Don't know if you will see this but just wanted to say that seeing this video so long ago made me want a KLR. And now that I finally bought my first bike, I skipped buying the XSR700 I ordered and got a KLR650 Adventure.
I love everything about this. This is exactly why klr's are so awesome. Their versatility is insane. Every mod you did looks great in my opinion. You improved on everything that could be improved. Ride safe man, she's a beaut
Thank you for scripting your video. So good to have precise, systematic, information and not just an "on the road" waffling the flow of thoughts we go. Also appreciated the diversity of camera shots.
You did an awesome job. I like how you have made it so adaptable. I also like how you have stuck with it and made so many improvements rather than just getting a newer one.
I've been looking at adventure bikes on an off for a year or two. I've been riding for 11 years now and have progressed through a Yamaha R6 (as a first bike, how I'm not dead in a ditch amazes me to this day), a Ducati SportClassic 1000 Biposto (wish I never sold it), a Honda Shadow 1100 that never got plated, and have been on a Harley Sportster 1200 I bought in Anchorage and rode to Seattle over the course of four grueling days a few years ago. This video is everything I want in a bike now. I'm sold. Thanks for giving me some inspiration and helping me pull the trigger on going full Mad Max on one of these. Now if I could only get the wife on board....
Dude, you've truly inspired me. I must have watched this, along with all of your other KLR videos (and most of your gear reviews), half a dozen times. After seeing this, I have a very good idea about what I want to do and what gear I want to get when I get my bike this summer. Keep up the good work, man.
It has a certain aggressive look to it now. Although the windscreen is a little funky it gives the impression form over function and it's easily removable which scores major points in my book and the light setup looks amazing. I still think it's original name The Tractor stills fits.
Great job, Tyler. No one illustrates the idea better than you; that you don't have to spend a lot of dough to have fun on a motorcycle. Even if one buys a new KLR, they can add the proper gear the way you have done with yours and still be in it for a third of the price of the high dollar machines. Cheap motorcycles are more fun. Good on ya, mate.
You've outdone your self my eveRide! The bike's capabilities just get better. I've been following your videos for a while and I like how you're still supporting the ADV on a budget mentality. RUclips seems to be the perfect media to get the message out there. Keep it up! '89 KLR Tengai
Love it man. That big has tons of character! I rode a much modified XR650r to Chile, S.A. back in 2006. Took 9 weeks of daily riding to get to Santiago. Guys, do it before you die!
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I am going to purchase a brand new KLR Camo in August due in no small part to your videos. It will be my first dualsport bike and I'm am really thankful for your channel as it has inspired me to rediscover taking adventures as I did when I was young and single, only to include my wife and daughter now. Thank you for your amazingly high quality videos and positive message. I did request some of your stickers and will don my KLR in your honor sir. Thank you.
Frankenstein is the perfect way to put it, I personally don’t like adventure bikes but this bike caught my eye. Piece of automotive work. Great job and great build, thanks for the amazing brutally honest reviews!
Man, I'm more of a cruiser guy....but I'm considering getting a klr just because of your videos. Off-road has always interested me but i never pursued it, see, i never really liked the look feel and sound of dirt bikes. But seeing your klr awakened something in me. Your little beast has a certain mad max like rugged beauty to it. The amount of customization available is astonishing. Your machine is by far the best looking dual sport I've seen to this day.
Building my 2016 klr650 as soon as I get some more time this coming weekend. Had to rewatch this video in anticipation. So far I only have my bash plate, crash bars, center stand and foot pegs. I suppose the low profile drain plug too. I see bark busters, a klrdash, progressive springs, highway pegs, and that seat concepts commuter in my future. It's more of my commuter road queen that has a wild side on the weekends. I'm going more for a comfy ride being as I have a 40 minute commute to work. Going to probably add some panniers too for camping though. I'll definitely do off road stuff with it too but that's like 1/5 of the time.
Definitely one of a kind. When you first posted what you were doing I was confused as to why. But now I'm completely in. That thing is and abomination.. And its awesome!!!!!! I bet it makes you smile to ride that thing..
Beautiful klr u influnced me to buy a tractor a year ago started rebuilding it recently after i had a year of enjoyment and abuse you have converted me from a street bike rider to full adv rider
I totally understand you as en xowner for 13 years Yamaha xt 550. Living 5months in Athens and 7 on an island with just 11 klm of asphalt it was a blast.
I wasn't looking forward to this video because I'm just not a KLR fan in general, but I gotta say this is the best video you have done in a while, and the bike really grew on me through out your video. Great job!
Flippin FANTASTIC Vid! You and several others have inspried me to also get my own KLR 650 (which I LOVE) .. thanks for all you so and share! Lookinf forward to more adventures with your KLR!
Great video! Loved the part with the music starting at 0:50. I love this look. Such a versatile bike. Get that thing on a boat and come to South Africa :)
sick looking KLR. Looks almost exactly like mine. I need to get that windscreen though, every time I have to do long stretches, I get tired from getting beat by the wind. those Tusk Panniers are brilliant. I have same ones on my bike and love them. Roomy, tough and easy to take off. I've dumped my bike hard on them several times and so far just scratches. Once the lid sorta deformed a bit, 30 seconds with a deadblow hammer and I can't tell where it was bent. Great video chief. Love that KLR. It's motovlog history.
After watching you and your pal discussing a call to SAR and picking up your KLR 500 times in one ride..I make the case for my 200 lb 1989 YS 125..plenty of power....easy to pick up
