remember when this area was in the planning! Nice harvest, now on to the next crops! 😊🥦🥬🥕🌽🍓🧄🥔🌿
Isn't it so neat and tidy! I can only dream. 😀
Laura! So many things! I just love that you show the small kitchen garden as well as your larger garden in the new property. We have 27 8x4’ beds and I have so many things I forget or let go and I see I’m not the only one. I’m so happy to see you are planting more flowers this late in the season as well as starting new crops. I’ve gotten a new motivation to not give up! You keep me going! Thank you so much!
We love kohlrabi! My son started calling them cabbage apples, we eat them raw, in salad and roast them. They are fantastic!
I've never had the chance to try it, but eat a lot of raw jicama -- is it anything like that?
@@leapintothewild - I have never had jicama, so I'm not sure sorry. It's very much the texture of a radish, but without the heat of a radish.
@@ruthmazurek8958 Thanks! If I run into it anywhere I'm going to try it. I love jicama - it's like a mild apple crossed with celery, and very crisp. It can be hard to cut, so I grate it on the large size of a box grater and add it to slaw for something different. Also good cut into 'straws' to throw on a veg tray with dips. You can cook it, but I've not tried yet.
Harvesting is the gardeners’ gift for the dedication and hard work put in months beforehand. To the observer in cooler (southern hemisphere) climates, it inspires hope for what is to come.
Yes, here in Southern BC things grow much slower. We’ll get there though!
Evening Everyone xx
Whewwww, Y'all ! I panic every time I see Laura stick her hand into big bushy plants. Do y'all not have to worry about snakes. I was working in my Mom's flower bed last week & bounced outta the shrubs to find a copperhead slithering across the yard. It's been very dry here in Nashville, as of late, and they seem to be every where. Pleaseeee be careful. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us "wanna be" gardeners. I love your videos. Hugs from a hot, humid & "crispy" Tennessee....... Jill 🤠
Laura, thank you for keeping the volunteers in your beds! It’s hard to get rid of something so resilient! I too love the Good Hearted tomatoes. Mine are loaded down right now! Thank you for sharing and teaching us so much! 💚🌞
Great harvest! We just started harvesting squash, they’re growing like mad!
As for dirt, I always look like a mud bug after gardening, sign that ya worked hard 😉
Good morning everyone from Spain! 😊 🌞🌸👋🏼
Good morning!
Laura, can you explain the 'New" Zones for the garden with the addition of the South Garden and the Formal Garden around The HARTLEY? The planting of Marigolds....was that to protect the tomatoes? Please Pretty Please - give us the video of the Stir Fry! (Karenvknight mentioned it in her post - excellent ideas Karen!)
Your Harvest was great.
The new potatoes looked absolutely yummy! Thanks for letting us share the good and the not so good in your gardening experiences, that honesty makes others know they are not the only ones with an occasional Oops! Thanks for the beauty and positivity. Hugs from N.C..❤️
We should have a charter chapter of Laura's Garden Answer group from North Carolina! I'm in the triad.
@@Yrutnec1 I'm in TN just across the border from Boone! Hey, neighbor (sort of)! :-)
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
The Collette roses were gorgeous!
Good morning Laura and family your harvest looked beautiful and yummy 😋. Do you think we can get you to cook and video tape it? Haven't seen your mom and Monica lately hope everything is good.it was good to see Benjamin and the kitty, your veggie garden looks awesome. Thank you 😊 Laura for sharing, have a wonderful rest of the day and weekend, you all have a Happy 4th of July 💥. We're suppose to have some rain today and tomorrow 😀 yay.
YES!! I was wondering how in the heck they eat those huge heads of cabbage in only a couple of days -- obviously I don't have enough recipes that use cabbage! :-) All I do is slaw, add to veg soup, or throw in chunks when I do sheet-pan veggie dinners. Would love suggestions for cooking more cabbage! PS We really need rain here in far NE TN too but it keeps rolling by. Fingers crossed!
Good morning Sunshine 🌄 Happy Gardening Trail's to You!!! And the Garden Answer FAM 🌅🏖️🍉🍓
I can't imagine you planting fall crops already.....time flies.
Your raised bed garden looks wonderful.
Good seeing Benjamin taking interest in gardening.
Always good to see Russell helping in the garden.
Everything looks so pretty.
The rose plants are so beautiful . Love your veggie garden . 🥦🧄 Looking forward to see sunflower blooming .Have a sweet day. 🌻🌻🌻
I love to see Benjamin come out to help in the garden.. so glad he loves it and he’s so gentle.🥰🌱
Always look forward to watching with my coffee in hand. I'm still waiting for my first Dahlia bud.
Laura you always do a great job with letting us know what you are doing. I love the way Benjamin helps you. I enjoy watching you and Aaron do your videos.
Flour and baking soda ( 50/50) can be dusted over cabbage to kill caterpillars when they hatch..... VERY organic! Lol
That’s nice to know. Thanks for the info.
BT is also acceptable for killing cats and also considered organic, I think.
@@saraw8503 anything can potentially kill anything
REALLY? Whodathunkit?!! Good to know.
@@saraw8503 Maybe edit. It took me two reads to get that you meant cat- erpillars. 😱
Hi Laura and Aaron! You got a lot accomplished! I wish you would do a video on the different ways you cook your cabbage, and what you put in your stir fry. Thank you so much for sharing!
Those Roses are WOW!