Truly apocalyptic there EveRide! Making Mad Max proud. I love the new look, and am totally down with making a bike more suitable and comfortable for a particular use. Besides, there's still the Black Widow and the WR. Great video and great work on the bike Mr. EveRide ADV!
Looks fantastic for its intended purpose. Am so impressed with your creativity and ingenuity to improvise and improve those weak parts - lights, for example. And who really cares what others think about these mods? Ride on, brother!
I put on reflective tape on my (black) TUSK panniers, just to help with visibility so other people can posible see me at night a little better. Plus makes the wife happy. Keep up the great work!
I LOVE IT!!! Its not a monster, its a STUD! Looks fantastic! Gets me thinking I need to do some custom mods to my KLR... Hmmm.... where to start? I think I know just where to start! I will start by taking her for a ride!! Then let the creative grey matter start to work! Thanks for the update and great vids!! Rock on Bro!!
Man, you made me miss my KLR so badly with this video... I had a early 2014 in almost dealer condition, ride it only on the streets and never made it to the dirt like it was intended to be (long story though), but was in love with it! I guess i'll be back in the ADV track in the near future with another KLR... Who knows? You have a really nice 1st gen right there. Like they say: "haters be hatin'..." Brand-new subscriber over here, keep doing these videos, really nice work putting them together! i'll be checking back some time again. Peace out!
can't beat the lexx exhaust! I put the dyno jet stage 2 kit, drilled slide and airbox mod along with 16tooth front sprocket and lexx to my 08. really impressive combination!
I had to get that extended shift lever, my feet are so big that with the stock one to shift up I would have to put my foot at more than a 45 degree angle or point my foot in towards the bike. The replacement makes a world of difference for me. I also finally got those Tusk panniers as well! Getting ready for my first actual trip on the bike in July!
Exhaust sounds great,my favorite on this build is rear fender, headlight ( I hate the ugly square stock light) and the weight reducing and great sounding Lexx exhaust.
Outstanding! This is the blueprint for my KLR mods. Be prepared to see a bunch of FrankinBike clones. I was already thinking of getting rid of all the plastic and now that I have seen what a naked KLR looks like; I'm fer it!
I watched your video millions time agan and again, and for me, this is the best KLR650 video ever, and best motorcycle made concept. Wanna to make my KLR as your, becouse he never left me anywere, and for that, he deserve to be a road king. Thank you for inspiration :)
So much cinema!!! Awesome video man. Being a KLR guy, I must admit that upon seeing what you were going to do to the old gal my first thought was something along the lines of "THE HOROR.........why for the love of mike why??" But after seeing the end results, and watching the video, all I can say is Tractor on brother. The KLR has always been a function over style bike anyway. I was happy to see you decided to put the side panels back on. As I watched the video I kept saying to myself ........put the rad shrouds back on......... You let the old gal put her skirt on, but have her running around topless. Keep up the good work.
Great video. It isn't how I would style a KLR, but I appreciate you being steadfast in doing what YOU like! It's your bike, and the only person it needs to please is you. :) Oh, and if the internet has taught me anything... if someone is hating on it, you're doing it right!!
Wonderful video . Great bike and really like how you set it up . Don't worry about those who will complain because they will complain not matter what you do or anyone else does. Build what works for you . I think it needs more oddities (stickers, stuffed animals, racing strips, sparkly paint, but no flaws or skulls that would be wrong)
Superb video. I have subscribed. I looked you up after I watched a Shadetree Surgeon video where he recommended you. This is the best KLR650 I've ever seen.
I don't care for any windscreens, road bike or not, but in my opinion, your bike looks great without the windshield, I really like the way the engine and radiator are protected, good job !
I like it, the only two things that are just not my thing are the backrest and touring windscreen. I do like how easy you made it removable though. Good job.
your KLR looks AWESOME, even more without front windscreen :) . i'd move both LED bars to the bottom/under the of main light (or just choose only one, more powerful) , but rest.... perfect. love that straight rear fender. once a thumper, always a thumper. wish you many man safe miles off and on the road. cheers.
Awesome bike especially because it's exactly what you wanted and suits your needs, that's why it doesn't appeal to everyone out there - because it's your vision and doesn't jive with everyone. Rock on, Monster!
I had a 05 klr and now have an 06 dl650 but now I'm more concerned with wrecking it. So ups and downs. Maybe someday I'll find another cheap klr you never know. I like your bike, it's good to stand out.
It does look pretty cool that way. And I would like the headlight to move with the bars. But I’m already used to it. Yes the Harley riders do look up and actually seem envious I’m sitting so high. And the guys in the pick up trucks look surprised and miffed I can look them in the eye. I bought a 2016 KLR in the digital camo. Looks great with Zega Pro panniers and the Saddleman Tactical tunnel bag on matching track seat. Great capacity and is the backrest.
Great bike!!! Awesome job, man! I got similiar bike and thinkin' to do some changes (just like you) on my Kawasaki KLE 500. Thx on inspiration & ideas!! Wish you luck and happy times on this piece of art!
Not sure how I missed this vid, but that KLR is incredible. I never owned one but watching your vids make me believe I should sell my R1150GS for one hahaha. I won't, don't worry! All of these DIY mods are what adventure motorcycling is all about.
It's absolutely gorgeous. I just picked up an 06 klr with only 12k miles for my first bike. Can't wait to make similar modifications!
Don't know if you will see this but just wanted to say that seeing this video so long ago made me want a KLR. And now that I finally bought my first bike, I skipped buying the XSR700 I ordered and got a KLR650 Adventure.