Laura with that abundance of cabbage you should try your hand at sauerkraut. I made a batch with cabbage and a bit of garlic and fermented it for 3 weeks. It was still a tiny bit crunchy at that point and made FANTASTIC Reuben sandwiches.
I love your raised bed garden. Our house backs up to acres and acres of our neighbors woods. And our yard front and back is full of massive mature trees. I love it but I have no sun!! So I'm very confined to growing shade plants and I would love to have a raised bed garden and grow vegetables. But I would have to take down a couple massive trees. That would not be fun. So I enjoy watching you garden with all your plentiful sunshine. Thanks for the bright spot in my day (no pun intended 😉)
I grow lettuce, cucumbers, spinach, and peas in my shady areas with success! Give it a try.
I have been waiting to hear about the raspyberry. Please let us know how they taste after they ripen.
I think I was behind you in planting - it's awesome that you have a harvest already - it's exciting to see everything grow 👏 the entire process is amazing to me! This is my second year vegetable garden and I'm acTually growing food people are eating! Its a special feeling!👏👍😊
@Andrea Benson ~ Congratulations on your new gardening skills!👏👏👏
You are soooo right, about the feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment when you harvest and eat your own, healthy produce!!!! You know what went into it and how clean and healthy it is.
To many more successful years of gardening!!!🤗🥰👍👍
I love watching Benjamin's gentle touch 💚
I love seeing those little Benjamin hands sowing seeds!
Your fellow gardeners know how the dirt ends up everywhere, no need to worry. I keep a bar of the Scrubby soap at the sink where I come in from the garden. It works great on my nails 💅
Another awesome video!! Thank you!!

Good morning from Missouri!! Love your gardens!
Benjamin is so gentle and patient when he helps with the seed planting ❤ It's always encouraging to even when you're not on top of things when you had hoped, you just start in an area work your way thru! It always feel better in the end. Thank you Laura for the grace.
I was excited to see you raised kohlrabi! Have never heard you mention it before. I had never heard of it until I got married almost 30 years ago. In fact I had trouble finding seed the last 2 years. My husband likes it cut up and cooked with cream of celery soup or with cheese. One year I had so much of it that I decided to skin it and put in in a food processor and used it instead of cabbage for cole slaw. This is now our preferred way to eat it! And yes, they cannot get too large or they get woody. I have heard the leaves are edible, but I have never dealt much with greens. Your produce looked lovely.
I could watch potatoes being harvested all day long! I'd be giggling with delight each time a potato was discovered, like Christmas morning! That was a nice harvest, too. Your lavender against the vegetable bed fencing always looks SO good, and I love the yellow flowers against the lavender in the arrangement. Yellow/blue, purple/orange, green/red or pink are always the best color combinations! Thank you.
Hard work + initiative + creativity = beautiful and productive gardens ‼️
Yaay! 🎉 Among my favorite videos you upload Laura are your clean up maintenance videos and your raised bed veggie garden videos! You just posted both of these back-to-back ☺️ You always make my day when you post them, now I'm double the happy!
Great potato harvest! To me they’re like collecting eggs. I never know how many I’ll get but I’m going to enjoy every one of them!😋
Love your videos, always inspiring. And although things like getting to garlic harvest late sucks, to be honest it is a little nice to see that even Garden Answer is human and has misses sometimes. Because sometimes watching your perfection can feel a little intimidating. Nice to see you have misses in your gardening just like all of us. You inspire in your success and your misses, thank you!
Thanks for sharing.
Such a fresh and organic harvest
I've never seen celery planted and can't wait to see how you harvest it. Love the harvesting!
I just harvest some of my potatoes. First time growing them. They were so yummy
It's an escape to watch your videos. Thank you for all the sharing so much!
hi laura! i bet your neighbors are so thankful they have something so beautiful to see every day of every season.
LOVE THE GARDEN!! Watch the calendula it will invade quickly!
I love when you get dirty! It shows you are a real gardener!
Thank you for a veggie video. I’m learning!
Your chat at the end of the video, and always, is so down to earth and as if we were right there with you. It's so nice. There is something to be said about a person who is genuine, articulate, friendly, and communicative. Thank You. You are easy to learn from and a good teacher. That speaks well of your parents, too. :)
Laura the kohlrabi I cube, blanch and freeze then I use in soups in the winter
The roses on the arbors are beautiful Laura... And them lavender hedges and pots at the entrance are wow...
All your gardens are beautiful and I learn alot from you.
I’m growing Black Krim tomato’s this year and OMG!! They are so good!!!
Love all the cleaning up, harvesting and new plants for a fresh start , enjoy your videos so much❤️
Looks great Laura just love that little garden helper of your he is so sweet and cute I bet he will know everything about plants when he is grown.
Love kohlrabi, julienne them and use raw in a salad is my favourite way to eat them 💚
Kohlrabi and grilled Halumi cheese is great!🥰
My garlic 🧄 (first time planting) unfortunately succumbed to wet conditions and surprisingly had fungus gnats - outside! - in their container. Failure this year, but hopefully I can try again in October.
Don’t give up! I planted garlic for two years, mine did the same. I tried again this year & it looks like I’m going to finally get some! I’m so excited! I was determined & hopefully I’ll be harvesting in the next 10 days! Happy planting!
Love that Russel follows you around. And ask for a nice rub. Nice vegetables! Thank you.

A lot of gardeners here in Australia have good success at keeping white butterflies away by having stakes with a plastic white butterfly on top staked at intervals in the garden beds