"Barry White fathering a child with a surly badger"? Priceless. I love it!
Truly one of your best narrations yet.
looks a little, "mad max ish". I like it!
I was about to make a Mad Max comment myself.
You did an awesome job. I like how you have made it so adaptable. I also like how you have stuck with it and made so many improvements rather than just getting a newer one.

Anything that maximizes function, comfort and riding pleasure is pure absolute beauty in my experience. I love it.

Nice build Tyler! love the off road look and the pipe sounds amazing. Good to see the old KLR back!
Well done dude!!! im lovin' that dirt set up! Build it into your own deal, and youll always be happy with it !

did you get the klr after all if so what do you think of it I would like to know the pros and cons in your opinion.
Frankenstein is the perfect way to put it, I personally don’t like adventure bikes but this bike caught my eye. Piece of automotive work. Great job and great build, thanks for the amazing brutally honest reviews!
I don’t think it looks bad at all. Function over form 🤘🏼

No matter what people say... Hats off for building YOUR 'perfect' KLR!
And it sounds awesome bro...
Good job!
Awesome progress! Lots of inspiration here, thank you! :)
After 1700 miles on my 2018 with a few upgrades, you've summed it up the best so far!
that is the coolest klr I've ever seen. it looks great with no windshield or bags.
Beautiful klr u influnced me to buy a tractor a year ago started rebuilding it recently after i had a year of enjoyment and abuse you have converted me from a street bike rider to full adv rider
This is what ONLY KLR people will understand... love it

That is the nicest (and maybe by that I mean most practical - although there is some strange beauty to it..) Gen 1 KLR I have ever seen! Nice job!
You had fun building it, riding it, and showing it off. Great work!
Great video! Loved the part with the music starting at 0:50. I love this look. Such a versatile bike. Get that thing on a boat and come to South Africa :)
Great Adventure Monster! Love how it's looks. Found your excellent Chanel because I am buying my first KLR this week. Greetings from the Andes

😱 Awesome Presentation of the KLR..!
I was on the fence about buying 2001 locally for $2,000 and this Video just convinced me. Thanks..!
My kids and I had a good laugh about the Cruiser rider comment. I love that KLR, well done.
Keep doing what you do man.
I like the look! and sounds like you made it more functional than ever. Enjoy mate!
I had to get that extended shift lever, my feet are so big that with the stock one to shift up I would have to put my foot at more than a 45 degree angle or point my foot in towards the bike. The replacement makes a world of difference for me.

Absolutely amazing. Good work. For someone who had little wrenching experience not that long ago you did a great job.
Awesome vid! Love the boot sole at 2:39 haha! As always great work.

That's awesome bro. I'm 45 seconds in and had to stop to say it looks like it's a bit lighter. Which is awesome. Looks cool af.👍
Love the experience of the Harley waving description.. I like the franken bike.. it is personal, descriptive, defining, and most of all you!
I'm a converted skeptic. Nicely done - she turned out to be a functional beauty.
It still does on and off road. It's still a klr. Gotta like. My klr goes anywhere... Love it
I watched your video millions time agan and again, and for me, this is the best KLR650 video ever, and best motorcycle made concept. Wanna to make my KLR as your, becouse he never left me anywere, and for that, he deserve to be a road king. Thank you for inspiration :)

I like it! The bike looks lean and mean and ready for anything you can throw at it. Good job brother!
I would ride the heck out of this build man.
It's a completely different bike, yet it still carries the nostalgia of the "Tractor"!
Great video. It isn't how I would style a KLR, but I appreciate you being steadfast in doing what YOU like! It's your bike, and the only person it needs to please is you. :) Oh, and if the internet has taught me anything... if someone is hating on it, you're doing it right!!
The purest essence of function over form.
Nice to see ya back to the beginning....T. Full circle with even way more knowledge. Thanks sharing your ideas. Cheers!
God, it's so perfect in its practicality... This will inspire some of my own mods for sure!
you have created a monster. I love it. I miss my KLR. Keep on chuggin, love the videos and keep up the good work.
I have been waiting for this video since you started the project
Good to see the beast back on / off the road.
I love your bike and this video was great! I actually just bought my 1993 klr 650 today and I already love it! Thanks and have fun out there!
Man! Incredible massive killing of the KLR design! But absolutely creative and functional! Great video!
wow the KLR turned out really good! crusier dont see it! a better Duelie i do see!! way to go be safe!!
Dang man. that's a great setup you got. A lot of work but well worth it.
I like your bike, it's good to stand out.
function over beauty!!! that said, bike looks terrific! the Harley guys wave and heads exploding had me laughing out loud :D
no dude i love harleys, and most all bikes for that matter. This thing is what the words "adventure motorcycle" mean!
AMAZING!!!!!! I love the name, the color, the parts used, and most of all the video. Great job man, everything was perfect.
Sweet vid Ty!! Great job on the KLR, I'm diggin it! :) Looking forward to seeing the Tractor back in action!
Hey! Y’all should check out the Tank Vest. A cover in pack nylon covered in Molle strips so you have a unique look. And awesome modularity.
I just wanna say, I recently stumbled across your channel and I absolutely love it!! great content and EXTREMELY entertaining!!!
Damn this video was awesome!
Most beautiful klr ever ! As soon as I have the money I will do the same to my suzuki xf 650 :) Great video as always, big up from France !
Awesome video mate. Hope to pick up a KLR in the coming months, meanwhile I’m armchair riding watching great videos like this. Cheers.
I love it! Simple and fully functional. A totall fuss free adventure bike.
Riders have to build their own perfect bike , perfect for them. Fabricating when nessisary. Good job ty! Show em how it's done!
Can't wait to see what you create for Halloween! I can't image it could be more frightening than this beautiful monster.
Your crazy builds inspired me to do the DRZ dash that I put together a while back!
that bike is looking awesome, dude! and sounds great too. i like it´s flexibility with the windshield etc. good job!
Soon...soon...another Monster will emerge. thanks for making the KLR look like a great idea.
Nice! That front fender really helped the looks.
